dingbang:
Pope Francis's three-day trip to the United Arab Emirates Sunday marks the first time a pontiff has ever visited the conservative Muslim Arabian Peninsula, where over 2.6 million Catholics reside.

While the overwhelming majority of Catholics in the region are expatriates, according to the Apostolic Vicariates of southern and northern Arabia, the popes journey to the birthplace of Islam is another milestone in his efforts to boost interreligious ties.

Kuwait was the first country in the region to formalise relations with the Vatican in 1968. Yemen followed suit in 1998, Bahrain in 2000, Qatar in 2002, and the United Arab Emirates in 2007.

Saudi Arabia and Oman have yet to establish formal diplomatic relations with the Holy See.

Last year, Saudi Arabia, home to Islams holiest sites in Mecca and Medina, hosted a flurry of representatives of various Christian traditions, as Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pushes for a more liberal kingdom.

In April 2018, Saudi Arabia hosted French Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, who headed the Vaticans Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. Tauran, who died in July 2018, was seen as an energetic promoter of dialogue between the Catholic Church and Islam.

And in November 2017, the head of Lebanons Maronite church, Beshara Rai, paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia where he met King Salman and Prince Mohammed.

Overall, there are more than 3.5 million Christians in the Gulf, of which about 75 percent are Catholics, mostly migrant workers from the Philippines and India.

According to the Apostolic Vicariates, there are more than one million Catholics in Saudi Arabia alone, about 350,000 in Kuwait, 80,000 in Bahrain, and between 200,000 and 300,000 in Qatar, though no official figures exist.

Nearly one million Catholics live in the UAE, according to Bishop Paul Hinder of the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia, which encompasses the UAE, Oman and Yemen.

There are 22 Catholic churches in the region, where worshippers are welcome to visit and pray.

The UAE has the largest number of Catholic churches in the region with eight. Oman, Kuwait and Yemen each have four, while Qatar and Bahrain have one each.

Mass held in churches on Friday, which marks the first day of the weekend in the region, usually sees the biggest turnout.

In the UAE, mass is held at different timings during the week and in different languages -- including English, Tagalog, Malayalam, and Urdu -- to accommodate the different nationalities.

According to the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia -- covering Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia -- Catholics "enjoy freedom of worship within the confines of our parish compounds".

Although in Saudi Arabia, all non-Muslim houses of prayer are banned.

The Apostolic Vicariate added that Catholics face some difficulties by the "restriction on the number of priests, too few churches and limited space in the churches", especially during Christmas and Easter when mass attendance can reach up to 25,000.

"It is also forbidden (under threat of punishment) to engage in any public activity or display of religion, including proselytising (the act of attempting to convert people to Christianity)," says the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia.

While a majority of Christians in the region are migrant workers, there are a small number of local Christians in Kuwait, Bahrain and Yemen.

According to Father Emmanuel Benjamin Jacob Gharib, head of the National Evangelical Church of Kuwait, there are about 260 Kuwaiti Christians from eight extended families.

Unofficial estimates show there are 1,000 Christian Bahraini citizens and thousands of Christian Yemenis.

Every mad person in this world has a grace of maintaining his sanity 1hrs per day depending how severe your madness is!

So within that particular hours of your sanity, if you don't give your life to Christ! Hell is your bedding place.

Madness is like an addiction to something you won't like to stop!

When a demon process you, it gives you sweet and sensational dreams then in return he use your body in the physical realm! If you don't wake up form that dreams! You will still remain mad.

Psychologically teraphy are just the tip of the iceberg to wake a lunatic out of that slumber!

Like I said before every mad person do wake up from that demonic sweet slumbers and decided to go back when them see that reality isn't good for them!

Celebrityblog:
Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, shared this Fox News Video that talks about the hidden health benefits of sex.

She captioned it:

'Have a great weekend people!

You can thank me later.'

In the Fox News Video, the American doctors on the TV show highlighted the importance of sex.

Speaking on the benefits of sex, the US doctors mentioned among other things:

- Burns calories

- Reduces stress

- Boosts immunity

- Lowers blood pressure

- Reduces risk of prostate cancer

- Sex improves your self esteem

They went on to encourage people to do sex, have sex a couple of times a week....

The doctors said, "the more sex you have in a week, the better....."

However, some Nigerians slammed Lauretta Onochie for posting such video that talks about sex online.

See some comments condemning the presidential aide....

Romance / Re: Why You Shouldn't Love Too Hard by apelike: 10:52pm On Feb 01, 2019
Queerlyshrewd:
When a girl begins to like a guy who has been asking her out and she's unsure about him, she always does a background check.
Ask his friends or her friends about him or best, search him on Facebook and carefully go through his profile.

Ladies! Y'all know I'm right.
In my case, the girl I had been asking out found something incredibly implicating on my Facebook page.
It was a post from a year ago.
The post read,
"its foolishness to love too hard, its unwise to invest so much emotion into uncertainty"

She was so upset about it. To her, it meant I never had any true intentions towards her.
In my defiance, I stood by my words to her amazement. I said that life is pretty unpredictable, today,I'm in love with you, tomorrow I might not be. Today, I'm the only one you want to see, tomorrow you'd rather spend time in hell than be around me. One can only promise to love as it comes and that's what I'm promising her, to love her as it comes.

I know right, I'm smooth but you have to agree with me.
Promising heaven and earth in good faith to your partner is such a futile thing to do for obvious reasons;
Primarily, we can't tell the future sadly.
And then, my favourite reason.
No matter how much your boyfriend or girlfriend is in love with you now, the very minute he/she meets A Better Offer they are leaving you or at least, they would cheat.
What is a better offer? A Better version of you.
If she likes you for being smart. She would leave you for a smarter guy
If she likes you for beinģ rich. A richer guy is your better version.
Whatever a woman loves the most about you, the minute she finds someone who trumps you in your expertise, kiss your girlfriend bye or at least, expect that someone else is getting it too.

This is the truth we do not want to admit, this is the truth that is scary.
This is the reason why loving too hard is playing Russian roulette.

The advice is Self-improvement .
I've heard people say things as "Love me as I am", "Real love doesn't try to change you" and so on and so forth but that's absolutely false.
Nobody wants to stay loving you as you're. Everyone Is open to betterness.
The only person allowed to be the same yesterday, today and forever is God.

What you can do?
Improve on the things that attract praises and acquire other skills.
If you're good singer? Be better and maybe learn an instrument to go with it.
If you're a writer? Read more to know more so you can write more.

Read the news, have constructive conversations, listen than speak. Grow a personality that wants to improve.
All these seemingly motivational talk all comes down to this.
Strive to be the desired than the desiring.

Literature / Re: Glory Abah Read 27 Books In January by apelike: 5:25pm On Feb 01, 2019
Amagite3:
A Nigerian writer, Glory Abah, has revealed how she read 27 books in January, 2019.

She explained how she did it and said she's hoping to read 400 by the end of the year. She wrote;

"So I have always wondered exactly how many books I read in a year. I usually estimated 200 or more as the case may be. So I decided to keep count this year and in January, we have 27 books in total.

How did I do it?

1. I always have a book am currently reading. Always! Normally, when I come across good authors, I usually get all their books in bulk and binge read all. If you go through my page, you will notice that I read mostly Penny Reid's books this month. This leaves me with enough books to last me a while.

2. I use every spare moment to read. Normally, I stay awake till 2am, reading. This is not compulsory but when I have an interesting book at hand, I don't know how to keep it down. I also read when I eat. I find the time between chewing and the next spoonful boring, so I use it to read or watch a movie.

3. I love reading.
It's the second thing I cannot do without. Like an addiction. Reality is slow, but in books, I can read about an entire lifetime, centuries even and get my closure. Books give me a warm fuzzy feeling, makes me feel like I am part of something bigger, bigger than Glory Abah, bigger than Nigeria. It makes me feel like I am connected to the rest of the world.

The years journey is just beginning. I am hoping to read up to 400 books or more by the end of the year. Count with me.

Ghanaian actor, Emile Wood, popularly known as Nana Tornado, has taken a swipe at the Christian Religion saying “Christians are hypocrites” and for that purpose, he has withdrawn from the Religion.

According to the actor; "I was a Christian but now I walk with my common sense," he said.

Speaking in an interview with TV Africa on Breakfast Eve, he explained that most Ghanaian Christians openly sin as many times as they can and then on the weekend go and sit in church for forgiveness. ‘Who are you deceiving?’, he questioned.

Tornado explaining further on Christians lifestyle added that he truly believes there exist a living God and a creator of the universe but there is no power in that God as he claims Christians use his name to deceive people with no consequences.

Nana Tornado made it clear that he believes there is no power in the name of Jesus which is why Christians are able to sin as much as they do.

He continued to tease them that there is more power in the name of Antoa than in the name of Jesus.
