lexy2014: Has d petroleum sector been deregulated d way d telcoms sector was deregulated?
Was that not the ultimate goal of Jonathan that prompted the silly protest orchestrated by ThiefNuibu, Barawo Bubu and other Association of Past/Present Criminals, APC demons
Timekeeper: But borrowing to buy cars for senators Borrowing to loot Frustrating citizen nko All these are responsible abi.. Can't we just terminate all these people like Ghana did..
kikero: They paid subsides because Nigerians wanted it and because if they didn't, we would have been paying 200 naira for a liter of fuel by 2015. If not more ( Of course, removing subsidy would in the long term be good for the economy, which was why APC was silly in protesting pdps removal in 2012)
Three years after deregulation of the telecoms sector in 2000, were we paying higher for telephone services than we were under NITEL monopoly? Not forgetting the millions of direct and indirect employment.
kikero: That sadly is what we have been doing for a long time. Time we faced the reality and stopped Though the leadership too is to blame. Diversifying the economy or at least cutting subsidies in petrol and paying it for power may help the poor somewhat.
Really? Where are those who said we should not stop in 2012? Can someone please look for them and summon them here
blingxx: sure why not ...davido doesn't roll with tauts area boys and hoodlums are obviously outside hailing him ..laslas lekki and oshodi no relate
Stop trashing our incoming governor laik dat. He is ordained so by the landlord of the entire Lagos. And money is not a problem either to mobilise the area boys to intimidate the more populous but lily livered citizens away from the political process.
FrMbaka: Yoruba people(Lagos Media) When ever they are drawing cartoon of corrupt politicians in Nigeria, they always use Igbo, Hausa or Ijo in their cartoon. I have noticed this for many years. You won't see them showing Tinubu's or someone in native Yoruba dressing in cartoons as corrup. They should continue the hate attack, it's cool for them.
You don't know that the particular cartoon was from the Lagos media. That is one. Two, who is stopping the other regions/ethnic groups from having dominant media? Three, the hating among the two main southern ethnic groups is sweet music to the owners of the Fulani Government of Naijeriya, FGN. Four, the cartoon of corrupt politicians below must be from which media? Lagos, Enugu or Kano?
Didi2d: But if we don't vote for them, they automatically becomes our councillors, governors and president. It's more than just voting, Nigerians need to wake up and resists unfavorable policies
Was that not what we were doing that brought us this misery that we mistook for messiah
It is just part of the change promised by the progressive comrades of integrity. Let us enjoy it with the association of Past/present Criminals, APC zombies who packaged the shitty scrap as our saviour from clueless Jonathan.
Blue3k: The clown governor never misses. The name is extremely lame. The fact he wants to make a tourist attraction intentionally inaccessible is very weird. Aren't there better of controlling traffic? Before committing to another white elephant they should understand why the other projects like Tinapa failed and why Obudu is struggling. Lol who am I kidding this just phantom project like the super highway, Bakassi deep seaport and Obudu International airport Ayade talks about.
In summary, it is just a bogus scheme for looting the state's money. Finito!
BIGGESThead6: Trash. Mention 10 projects Ugly and incompetent Obaseki did in the last 4 years
Are you blind to not see the zillion acievements in various sectors and projects posted already on this thread? Anyway, all followers of Barawo Bubu and the Association of Past/Present Criminals, APC must be blind . Otherwise how do you stay loyal to the source of your poverty, hardship, unemployment, insecurity that have looted your past, present and future altogether? Did he not increase fuel price, electricity tariff, exchange rate etc despite the Covid-19 pandemic recession? So heartless. Winchious people.
Laboni: If you make all these mouth and you don’t win, you will become another GEJ... Incumbent who don’t know how to use his power.. , All mouth, no substance..
How far with the attempted coup by the state assembly lawmakers organised in the house of their acid-throwing cultist and thief thief sponsor? Is that how Iya mumu will pocket the assembly if, God forbid, he becomes the governor?
arterxerxes: "I Was A Cultist Of A Fraternity" - Pastor Ize Iyamu (video)
Pastor Ize Iyamu, the Edo PDP flag bearer of the forth coming Governorship election in an interview agreed of being a one time member of a fraternity in University of Benin. He also agreed to being expelled from the university before being accepted back after two years to complete his school as lawyer.
obailala: Did the minimum wage decrease in 2015? If the govt currently still pays the increased wage, or even higher wages today, how exactly does this point count?
Thr Almajiri schools, how many were they and how much did they cost? In your opinion are they really the massive projects that account for the govt loans in billions of dollars? From my understanding, those were little projects which even stare govts can easily cover.
The universities which were built, how many were actually built from scratch? A couple were just upgraded polytechnics or colleges of education. The ones built from scratch, how many physical structures were actually built by their take off dates?... Meanwhile, even under the current regime, new structures are still being added to those unis under the tetfund budget (which is financed under current loans). If you think these count as justification for loans by the last admin, why shouldnt they also count as justification today?
The old narrow gauge railways were refurbished between Lagos and Kano, a brand new one also built like you said between Abj and KD up to 80%. But isnt the current admin also doing a similar thing with another loan between Lagos and Ibadan? Also a loan was used to complete the final works on Abj to KD and between the Warri-Itakpe route (with new stations). You may also want to add that the loan was used for airport renovations but dont forget a loan was also taken by the current admin to complete the Abuja runway and terminal, the PH airport terminal, the Enugu runway etc...
So armed with this info, why do you still claim the last admin used their loans wisely but the current admin is wasting the loans? Why exactly do you place the entire debt burden blame on the current admin (which has much reduced income, and a better justification for loans), but you exonerate the last admin which also took massive loans despite higher revenue?... Must everything be politicised?
I certainly don’t understand that change means continuation of the same things that people complained about.
CioAngels: Pa Buhari, APC should be asked, who looted the 21billion dollar WB sent to Nigeria to help cushion effect of Covid-19 for the poor Nigerians?
Please ask the woman who spent billions feeding school children by WiFi during the lockdown.
GoodGovernance: God bless you.You indeed have spoken my mind. His heart is as ugly as his face. Oshiomole remains the architect of modern Edo. Only those who were still toddlers when PDP was ruling Edo before Oshiomole came, would not appreciate this fact.
Is it by behaving like a power drunk agbero thug like Kabaka that one is the architect of modern Edo?
Woke up with strength and vigour this morning and was up to face today with all hopes and aspirations but was sad & almost started crying after watching this video.
I've been an advocate of leaders been strong at all time with will power to carry out leadership responsibilities. And that emotional leaders don't go far but certainly not this way.
In leadership and governance, there's a place for 'Human face' no matter the circumstances. Widows to the best of my knowledge are integral part of our society and if we don't apply human face when dealing with them, am afraid we are far from getting there as a people.
Two wrongs indeed can never make things right and as such, can't fathom why the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams A. O. will treat this widow like this and even tell her to go and die when she's struggling to provide food for her family. I think it would've been far better to make her pay a fine for her wrong doing than this humiliation.
Redhot111: Comot for there joor. You know nothing about what plays in edo. My governor has spoken and we must retire that tailor from Edo politics just the same way we brought him down from his party leadership position he once occupied. Watch out
Ha, please have pity on the fake comrade na. At least consider all his endless shouting to repackage the acid-throwing cultist and thief.
RuudVanNisteroy: Adams Oshiomhole told the world that Ize Iyamu was a cultist who was rusticated after he deformed another student by pouring acid on him and also a thief who looted the state dry when he was Secretary to the State Government, under convicted thief Lucky Igbinedion.
Creamz: If the government had built refineries or better still sold the ones we had to other people who would make them work, the country wouldn't be spending hard earned FX on importing fuel. We might have been buying fuel for N50 now who knows? It's really sad to know that all the promises made were cancelled (APC) What Nigerians need right now is a visionary. If not the problem is far from over.
Why are you so confused- asking government to build refineries while simultaneously asking that the existing ones be privatised? You better clear up your head and say what you want clearly- government ownership or privately owned?
Jonathan licenced Dangote to build the refinery in Lagos. Obasanjo sold the refineries, but Barawo Bubu's fellow incompetent man from Katsina reversed the sales.
Esseite: Ambrose Alli University Renovation - Civil Service Complex - Link road between Edo and Delta - Ogbemudia stadium. - Navis road Benin (Concrete tarred) - Gele gele seaport - Edo jobs (200,000) - Azura Power project - N25bn Bond with Nigerian Stock market - Benin industrial park. - Benin Modular refinery. - 200 primary healthcare centres - Edobest for Teachers and instructors etc
Can you help me with one Ize-Iyamu project anywhere in the world including himself, despite being In Edo Govt btw 1999 and 2003 as Chief of Staff and 2003 to 2011 as SSG?...
When you are done reading, kindly enumerate 10 things Oshiomole, Lucky, and by extension Ize Iyamu did for the same State while they held sway.
After that, do well to point out Obaseki's sins.
I honestly want to know what he did wrong. I am mon-partisan, whatever will grow Edo is all I'm up for.
Thanks.

dre11: FLASHBACK: Oshiomhole once wanted building named after Obaseki for ‘selfless service’
Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), once said Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo, worked for the state using his brain and creativity.
Oshiomhole, who praised the governor during the governorship campaign of 2016, said a building at the government house should be named after Obaseki for his selfless service.
Oshiomhole said while he was governor of Edo, Obaseki helped him build the economy team of the state with his network.
“I know my limit. He knows his limit. Godwin Obaseki has worked for seven and half years for the people of Edo state, using his brain, creativity, quietly, not making noise,” Oshiomhole said.
“He sits in the office of the economic team which he built using his network of friends inside the heart of government house without demanding one naira.
“A man like that who will not ask me to give him contracts, but will promise me, comrade, you just do the thinking, we will create the means to actualise your thoughts. And to his credit today, check the books of Edo state, we did not build new structures in government house with government money. That economic team office was built through Godwin’s network. Today, it remains a permanent asset of the state government.
“I want us to be calling that building Godwin Obaseki building. I don’t see your opponent Ize-Iyamu being able to say that. In 2007, check the records, Ize-Iyamu was hiding from EFCC. He didn’t not vote. How can somebody who didn’t vote claim that he made me.
“If you have to look at Godwin and his credentials and you look at a man whose only work, by his CV, was a student and rusticated for two years, he read law but he is not a barrister. That is his foundation. I never gave him government job. Lucky Igbinedion’s mother was reported to have slapped Ize-Iyamu for misleading her son. He tried it with me, but we kept him away. Nothing near government circle. No access to public funds.
“Look at the road to his house, in our books, was dual carriage way. They took the money, constructed the road to his house and stopped. Although we have liquidated the godfathers politically, the entire political family will be liquidated.”
