Religion / One Of The Easiest Ways To Be Deceived by anu3: 9:49pm On Sep 22 |
One of the easiest ways to be deceived in these last days is to Love preachers/pastors more than God's Words. That's idolatry, the worship of men. It says Woe to him that put his trust in man. Jer. 17:5 1Cor.10.14 - So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols. To many, the pastor/church ideas have more authority than the Bible—no connection with the Holy spirit. Meaning they trust the words of the pastor more than God. Hence, they don't even read the bible for themselves. In Matt. 24, Jesus warned that even the elects could be deceived. So we really have to love the truth to escape. 2Thess.2.10 - and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Rom.3.4 - Of course not! Though everyone else in the world is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say, "He will be proved right in what he says, and he will win his case in court." God bless |

Religion / The Need To Count The Cost First by anu3: 9:02pm On Jul 27 |
As a person who used to like watching wrestling matches before, I came across the testimony of a great wrestler recently. I found it very interesting because he spoke so nice and convincing about how Jesus helped him deal with issues with drugs and stuff that could've possibly destroyed him. The video clip seemed too short for me so I decided to Google more about him. But alas, it turned out it was actually an old video. He surely did go back to his old business after the encounter. His riches (fame, money, power) caught up with him like it happened to even king Solomon and the rich young ruler that met Jesus. The rich young ruler seemed blameless in keeping all the laws, but Jesus was like, "Look, you worship your money/possessions (too attached), all right, go and sell all and come follow me. Then it says he went away sorrowful. The problem wasn't the riches but his attachment it like an idol—it's become a god to him. And many of us too are still stuck with many things the world considers great: money, position/status, good looks, family background, assets, education, gifts and talents, etc. We've not counted the cost yet but playing religion, ministry or church. These are not evil, but if we're attached to them or worship them according to the world, then they will hinder us from pleasing God. Luke.14.28 - For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it-- Matt.19.24 - And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." God bless |

youngsum: In your case, I would just move on. It's ok for be to be cheating themselves by cheating me. I've learnt one thing before and after my stupid days, what they call karma, I call God's judgement is very real. I thought I made away with lots of wrongs in my younger days, but later I realized Jesus is Lord. So I pity such people... |
Religion / Not For Fans by anu3: 11:25pm On Jul 15 |
Jesus did not come to make Fans but Disciples... Far too many christians today are mere Jesus' fans. Fans main job is simply to cheer up their admirers or idols or performers by clapping or shouting especially when they're happy with them. While a disciple is one who does—not just hears or reads—what Jesus says: Mark.8.34 - When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Mark.8.35 - For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. Are we disciples or just mere fans that Jesus doesn't even recognize because he's not like a celebrity... He's king and master. May the Lord bless you. |
Religion / The 3 Counterfeits by anu3: 9:43pm On Jun 22 |
Just thinking about the relevance of what Paul said about the 3 items of religious falsehood in 2 Corinthians 11:4 in our present world, then the work "counterfeit" came to mind. Did a quick Google search and it came out: a fraudulent imitation. A good picture of the passage: 2Cor.11.4 - For if he who comes preaches "ANOTHER Jesus" whom we have not preached, or if you receive "a DIFFERENT spirit" which you have not received, or "a DIFFERENT gospel" which you have not accepted--you may well put up with it! Another Jesus is the type that wouldn't conform to the new testament in terms of self denial and obedience in general. Matt. 16:24 A different spirit condones or make light of sin. It's that which doesn't necessarily lead to holiness nor repentance, but mere religious activities on the outside, or show offs, or regular activities peculiar to a church. Rom. 12:1 A different gospel focuses more on popularity and money making. Just religious words entertainment and church membership, not necessarily repentance and a change of life. Having crusades or evangelism mainly to get people to join the "church business". I must confess, from experience through the years, due to the lust for money and popularity, most popular church movement, pastors, gospel singers are promoters of these counterfeits with christian whitewashes on top like bible knowledge, eloquent sermons and spiritual gifts to fool their followers. Very few are different. No wonder Jesus said narrow is the way, and few find it; and it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle... I don't judge anyone, but it says test every spirit whether they're from God (1 John 4:1). If we're in doubt, please let's check ourselves and these great pastors, christian actors, musicians (and now comedians) we're following even more faithfully than God's Words. Let's check if there are real Fruits not just gifts or leaves (religious words, gifts, appearance and things). When Jesus came to the fig tree, he could not find any fruit but leaves. And he cursed it. Leaves are like these church activities, religious or good words and appearance, etc., we do. Could be good if they're grounded in good fruit, though. Otherwise, it's dead. Even though people are impressed, not God. Meanwhile, real Fruit is about loving God and keeping his words according to the new testament (John 14:15 or John 15:14). That's how to be sure we're not mere followers of great men of our time. "Let no fruit grow on you ever again." Immediately the fig tree withered away." Matt.21.19 That's serious... We surely don't want that to happen so we've got to wake up... May we get Mercy and Grace, and not get cursed

Religion / What's The Mark Of The Holy Spirit In A Person's Life? by anu3: 5:59pm On Jun 22 |
It's not necessarily about speaking in tongues or any special gifts. It may not even be about doing good works in church; having humble appearance or speech; preaching or evangelizing. The mark of the Holy spirit is about the Fruits, not just the gifts of the Spirit. Jesus did say many who exercised great gifts would come in the last day and he'd say to them, "I never knew you, away to Hell!". Matt. 7: 21-23 For instance, the mark of an evil spirit is it makes its victim evil; also the mark of The Holy Spirit is to make a person Holy (again, not necessarily about speaking in tongues, prophesy, etc). Paul said, "I wish you all spoke in tongues" (1 Cor. 14:5). Which means not all have the gift, and he said the gift of prophecy (to speak in such a way to encourage others) is greater, and it should be more desired. Hence, the mark of the Holy spirit is to make us Holy in fellowship with Christ. He gives us power to fight and overcome sin. If we truly have the Holy spirit, he'll lead us to hate sin and worldliness. He'd teach us to Love: loving even our enemies or unlovable people. And to bring glory to God in all things we do. We would start loving what God loves, and hate what He hates. So if we're not repenting and turning away from the false glory of the world which is rooted in pride, the love of money and sinful pleasures, then we surely don't have the Spirit yet, or we're probably backsliding gradually. And then we need to wake up and get right before Him on time. May the Lord bless you. 1 Like

Even at uni back then, our class gov. got super red with me cos I didn't vote for him to become the department president or something... I could only vote for sheep, but none are His sheep. FRANCISTOWN: Friend, you need not read it either. It might be useful for others who wish to think anyway. The truth is still that we'll have to reap what we sow—whether we like it or not, it won't change anything... I can even give it to anyone in writing with my signature, in fact... Cos it's a universal rule God's put in place in life or death... It also says the wages of sin is death... God bless. |

Sapasenator And about church, well, it might interest you that I've not been regular at common organized church for about 10 years now (since 2014) due to common church corruption around. At my new area, I saw one along the road a while ago I planned to check just yesterday. And I think they know what they're doing, so I'll try again next Sunday before I commit more or not... Sapasenator: Ok bro... I was only trying to spare you. If you knew the type of person I was, you might be tempted to rethink. Even my old mates are still rather shock with my sudden change since 2010. No problem then. Continue to do wrong if you want. I just pray God gives you room for a second chance like me — not everyone gets the opportunity, though. But if he does, you may want keep me in your testimony in future. God tries the easy way but we wouldn't listen... But the hard way (like mine), which is the second chance is not always guaranteed for everybody... And remember, you're chatting with someone who was once like you but later got a first-hand experience. The thing is people do have to get Ripen for judgement before they see—after warming up for sometime. Ecclesiastes 8:11 ► King James Bible Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Romans 12:19 King James Version 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; "I will repay", saith the Lord. ◄ Proverbs 11:21 ► New International Version Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free. Revelation 22:11 ► New International Version Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy Galatians 6:7 King James Version 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. ◄ Hebrews 10:31 ► New Living Translation It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. It is when calamities hit that people start shouting or blaming God. Not knowing why he allows such... Be warned, friend. I'm not selling anything. From experience, I can only warn you out of love... Go and ask people in present calamities right now Deep Questions... They'll tell you if they're kind enough... |

I thought I got away with lots of trash many years in sec sch. and all, but when it hit, to my shock I wasn't smart at all... EreluRoz: Well, sis... I'd say if you aren't a born again child of God yet, please don't bother looking for another. Going to many organized churches is a waste of time. But once you come to the realization of repentance and obedience to Jesus words in the new testament, then God can lead you to go to the right place. God bless 1 Like 1 Share |

hookupagent1: Friend, my advice is start seeking God's face first. Even some with high paying jobs are more depressed than you. Getting a job is not the end depression except God's face is on one's life generally. If you're willing—and not proud, greedy and impatient —he can simply help you to start small and grow gradually—speaking from experience. He says seek first His Kingdom and "others" will be "added. He allows situations to remind us that we need Him. It's even dangerous to find those things first... Remember the story of the rich fool... May Jesus bless you 2 Likes |
