Yet he paid BAILOUT to the governors only one month after he resumed office. Too many LIES. Too much propaganda. From the utterly corrupt pretender in Aso Rock. Olamitisoji: Salary Crisis: Buhari To Bail Out States - Ortom Jun 13, 2015
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/salary-crisis-buhari-to-bail-out-states/ chino11: Sep 01, 2015
• Kwara, Osun, Zamfara commence payment of salary arrears, 24 other states to follow Obinna Chima In line with the federal government’s resolve to reflate economic activities in the country, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will this week continue the disbursement of its special intervention fund totalling N338 billion to 27 states in the country.
Already, the funds to Kwara, Zamfara and Osun States were disbursed last week and they have commenced the payment of salary arrears to workers in their respective states, THISDAY learnt yesterday.
A source at the central bank confirmed that more states would get their monies this week. From the breakdown of funds made available to the first three states to which monies were disbursed last week, Kwara State got a total of N4.320 billion from the special intervention fund, Osun got N34.988 billion, while Zamfara was given N10.020 billion.
The loans repayable at an interest rate of nine per cent over a 20-year period, also showed that Abia State is expected to get N14.152 billion, while Adamawa State will receive N2.378 billion; Bauchi – N8.60 billion; Bayelsa – N1.285 billion; Benue – N28.013 billion; Borno – N7.680 billion; and Cross River – N7.856 billion.
In addition, Delta has got the central bank’s approval to receive N10.036 billion; Ebonyi – N4.063 billion; Edo – N3.167 billion; Ekiti – N9.604 billion; Enugu – 4.207 billion; Gombe – N16.459 billion; Imo – N26.806 billion; Katsina – N3.304 billion; Kebbi – N0.690 billion and Kogi – N50.842 billion.
Nasarawa is also expected to get N8.317 billion, while Niger will receive a total of N4.306 billion; Ogun – N20.00 billion; Ondo – N14.686 billion; Oyo – N26.606 billion; Plateau – N5.357 billion and Sokoto will get N10.093 billion.
The source, a senior central bank official, stressed that with the disbursement of the N338 billion to the 27 states that applied for the special intervention fund, economic growth would be stimulated through the payment of outstanding salaries to workers who have been owed for months.
He explained: “Once salaries are paid, we expect consumption to increase nationwide and this will go a long way in stimulating economic activities.
“After disbursing to Kwara, Osun and Zamfara, more states which applied will get their funds this week, and we have ensured that we kept the interest rate low at 9 per cent and loans repayable over a 20-year period.”
As part of the federal government’s resolve to end the lingering crisis of unpaid workers’ salaries in the country, especially in several states of the federation, President Muhammadu Buhari had approved a comprehensive relief package designed to salvage the situation.
Part of the relief package was the CBN's special intervention fund to be offered to states, which would be in the form of soft loans available to states to access solely for the purpose of paying the backlog of salaries.
The approval of the special intervention fund was sequel to the decision by the National Economic Council (NEC) at its meeting of June 29, 2015, that had requested that the CBN, in collaboration with other stakeholders, should appraise and consider ways of liquidating outstanding workers’ salaries owed by state and local governments.
The conditions for accessing the facility included resolutions of the respective state executive councils (SECs) authorising the borrowings and state Houses of Assembly consenting to the loans, as well as issuance of Irrevocable Standing Payment Orders (ISPOs) to ensure timely repayment at source from the states’ Federation Account allocations.

InvertedHammer: Sack all of them. Federal employment is a huge drain in the economy. It is a reward process whereby relatives of people in power are offered positions where they have no meaningful input but keep drawing huge monthly salaries.
The FG should embark on creating jobs in manufacturing, farming, etc that produce tangible products. Hiring folks to just sleep in different ministries is counterproductive. If in doubt, take a walk into Ministries in Nigeria as early as 10am. It will seem like there is a sleeping competition going on. Why? Because there are no duties/responsibilities for them. They are just filling the quota system. \ Good point except that the government should not itself create jobs outside its REGULATORY and taxation roles as far as business is concerned. It should limit itself to creating the enabling ENVIRONMENT for competitive businesses to thrive and grow by providing: - education for all children to have a pool of skilled labour. - railways. - roads - tap water |

CuteTj: With how much?
When the budget of Texas alone is bigger than the budget of the whole of Nigeria.
And despite the revelation above, we still compare America with Nigeria. The truth is there is no basis for comparing as them pass us by far. I wonder how much the budget of Singapore is and it rivals the best of the western world in many areas. |

... To outer space. Mogidi: He delivered good governance hence his protégé was unsuccessful in his bid to become governor. Amaechi is high on grade 1 Buhari urine.
https://www.monorails.org/webpix%203/cnstRivers02.jpg ijekul: As the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Rivers State Government to probe the sale of valued assets of the state and other matters continued its sitting on Friday, the technical consultant to the state on the monorail project, Arcus Gibbs revealed that he advised former Governor Chibuike Amaechi against continuing with the project.
Managing Director of Arcus Gibbs Nig Ltd, Wiero Viguezang, however said his company gave the advice only after collecting N22.9bn from the Rivers State Government since its services were enlisted in March 1, 2010.
Viguezang spoke when he appeared before the commission to explain the role played by his company in the monorail project being probed by the commission.
While being cross-examined by counsel to the commission, Dr. Zaccheus Adangor, Viguezang, stated that the monorail project was no longer tenable considering the shortfall in the state’s revenue and the inability of its original technical and equity partners, TSI Nig Ltd, headed by the former military administrator of Rivers State, Brig-Gen Anthony Ukpo (Rtd.), to fulfil its obligations to contribute 80 per cent of its equity holdings.
He disclosed that the state owes his company N1.1bn for its services. He also said the company had in a letter to the Rivers State through the ministry of transport, in April, made a six-point recommendation to the Rivers State on how to unbundle the monorail project in such a way that the state government can salvage some financial benefits out of the N33.9bn so far invested in the project. The monorail project was originally estimated to cost about Euros2250m.
The technical partner had in its sixth point of recommendation suggested to the Rivers State Government to unbundle the monorail project and approach the manufacturers of the mechanical components and rail tracks in Germany and exploit the possibility of reselling components at a lower price to the manufacturers.
He said the company also advised the state government to consider the option of using the monorail facilities for other commercially viable purposes, mentioning the spaces between pillars and surrounding areas of the monorail project, stressing that the area between Azikiwe Road and the UTC axis could be put into very fruitful commercial purpose. Viguezang also told the commission that his company and the state government had planned to unveil the monorail project last April specifically to mislead the people of Rivers State into thinking that the project, which has gulped N33.9bn, was still on course.
He admitted that his company wrote a memo to the commissioner for transport to arrange the unveiling of the project essentially for media coverage since the project was “technically uncompleted”.
According to Viguezang, “We actually wrote to the ministry of transport in January, to arrange for the governor to unveil the monorail project in April for the attention and coverage of the media based on the expectation of the people of the state.”
When asked to clarify if the unveiling was to deceive the people of Rivers State into believing that the controversial monorail project was ready, Viguezang admitted; “It was to deceive the people into believing that the monorail project was at last ready”.
The managing director, however, stressed that “apart from the media coverage and public attention that it is expected to generate, the monorail was not technically and commercially ready. Only phase 1a within phase 1 of the project was ready. So, there was no way the public would have been able to use the monorail as at April when we asked the ministry of transport to unveil the project to the media”.
Viguezang admitted that the Rivers State government enlisted services of Arcus Gibbs at the cost of N600 million from March 1, 2010 to December 1, 2010, after the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with TSI collapsed because TSI could not raise revenue to fulfil the payment of its 80 per cent equity share capital.
He stated that part of its role as the technical service provider to the Rivers State government concerning the monorail project was to evaluate and assess the activities of TSI and give an independent opinion to the Rivers State government.

Willie bought that house way before he became the governor Looks like you do not understand simple English. n a country where minimum wage is N18,000 How does the above equate to saying the governor earns N18,000 If you can't understand simple English, is it any wonder you cannot understand the finer issues of governance, public trust and ethics?have you seen your Willie's personal income TAX returns before he became governor showing he could legitimately afford the house? https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/b2/07/3b/b2073b69c249cbcb3cc99587e81157ce.jpg |

nameerfhtennek: You see, I love my wife more than anything, more than anyone. She is one person in the whole world I could go any length for. I love her, that was why I forgave her when she broke up with me after I left Nigeria for Saudi Arabia. She broke up with me few months after I came to Saudi and started dating another guy twice her age. She says she never expected I would come back to her after she left me but I did. I did because I saw a future with her, a future I imagined, believed in and worked towards its reality. Today we have gotten to a level where most people out there would want to be, our colleagues envy is because they believe we are privileged and blessed but what they don't know is that in the truth, I have no peace. This marriage has become my legacy and my curse. Truth is, you are pussy-whipped (like most men in relationships) and won't be sending her away to nowhere. Otherwise you will not be writing or talking about doing shit. You would just have done it and moved on. Obviously you can't move on without here and she knows it. Cheer up and face your reality. |

Be honest. How come Americans are not praying, fasting and queuing up for our visas and seeking to stay put by hook or crook in our own country? Ordinary tap water we don't have in even posh areas of Nigeria making us drink borehole water with traces of our own shit. No! Electricity sef na to supply by yourself with noisy, pollution generators. Lawmaker scores Lagos Water Corporation low
A Lagos State lawmaker, Mr Saka Fafunmi, on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of the state Water Corporation.
Fafunmi, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), said in Ikeja that the corporation had not been able to justify statutory allocations to it.
The lawmaker, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the assembly, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said that the corporation had the capacity to generate much fund internally through water rates but had relied solely on government funding because of poor performance.
'' Anyone that is using water will be willing to pay for it; the corporation has not been giving us water.
"Is there any new community that Water Corporation has given water? People depend on boreholes; even government estates have industrial boreholes.
"Why do we keep pumping money into an agency that does not give us the desired results?'' he asked.
He noted that the Adiyan Waterworks was located at Ifako-Ijaiye, where many of the residents had resorted to digging boreholes as a means of getting water.
''A lot of people are falling sick because they don't drink clean water.
''In the same compound, where you have sewage, is where you have a borehole.
''There is no way you can manage the sewage that it will not leak and pollute the water; everyone drinking such is drinking contaminated water,'' he said.
The lawmaker urged the corporation to increase water reticulation and supply to residents.

Amah70: How many Texans or Americans come to buy house in Nigeria where the Obianos and Ambodes make up the political leadership class? First thing a Nigerian politician does is buy house in America, Dubai, or Europe, so that any time Nigeria finally collapses, they shall run away abroad.
There is hardly any Nigerian politician who believes that Nigeria shall remain one and peaceful country.
But to divide Nigeria into more peaceful countries, the politicians in Nigeria say no. Thanks bro for telling it as it is. It is sad that we continue hailing these leaders looters for doing patently stupid things with our money instead of making our place like the America, Dubai, Europe, South Africa etc that they throw in our face. What effrontery? |
