Be wise Nigerians in 2023, none of the BMC zombies back then are relevant now, these days it's the rise of the urchins.
Don't joke with your future!
This is what Thiefnuibu who packaged Bubu as the messianic solution to all Nigerian problems, wants to continue with his Emilokan sing song. Failure upon failure. Who wants that
Did failure Obi provide water in every building after eight years, to make anyone expect that he can provide 24/7 electricity nationwide if given the keys of our treasury? Or he will steal our money to hide in Pandora

He told the BBC that the militant group could no longer mount "conventional attacks" against security forces or population centres. It had been reduced to fighting with improvised explosives devices (IED) and remained a force only in its heartland of Borno state, he said. Boko Haram has been described as one of the world's deadliest terror groups. Critics of the government argue that it has exaggerated the scale of its success against the militants, and that each time the army claims to have wiped out Boko Haram, the militants have quietly rebuilt.

How much respect do YOU give paupers in your area, town, LGA etc To better answer the question, you can go through the thread below:
Gerrard59: Recently, three incidents which had black people as their victims have occurred in the US and the news with the aid of technology and social media has reverberated across the world. Solidarity marches, rallies, protests, tweets and posts have been done in support of these individuals. One of the perpetrators even lost her job at a financial firm. Well, people term it racism which is a form of discrimination and these acts are condemnable. However, they are not new and neither would they reduce drastically if the black race remains poor. Yes, the premise of my argument is that black people are being racially discriminated across the world (Brazil, Libya, UAE, Germany, China etc.) because we are poor.
Discrimination is a human nature and people do this daily knowingly or unknowingly and one thing which characterises these acts are because those discriminated are thought of people who offer less value (i.e. don’t contribute as others). This nature of racial discrimination did not start today but it can be challenged only if those discriminated offer more value (i.e. contribute more than others) to the society. Today, it is blacks who are being discriminated however; the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Malaysians, Indians etc. have been discriminated for many years. Those days, Europeans saw Japanese as yellow monkeys but today the EU was elated when she signed a trade agreement with Japan. Trade deals aren’t signed with poor people. Today, the EU – leaders, business community, residents etc. – can never utter such towards the Japanese even if they don’t like the Japanese. What does this mean? When a race is rich, no one disrespects a member of that race anywhere in the world. To buttress this further, I mean, no one disrespects a rich person. This is explained below:
In the early to mid-20th century, the Japanese were mocked endlessly in the United States by all and sundry. To an extent this continued that it almost became criminal to be Japanese in the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Japanese_sentiment. However, the fortunes of the Japanese have increased spontaneously and no one dares to do same. Japan has the strongest passport – they can travel to over 180 countries visa free. Visa free statuses aren’t given to poor people. Check the strongest passports, they have one thing in common – those countries have strong GDPs, GDPs per capita and because they are rich, they are most likely to return to their home countries. Even if they don’t return, they don’t constitute a nuisance in the visiting country because they are rich.
The same for the Japanese applies to South Koreans, they were discriminated and insulted but no one does same today because they are rich. Most recent example of this is the Chinese. Prior to their wealth, Mainland Chinese were one of the poorest people globally. Even though their cousins in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and Malaysia were doing well economically, Chinese esp the Han Chinese (the majority ethnic group in Mainland China) were poor, as in, very poor. They were despised, mocked, insulted and had discriminatory statements thrown against them. However, as they are rich, no one dares insult China or a group of Chinese anywhere solely because they are rich. Cathay Pacific Airlines’ CEO and Chairman resigned when the Mainland government criticised the company for having let two of her pilots to participate in Pro-Hong Kong protests. Meanwhile, before both men stepped down, those pilots were sacked. This is because China is the company’s biggest market and no company dares to go against what the customer personally supports or likes. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/16/cathay-pacific-airways-ceo-hogg-resigns-board-notes-hong-kong-protests.html What about the incident between the luxury fashion company D&G and China? The company was accused of insulting Chinese culture and they retaliated by not buying her products anymore and even forced the closure of her stores in China. Chinese travellers went on social media vowing to stop visiting her stores in Milan and elsewhere in Europe. What did D&G founders do? They apologised and even spoke Chinese Mandarin during their apology https://www.scmp.com/comment/letters/article/2175377/chinese-send-clear-message-dg-insult-our-culture-pay-priceThis should not be surprising after all Chinese constitute half of the world’s luxury shoppers. HALF! Not 20% or 45% but 50%. What this means is: you have two pairs each of Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Rolex, Patek Phillip and Gucci goods; a Chinese buys half of them. There is no way you would disrespects such a person even if you hate the person, you will accord respect to the individualhttps://www.mckinsey.com/featured-insights/china/how-young-chinese-consumers-are-reshaping-global-luxury. What about in higher education? The Chinese are one of the few nationalities who pay cash as school fees in the UK, US, New Zealand, Canada, Australia etc. and through this the higher education industry stays afloat effortlessly in those countries. It takes a rich person to fork out 30K euros, Aussie/Canadian dollars, US dollars and pounds consistently as fees and any sort of maltreatment towards these people is met with outright withdrawal. The Australians are currently facing this problem as the government in Canberra accuses Beijing of fermenting troubles in their universities. Beijing retaliates by telling students not to go to Australia again for studies.
Meanwhile, the HE industry chiefs are pleading with Canberra to be very diplomatic because the HE industry is a top four export for Australia. These would not happen if China was not rich because with wealth comes power. They don’t go about hustling scholarships like we do, they pay cash and move into classes in some of the best universities not we that plead for IELTS waiver (even rich Singaporeans write the exam) or demand that GRE should be outlawed. Heck, they even have a prestigious scholarship by a billionaire to study in one of her best universities https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwarzman_Scholars How many foreign billionaires have instituted a scholarship program for foreigners and even Africans to study in any African university? The Covid-19 pandemic has negatively affected everyone’s lives across the globe and this virus which originated from China has also affected black people beyond just being sick or dead. In China, blacks were maltreated by officials yet Chinese were not accorded the same disrespect in Italy. Why? The Italians know the enormous value the Chinese contribute to their society and the repercussions which would follow should they maltreat them for introducing the virus into Italy. Does this mean blacks in China don’t contribute to Chinese society? No, but at the same value as the Chinese do in Italy? No. China has invested in Italy more than any black dominated country has done in China. Heck, the Chinese own a historic Italian brand as Pirelli https://www.reuters.com/article/us-pirelli-ipo/chemchina-gave-up-pirelli-control-to-show-its-market-friendly-face-pirelli-ceo-idUSKCN1BT0YB https://qz.com/280247/china-is-buying-up-italy-one-company-at-a-time/

Vote PETER OBI for a better Nigeria.
Only fraudulent people will vote a pretentious fraud like Peter Obi, just like those bambialla people who voted Bubu in 2015 because of his Milo sachets poverty postures.
SteveDGreat: Peter Obi Movement has demystified the word Structures in Nigeria. We have set up a new meaning of Structures that will stand the test of time.

The A-looter Propaganda Congress, APC people should not be trusted one bit. How many millions of passengers moved daily on the light rail since June 2013 that he said it would be ready five months earlier in January? All talk no action thieves and rogues.
Recently the Lagos State govt promised Cable Cars that are to be completed in 2015 (an election year). Are Nigerians still so gullible? The Sunburn Yatch is gone and no where to be found. Lekki Airport will be operational by 2012 - is it? Please where is the light rail that was to be ready in June? Are you one of the gullible?
anonimi: TTC in talks to sell old trains to Lagos. Are they safe enough? AUGUST 10, 2011
As Toronto trainspotters gleefully take maiden rides on the TTC's Rocket, commuters in Lagos, Nigeria may be about to get some new trains of their own. Our old ones.
A TTC spokesperson has confirmed that the commission is negotiating with a private group to sell up to 260 used train cars to the West African megacity's new transit project.
"I can confirm that the TTC is in discussion with a third party that wants to purchase trains for Lagos," said commission spokesperson Brad Ross. "Over a period of time, they will be taken out of service and then transported over to Nigeria."
The cars being considered for sale are the TTC's old H-5 and H-6 models, which will be decommissioned as the TTC rolls out its new fleet of Rockets. Ross predicts the earliest they could be shipped to Nigeria is sometime in 2012.
Traffic snarls are already a major economic problem in the Nigerian capital, a booming city that will reach an estimated population of 25 million by 2015. A new above-ground rail system designed to carry 1.5 million people a day has already broken ground, and Lagos Governor Babtunde Fashola has said it "will be the most multi-dimensional and most impactful" of the government's efforts to reduce traffic congestion.
Fashola visited Toronto earlier this year to inspect the TTC trains.
The Lagos deal would be the first of its kind for the TTC. Decommissioned cars are usually sold for scrap metal and can fetch up to $1,500 dollar each. While Ross declined to discuss specific figures, he says the sticker price for Lagos is "significantly more" than scrap prices, putting the potential profits to the TTC in the millions of dollars.
It is not unusual for technology from western nations to end up in poorer countries. Marketplaces in Africa and Asia are flooded with North American clothes, computers, and even cars, but the purchase of larger technology like trains is rarer.
The cars will have to be significantly refurbished to fit existing infrastructure in Lagos, and some Nigerian media reports have lamented that the government appears to have settled on "tokundo," or used, trains instead of brand new vehicles.
Although half the cars are more than 30 years old, Ross is adamant they are perfectly safe and are only being decommissioned for capacity reasons. But he also admitted the TTC is not required to make sure the cars meet any safety standards before selling them.
"Once sold, it's up to the new operator to ensure they are in good working order," he said. "They do need to be maintained much more frequently than the new trains, simply because of their age. At some point they will run out their useful life."
Murtaza Haider, director of the Institute of Housing and Mobility at Ryerson University, said the age of the cars is definitely a cause for concern.
"We should be ensuring that there is some service life left in these vehicles and we're not going to be playing havoc with the lives of those who would ride these vehicles," Haider said. "There's metal fatigue, and that metal fatigue could result in dangerous conditions. I would be paying a close watch on this for the next ten years to see how many accidents do happen in Lagos."
He also warned that while rail systems are glamorous as far as transit infrastructure goes, they are not always as effective at reducing congestion as other options. Nevertheless, new rail systems are frequently preferred because governments can take advantage of kickbacks from large contracts.
According to media reports, the cost estimates for the Lagos rail project have varied wildly from $1.2 billion to $30 billion. In 2010, a Nigerian government watchdog accused Fashola's government of widespread corruption.
"More often than not, politicians favour rail transit because it is more expensive," Haider said. "It's almost useless in some cases, and less productive in most cases, than a bus system. But you can't buy busses for $30 billion. You can inflate prices and make a lot of money buying a rail system."
Igboland: Another thread for Yoruba to exhibit it superiority over the hate filled tribe that nurtured it offspring with endemic bigotry n chronic hate for the Yoruba tribe.
When they tell you Tinubu Muslim Muslim ticket remind them they are the ones that labelled Osinbajo fake pastor. They hated a Christian Obafemi Awolowo just as much as they hate MKO Abiola. To Yoruba forming woke na all of us go gather chop am when you n the likes of Adebanjo Bode George etc are done fooling yourselves.
Useless Thiefnuibu who cursed and abused Awolowo family by proxy without doing any of the progressive things that made Awo a reverred person among Omoluabis? Are you being a comedian by associating Awo with Thiefnuibu
Babasessy: Jun 08, 2011 The Awolowo rebirth in the Southwest has inspired gongs, songs and rhetoric of sorts. But they have missed one point.
It occurred to me in Abeokuta last week amidst the big crowds and euphoria of the swearing-in of Senator Ibikunle Amosun as governor. In all the states from Lagos to Edo, where Awo has witnessed ideological resurgence, hardly a single family member has played a role.
So we have an Awo family without an Awo. That is an irony. But history overwhelms us with this sort of twist. Obafemi Awolowo toiled for his reputation. His roots were lowly, he toiled to school both home and abroad, launched into careers in law, business, journalism and eventually politics. He carved a niche for himself, and became the first methodical and charismatic leftist in our history. Other leftists abounded but they did not inspire comparable drama and following.
He faced tribulations, went to jail, failed in elections, won a few, but he imprinted his ideas and legacy in the country, and no single mortal has beaten him in the history of this country. His greatest achievement was in the area of ideas, and that was how he fashioned a family. Most families are born of biology but his issued from ideology. That family suffered with him.
In a spoof of Jesus Christ, these were the men who followed him in his teachings, and endured with him in his temptations. So he formed a kingdom for them in the Southwest, in the old Western Region, presiding over his projects, his legacies and people.
In all of these, the family he had was not his flesh and blood. In another spoof of Christ, who were his family anyway? Those who were with him must be counted as his family. So, I combed in the ambience of Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), and I found none. I went to Ogun, I frisked the crowd under Amosun’s bower, hardly any. Around Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Osun, I could not lay a finger. With Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti, where are the forbears of Awo? Yet, I can hear the chants of Awo. Hardly in any of the inaugural speeches or any of their other public intervention would you miss the philtre and filter of Awo from these gentlemen. To parody Novelist Joseph Conrad, they are the sparks from Awo’s sacred fire, the messengers of the might within the man.
Already all of them are pursuing the legacy ideas of Awo: free education, free health services, infrastructural development, urban renewal and economic engineering.
Lagos has posted itself as the John the Baptist. The others are putting up valiant efforts, and the world of course is watching to see how well they will perform. It will call for great work, resourcefulness and cooperation. They are the real Awoists, and Awo was a man of rigour and vigour.
The Awo son that many expected to take after the father was Olusegun, who unfortunately died in a car crash. We shall never know if he could have pulled it off. But the others have not shown much of the paterfamilias’ brio and depth. In the past decade, under this republic, they have blended with the wrong crowd. Even H.I.D, hobnobbed with Alao-Akala, who brought illiteracy to governance; with Oyinlola who turned the grace of office into a hell-hole of despots; with Daniel who could not arrest his quick fall into megalomania.
I wrote once that this woman whom Awo once described as the jewel of inestimable value has lost value to his cause. If he came back to life, he would have committed the extraordinary act of divorce after death. Even his newspaper, The Tribune, has so stumbled and fallen that it swims in Awo’s vomit.
Groucho Max, one of the funniest satirists in American history, said of a man that he got his looks from his father. Then he quipped, “He was a plastic surgeon.” That means the son is not his real son, or he did not inherit his natural looks. Ideologically, when we talk of Awo’s family, the chief inheritor is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the leader of all the others. He was the one who stuck his neck out. He could have lost his life or ended his career in politics. The so-called real Awolowos who bear his surname cannot come up for mention. They are Awolowos but not Awoists. They stabbed their father in the back. They have committed ideological parricide.
The only person that made a real try was Awolowo-Dosunmu in the early 1990s and she lost roundly. She was accused of trying to ride her father’s coattail. Political families are good for democracies. They can exemplify the high ideals of diligence, dignity, ideas, character. We have seen these in such families as the Kennedys, the Adamses, the Roosevelts, the Ghandis. They just don’t claim family. They appeal to the high ideals that endeared the families to their societies.
It’s also an irony that these families are falling into twilight. Some of them have vanished. Enoch Powell, a British MP, once gave us the famous line: “All political lives, unless they are cut off midstream at a happy juncture, end in failure because that is the nature of politics and human affairs.”
Columnist Ambassador Dapo Fafowora adverted to this idea in a recent outing, and I debated it with him afterwards. I don’t believe that a political life should be judged by how it ends but what it means. The quote is often missed by many who mistake “careers” for “lives.” A political life should be judged by its legacies. If we judged Awo by how he ended, we would look at him only as the loser to Shagari. That is why I see an intrinsic mischief in Enoch’s quote. But I would agree that political families end also in failure if you judge how they peter out and not the legacy.
Awo’s legacy is alive and well. Members of other families in flesh and blood can carry on. Immediate families tend to suffer from what an author, Noemie Emery, describes as dynastic curse. The children tend to be intimidated by the standards set by the fathers. So they just don’t want to try. They feel they cannot match them or come even close. The problem probably comes from the fathers themselves. The Adams, who produced important presidents, later gave birth to moral vagrants and drunks. The Bush daughters showed themselves as party girls when their father was contesting the political battle of his life.
But Joe Kennedy groomed his sons assiduously, and they excelled in politics. They also had a fair share of tragedies. Ted Kennedy regained his sobriety and voice in America after a season of debauchery. In Nigeria, we are seeing the Sarakis fade. A Saraki – Bukola - is wiping out the Sarakis from politics. It is a classic case of oedipal tragedy, something I predicted earlier this year on this page.
It is not late though for the flesh-and-blood Awolowos to join their father’s fold. But they must be genuine. Awo was the most important Yoruba personage in history after Oduduwa. They had stellar men like Oranmiyan, Balogun Latosa, Lisabi, Sodeke, et al. None of them had the unifying vision and organisational acumen that Awolowo gave the race. The wife, children and grandchildren should not watch others glow in his jewel without them. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/columnist/monday/sam-omatseye/index.1.html
Assuming Lagosians are smart enough to revolt against the rogue who has been fleecing them since 1999 of IGR, allocation, loans etc without providing pipe borne water in every building.
The lack of state-owned pipe-borne water in the homes of Lagos residents has continued to be a source of concern, a non-profit group, Corporate Accountability and Public Advocacy Africa (CAPPA) has said.
At a press event to mark this year’s World Water Day, the group said its monitoring team’s visit to state-owned waterworks showed that most of them are not operational.
The group said the waterworks it visited include the ones at Maryland, Mushin, Ikorodu, Obalende, Agbowa, Onikan, Ikoyi, and Amuwo Odofin.
Only the one in Ikoyi is producing water, according to CAPPA.
Potable water still luxury 23 years after return of democracy
WHILE the Federal Government continues to proliferate the country with dams, it is such an irony that a state like Lagos, with its massive, constant boast of being a megacity, cannot provide its residents, thereby forcing the bulk of them to take solace in the arms of water boreholes.
At regular intervals, the two major waterworks in the state, the Adiyan, and Iju get grounded leading to the non-availability of water. In April and May last year, for instance, they both produce less than 10% of their installed capacity.
As of today, Eti-Osa, Apapa, Victoria Island, Badagry, Ibeju Lekki, Surulere, Ikorodu, Agege, Ojo, Mushin Kosofe, and most locations in the state are without access to clean water. Consequently, millions of residents now rely on boreholes, rivers, rainwater, as well as comprised wells for their water needs.
On its website, the LWC claims that it has a total installed water production capacity of 210 million gallons per day (MGD), which is far lower than the current estimated daily water demand of 540 million gallons per day.
Also, its plan to produce 745 million gallons per day by the year 2020 through the Lagos Water Supply Master Plan fell flat with the actual number of citizens having access to potable water dropping, rather than increasing 11 years after the launch of the master plan.
A senior staff of LWC, who preferred anonymity said that at present, its agency only supplies water to Lekki, parts of Ikoyi, Victoria Island (VI), Ojodu, Iju, and some parts of Ikotun.

Fear and guilt has always being their tools.
The two work on those who choose to be ignorant of their Bible, and are poor in spirit as a consequence.
You may wish to take note of the only comprehensive text on tithes for Jews, from their Lord God of Israel. Harvest festivals of some churches is the closest thing to tithes.
Deuteronomy 14 KJV 22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always.
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee:
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose:
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
