PoliticsRe: Why Sanusi Was Removed As Kano Emir – State Government by APCHaram: 8:03pm On Mar 09, 2020
1) There was a religious riot in Kano in the mid 90's.

2) Gideon Akaluka was beheaded and his head was paraded around the streets of Kano.

3) The security agencies fingered some religious fanatics as being the instigators of the riot.

4) Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was indicted as one of those religious fanatics that instigated the religious riot.

5) Seven of the indicted were summarily executed by Gen. Sani Abacha.

6) Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was not executed because some northern leaders pleaded for his life since he is a Kano Prince (the grandson of Emir Sanusi who was deposed by the Premier of Northern Nigeria and the Sardauna of Sokoto);

7) Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was incarcerated for about two years at the Sokoto Prison.

8. He will later be forced to go on exile to Sudan where he remained until the return to democracy.

Abeg you people should shut up about GEJ. What will you not link to GEJ? Corona Virus? Wilder losing to Fury? Oil price crash? Flooding in Okokomaiko?

You people should stop validating the saying "Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people" .

GEJ was underwhelming and an incompetent simpleton promoted far above his station. That some of you keep idolising him till today is a sign you are simple minds more devoted to tribalism and obsessing about indivuals than ideas which outlive us creatures of flesh and blood.

Like or hate Sanusi, he is a brilliant and great man. Flawed no doubt but men like him will always be prominent and adding something special to society.

With that in mind you need to tell us what your beloved GEJ has done out of office in comparison to his peers to warrant you mentioning him non-stop as if he is Awolowo or Einstein rather than the hopelessly corrupt and incompetent President many were happy to see the back of save those tribalistic beyond redemption.

Do you think the Emir in Nigeria is a centrist

Apart from Ado Bayero, all past and present Emirs have been fanatical Fulani supremacists

Speaking of First Bank..

Sanusi got the appointment through Abdulmutallab's father. Abdulmutalab as you know is the infamous underwear bomber who attempted to blow up an airliner in mid flight.

It is this same Abdulmutalab that lobbied Yaradua to appoint Sanusi as CBN Governor.

The guy was mediocre at best but with solid connections to land him the CBN job.

His role in destroying southern owned banks as CBN is there to see as no single northern Bank went belly up or was winded down by his directive.

The man is a snake - a religious bigot and fulani supremacists!

The CIA shadowy Wall Street monster even appointed him as an executive in 2015.

This was compensation for stalling the Chinese WEF package for Nigeria.

Blackstone thought Sanusi as Emir would be influential in the Buhari govt.

Now, I guess Sanusi will soon be fired by Blackstone!

WHY ABACHA DIDN’T KILL CBN GOV, SANUSI IN 1995…HIS ROLE IN AKALUKA’S MURDER

Fresh facts have emerged as to why the government of late Sani Abacha did not kill Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), governor, Lamido Sanusi, in 1995, after he and eight other jihadists mobilized crazed extremists to behead Gideon Akaluka in jail

Akaluka, a young igbo trader, allegedly desecrated the Koran. He was arrested after his wife allegedly used pages of the Koran as toilet paper for her baby. After he was locked up by the police, a group of Muslim fundamentalists broke into the jail, beheaded Akaluka, and paraded his bodiless head around the streets of Kano.

Pointblanknews.com investigation has revealed the role Sanusi, an alleged Boko Haram sympathizer, and proponent of the controversial Islamic Bank, played in the murder of Akaluka, and why the Abacha regime decided to lock him up for two years for the murder of Akaluka.

Sources hinted that shortly after returning from Khartoum, Sudan where he earned a degree in Sharia and Islamic studies, at the International University of Africa, Sanusi became a recluse and immersed himself in the Koran and became a teacher of the Hadith as espoused by the Wahabbists.

Wahhabism is an ultra-conservative branch of Sunni Islam. It is a religious movement among fundamentalist (with an aspiration to return to the primordial fundamental Islamic sources Qur`an, Hadeeth and Scholarly consensus (Ijma)) Islamic believers. Wahhabism was a popular revivalist movement instigated by an eighteenth century theologian, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703–1792) from Najd, Saudi Arabia.

Sanusi, who is alleged to detests the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, because according to him, it is anti-islam, was part of a nine man clique of extremists who had a huge following.

A source said, “ when Sanusi returned from Sudan where he associated with very extreme personalities, he was not a happy man. he was treated like an outcast in royal circles because his grandfather, was deposed as Emir of Kano. So his anger grew. “

During that period, the incident of desecration of the Koran by the Akalukas surfaced. According to our source, during that period the Abacha government was not comfortable with the activities of the extremists in Kano, who they view with suspicion.

The regime, it was gathered, silently assassinated a lot of them. Said our source “ When Akaluka was locked up, Sanusi and eight others mobilized some extremist mob who stormed the prison and killed Akaluka. The regime identified the masterminds, so mandated its hit squad to eliminate the nine, including Sanusi .”

Pointblanknews.com gathered that eight of the masterminds were assassinated by Abacha, but for the intervention of former First Bank chairman, and father of Christmas Day bomber, Alhaji Umar Mutallab and others.

“ It was Muttallab and the rest who were heavy sponsors of Islamic activities who prevailed on Abacha to spare Sanusi. They are argued that since he has gone through a lot, treated like a pariah in the royal circles because his grandfather was deposed, he should be spared. So They decided to remove him from Kano to Sokoto where he was locked up for two years.” Said the source

It was further learnt that after his release from prison, Sanusi was handed over to Mutallab who pushed him into banking because he(Sanusi) had a degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU). From there he moved to the United Bank for Africa, and the First bank, from where he rose quietly until late President Umar Yar’Adua recruited him to head CBN and spearhead the introduction of the Islamic Bank.

Sanusi's early school days at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria also reveals a violent trait as he was a prominent and exco member of the El Zackzacky Muslim Student Society, MSS.

The MSS had staged series of violent protests that saw to the killing and maiming of fellow southern Students and the destruction of school properties over an agitation to see Sharia law included in the 1979 Constitution.

Sanusi was banished and exiled to Sudan by the Abacha govt after much pleas from prominent northerners to spare Sanusi from execution over his role in instigating religious riots in Kano metropolitan area.

Sanusi was fingered as one of the ring leaders who instigated the crowd to riot after falsely accusing an Igbo Christian pastor's wife of desecrating the Quaran. The Pastor was beheaded and his house burnt to the ground. The mob then put his head on a spike going round the city from where riots began to spread.

The Inquiry set up by the then Military Head of State put the blame on Sanusi and six others. They were all tried in a court of law and convicted. The punishment was death. The other six accused all met their end at the gallows while Sanusi spent 2yrs in a Sokoto prison before being exiled by Abacha to Sudan.

It was widely believed that the motives for instigating the riots was to get Abacha to remove Ado Bayero from office as Abacha had earlier issued a stern warning to all Emirs and traditional rulers that any riots or insecurity in their domain will be heaped on them and from there they will be sacked.

With the humongous debt profile, wasteful spending and high level corruption and looting, Nigeria's economy is set to get worse to the point of a massive recession owning to cash crunch due to expected slide in oil prices to less than $30.

With COVID-19 wrecking production outputs in China, a slow down in output will see a negative demand from crude.

There is also the fact that both Russia and Saudi Arabia are now engaged in an oil war with the two major produces vowing to flood the market to hurt each other's economy. The fallout of this will be an excess glut in oil supply with a sharp decline in demand. This has major oil trading houses predicting a major fall in oil prices to below $30 per barrel.

The Nigerian budget funding has a bench mark of $57 for 2020. Already crude is trading at $46 and the global economic projection doesn't make for higher spikes throughout the remaining of 2020.

How will Buhari service the humongous loans he has already taken.

Is it not time we demand he priotize the loan of $22bn and get rid of the silly $500million for NTA

God help us! The naira will crash to at least 700 to a dollar before Christmas.

I advice you to dump whatever savings you have in Naira and convert it to forex.
