Politics › Re: Anambra Defeat: Makarfi Brought Ill-luck To PDP, Says Kashamu by anonimi: 7:59am On Nov 20, 2017 |
This bloated man should go and say that in Britain or the USA. Useless drug baron who helped his fellow drug delear criminal, JagaBandit and Ebola Owu vote Jonathan out and bring bad luck bubu upon us. MKO4ever: Following the house arrest of senator-elect from Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the United States Department of Justice has said it is “fully ready to assist” Nigeria with proper documentation on his extradition and express trial before a US District Judge in Chicago, Judge Charles Richard Norgle.
The NDLEA had, through its Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Ofoyeju Mitchell, disclosed that the agency’s men invaded Kashamu’s residence in Lekki, Lagos State last Saturday in response to the extradition request formally made to the Nigerian government by its American counterpart.
However, in a brief chat with LEADERSHIP yesterday, the trial judge, Norgle, said the Justice Department is “fully ready to ensure that an express hearing is given” to the case once Kashamu is brought before him to face the charge.
Apart from using the name of his younger brother, Adewale Kashamu – who the accused had claimed is dead – to obtain a Nigerian passport with registration number A870428 to transport drugs from Nigeria and the Federal Republic of Benin into the United States of America for several years up till 1994, Norgle said Kashamu, the leader of the drug cartel which had its base in Chicago, Illinois, had also used pseudo names like ‘Alhaji, Kasmal and Daddy’ for the illicit deals. The international passport was issued on April 20, 1990 in Abuja and it expired on April 19, 1995.
Other members of the drug cartel who are presently observing jail terms in different US prisons are Emmanuel Ugbade, Toun (surname not ascertained), Nicolas Fillmore, Cleary Wolters, Ellen Wolters, Oumiou Samadou, Gbenga Giwa and Akim Shokunbi.
Further investigations by LEADERSHIP revealed that the US Department of Justice had, penultimate Monday, made a formal request to the Nigerian government to “expressly and legally extradite Price Buruji” to America to face criminal charges.
The investigation also discovered video proofs which the United States legal department is willing to tender before Norgle as parts of the body of evidences showing that the accused had been going in and out of America to conduct drug-related business, contrary to his claims that he had “never stepped feet” on the soil of the country.
Kashamu was arrested in Britain in 1998 and held for five years before he was unconditionally released in 2003 by the Royal Court of Justice in England presided over by Lord Justice Pill and Mr. Justice Bell. The judges said that they were releasing the accused person who, upon his arrest, had over £350,000 in his possession, because the US Justice Department could not substantiate its claims that he (Kashamu) was the most wanted Alhaji Adewale Kashamu who was allegedly mentioned by others arrested as their principal conspirator.
He was arrested upon his arrival at the Heathrow International Airport with a Nigerian passport bearing Buruji Kashamu, but the UK judges dismissed it as a case of mistaken identity, stressing that the Chicago prosecutors had also tainted their eyewitness identification evidence by failing to disclose that one Nicolas Fillmore, one of the co-defendants, failed to pick him (Buruji) out of a photo line-up.
http://leadership.ng/news/436102/us-prepares-for-buruji-kashamus-extradition-discloses-fresh-evidence https://www.theelitesng.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/image447.jpgkay29000: To those that don't know who Pablo Escosbar was, he was a Colombian drug lord from the 80s and 90s that became almost bigger than the Colombian government, till he was killed in 1993. And who is Kashamu Baruji? He is a newly elected Ogun State Senator who the NDLEA have been trying to Extradite to the U.S for some days now, to answer a drug related case. Well, that is the little people know about this man. But he goes by another name...or maybe more one. Back in the early 90s, he headed a drug cartel that dealt in millions of dollars of cocaine, and went by the alias, Alhaji, or Prince.
He has been on the run for more than 15 years now, and his unanswered drug case got blown up again when the TV Series, Orange is the New Black became popular a few years ago. I know you are wondering the correlation between the TV Series and Kashamu. Well, the series is actually based on the memoirs of Piper Kerman; an American woman who worked for Kashamu in the 90s. She wrote the book after saving 15 months for transporting monies for Kashamu. Although she never had a one on one meeting with Kashamu, her girlfriend at the time, worked directly with Kashamu and brought her into the cartel.
He was responsible for reinstating Obasonjo's power in Ogun state, when Gbenga Daniels (former Governor of Ogun state) was controling the state. And Kashamu boldly said he spent 3 Billion Naira to achieve this. He now wonders why Obasonjo is doing all he can to bring him down.
Read more below...
"With a mix of comedy and drama, and packed with tales of lesbian sex and inmates abused by guards, the edgy, fictionalized version of Kerman's life in prison has become one of the hottest shows in Hollywood this year. But in the real story behind the experiences of the fictional "Piper Chapman," the central character is the accused drug kingpin, a Nigerian businessman and political boss who has avoided U.S. authorities for 15 years.
Buruji Kashamu, who is frequently given the royal title "Prince" in African news reports, claims he was targeted in a case of mistaken identity. Rather than being the international drug smuggler known as "Alaji," he says he was actually a U.S. government informant who provided information about terrorist attacks on the U.S. before and after 9/11.
The U.S. attorney's office in Chicago won't say much about the case because Kashamu is still wanted on charges alleging his drug ring moved millions of dollars worth of heroin from Europe and Southeast Asia through O'Hare International Airport during the 1990s.
The case has frustrated prosecutors here, in part because they once had Kashamu in their grasp but lost him. English authorities arrested him when he landed there in 1998 and held him for five years during extradition hearings. Ultimately, however, British courts let Kashamu go after ruling that Chicago prosecutors had tainted their eyewitness identification evidence by failing to disclose that one of his co-defendants failed to pick him out of a photo lineup.
Over the years, a series of Chicago lawyers have argued on Kashamu's behalf, most recently in an unsuccessful 2011 appeal to the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals attempting to have the charges dismissed.
Kashamu claims the real "Alaji" was his dead brother and that he has been mistakenly identified by everybody involved in the case. The government has argued that those claims are absurd, given that the witnesses include his former American lover and her sister, who recruited Kerman into the ring.
"We're still trying to figure out ways we can fix this for Buruji," said his Chicago lawyer, Scott Frankel. "They're trying to bring this guy back and then have a bunch of people who haven't seen him in years testify that he's the guy."
In her book, Kerman makes a few references to "Alaji," but she never mentions Kashamu by name and says she never met him. But her girlfriend "had stayed at his compound (in Benin) and been subject to 'witch-doctor' ministrations and was now considered his sister-in-law."
Published in 2010, five years after Kerman was released from a federal prison in Connecticut, "Orange is the New Black" immediately drew attention from Hollywood. By early 2012 — just a few months after appellate judges in Chicago refused to dismiss Kashamu's charges — Kerman had sold her story to Netflix."

The Libyan Red Crescent posted photos of dozens of bodies in black and white bags lined up along the shore near the western city of Zawiya. A spokesman for the aid organisation said there were still bodies floating out at sea as the agency had no way of retrieving them. He said the migrants were all adults, mostly from sub-Saharan African countries, and all but three were men. The UN migration agency, the International Organisation of Migration (IOM), said the dinghy had set off on Saturday with 110 people on board. The agency said traffickers deliberately took the engines from the boat and then abandoned it to drift.

mokaflex: Ex-Vice President Alex Ekwueme Is Dead Former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme is dead. A statement from his family signed by his brother and the traditional ruler of Oko in Anambra State, Igwe Laz Ekwueme said that he died by 10:00 pm in a London clinic, Sunday. Will they bury him in London also since he refused to die in Nigeria where he was powerful and was part of those who ruined the country such that doctors are running away to practice abroad Islie: The Nigerian Medical Association , Lagos State Chapter on Thursday said the exodus of doctors from Nigeria had reached an alarming proportion and called for improved health sector funding to discourage it .
The Chairman , Dr Olumuyiwa Odusote , said in Lagos that more than 40 , 000 of the 75, 000 registered Nigerian doctors , were practising abroad while 70 per cent in the country were thinking of picking jobs outside .
According to him , over 100 doctors resigned from the University College Hospital , Ibadan , in 2017 while about 800 doctors resigned from Lagos State hospitals in the last two years. Odusote described the situation as worrisome .
“ The health crisis in Nigeria is unprecedented as the mass exodus hits an alarming proportion .
“ Already , it takes a new patient two to three hours to see a doctor .
“ Over 100 doctors have resigned from the University College Hospital, Ibadan , this year ; about 800 doctors resigned from Lagos State hospitals in the last two years, and over 50 in November alone .
“ Kebbi State has been unable to employ a single doctor in two years despite multiple adverts for employment ; over 200 doctors and nurses have resigned from Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital this year .
“ Seventy per cent of Nigerian doctors are making plans to leave for foreign lands and are taking exams to that effect , ” he said .
The chairman said that 236 doctors wrote primaries for West Africa College of Physicians in 2017 to gain admission into Nigerian teaching hospitals .
He said that in 2012, more than 1 , 000 doctors had written the same exams and 660 of them had written the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board Examination (PLAB ) to practise in the UK over those primaries .
“ Our healthcare system has been neglected for an extended period , evidenced by lack of funding, under- supply, inefficiency , decrepit equipment , poor quality , needless deaths and unhappy workforce .
“ Today , many of the country’ s general hospitals , with the exception of those in Lagos , are not in good condition and are breeding grounds for infectious diseases.
“ Many also do not have sufficient beds ; so , corridors are turned to sleeping wards, ” he said .
He said that there was the need for increased number of public health centres fully equipped with adequate drugs and modern facilities and manned by specialists .
Odusote said that fatigued and overworked doctors had committed errors.
“ The nation needs 303 , 333 medical doctors now and 10, 605 new doctors annually to provide good quality patient care . ’’
According to him , providing better facilities and work environment , higher remuneration, career progression, professional advancement and better quality of life would guarantee good quality healthcare.
The chairman said that allocation to health in the proposed 2018 Budget should have been more than 3 . 9 per cent .
He said that the 3 . 9 per cent allocated to the health sector was less than the WHO -recommended 15 per cent .
“ NMA will nonetheless , continue with advocacy for improved healthcare financing through universal health coverage and full implementation of the National Health Act, 2014, ” he said .
The Federal Government allocated N 340 . 45bn to health in the 2018 Budget proposal of N 8 . 612 tn . NAN

‘A budget that moves domestic spending in Aso Villa from N580m to N1.7bn cannot be a budget of change’
Abuja – Sen. Eyinnaya Abaribe (PDP Abia South) on Wednesday in Abuja, berated the 2016 budget and called on President Muhammaduu Buhari to withdraw it and go back to the drawing board.
Abaribe while making contributions during the consideration of the budget, said the proposal was faulty on many grounds and could not be implemented at it was.
He said that predication of oil benchmark at 38 dollars per barrel when the crude oil price had fallen below 30 dollars per barrel made the budget unrealistic.
Abaribe faulted the government for increasing spending by 30 per cent based on borrowing.
“Mr President, my colleagues, this budget is indeed unique. After the budget presentation, the finance minister has never come to explain the details of the budget as it is normally done.
“It is a budget of change I agree, but it is a change in the wrong direction. I say it is a change in the wrong direction because it says that it is based on zero budgeting requiring all expenses to be fully justified.
“Mr President, a budget that increases spending up to 30 per cent based solely on borrowing, in what way are we justified? That is the question we want to ask the people who brought this budget.
“We know what is going on in the global economy: this budget is predicated on an oil benchmark of 38 dollars per barrel and I can now say that with oil being 28 dollars today, this budget is dead on arrival.
“The job of the opposition is to help the government to get its priorities right, so I want to please urge this government to withdraw this budget and go back to the drawing board,” he said.
The senator also faulted the adjustments made in the budget as well as allocation for spending in the Aso Rock Villa, saying that it was too exorbitant.
He said that the adjustments rather than reduce spending in areas where they were not necessary only spread it into different offices.
“Mr President, a budget that moves domestic spending within Aso Villa from N580 million to N1.7 billion cannot be a budget of change.
“We were told that in the revised budget there was an adjustment due to error, we agree but what has happened is that up to N7 billion were moved from buying vehicles and spread to offices.
“It also increased the spending that is due to renovations within the Villa.
“They are going to renovate the Villa with N3.9 billion: what else do you want to renovate there that Nigerians will see in the Year 2016?” he asked.
However, in his contribution, Sen. Ahmed Lawan (APC Yobe North) blamed the previous administration for the lack of funds due to the embezzlement witnessed in previous governments.
He said that this was the 17th budget he would be debating as a legislator and noted that not more than 40 per cent implementation was achieved in the last 16 years.
“The proposal before us is the first budget where the executive has deemed it necessary to give ordinary Nigerians genuine hope.
“N500 billion allocated for school feeding and social SAFTEY NET is commendable.
“It is time to say oil should not continue to play dominant role as we have suffered economically and politically: it is time to diversify this economy.
“The direction of the executive is the way to go. `That is, we should make every effort to have the real sector-agric mining and manufacturing.
“The budget deserves the support of everyone, including my colleagues on the other side. When we were in the opposition we supported the PDP, they should support us,” he said.

Ask LIE Mohammed who has been duly compensated for his helpful propaganda that brought presidot bubu and the All Poverty Congress, APC into power at the centre. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3729270_fbimg1463576522480_jpeg1cdbdca1a64e01477696c4d9516aebf9Revealed: How Buhari Budgeted N39 billion for Propaganda
In a bid to launder his already battered image, President Muhammadu Buhari has allocated a whooping sum of N39 billion in the 2016 budget to the Ministry of Information and Culture, a sum higher than the paltry N29 billion allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture.
This is a direct inverse of the 2015 budget, where Former President Goodluck Jonathan allocated the sum of N23 billion to Ministry of Information and N39 billion to the Agricultural Ministry.
The meager allocation to the Agricultural ministry has left political stakeholders wondering if the present administration aims at diversifying the economy or thriving on propaganda.
Buhari had in August, 2015 stated that Nigerians must stop paying mere lip service to agriculture, as crude oil and gas exports will no longer be sufficient as the country’s major revenue earner.
“It’s time to go back to the land. We must face the reality that the petroleum we had depended on for so long will no longer suffice. We campaigned heavily on agriculture, and we are ready to assist as many want to go into agricultural ventures,’’ Buhari stated.
However investigations by Post Nigeria revealed that Buhari’s words did not match his action following the lean budgetary provision for Agriculture.

If they don't pay their proper taxes how will the government fix roads, schools, clinics and create well paid EMPLOYMENT for the youths instead of begging and becoming kidnappers |

Charly68: I only pity their future because whatsoever a mab sows in life ,he will surely reap...let them be playing pranks with peoples collective destiny ..where are the politicians of yesterdays? We didn't even hear about their children name much .. This hopelessness is what is killing our country and leading our young people into slavery in Libya as they attempt to flee into Europe. Why are we such a hopeless people? The politicians of yesteryears have their stolen money intact, which they and their children are enjoying while you and other hopeless Nigerians are jobless, without electricity, driving on bad roads as you wait eternally for them to reap what they sowed. They sowed bravery in the face of their coward fellow citizens and will reap bountiful rewards as any warrior does including Abraham who paid 10% of his spoils of war to Melchizedek. Not so Instead of pitying their future, you should seriously pity your own present AND future of suffering. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3084794_DumbPeople_jpg287f2b4d3ead2f536f99f92cbca9c590https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/b0/14/77/b01477d340d0772b4860dc5c6e08df67.jpg |

serverconnect: NPF is the mother of crime in Nigeria since ages. Don't they have an IGP who is fcvking and promoting his corporal girlfriend and bragging about it? Meanwhile presidiot bubu, the Baba Isale of corruption is looking on like a Lookman who is high on Lucozade instead of sacking the useless IGP.Bubu is the worst president we have ever had. tboneybone: The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris is not a stranger in the land of Scandals. String of scandals have followed the 19th indegenous Nigeria Police Chief. On his appointment about two years ago, there were pronounced agitation on his competence to lead the force. Prior to his appointment, the former Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase (Rtd.) already issued him four administrative querries on his incompetent performance. While battling to answer the last querry, he was called by The Presidency to take over the leadership of the force.
As a result of the corrective measures by the former IGP, Ibrahim Idris declared a blackmail war against his predecessor, accusing him of stealing over 20 vehicles belonging to the Police. Arase was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.
Distinguished Senator Misau came up with grave allegations of massive fraud running into billions of naira being perpetuated under the supervision of IGP Idris. The allegation was not addressed, instead the police media mechinery descended heavily on the Senator, accusing him of forgery and other miscellaneous crimes. Eventually, the confirmation of the issuance of the Senator's retirement letter by the Police Service Commission, embarrassed the force to the watch of Nigerians.
There are trails of scandals. Recently, one Mr. Austine Ugochukwu Albert alleged that the Inspector General of Police accepted some bribe to compromise the case of fraud he lodged before the Police. He has petitioned the President on the allegation.
Among all the scandals, the story of ASP Amina, the alleged mistress of the IGP seem to scandalously fascinate Nigerians. In a widely circulated social media story: "IGP Ibrahim Idris in another phase of scandal", one major character was featured in the story. ASP Amina was said to have had a record promotion from a Police Corporal to Police ASP within 12 months. Though the story was denied by the psudo media pawns of the IGP, it has refused to be burried. The story resonates in every police formation in Nigeria because of the alleged unwarranted promotions.
Apart from Amina's promotions, there are plethora of other officers who have benefitted from the scandelous promotions, allegedly based on financial inducement. According to information circulating round, "the current CP of Anambara state, Mr Garba was an ACP last year and was promoted to CP within a year; Mr Ali Janga was also an ACP last year and was promoted to the rank of DCP in less than 12 months and again acting CP couple of weeks ago and was posted to replace a vibrant CP in kogi.
Mr Muawiya was DSP last year, now promoted SP the same year and CSP this 3 months ago, he is now CSO Govt house kano: Mr kolo of Federal SARS, was promoted to the rank of CSP just last year and now ACP, Surprisingly his name was among those sent to Police Service Commission for elevation to DCP".
Amina is alleged to wield such powers in the force that many senior officers are sending "returns" to her.
It is alleged that in the history of The Nigeria police, no IGP has been so beleagured with scandals as IGP Idris. Could this be a mere hatred, smear campaign or toxicity of the office of the IGP, who many believe is repositioning the force or is it the Nigerian phenomenon of "the more you look, the less you see"
