Without sentiment... I am not here to support T.B. Joshua nor to defend Pastor Adeboye but Emeka(the columnist) appears not to know much about prophecies. Someone can help him see what the likes of Jerimiah and Jonah went through prophesying. Also to know that even though He shares with his prophets what will be,the load nor the priviledges would not be for any single prophet always. No,not even Pastor Adeboye and T.B. Joshua always. (when the widow's child died,God didn't tell Elisha either). He's just still a columnist yet to be enlightened about the truth. |

Unknown Member: ...And to serve God must we look like an harlot? So to say that those dressed in harlot's attires are pure in heart |
I believe he won't. He'll get from anyone that owns one when He has need for it..."Tell Him that the master has need for it" and they'll willingly give it to him. |
solbil: i want someone to ans my question. Why cant a man get married at the age of 22 even if he can afford it and a woman can marry at that age? What has the woman got that made her more qualified for marriage than the man at the same age.You still don't get this our Nigerian mentality. She(the lady) most likely have nothing at 22 and shifts/expects that the responsibility of providing everything is the man's. That aside, there are many men and women over 30 that are not yet married--most are not by choice but due to conditions beyond finance and the so called maturity. Some of them don too tey--so tey dem no sabi when, how, and where to grab it. They just realized that they still don't know so much to enable them find themselves married. |
Earth's size. Forget about figures, you can only imagine how big and huge earth is. There's no single force (man made or natural disaster) that can move the earth at any single point so that it world be felt everywhere. Not even from opposite geographic poles in Nigeria;say a disaster in the north that will move the earth so that it will be felt in the south. |
Hello NL I heard one afrobeat song by a nigerian artist. He was singing against campus cultism. From one of the lines that I can remember, the artist was praying and mentioning the names of the cult groups. It's something like: Lead vocalist: Buccaneer Back-up: Amen Lead vocalist: Sea dog Back-up: Amen Lead vocalist: Sea cat Back-up: Amen Lead vocalist: yellow pant Back-up: Amen Lead vocalist: Black pant Back-up: Amen Lead vocalist: Eiye Back-up: Amen Lead vocalist: Keye Back-up: Amen And so on. Can anybody give info about the song and the artist? Thanks. |
Dear Bible teachers, et al In John 14:27, Jesus said "Peace i leave with you. My peace i give unto you: Not as the world giveth, give i unto you..." My interest is on the coloured emphasis above and it's "how does the world giveth?" Please, bible citation, illustrations, and general counsel are welcome. Thanks. |
In as much as this admonition is good,I find these statements(which I quoted below) so baseless but from ppl who (can be liken to) be bearers of rumors and false teachings. stagger: God removed his hand from matchmaking after Adam told him "it was the woman you gave to me that gave me of the fruit and I did eat".Ignorant and baseless genearology from unbiblical sources who just say things to get undue attention. Prove your position scripturally. pat077: That's why God says he who find a gud wife..... And not he who pastor finds a wife for.Another display of misinterpretation of scripture. He who finds a wife does not mean that the man was the one that (by his own choice) just took anyone (without God's consent) and married her. He who finds a wife means "he who has seen a wife" Find means seen while seek means looking/searching for. The man you're quoting, king solomon, also said that God still (from this scriptural indication) choose wife for men.Read prov 19:14. |
@Ihedinobi and all:very sorry bout the wrong quote--typo. It should be Luke 12:42-48 "But he that *knew not* and did commit things worthy of stripes *shall be beaten* with few stripes..." Though ignorant,he still won't be spared. |
Ihedinobi: Also, anukulapo, the 14th chapter is not that long. What passage did you mean?14th chapter of which book? Mark or romans? |
Guitarlife: I don't mean to sound antagonistic buddy but, what point have you made. Do not only seek to denounce heresy but advance the truth. Infact advancing the truth is far more important than denouncing heresy. Yeah I'm a say it again, advancing the truth is far more important than denouncing heresy.
"I don't mean to sound antagonistic buddy but what point have you made. Do not only seek to denounce heresy but advance the truth. Infact advancing the truth is far more important than denouncing heresy. Yeah I'm a say it again, advancing the truth is far more important than denouncing heresy."
"I don't mean to sound antagonistic either but if you think I am,how then am I wrong for pointing out that the points made are not biblical? I did ask a question so that he can justify his beliefs(which he made public) with scripture. So simply because you said "I don't mean to sound antagonistic buddy..." Does that make you not sound antagonistic? All public post as subject to scrutiny, criticisms and appraisals and the bible does admonish to "be ready to give an answer to those that ask..."
And my proof like you always panted for is found in the great commision ,we should go out and preach the gospel right ? Sure we were not asked to annouce that islam is evil which is tantamount to denouncing heresy but only to announce the good news that jesus died for your sin . Maybe when you are done telling the whole world the gospel and it is converted then , you may regale us with stories of the evil of islam. But then, know that your knowledge of the evils of islam will not get you to heaven. In reality, it wont get you anywhere. What I am saying is that there are far more important things than attacking fellow believers.
Questioning and charging people(regardless of whether they are in or outside the fold) not to teach things that sound spiritual but are not necessarily true and certainly not biblical is not in my judgement attacking fellow believers. What do you have to say about these injunctions from Titus 1:8-14,1 tim 5:20,2 tim 4:2-4,titus 2:15,gal 2:11, and their likes.
He may not have a scriptural refference to what he just posted cos the bible does not touch on all things only the holy spirit will. So christians should understand that the legality of an action spiritually could be subjective.
I wish to understand your position. You have only come out at me for questioning him and you're also indifferent about him not providing a correct scripture reference and neither did you. Even if the bible does not touch on all things,it neither said what he did posted about God's approval of David. So,do correct me if I'm wrong. Like I said earlier we ought to judge things by the spirit and the word(doctrines behind them) and not promote "things that sound spiritual but are not necessarily true and certainly not biblical"...what do you think of deut 13:1-3?
So you may be a professed christian but not a son of God. Now do the maths for the other issue cos I'm tired of typing now
You may wish to clarify the above quote sir. Thanks. |
*David was a man after God's heart "because" he understood the mystery behind spiritual songs* @OP:Your statement as quoted above, can you justify it with scripture(s)? You seem like you've been feed with a lot of cooked-up idea about God and music. @Loj: * As usual, the *deepest topics* are the ones Nairalanders prefer to avoid. Deepest topic? Like this one? I wished there were revelations in the post. Just a gratification of a choir/music admirer whose post is scripturally baseless. Grow up and read the post over again |
Good explanation and to back up one of you points "However, ignorance or not, the moral value of the act remains the same. Those first two students did in fact fail" Luke 14:42-48...tips can also be gathered to buttress your point from there and from the parable of talents too However,my last post have not been cleared. Attn:all and goshen360 Thanks all. |
There is no way a person who has faith (by this I mean born-again and spirit-filled can commit sin) Perhaps if you like we can walk through what it means to be born-again: If you don't mind, What do you understand by being born-again?
A little back-up for ATMC's question. Don't suppose that the question is way off track. The apostle you quoted above also said in 1 john 2:1 that "...if any man sin..." Pointing to the possibility of committing sin by a believer for in verse 2 he said "...not for ours [sins] only, but also for the whole world[the unbelievers also]... |
Mark 16:17-18 KJV . And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; ... Many have been questioned "are you born again with the evidence of speaking in tongues?" The above scripture seems to be their reference and instances from the book of acts. I wonder why they don't ask of other signs like "...with the evidence of casting out devils" or "...with the evidence of drinking deadly things and not being hurt?" And so on. We know that "if any have not the spirit of christ, he's none of his" Therefore,if the evidence of receiving the spirit is tongues, non tongue speakers are not going to be with christ for & in eternity? Thanks. I await your clarifications. |
K. Thanks all. Your answer helped a great deal. When I remember another,I'll post. |
Well, can't say 2 cor 8:9 is twisted but won't mind getting it straight. "For ye know the grace of our lord Jesus christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich." Is this not a back-up for our financial prosperity? But, this is not in perfect correlation with christ's words about money and from the letters of paul and peter and james. Thanks brethren. |
@Tobechi, I think you meant beware of lust and not beware of women.
^^^Better presentation. With reference to my former post,OP's portraying "being deceived and used as a stumbling block" (take not of "being deceived" as implying that...*A WOMEN IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE STRONGEST AND WISEST MAN... SHE CAN MAKE A MAN GO AGAINST HIS/GOD'S WILL * is really absurd. |
@OP:Obviously,many viewers of this thread (I guess) don't know what to say about your post. As much as you are pointing to those stories from the bible,it's obvious your young (christian mind) has not fully grasped the gender issue in christianity. Your post's concept it like that of anyone who wants to tell about how powerful the devil is. Move on bro...learn and post bout other important thing to christianity. Not the gender play. |
How funny it is to see that logic mind;OP's logical mind is not logical enough to logically deduce logicr. Aim at one logic or divine. LOGIC: Compare a snake to the likes of a centipede or millipede nd do a logical deduction if it was possible that snake ever had legs. If you don't believe the divine, you should believe science/evolution/logic. "What if" the curse that was divinely placed on the snake manifested as what your ppl refer to as evolution that made the snake lost it's legs? (what if= a logical operator) DIVINE: Ask God or find for no man can convince you about the story in genesis for it was not written in this age. It may be that the story is symbolical nd not literal. Only that your mind has been puffed up nd you can't humble yourself to ask God. Maybe you are hardened or he has hardened you. |

What's the big deal of talk from some christians and the numerous ignorant, blind pagans in these thread? "We are one" is not equal to "we are equal"-----john 10:29,30, 17:22, 14:28 so,stop your foolish argument and putting of sensation into plain issues. Abeg |
@ all: Don't let's be quick to judge, it could be a drama group. there's no proof that its gat anything to do with anointing. For all i cae, this could just be one of the ways to bash christianity by some fanatic unbeliever. tlops:Good observation. Her feet is wrapped. Could be a drama group. Abeg!, poster, find another thing talk. |
Behind every successful man, there is a woman.--does this apply to lionel mercy's greatness?Tiger woods?Father Abraham?Pastor Adeboye?Steve Jobs?Aliko Dangote?George Weah,Mark Zuckerberg (facebook), Seun Osewa(nairaland) ![]() More to come. |
I believe leaders are born not made.only that their skills can be enhanced by training(my opinion). So,many followers(if they are born so too) will remain followers and won't question. Like the DSTV ", if you find you doubt,if you doubt you questioned,if you questioned you understand and if you understand you know,if you know you want to know more, " Against the above way of life, many swallow things "hook, line and sinker". Do you? Post some philosophies you question here by questioning them. Here's one of mine. Empty barrels make the loudest noise (as spoken by many in a faulty generalization manner), like Mohammad Ali? I hope this topic belongs here. If it doesn't, please moderator,do justice to it. Thanks. |
well, there are neither male nor female. what is is that these spirits can assume any form(and for the purpose of relating with humans, they assume masculine for and why that?--see 1 cor 11:3) simple, water under certain temperature(for it to freeze) can assume any for depending on the container it is in. also,God being refered to as father is because He wants us to see a relationship(father-son relationship). such relationship is as it ought to be among humans. that though father and son are both male,it is clear that one is the fruit of the other. God is a spirit and can also assume any form. |
