Politics / Re: Did Obama Really Propose To Fund The MNTF To The Tune Of $5 Billion? by anulaxad(m): 12:16pm On Jun 16, 2015
Lies, lies, lies, and more lies. Why on earth would America give 5 billion dollars to this task.

5 billion dollars is more than every other country surrounding Nigeria's annual budget. People are so gullible. America is going to put down 5 million dollars in the funding for the joint task team. Not 5 BILLION people are so gullible.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-africa-33118885

If you scroll down on that page you will see this:

The US says that it is providing $5m (£3.2m) of funding for the multi-national task force that has been set up to fight Boko Haram in north-east Nigeria and elsewhere in the region.

The Assistant Secretary of State for Africa Linda Thomas-Greenfield told journalists that the US does not see Boko Haram as just a Nigerian problem.

She added that the US is in discussions with the new Nigerian government and is looking for ways to bolster its support.

The same Abiola who's whole agenda was based on ridding poverty.
He's manifesto was called 'farewell to poverty'.
He was born into a very rich and influential family, hence why many Nigerians trusted him not to steal, the same reason why many Nigerians voted Yarua Adua. Did Yarua steal? No.

He was voted by all groups, cultures, religions and people of Nigeria. A man who loved this country so much that he stood his ground in Jail instead of being a coward and giving the head of state rights to Abacha.

Foolish hypocrites. You want us out of our no man's lagos which we helped you develop but when Asari threatens you with succession you scream one Nigeria.

Do you see how confused and foolish you Tajus are in that your Southwest?

To begin, what is the point your trying to get out with.
We recently just learnt Tinubu just blamed Buhari of the victory of Saraki. So who is really scared.
You spew so much trash and hateful comments, but one of your own Jonathan ruled this country for an amazing 6 Years with the highest amount of oil allocation this country has ever seen shocked, and what tangeble development did we get from him.

The man left us with an oil scarcity, he left us with 63 billion dollars debt and worse of all he left us without curbing the insurgency.

Obasanjo left with clearing our debts, he left with no insurgency plaguing the country or fuel scarcity, the average nigerian was paying 60 naira or less with the government still paying subsidy, so who really are you trying to call Southwest; more like jonawaste.

Control your mouth, because I know for a fact especially if you live in Lagos that you can never get away with such vile comments.

So, I accompanied my dad to Abuja today because
he had to meet with Buhari to congratulate him and also to discuss other important issues. They spent a lot of
hours in the meeting while I waited in some kinda room I
think it was the waiting room where I helped myself with
all sorts of refreshment.

Fast forward after the meeting, the president alongside my
dad came into the room and there my dad introduced him
to me, he asked me few questions mainly about my
university education and my plans after graduation which
I answered and then I requested to ask him some
questions too, he then replied I should make it snappy.
Being a political science student, I asked him few
questions concerning his plans for Nigeria in the coming years and then a thought just popped up in my mind to ask him if he visits or is a member of this forum knowing he's a good lover of social networks... He then smiled and replied yes, out of surprise and curiosity, I asked what his username is, he then replied he can't let me into that for some personal and security reasons. He then smiled and left with my dad. I then thought to myself, Wow! This man is
really friendly.
I must urge people to ignore this statement.

He said the exact same thing about Jonathan literally a few months ago; literally the same thing but just replacing the names.

Nigeria's EFCC arrests top bankers over 'mega scam'

From the section Africa

Boxes were allegedly filled with newspaper cut into the shape of banknotes
Nigeria's anti-corruption agency has arrested six senior central bank officials over an alleged $33m (£21m) currency fraud.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) also held 16 private bank workers for the "mega scam".
The suspects stole "tonnes of defaced naira notes", which were meant to be destroyed, it said on its website.
Newly-installed Nigerian President Muhammudu Buhari has pledged to make tackling corruption a priority.
The arrests were made last week, before the president's official swearing-in ceremony, and so should not be seen as part of Mr Buhari's promised clampdown on corruption, reports the BBC's Will Ross from Lagos.
The move is more likely to be a show of strength from the EFCC, in an attempt to prove its relevance, our correspondent adds.
The suspects allegedly filled boxes supposed to contain damaged currency with bits of newspaper cut into the shape of naira notes, before sending them to branches of the Central Bank of Nigeria for destruction, according to the EFCC.
The actual banknotes were held back so that they could be reused, it adds.
The EFCC suspects the scam of incinerating newspaper instead of old notes has been going on for years and has been on such a scale it has put inflationary pressure on the economy.
Many analysts say the EFCC has been extremely weak when it comes to fighting corruption as low-ranking officials tend to be investigated rather than so-called big fish who appear untouchable, our correspondent says.
The suspects are to make their first appearances at the federal court in the city of Ibadan on Tuesday.

Politics / Re: Subsidy 101: Q &A On Subsidy. by anulaxad(m): 12:13pm On May 27, 2015
gohome:

Answer

The subsidy issue is not shrouded in mystery. You have chosen to be ignorant. The average price of PMS around the world is about 1.1 dollars per liter. That's 220 Naira per liter. Poorer countries pay this. We produce 2.2 million barrels per day, rich countries like Russia US, China, India UK Brazil that produces up to 5 times more oil than we do pay this. Poorer countries like Haiti Angola Gabon also pay this. Even poorer and remote villages in Nigeria, burutu Nembe, mambila pay 200 plus for a liter. So what is the problem with it all gone? I'm 2012, sanusi and Iwealla with Allison went round TV stations explaining the steps to fully deregulate the downstream sector, no one listened. 65 Naira or nothing was the chant. I remember when Sanusi said the best way to put a fire out is to eliminate the source of the fire.

It was shame that GEJ and his ministers did not have the political tenacity to completely do way with this fire. Buhari seems to have it. He will remove it, fuel will sell at 180-220 per liter

You accuse people of ignorance, but are you really reading what you are saying.

How can you write and claim so much illegitimate information, can you imagine, How is India, UK and Brazil producing more oil than Nigeria.

I will not waste your time, take a look:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_production

But if that wasn't bad enough, you are telling people that they will have to pay higher once they remove subsidy ( how many average Nigerians can even afford oil at 87 Naira talkless of 200 sad ), what will they be paying for as the refineries do not work, so this leaves the question what oil will Nigerians be using .

In simple words,no refinery as of right now is working, Buhari has to fix these refineries and if he can get them working at maximum capacity Nigerians can enjoy their products at an ever so low price (according to you) of 87 naira and possibly lower as Buhari as recently hinted.
