I have lost count of the numbers of surface and submarine ships that have joined the Russian Navy just this year alone. It is astonishing when you realize that this is the most sanctioned country in Europe right now, yet building and completing projects at breathtaking speed, even in the middle of a hot war. While countries like Germany that are not under sanctions are experiencing economic decline. Call it reversed paradox.

War is strategic, there's no point deploying troops to Yemen when you can simply destroy it from the skies,
Why waste men and material when a constant and sustained bombing spree will do the trick, carpet bombings doesn't just bring destruction but it carries a psychological effect, knowing that your opponents can rain down destruction from the sky and you simply have no f**king way of countering it.

The Jews have invested alot into having the best airforce in the region, and you don't them to use it??
That's would amount to wastage of taxpayers fund.

Why didn't FRussia deploy troops during the Syrian war and instead used it air assets against the coalition fighting against assad government forces. Is Russia afraid? Can't they face off against a bunch of sandal-wearing Toyota-truck enthusiasts on the ground??

Like I pointed out the other time, the IDF has a long history of military campaigns, A careful glance one will see the IDF has conducted numerous land raids and invasion especially against threats close to its borders.

Israel just expanded into Syria, what's stopping the Arabs from stopping the Jews?? Israel had and will continue to defeat the best the Arabs have to offer.

Sit back and enjoy the show...
I dislike replying to or commenting on your posts because you're usually neither here nor there. But today, you sound a bit sane, so I will give you that benefit.

War is strategic but it's the decision-making and realities on the ground that define and shape strategy.

Air campaign alone does not win wars. Mention ONE war where victory was achieved strictly on the basics of airpower. Not even the United States and NATO combined have achieved such feat from the bombing of Serbia to Iraq to Afghanistan. You need boots on the ground to achieve real victory.

Russian impressive air campaign in Syria was significant but not the only deciding factor that kept Assad in power. Iranian and it's proxies gound deployment, particularly Hezbollah and Russian mercenaries were what complimented the Russian air campaign that resulted in success.

Israel going back and forth with bombing Yemen from the skies is not strategic but the result of the stark reality that that is the only means of counter it can dare muster against the Houthis that has proved to everyone that they fear no one but are equally sophisticated and capable of fighting back.

The IDF does not enjoy flying back and forth 2000km just to bomb some airports and one or two other assets in Yemen only for the Houthis to strike back hypersonically. And the cycle repeat itself. How long can the IDF keep it up? It would certainly weary the air force and expose them to further potential hazards. Sane heads knows the odds are against the IDF and this is something they cannot win without ground deployment, but Netanyahu for political reasons thinks otherwise.

Syria as it is right now has no real national standing army. So who are you expecting to confront the advancing Israeli troops? The civilians?

What can the minimum wage get you? To live in a proper house, you need 1300 for a studio assuming you don't want to live in a 250 Euro tiny room like that one in the picture. If you're using oil to heat your house which is cheaper, you get to pay at least 200. If all you're using is light, you will be paying nothing less than 300 Euro to heat your house. You are tuning that thin one just twice 1 hour each a day oh. Else, u are a gonna be paying nothing less than 1000 EUro to heat like you would in Lugansk, Kiev or even Lviv.. You can never ever compare to Russia.. In Lugansk, u will turn on the gas to heat your house from morning till night and be paying as little as 40 Euro.

What am i even saying? Guy just shut up. Ok. Shut up right.. Don't type again.. You don't know anything..
In Ukraine, even under war, gas is still cheaper, and electric bills are still cheaper.

What caused inflation? The number one determinant is Energy. When Energy is fucking cheap, it trickles down.. EUROPE lacks this energy...

What about food?
You have to budget nothing less than 300-400 to eat properly for 4 weeks. Food in the hellhole of Europe is fcking expensive.
Oya calculate everything, what do you get at the end of the day? try to buy food of 50 Euro, it won't full nylon polybag naija standard. What kind of thing is that?

He says full-time Employee like he knows what he is talking about. If you don't know just keep quiet... The surest job is cleaning job and its paid by the hours.. U can never get 40 hours per week...
100% the surest job u will get cannot give you 2.200.. U have to work like two and pay more tax.

It is fcking crazy.
Just stop typing.. Every kobo or cent you make in the hellhole stays there.. All for what? You are just being used as a permanent slave.. Shebi before they were coming to steal slaves.. Now u re walking right into it...

Life in Russia is 1000000 times better.. This is from someone who has lived all over Europe.
Dont even dare compare.

What about disrespect? The moment you move away, say get to Germany, the disrespect is just uncountable. In Poland, you can still even use a Nigerian driver's license without any issue, like changing it. You can use it like that.. Just enter Germany, and they start to treat you like a piece of shit.. Germany is even worse... The most racist rabid crooks..

OMG!

There is no way you want to change. EUROPE is done... Again who no go no know. So stop right there..
The man knows this things. He is just too full of himself to admit the obvious.

Every sane person knows that the cost of living in Russia is lower than what you get in Europe.

I will probably get more intelligence and honest talk discussing with a bunch of kindergarteners or even a bag of beans than talking with a grown up human-animal like you. The length you will go to justify your nonsense is alarming.

Even if the suya seller steals the meat, you will never get 1kg of meat for 2500. How many kg is the nonsense kilishi that you are shouting. No one even buys 500 naira suya these days because you will only get like 5 or 6 small meat at most. So, stop all your shitty cap.

We live here and we know what prices are here. You trying to tell us that meat is cheap here is the height of your humor. You live in the UK and have refused to tell us how much meat costs in the UK. But somehow, you are the expert when it comes to knowing how much meat costs in Nigeria and Russia 🤡

Take a good look at the screenshot below. It is from my meat dealer. They sold 3 kg of cow meat at 18000 as of October this year. That is 6k per kg. The price has increased now.

Yet, you what to discard one kg at 7500 as "expatriate price". So, how much are Nigerians paying? 20 naira?

I think we have had enough of this clown show. Cos you keep adjusting your points with every comment and spitting shitty comments on top.

Clown, since when do Nigerians buy beef online

If I buy this amount of Suya from mallam, he will only charge me N2.5k, clown

If your brain is paining you, start with the cost of buying a whole cow in the market and we can compare with the cost of buying a cow in UK, of which the cheapest cow you can buy here is N4.5m

The first pic below is N80k worth of kilishi I ordered from Nigeria last month. Each pack is N2.5k. And this fool is going to internet to pull prices for expatriates thinking you are talking to an alien. Each pack of kilishi below contains more wet-weight beef than the nonsense you posted claiming to be N7.5k

The second pic is about N400k worth of foodstuff I ordered same last month from Crayfish to Dried fish to periwinkles to Suya powder to Egusi to snails, goat, cockles etc. You think we are living on Mars, pulling nonsense out your arse

In the first place what you should have asked yourself is which UK citizen can feed for N70k (£33) per month? That is the economic indicator that trumps all nonsense you are talking about because your Government is paying N70k per month to entry level staff and companies in the private sector are paying much less. From that N70k, food, clothing, transport and shelter must be taken care of, but that can't take care of food alone in UK with £33 unless you eat 2 packs of noodles per day only. As a general rule, food is cheaper if the labour input is cheaper. That's simple economics.
At the bolded, who told you Nigerians don't buy beef online?

You really think so low of your kind.

Capitalism has its advantages but it should be in moderation, and not as extreme as it is practiced in US and UK. We all saw how Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthCare health insurance was assassinated for refusing to pay for people's treatment.

This is the same US where people with heart attack send ambulances away because they don't want to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for ambulance and hospital bills.

I mean, how in the world can you justify a trip in an ambulance costing $9000? That only happens in the US.

This man had a heart attack, called an ambulance, and when the ambulance gave him his bill, almost had another heart attack. 9000 dols for ambulance to a nearby hospital? It's that bad.

You seem to change your mind with every comment. Maybe you probably should spend more time thinking before you type.

And you should stop trying to use Nigeria to justify low prices in Russia. Food is fucking expensive here.

The meat we produce here in Nigeria is even more expensive than the frozen chicken we import. A kg of meat is 7500 as you can see. Frozen chicken is around 5k or thereabout, so what are you saying about imported food being more expensive than locally produced foods?

If this is the same brain you use to do your accounting job, then we should all be alarmed. Because it is clear there isn't much brain matter inside for you to work with.

Gibberish and noise as usual. I knew you were going to try to show off your oil bunkering income, since your perception of always wanting to appear wealthy is tied to your self-confidence. No one asked for your nonsense pics. I asked a simple question:

How much are those items sold in your UK? Simple question and you cannot answer. You have always painted Russia as a hell hole where people are suffering and cannot afford basic needs.

Now, someone living in Russia has shown us prices and you have gone on to yap about irrelevancies and even mentioned Nigeria and even claimed food is “cheap” here and used that to justify the super-cheap prices in Russia.

If you are sleeping, you better wake up. I couldn’t find the price for 1 kg turkey leg in Naija, but 1 kg Turkey wings cost 9450 naira in Naija. That is £4.85. So, 1 kg of turkey is even more expensive in Nigeria than it is in your UK.

Russia – 1 kg turkey = £0.84
UK – 1 kg turkey = £3.70
Nigeria – 1 kg turkey = £4.85

So, your claims about food being cheap in Nigeria is all in your head. If you left your brain in the UK while you traveled to Cape Verde, you better go back to pick it up and tell us why food in Russia is cheaper than Nigeria or the UK?
Food inflation here in Nigeria is crazy.

Why won't you complain about €250 Euros rent when you calculate in Naira

Minimum wage in Dublin is €2.2k for a full-time employee, so even if you are washing plate and in full-time employment, why would €250 rent shake him except he is calculating shyt in Naira like a poor man

I just had a meal of mussels here, and tipped the waiter (who has been serving me all week) 6,000 escudos. That's N100,000 plus. In your mind that's a month's wage, but for a European with earning power, that's a fair tip for one week of service. For a Russian, that's about 3 days labour.
And you just calculated same shyte in the currency of the said Russian worker, yet you are accusing the guy you replied for being mentally poor. cool

And that your plantation niggga brain of your failed to mentioned that the said amount you bragged about tipping the waiter would buy twice or more in value for a Russian worker than it would serve an average Brit for a day.

Even 1 kg of chicken is almost 5k, not to talk of full chicken. Even a person that steals chicken will never sell it to for 4k. Nonsense and ingredients.
It depends on what he is calling 'chicken'. cool Maybe he meant pigeon or native fowl. cool

As a matter of fact, one full bowler fowl as at today is selling 25--35k here in Warri.

While inflation in Europe is far better compared to what we have hear in Nigeria, the prices of goods and basic necessities in Europe and in the US is twice, if not more higher than what you get in Russia. I have relatives living in those places.

Ibime, this thread (link to thread) about the prices of food items in Russia has almost 51,600 views as of today, making it one of the most popular threads on front page in recent days.

I know you have seen it, but I see that in your usual practice, you have refused to comment on it because it just exposed your propaganda about food being expensive in Russia.

These are the prices (1 ruble = 15.03 naira as of today):

— One Turkey leg 108 Rubles About 1,623 naira
— 0.5 kg Pig meat 227 Rubles About 3,412 naira
— One Whole chicken about 1.5kg 180 Rubles about 2,705 naira
— 0.7kg Onions 66 Rubles About 992 naira
— 1kg Sweet Potatoes 94 Rubles About 1,413 naira

Mind you, the OP said it is even expensive because of logistics and the remoteness of Yakutsk to other parts of Russia. So, these things are cheaper in other parts of Russia.

So, Ibime, how much is this sold in the UK? I see one 0.9 kg of turkey leg is 6,484 naira at Tesco. That is about four times the price in Russia. And to even think that the Russian one is larger since it is 1kg and not 0.9.

I checked chicken prices on Tesco too, and that one is even worse 😂😂. But we should not long the talk too much, how much are they sold in your UK since food is cheaper there than Russia?
Let Ibime breath cool.

I suspect is less or more of an attempt by Iran or Russia to force the HTS into some sorts of strategic compromise considering that Turkey and the US are also breathing down their neck for their own geopolitical interests.

By this idiot's definition, Nigeria that consumes consumes and consumes is a "Host".

While China that produces everything Nigeria uses is a "Parasite".

The US is closer to being a parasite than Russia. Because the US guzzles and mops up half of the world resources while producing little to nothing.

The US is the largest consumer nation on earth. The real definition of a parasite. Produces virtually nothing aside from arms and inflation which it circulates through the Dollar. I don't think anyone here can remember the last time they saw a Made In US item.

That's why there's a huge trade deficit in the US.

The US for instance exports about $400 billion worth of goods while importing about $750 billion worth of goods. This is just an example.

Russia and China have all had trade surpluses for the 5th year running now.
The only reason why the US is the number economically is because of the Dollar. Kill that and they're nothing.

This is a game well played. The fact Russia retained its bases says a lot. I am fully aware of Erdogan two faced polity. I do not blame him for that, he is after his own interest and as long as both Turkey and Russia are ready to compromise when their interest clash would not be a problem however that does not rule out otherwise, as long as both sides are ready to bear the consequences that comes with. This however would be a case for Turkeyie and the general West since the West wants their interest to be supreme. Russia knew about all these and I am sure USA also was aware hence they were able to convince Is.ral to take a deal on ceasefire in Lebanon. They were thinking and are working on how things would turn out for their good in this whole shenengan. Unfortunately the master chess player is their major opponent on this.

I look forward to reading good news from all these.
Can anything good news come out of the Middle East?

More especially in the case of Syria as it is, I doubt.

Syria is like a box of enigma, with too many players and too many competing interests.

I'm happy for Russia because as a great geopolitical gambler, it has managed to play his cards well as such that it's core interest in the country has not suffered extensively.

In fact, given its strategic relationship with many of the players in the Syrian theatre, Russia might just turn out to be the 'peace guarantor ' between the upcoming Syrian new government and Israel.

Israel is on the loose right now in what it termed a preemptive measure to ensure it's own security given the current vacuum in power in Syria. But once a new government emerges, there is definitely going to be hostilities between the two because the government will be duty bound to defend and secure its territorial integrity. And with that government backed by Turkey, it won't take long before it would reinstate whatever military assets that Israel has destroyed at the moment. With Israel backed by the US, and Netanyahu banking on the incoming administration of the Trumpster whom we all know can go all out to defend Israel, the potential or further escalations and a serious Middle East hot war is now greater than ever. This is where Russia comes in., acting as the go-between the various players.

But again, this is the Middle East and anything can happen.

Where were the SAA airforces?
Those guys are absolutely insane
Last I was blaming USA military for Afghanistan collapsed but this one is even worse.
Iranian, Hezb and Russian military defended Syria against all odds but the SAA could not even defend themselves till the last man standing. They fought hard for years before Iranians and Hezb came to the rescued.

Maximum in 2 weeks, the rebels will be fighting each others over territory. It was after Gadaffi was killed that Libyans knew they have different tribesmen and it was Gadaffi that united them as one nation.
It was so bad then and now that the so called PM of Libya can’t even control his own area talk less of the citywide or state or country.
Whosoever has more men can control large area, each city have different militias leadership.
Travelling from one town to another is a nightmare.
You have up to different IDs with you from different militants

A messed up Syria is good for Israeli government because Iraq is gone, Lebanon is gone, Jordan is a vassal country and the only country causing them headaches was Syria which used to have government before
Modified they already fighting over who is in control
They chose not to fight. Most of the generals were bought off. Assad is to blame for much of what happened.

What are your thoughts on this?
Well, Russia has many time shows itself as. master of the geopolitical game. A 'gambler' in the very act of it who knows when to hold his cards, when to fold them, when to walk away, and when to run.

We knew from day one when the SAA soldiers started melting away from their positions that this was a well planned and coordinated offensive against Damascus.

Russia did put up a show, but you cannot help a government that refused to help itself over the years. Be that as it may, one question arises, was this as a result of a direct intelligence failure on the part of Russia?

Well, some so-called western Russian experts believed the 'lightening' offensive as they called it shows there was a gap in Russian intelligence.

It was at this junction I laughed. cool Many Western political analysts despite what happened in Ukraine in 2014 still do not understand the Russian geopolitical mindset.

No, it wasn't as a result of Russian intelligence failure. In fact, back in October, there was a report of a planned and imminent threat of serious hostilities and unusual militia grouping movements in the Northern part of the country. The Russians were aware of it. They saw it coming, but allows it to play out for the same apt reasons the writer you mentioned stated.

Just like it happened in 2014, when the Maidan coup was building up, Russian intelligence saw it but allows it to play out according to the western design script.

And Yanukovick was toppled and fled to Moscow. Then Russia played out it's side of the geopolitical chestboard--Crimea. cool

The endgame of the US-led NATO design for Ukraine was to establish a huge and formidable naval presence on the doorsteps of Russia, and that would have been getting to Sevastopol. Since a Russian speaking president can not agree to that, he has to go, hence the color coded Maidan square revolution that took him out.

But little did they know the grandmaster across the chestboard is always a step ahead.

Russia needed a perfect and legitimate excuse to bring back Crimea, which they did without firing a single shot, as the west played right into the trap they created for themselves.

Now, Syria is here again. As usual, many of our inhouse pygmies doing life in Langley prison of misinformation are rejoicing citing the Russian failure to save the Assad regime from the eventual collapse.

But, it's Russia, rather, that has tacitly allowed the plot to play out. How? Why?

The How. Six months prior to the fall of Damascus, the takfiris did notify Turkey of their intention to launch an offensive into Alleppo. That notification couldn't have gone unnoticed by Russian intelligence because, during that same period, Russia offered to directly trained the Syrian Arab Army, but as usual, the Syrian government refused.

Moreover, Assad's refusal to take the deal Erdogan offered him to retake thousands of Syrian migrants and also influence the Kurds in the Turkish-Syrian border areas to pull back is an indication of the fact that Assad has always been a rigid, inflexible leader. Even the Iranian foreign minister recently corroborated this fact.

To put it mildly, Assad was a simple, good man but not an effective leader that knows when to hold his cards, when to fold them, when to walk away, and when to run.

Recently, the Iranian foreign minister did openly revealed that Assad himself was shocked at the way his own army melted away from their positions. A leader that has poor internal knowledge of what goes on within his inner circle cannot be propped up forever. Even his own ambassador to Moscow has condemned Assad for his ineffectiveness in every aspect of Syrian living standards and politics. His years of neglect and indifference made it easy for his army generals to be bought over and refused to fight, something neither Russia nor Iran can hardly do anything about.

But, then why did Russia bother to put up a show by bombing sectors of the advancing takfiris?

Well, common sense demand that they do afterall, they were there on the invitation of Assad.

Moreover, the bombings did send a string warning to the takfiris and their handlers that Russia is committed to keeping it's two military facilities in Syria and will go all out to ensure their safety no matter whose horse is gored. And it seemed that message has been well heard because the takfiris has made commitment to Russia that nothing would happen to its naval and airbase leases once they assume power.

Of course this was always going to be one of the outcome of the emergency tripartite meeting between Russia, Iran, and Turkey following the launch of the offensive by the takfiris.

By allowing things to play out as they did (based on whatever underlying deals struck behind closed doors), Russia and Iran were able to scale the geopolitical traps laid for them by the western designs. Russia will not have to commit too much lives and resources in waging another war like it did in 2015 till 2022. At the same time, the Russians are able to keep their bases intact and maintain their presence in the Middle East.

And here is why it gets interesting;

1. Whatever government that would come into power in Syria will have to make do with Russia's presence. Considering how polarized the country is right now, some groups would definitely demand Russian presence as a precondition to whatever agreement reach in the upcoming coalition in order to protect their interest and serve as a checkmate against possible overtures by the US and Turkish backed groups in the new coalition.

2. As long as Russia is in Syria, the dream Qatar;Turkey pipeline to Europe would not materialse.

3. It will not take long before Iran will reestablish access to those airbases seized in Alleppo and Hama, because you cannot kill an ideology, and there are thousands of ideologically driven people waiting to serve Iranian interests in the country.

4. The ongoing Israeli bombings across the Syrian border towns right now, which would definitely prompt the new Syrian government to react defensively in the near future. This could potentially pit Turkey against Israel in a direct military confrontation since Turkey is a staunch backer of the HTS-run Syrian new government. Then you have Iranian groups on one side, which, together with the Turkey backed groups wants the US out of the country. Already, Turkish backed groups SNA has taken Manbij from US backed group SDF.

So the strategic defeat they think they inflicted on Russia or Iran with the removal of Assad is not a victory at all but a fallacy that would come back to haunt those involved.

There is a reason why Hamas is happy that HTS conquered Syria.

Israel will soon have on its door posts a rabid caliphate backed by Turkey in its Ottoman revanchism, and driven by someone devoid of Assad's temperance.

Recent videos from some members of the HTS while celebrating their recent victory in Damascus saw two soldiers saying that they're coming for Jerusalem.

There is a lot of surprises in waiting for the middle east, and Syria will once again play a key role in its events.

LordAdam16:
Update:

The Turkey-backed terrorists successfully seized Deir ez-Zor from the US-backed SDF.
The US had to mobilize aircrafts to provide cover for retreating SDF units.

No one is advancing to Russia controlled coastal cities of Latakia and Tartus where pro-Assad elements have taken refuge.
SAA personnel who cannot make it to the coast are still withdrawing to Iraq.

Besides the early strikes where SAA/Iranian militants/Russian jets killed hundreds of terrorists; all sides largely retain their forces and are consolidating in their respective territories.
Assad's PM says many ministers are still in Damascus.
Clearly, the deal to avoid a confrontation was not only made by the Generals.
The politicos were read in.

After listening that Segey Lavrov said in Doga during an interview with Al Jazeera, i became convinced that there was a lot of backdoor agreements between the major powers that plays the Syrian geopolitical ball game.

The coming weeks will be very interesting, especially with how they plan to share power between the various groups.

LordAdam16:
Southfront reported that Russian intelligence informed Assad of HTS moves in Idlib as recently as August.
I don't know if they're just covering their a$$, but it is believable because Russian planes have been carrying out sorties in Idlib throughout this year.

When the dust settles, we'll get more information on who knew what and when.
And what role the majors played in this debacle.

There are many interests groups in Syria.
The Axis can butt heads.
These are Sunni Arabs. Nuff said.
All it takes is a false flag to start sh*t.
So I'm not concerned about Iranian interests.
Russia should deal with the fallout.
They permitted Israel to inflict damage on the Resistance network in Syria.
They pushed for the negotiated settlement when the Axis needed one push to take Idlib.
They saved Erdogan from the CIA-backed coup.
They certainly added to the voices in Assad's ear warning him about allowing major Iranian deployments.
If they lose their bases, it'll be karmic.

Assad made a lot of strategic errors.
The lack of fortifications is the primary mistake.
A close second is denying Iran a conventional military presence.
Iran kept asking for it and he rebuffed the request every time.
A conventional massive military presence means multiple bases, air defense brigades, intelligence corps, tons of materiel, and tens of thousands of troops.
The current SAA is full of LARPers. The Arab monarchies permit thousands of American troops in multiple bases for a reason.
The Gulf War taught everyone a lesson. Arab national armies are a colossal waste of space. You need folks who wouldn't be negotiating an out when push comes to shove. An Iranian ground force would have made a stand, inflicted heavy losses, and bought valuable time.

Iraqi militias answered the call.
Hezbollah stayed until the SAA decided to withdraw.
But Assad made the SAA the tip of his spear and is paying the price of that unfounded confidence.

The SAA lost Palmyra twice during the civil war.
Both times, they needed Hezbollah and Wagner to recover Palmyra.
They walked out of Palmyra this week.
They left before militants were even in the area.
The militants rode in on motorbikes
So I think for multiple players, it just felt like the end of the road.
It is not sustainable to always import a coalition every time some barbarians get on their motorbikes.
We've been propping up people playing dress-up. Let Assad and his generals go with their mediocrity if that's what it comes down to.
It's the middle east, there'll always be new partners.

Well, it's official: Damascus has fallen without. Fight. Assad has left the capital.

This is really interesting, especially considering how polarized the country is.

Now, the euphoria of Assad departure is on the vibe, but a repeat of the Libyan experience is imminent because of the too many players in the equations.

Time will tell.
