A female lawyer identified as Omobolanle Raheem was reportedly been shot dead in Lagos State yesterday, December 25.
It was gathered that the lawyer was allegedly killed by a bullet fired by police officer of the state command.
A source familiar with the incident said the deceased was on her way to a church Christmas service when the unfortunate incident happened.
The eyewitness stated that her husband was the one driving, while Barr. Omobolanle was seated in the front with him.
He said, “the officer asked them to park and they needed the vehicle in front to move so they can park well, and immediately the police officer shot at a close range right into her chest. On seeing what happened, the remaining police officers on duty there absconded.”
“Her body was said to have been taken to a morgue by officers from Yaba,” the witness added.
The spokesperson for the Lagos state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin has confirmed the incident. He said the officer has been arrested.
The lifeless bodies of a couple have been found dead in Enugu State after they were kidnapped two weeks ago.
The victims were identified as Mr and Mrs Okonkwo of Ukpata community in Uzouwani LGA, of Enugu state.
It was gathered that the bodies were discovered in the forests yesterday evening, December 10.
A source familiar with the incident said the bodies were discovered by ESN operatives deployed by IPOB to checkmate armed herdsmen activities.
It could be recalled that a son of the now deceased couple raised an alarm over the uncertain whereabouts of his parents, who were said to have gone to the farm and never returned.
The bodies of the slain couple were discovered with certain parts missing. The bodies were being evacuated by the community’s youths.

The air component of Operation Whirl Punch has reported to the Kaduna State Government that several missions were conducted at various locations of interest in frontline areas.
According to the reports, following credible intelligence of bandits gathering around Ukambo, Chikun LGA, air platforms targeted the location and struck it successfully. Similarly, the hideouts of bandits identified as Alhaji Ishiaka (in Igabi LGA) and Dan Rani (in Birnin Gwari LGA) were targeted and destroyed with rockets.
Furthermore, terrorist camps in Janbirni as well as Takaura, Kuyanbana forest, Birnin Gwari LGA were targeted and destroyed.
The Kaduna State Government was also informed that ten kidnapped citizens have escaped from a bandit camp following armed reconnaissance conducted over Damari Forest in Birnin Gwari LGA.
Four escaped victims, originally from Damari, have been identified as follows:
The other six escaped citizens were identified as: - Malam Alawiya - Maimuna - Adama - Garba - Ahmad and - Luka.
The six were visiting Damari from a neighbouring state when they were kidnapped. All ten citizens have since been reunited with their families.
In another development, troops of Operation Forest Sanity conducted fighting patrols along the Gyam-Kuriga-Manini-Udawa-Buruku road in Birnin Gwari LGA.
Contact was made with bandits around Labi Gyam. After a 25-minute exchange, the bandits withdrew from the area. The troops dislodged the camp and recovered one AK47 rifle, seven motorcycles, nine rounds of ammunition and one Baofeng radio charger.
Ground and air patrols will continue in these areas.

A former Local Government chairman in Benue State was reportedly attacked by thugs after showing up at Governor Samuel Ortom’s senatorial campaign rally wearing Atiku Abubakar’s t-shirt.
The former Ushongu Local Government Area Chairman, Asawa Joe, lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital after political thugs descended on him for wearing Atiku’s t-shirt.
A source at the scene of the incident stated that Asawa was attacked alongside other People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidates’ supporters at the rally.
The source further stated that the attack was carried out on the orders of the governor, who has been in disagreement with the PDP national leadership.
Asawa took to his Facebook page to share photos of himself lying on the hospital bed while stating that he had just regained consciousness.
NDLEA arrests wanted Abia drug kingpin, declares another wanted
. Seals hotels, mansions, bank accounts linked to them, recovers exotic vehicles
One of two brothers who serve as major sources of illicit drug supplies in South East and South South parts of the country, Onyeaghalachi Stephen Nwagwugwu, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA after nine years of being on his trail. The elder brother, Eze Kaleb Stephen, who is also wanted, narrowly escaped during the overnight operation carried out simultaneously in their two locations: Umuahia and Ntigha Okpuola community in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia state.
Investigations show the two notorious brothers began a career in the illicit drug business since the late 90s when they started as pocket dealers before they later established smoking joints/bunks in their community, Ntigha Okpuola and subsequently grew to become barons; owning Hotels, Houses in choice areas of Abia, Rivers and Imo State, with exotic cars in their homes.
The NDLEA has been on their trail sine 2013 when they organized a mob attack on some of the Agency's operatives who attempted to apprehend them during a raid. At least, one of the officers attacked then is still bedridden till date. The two drug lords equally own armed militia guarding their houses and drug stores, where they deal in assorted illicit substances like Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine (Mpuru-miri), Loud/Arizona and all sorts.
Fresh bid to bring the duo to book and end their criminal trade was launched four months ago, leading to a simultaneous raid operation on their locations on Saturday 26th November 2022. While the younger brother, Onyeaghalachi Stephen Nwagwugwu, who lives in Umuahia, the Abia state capital was successfully arrested, the elder brother, Eze Kaleb Stephen, narrowly escaped when his Ntigha Okpuola community home was stormed by operatives backed by men of the Nigerian Army. In the course of the operation, one of their militiamen, Eberechi Kingsley Monday was also arrested.
During the raid, quantities of cocaine and variants of cannabis were recovered from the two houses while the Agency has so far sealed two hotels, one eatery, two mansions linked to them and recovered three exotic vehicles from their homes as efforts are ongoing to trace more of their bank accounts and properties.
The identified hotels include: Jahlove Hotel, Mbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North LGA; Noicyhl Luxury Hotel, Aba -Port-Harcourt expressway, Aba and Royal Cruise Fast Food, Enugu- Port Harcourt expressway, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, all in Abia State.
Reacting to the development, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), CON, OFR, commended the officers and men of the Agency involved in the operation as well as men of the military who supported them for their professionalism. He said it is in the interest of the fleeing baron to turn himself in before the Agency smoke him out because there would be no hiding place for him.

Troops of Operation Forest Sanity rescued nine kidnapped persons during fighting patrols to suspected bandit hideouts in Kaso, Chikun LGA.
According to operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government, the troops engaged bandits on the Tantatu high ground, as the bandits abandoned their camp fled further into the forest.
The troops searched the camp and rescued nine kidnapped persons, identified as: - Salama Oliver - Husseini Odu - Danjuma Jakanwa - Ezekiel Garba - Obadiah Moses - Taiwo Isaac - Buky Isaac - Ado Adamu - Maigari Shekarau
Initial debriefing of the rescued victims revealed that they had all been kidnapped around the Gurara Dam area.
The troops also recovered 90 cattle left behind by the fleeing bandits. The animals will be handed over to the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Authority for proper identification.
Further clearance patrols to Bawa Rikasa hill led to the recovery of four motorcycles belonging to the bandits.
The nine rescued persons will undergo further debriefing and examination before being reunited with their families. Fighting patrols will continue in the general area.

final-year student at the Federal University of Kashere in Gombe State has reportedly committed suicide.
It was gathered that the victim identified as Zwalnan Lar committed suicide yesterday night, November 23.
An eyewitness who found his corpse said he dropped a letter and according to the letter he drank poison and subsequently hanged himself.
In the note he dropped, he appreciated his elder brothers for everything they’ve done for him and stated that his mother should take it easy with herself.
He said he didn’t know the meaning of life because his father has millions of naira and he can’t afford a smart phone worth 50K. He also mentioned a young man named Napyir, saying that he was the root cause of everything.
According to a source, a girl who was his girlfriend before the advent of the ASUU strike got married to another man. Upon discovery of the lady’s marital status following the suspension of the strike, he accused her of betrayal.
In the letter, he equally named the people he owed debts to and explained how they should go about collecting their money. He added that he would miss his mother and elder brothers and also tendered an apology to them.
The Nigerian Army checkpoint at Afor-Uzo Junction, Isuofia, was reportedly attacked by a group of gunmen this morning, November 12.
Salemgists learned from sources that some of the group’s members met their deaths in the unsuccessful assault.
The courageous and vigilant security officers gave them a quick pursuit and immediately exchanged gunfire with the attackers, neutralizing four of the gang members.
It was gathered that the Toyota Venza with which they launched the deadly operation was recovered.
It was learned that the Toyota Venza they used to launch the homicidal operation had been recovered.
The development is confirmed by the Commissioner for Information in Anambra state, Paul Nwosu.
