leanonme82: Hi, thanks for this info. Apparently the homeland security at the border control already ordered for our social security numbers when we landed and we had no idea. I went to the social security office and they said it was already ordered and we should expect it via mail.
Please can i ask how much it is to apply for the green card for the applicant and each beneficiary? You submitted the information required for your social security number while filling the DS260. Green card fee is $235 per head and it’s advisable to pay for everyone at once. |

aiguobs: Ok. Thank you . Please how long did it take after payment for you to receive your green card. I entered on the 22nd of November and the tracker says my card was mailed on the 6th of December so give or take 2 weeks. The important thing to note is they start counting from your date of entry if you paid before coming, or the date you paid if after. Also as someone previously mentioned, your visa stamp can serve as a temporary green card for a year. |

aiguobs: Good evening all. Please how do I track my green card? https://egov.uscis.gov/ Enter the receipt number generated after you paid and it will inform you of the status. Either that they’ve received your payment, ordered that your card be produced, or shipped the card to you with an estimated date of arrival. |

aiguobs: You will have to pay the sum of 220 dollars before you can get your green card. It would have been better if you paid it here in Nigeria before you travelled to reduce your wait time when you get to the US. $235 now, although your visa serves as a temporary green card for one year. Visit https://my.uscis.gov/accounts/uscis-immigrant-fee/start/overview to conclude the process of payment. |

leanonme82: Okay. Did you upload all your photos evidence of relationship evidence stuff on the CEAC account before the document review? I did not upload any of this and took it physically. I uploaded everything and still took the physical copies. My photo album was too big to fit in the sealed envelope so I was advised to just bring it during the interview proper. |

leanonme82: Hi how did your interview go? It went well. Didn't spend up to 5 minutes. Interviewer confirmed I had done DNA during USCIS process, then returned my documents. Asked routine questions like if I or my wife have been previously married, any issues with law enforcement or immigration, have we lived outside the country before and are the kids our biological children. He confirmed our financial sponsors made enough to cover us and asked who lives with my mum. That was all. Kept our passports and by the next day the status had changed to issued. Was at OIS before the end of the week and we scheduled free pickup for the following week. |

internationalman: Since November? God forbid oh😔 But how come
These people just intentionally want many people to fail and get the delayed, otherwise they would have specifically painted out what documents are missing at the In-person document review. Like you said, what's the usefulness of it.
I went very prepared, I had my petitioner and my joint sponsor's tax papers up to date. The only problem was that my joint sponsor's own was individual income tax return (form 1040) which is also acceptable in place of IRS transcripts. Now they say they are only going to be accepting the IRS transcripts for the interview. And they never deemed it fit to tell us at the In-person document review..
Now I have to start another game of waiting. This whole thing is just so exhausting even for my petitioner and joint sponsor. I have informed the joint sponsor though and he said the document will be ready in 2 weeks..
What's even more tiring is the fact that I have to travel to Lagos from Benin every damn time and lodging in a hotel, coupled with the risk associated with traveling along Nigerian highways. This interview made it 4 times I have been to Lagos in one month. Even if I want use flight, I go fit use flight to and fro 4 times? Thanks for this, was the 1040 refused because it wasn’t accompanied with the relevant W2 or they just rejected it outright and requested for the transcript? Cos I’m in a similar boat and nothing was mentioned during the document review. |

Please correct the areas indicated below. Once completed, click the Make Payment button to continue: An error occurred while submitting your payment. Please try again later.”
Did anyone experience this, and how did you get around it? Very frustrating error message. What worked for me was making sure the email entered on the form matched the email on record with the bank. However my sister faced the same issue just a few weeks later. I don't think there's a solution other than to keep trying at random hours. NVC were no help at all. |

crisycent: Hello Gurus in the house. I am an F4 applicant, I received an email (appointment letter) from NVC and my appointment date is stated in the letter. Please I have a few URGENT questions.
1. Do I have to register on https://www.usvisaappt.com/ or should I attend the interview with just the letter since the date and time is stated on the letter?
2. I registered on https://www.usvisaappt.com/ (as per instructions on the prep website) but I get an error message whenever I input my case ID. My case ID starts with LGS *****. Am I wrong? is there a different case ID? I also tried the Case Master ID, same error. (Picture attached).
3. What is the correct process/steps of confirming interview on https://www.usvisaappt.com?
PLEASE NOTE: I just signed up on https://www.usvisaappt.com today. Do I have to wait for a few days before confirming my interview date? Don’t think you have to register to confirm your interview appointment. Saw this on a facebook page.

happney65: Any right thinking person will know that statement is false. As in very false
Even Lagos state that is the most financial buoyant state in Nigeria courtesy of it being a former federal won't get 30Billion naira not to talk of other states.
You think 30Billion is 30Million or 300Million?
Akpabio even said "Unverified reports" A whole senate president saying such. Doesn't he know his words as senate president carries weight?
I was waiting for Seyi to reply him and he did well
So in all these crisis it was just 2Billion they have given the states as palliative and they are already asking for it.
You can see the federal government is inherently wicked Each State got N7bn monthly from October to December as Infrastructure support. Then another N9bn in January as share of signature bonus. This is outside the normal FAAC and VAT allocations. If my Governor isn’t aware of this N30bn, he should ask his Accountant General and Commissioner of Finance. |

Codemine: Please help!!!
I have an ongoing US immigration VISA with the details below:
PD: June 2014 ND: Sept 2015 DQ: June 2020 Visa Category: F11
The wait is really tiring. Only reminder emails for almost 3 years. Now I am married because for how long will I continue to be unmarried because of US.
I want to try UK student VISA but I have done a marriage certificate, my concern is that would this marriage certificate affect me even if I remain silent on it to the US and pretend to remain unmarried to them?
What can I do to ensure that by the time US calls me, there won’t be issue with my marriage certificate because I don’t want to my category to moved to the married category which would even make the wait very much longer. Please house, advise me on what to do please 🙏🏽 Once you’re married, you’re no longer F1. They’ll return your case to NVC and you’ll be reassigned to F3. PD for F3 is currently December 2008 so you face a much longer wait. If you decide not to disclose your marital status and they don’t find out, then you may get the visa/green card but it will become much more difficult to bring your wife over later as you may need to explain the discrepancies in your documentation. Worst case scenario, you will be seen to have committed immigration fraud and lose everything you’ve worked towards. Not trying to scare you, but just weigh your options wisely. |

Cutie1973: I heard it too, they only accept the one with finger print attached now. They don’t accept the online version. I think is better to do the finger print attached one. That’s what am doing now. What category are u and ur PD? F3, January 2010. The issue is I visited my State Police HQ and they said it's only the biometric one they do. I'm not in Lagos, I'm not sure how to go about getting the one with finger print from here. When I was F1 back in 2016 before being pushed back to F3, I was able to do it here and they dispatched the documents to Alagbon. Now they're insisting on the online one only. Or should I attach the old fingerprint page with the new online PCC and submit? NVC really needs to update their requirements! |

I’m confused, I understand the embassy accepts the new Police Character Certificate which is issued online with biometric capture at the State CID, but I’m also hearing that NVC only accepts the old PCC with the fingerprint page attached. Who has been able to submit the new PCC to NVC successfully? I want to avoid any delays to becoming DQ’ed in the shortest possible timeframe. |

leakage01: Same boat, former F1 with PD January 2010. Received welcome letter in 2016, paid fees and all. Got bumped down to F3 due to marital status. Expectation was a 4 to 5 year wait, but we have passed the 5 year mark already and still a few months off getting current on the second chart and getting the welcome letter again. Best advice is to keep your focus on whatever it is you're doing right now and try not to think about it too much. The important thing is your PD wont change, so add like 5 years to your wait time.
Same boat too... PD September 2009, patiently waiting Fingers crossed, next visa bulletin you’ll be current on chart 2 and get the welcome letter. |

At the end of the day, getting married and having kids showed me it's important to plan for the long term and do what is best to secure their future. I also live in the North with the attendant security challenges. So thanks but no thanks, I prefer to take my chances away from these shores. |

It's dicey, since you have a pending petition that is an automatic indication of your intention to immigrate, and enough grounds for a VO to deny you. There has been talk of creating a special visa category for intending immigrants so they can wait in the US instead of their home countries, but it is still just talk for now. At the end of the day, if you can convince the VO that you will return then maybe just maybe... cambellj: Thanks for sharing that’s the beauty of forums like this. I also like to know if it’s possible to obtain a nonimmigrant visa if you have a pending petition? |
