There's a reason why historians tells every nation on earth not to be hostile towards Russia.

Because during war you'll find out the hard way.
The reason historians tells us this, is because they (Russia) Evolve during war.
No matter what you throw at them, as the war rage on, the things you throw become ineffective.

Too much words of a foolish putard. Numbers don't lie.

Assignment for you.

1. Give us price of Urals in October 2022, then give us price in March 2023 - impact of pricecap.

2. Give us Russia oil Revenues in March 2023 Vs March 2022, let us see if everything is Uhuru

3. Give us Russian budget deficit for 2023 to date Vs Budget deficit of 2022 to date

4. Give us Dollar to Ruble price in November 2022, (just before the pricecap) Vs Dollar to Ruble today

These are numbers very easy to Google search, and cuts through your foolish Putard propaganda which is full of words but no numbers. I have done No1 for you below. Pull up the answers to question 2 to 4 and slap yourself
Truly, you ain't worth the debate. Once a kid, always a kid. You are so emotional. grin

You dodged the fact that you were caught lying about Russia selling it's entire oil at $49, but price of Russian ESPO shipment to Asia proved you wrong. cool

You lied by passing Urals as the benchmark of Russian oil export, which is not. ESPO oil proved you wrong. cool

No one was arguing about whether or not there were down turns in revenue this year compared to 2022. Heck, even Saudi-Arabia experienced downturns in revenue due to market fluctuations.

But the goddamn Russkies were still making profits from their oil sales in the face of western economic sanction wars.

Even the price of Urals rallied above the price cap in April this year, and you're still talking about March? grin

Here is an excerpts from Reuters this month:

"Russia is enjoying stronger revenues vIa sale of oil despite western sanctions and price cap.

Russian Urals oil cargoes that loaded in the first half of April are mostly heading to
India and China who have snapped up the vast majority of Russian oil so far in April at prices above the Western price cap of $60 per barrel, according to traders and Reuters calculations.

That means the Kremlin is enjoying stronger revenues despite the West’s attempts to curb funds for Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.

The advocates of the cap have said it reduces revenues for Russia while allowing oil to flow, but its opponents argued it is too soft to force Russia to backtrack on its activities in Ukraine.

The latest data from Refinitiv Eikon suggested that Russian Urals oil cargoes that loaded in the first half of April are mostly heading to India’s and China’s ports.

India accounted for more than 70 percent of the seaborne supplies of the grade so far this month and China for about 20 percent, Reuters calculations showed.

Meanwhile, lower freight rates and smaller discounts for Urals against global benchmarks nudged the daily price of the grade back above the cap earlier in April from a period of trading below.

India and China have not agreed to abide by the price cap, but the West had hoped the threat of sanctions might deter traders from helping those countries buy oil above the cap.

Average discounts for Urals were at $13 per barrel to dated Brent on a DES (delivered ex-ship) basis in Indian ports and $9 to ICE Brent in Chinese ports, according to traders, while shipping costs were $10.5 a barrel and $14 a barrel respectively for loadings from Baltic ports to India and China.

That means the Urals price on a free on board (FOB) basis in Baltic ports, allowing about $2 per barrel of additional transport costs, has been slightly above $60 per barrel so far in April, Reuters calculations show.

The population of these two countries alone is more than the whole of foolish Europe put together, so the more oil Russia is shipping that way, the more revenue it makes. While the damn Europeans rebuys same oil at a price more than Russia sells to them. Who is the fool here? cool

These are facts, emotions don't count. grin

Mumu, after all this to confirm that Urals is trading at massive discount.

Urals and Brent were trading within the same price range until the price cap. That is fact. Pricecap has knocked $20 off each barrel. That is fact.

As to your last paragraph, please help me with Russias budget deficit YTD if Russian budget is based on $40. Russia is already on $29bln deficit for the year, over 70% of the deficit target it set for 2023 already exceeded in Q1. Google is your friend.

The price of production of each barrel is around $40 so anything sold at $40 yields zero to the Government. I don't know where you got that budget is based on $40, and if so why is budget at massive deficit while trading between $49 and $60?

After googling, then Google the Ruble to dollar price and explain why the Urals selling so low has no effect when Ruble has backslid 30% since the pricecap. Maybe because Russian forex reserves which they used to manipulate the Ruble have been impacted by the pricecap?
You confirmed my fears. You're a kid and not worth the debate. Cause only kids throw tantrums across faceless forums.

I don't expect you to reason logically, kids don't do that other than calling people mumu. cool across a faceless forum. Stop that and grow up. cool

You claimed that Russian oil is being sold for $49 caused of sanctions, which turned out to be false. The price for Russian is dynamic and vary according to the oil trade involved. The price for Urals had always been affected by market monthly fluctuations even before the Ukrainian war began. Brent crude has always have the edge over its Urals counterpart whether by $3 or $20 or so. Yes, the Europeans cutback on the purchase of Russian Urals oil it's a contributory factor to the current price, but this too is largely subjective and limited.

For instance, some European countries on long-term contract with Gazprom are still paying the normal price, which is above the ceiling cap of $60 set by the EU.

Your Rouble to Dollar price argument holds no water because you make it look like the Urals represent the entire oil price and volume benchmark exported by Russia, which is not.

Urals oil is the main grade of crude oil exported from Russia to Europe.

In contrast, the market price of the Russian Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) grade oil, which is traditionally exported to Asia, has been closer to international oil prices and stayed at levels above the oil price cap. This may reflect the fact that around 45% of Russian oil exports to eastern Asia are transported via pipelines to China, which are not affected by sanctions from the G7 and EU countries. In addition, ESPO oil has usually been shipped by tankers flagged in countries outside the G7 and EU, which makes it easier to transport Russian ESPO grade oil without being subject to the new sanctions.

To allay your doubt, India and China snapped up Russian crude oil in April 2023 at prices above the western cap ceiling, and this was largely reported by western media houses. This is how Russia has making the huge revenue accredited to it's oil sector despite western sanctions. This also explain why Russia have strategically pivoted to the East in recent years. The west is an economic house on the decline, the EastAsia axis is the most promising and next economic hub of the future.

The western thinking that if they whined Europe off Russian oil and gas would be the end of Russia is the greatest and worst geopolitical economic miscalculation of the 21st century. Not only had this folly caused a massive realignment of nations once loyal to the western diktats, but also creat cost western competitive advantage as they have to gtabblr with the reality of increased production cost. cool

Russia has always since pegged its budget financing at $40 per barrel since 2018. There were attempt to raised the stakes up to $60 last year, but I didn't follow up on that, and I doubt if it took off at all considering the SMO.

You may want to look that up.

Once again, when you're big, you're big. cool

It's literally in the link you just quoted. Take the price of Brent ($70-$80) and remove $20 for Urals for the days they gave you

Or if you want it spelt out to you, you can look at the price of Urals in the graph below from when the price cap came in in December till date, you will see it has been ranging $49 to $60 while Brent has been between $70 and $80.

Like I said, most Putards lack financial education
I would have ignored your ignorance but let me just afford you the benefit of the doubt that you're just being innocently ignorant.

The price of Russian Urals oil had already fallen way before the invasion of Ukraine, so I don't know what financial education you learnt that is better than all others, including that of the white man. cool

The price cap too has failed dramatically because Russian oil keep finding its way into the EU market via so many backdoors at a rate that has the EU paying more for their oil than the usual. . More over, it's not even sustainable given the market Dynamics and the many players involved.

While Russian oil revenue has without doubt decline due to the brouhaha with the EU, there is a reason why the Russians would hardly lose sleep over the shortfalls in revenue. This is because the Russian national budget financing was pegged at $40 per barrel. So, even if it's sells say at $60 or even at $55, it's still a massive profit considering the record massive sale it has been recording.

FYI, nowhere was it recorded that Russia sold its oil at $49 per barrel. Average is a range, and doesn't mean exact. So you shouldn't be basing our final figures on it.

It would interest you to know that some countries in Europe (including the cursed Poland elite) are still buying Russian oil at the normal rate. cool

Don't let emotion cloud your sense of judgement. Even one Ukrainian oil consultant while speaking to the Economist describe the scenario as ironic and ridiculous that the Russians they claimed to have sanctioned is the same entity they're buying oil from. grin

The takeaway here is that despite all the sanctions imposed by the EU and the US, including the price cap, Russian oil is still finding its way around the world, and into the EU, which entails the failure of the sanction war. While the EU is busy paying more for it's oil. cool

When you're big, you're big.

Russia is too big for the midget EU and its America vassal to isolate. cool
