1. I will charge you 1% interest on the 30,000 Loan you asked for monthly ie 300 monthly (for 7 months makes 2,100) 
2. you will pay the entire interest of 2,100 at once in month 8 ie May 2024 and not with your monthly 4,000 payments
3. you will pay back 4,000 monthly instead of the 5,000 for 7 months (oct, nov, dec, jan, feb, mar, April) and 2k balance with interest in may (total 4,100)
4. To show you i am a partner in this and i want this to succeed as much as you or even more. i will invest an extra 6,000 to rent the shop (free of any obligations or payback) - This will be used to rent a shop for 4 months.
5. If you still choose to sell your Gen, then that is on you but i want to make sure i do all i can to make sure this startup succeeds, and we remove as many stumbling blocks as possible or pressure.

Finally, i will ask you if it's possible you share biweekly and monthly progress updates here in the group for others to learn as we progress. 

Let me know your thoughts on my response and also confirm exact day of repayment monthly and mode of repayment. Also please ask any questions that may not be clear from my response above.

c. capital to restock and enable business continuity or growth.
3. Explain what renting a shop will add to your business for profitability, and have you considered investing that extra 9k in your business at least in the initial stage.
4. since i am loaning you, should there not be interest on my returns monthly. Why should i take all the risk and you all the reward. What risk are you taking to ensure this business succeeds?

Yes. What I mean is that I have a buyer who dey ready to buy my Generator for #14,000 cus the gen need some small repair. So I plan to use #9000 (rent is 1500 per month since I'll not be using electricity) of the money to pay for 6months shop rent. The remaining money will be added to #30,000 I will need from you to buy goods.
If you decide to borrow me the 30,000, though it's from this business that I will be feeding myself but by God's grace, I will be paying 5000 per month, and even more if business is going fine. So please give me a repayment period of 6months to pay everything back. I understand it's not an easy thing to trust a stranger but give me an iota of doubt. That is why I'm asking for a breathing period of a month before starting repayment. One thing is by God's grace I will surely pay back. Thank you.

So during yersternite's duty, this Lexus ES300 Uber/Bolt driver carrying 3 girls drove to my pump for fuel of #3,000 (5 litres) requesting to pay via card, which the POS machine declined (I think it's Zenith card). On letting him know, he pleaded with me to try again.

Normally, I don't try a declined card twice on my pos to avoid 'debit without approval' (a situation where a card is debited but isn't approved by the POS transaction) customer wahala. I do tell them to check another pump if they can't make transfer. But I had pity on him due to the way he was pleading so decided to help out as he wasn't having cash, neither could he do transfer.

Due to the rush in my pump, I gave him the POS machine to hold while it's connecting, so I could attend to other customers.

Brethren, that was my second biggest regret this month (first one was someone that did transfer of #6,000 to my First bank from opay because Access bank transfer wasn't going throughout that day, up till now, I'm yet to see that one) cos some moments later, this dude legit looked me eyeball to eyeball and told me approved[/b] to which I asked again, approved? Which he repeated loud and clear, Yes, approved bro.[/b] but it was a big fat lie. It had declined again.

My motive of asking was to confirm because I had ran out of paper roll so I couldn't print it out and dude was in a hurry begging me to sale for him first when I insisted to go and get a paper roll, so I didn't bother to verify if it really approved by going back to 'reprint' to check the status of the transaction. I just swallowed his words — hook, line and sinker.

It pains me most from the bottom of my heart 💔 because this is money that I was supposed to add and pay my faculty fees — deadline is tomorrow (I was lucky enough to borrow from a colleague) But this dude and several others effortlessly scammed me and put me in huge debt which would be debited from my salary because I decided to trust my fellow county men.

I still have the failed transaction receipt, and will keep it well. I will upload the pics when I get home in the morning. Though, I don't think I can recall the guy's face if I should see him again, but then, miracle no dey tire Jesus!!


My advise to you all is; 'In all your doings; [b]"Never trust a Nigerian — dead or alive." I have learnt my lessons, albeit the hard way.[/b]

You made some really nice points but are they based on reality of circumstances for the common man.

How easy is it to make friends with the DPO or Bank Manager or how common are those things. What percentage of the people have that opportunity/access. Until loan sharks (loan apps) infiltrated the nigerian financial sector, how many regular people were getting loans from Banks

Also people always talk about side hustles (usually biz and the potential returns you can make). ...let me remind you that not everybody is built to do business or has what it takes and just like not everyone can do a 9-5. Playing to your strengths whatever they may be is fundamental to any business

Some of the things that I think can fix extremely low pay in Lagos(Nigeria) is if people start getting paid hourly …
All jobs can be reduced to an hourly rate and even if you’re salaried your hourly rate can still be determined easily.
This can have such a huge effect on productivity and dignity of Labor and govt policies for living wages or cost of living

I love a healthy argument when I see one especially devoid of insults or childish tantrums so kudos to you guys for keeping it clean.

This goes to my other point about when you insinuated 500k could afford you a better than decent/average life in Lagos. I respectfully disagree. This is not to knock those earning 200/300 or 400k or even minimum wage but there is a fundamental problem when people can’t find dignity in labor or enjoy the good things in life and you just exist. Working everyday till old age and retire barely enough to feed then fade. That’s not living, it’s existing. Lagos is really expensive and it keeps increasing. Working in vi and not being able to afford a decent family house before iyana ipaja or after Abraham Adesanya is not gainful employment. Keyword being gainful employment which is what is lacking in most jobs in naija …

I’ll stop here for now (we have not even talked about the main pull for most people that leave which is The sanity and basic amenities that improve quality of life) there is also the benefits of not traveling which has very strong arguments under certain conditions . it is you that understands your business and how it can work, avoid pitfalls and be successful, hence it is your job to convince a potential investor how they can make the most returns on their investment. This translates to so many things like where will you setup, who will you sell to, what's the profit on each, what's the sustainability of the biz, what's the turn-around time and so many others etc. so if you can't catch the interest of an investor in 1 page to get them to ask for more details then your proposal is missing vital info.

so, while i am not sharing in your profit or asking for returns, i expect the biz to still be run as such afterall I am being asked to provide the whole seed capital. it is my hope that the business will be successful and stand on its own in the shortest possible time. you have provided nothing to inspire me from a business/humanitarian angle hence leaving me with only 1 option. I have a few questions for you:
1. what exactly are you asking for? please be as clear as possible (meaning whatever response you give, make sure you read it yourself and are satisfied that whoever is reading won't need further information). Just saying things like i need money/assistance to re-start my business in not only insulting, it reeks of entitlement. neither i nor anyone else owes you anything.
2. Would you do anything different to how you approached your business the last time if given the chance.

If i need information/verification, trust me i will ask. it is not like all those things can't be faked so its is not my primary focus. Finally, you have problems and i have problems. we all have our problems, but we need to be objective in our approach. if you want help based on sentiments/emotions then that will be giving you a token (probably help you feed for a few days) but if you want help for business then it has to make sense or i would just be wasting my time.

How can i help? and before you say you want to restart your business(abaya) and i should support, please note that you have said that before and to several other people on this forum and if nobody has taken the mantle up till now including me, then it won't be a sufficient answer this time either.

Consistently quoting all my posts as succeeded in bringing me out of hibernation (even if it does not work again in future) and i am genuinely here with open ears to see what can be done. so please, help me to help you with your response. Make it make sense how for over a year you have been talking about this "abaya" business. what happened to it the last time? why would it be different this time? what have you been doing since then? is abaya the only way? etc these and many more are reasons why probably most people and myself have been unable to take you up on your request.

To those trying to email me. let me apologise again and state clearly that i dont reply to emails. it is a personal decision.

I created a dummy email to simply communicate with the original Op since it was his topic and i needed to find a way to send him the funds (BTW for those asking, i did not send him any funds as i was going to do my due diligence anyway). I simply used the opportunity of that email to receive "sensitive docs" fbabs wanted to send to me. it was not an avenue to open private communication with him or anyone else and hence my response to him in public.

I have no intentions of checking that email account or monitoring it but it may serve a purpose on Rare case by case basis.

I am explaining this so those emailing me do not feel ignored or disrespected. this is a public forum and as such i would rather all dealings remain public. if you had reached me in my personal capacity/offline then that is a different case
