The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Uchenna Daniels, over the kidnap of a girl, Hannatu Kabri.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Daniels abducted the victim in Kaduna and fled to Lagos, where he was arrested.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, during a parade at the command headquarters, Ikeja, said the suspect was tracked and arrested at Allen Avenue, Ikeja.
“The suspect revealed that the victim’s boyfriend, one Ahmed, and one Biliya, planned the kidnap with him and collected a ransom of N2m in Kaduna through a Bureau de Change from the parents of the victim before she was released on March 28, 2022. [color=#d7e0c9]Daily Prayers[/color]
“He added that they made use of a toy gun to commit the crime. Investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects,” he added.
Pastor nabbed for defiling three Lagos children
The police also paraded a pastor, Elijah Emenandu, of the Chapel of Revelation Ministry, Ajegunle, for allegedly defiling three children for eight months.
The police spokesman vowed that the suspect would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
The police command also paraded a father, Benedict Ahieze, for allegedly killing his one-month-old baby, Onyiyechi, at their residence in the Idimu area of the state.
The PPRO said, “The victim was killed by Benedict Anieze, who in a drunken state smashed her (Onyinyechi) head on the floor after a quarrel with his wife. The suspect will soon be charged to court.”
Three other suspects were also paraded for allegedly killing three people in separate incidents in the Bariga and Agege areas of Lagos State.
Hundeyin said two men, Obiora Igboagu and Pedro Akinbiyi, were at the Exclusive Mansion Hotel when an argument ensued between them.
The argument was said to have degenerated into a fight and in the process, Igboagu allegedly used a stone to hit Akinbiyi’s head, which led to his death.
Another suspect, Tijani Abubakar, was alleged to have stabbed a 25-year-old man to death during a scuffle in the Agege area on March 18, 2022.

Four cabinet members in the Rivers State Government have reportedly resigned their appointments to contest in the 2023 governorship election.
Though there was no official statement confirming their resignations, it is believed that they resigned in order to beat the clause in the Electoral Act, 2022 which says political appointees must vacate office to be eligible to participate in party primaries[color=#000000].[/color]
Those who resigned resigned are the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo; the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu; Commissioner for Sports, Boma Iyaye; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, George Kelly.
A former speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Okpara; former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo; former state PDP chairman, Felix Obuah; and others have picked the party’s nomination forms to contest in next year’s governorship election in the state, The PUNCH has leant.
The others are Senator George Sekibo, Senator Olaka Wogu, David Briggs, Senator Lee Maeba, Asimilaye Fubara and Farah Dagogo.
Meanwhile, about 40 House of Assembly aspirants under the PDP have accused the party leadership of denying them intent and nomination forms after payment.
The aspirants, who protested in front of the state PDP secretariat located on Aba Road, Port Harcourt, expressed sadness that the party could treat them with disdain after paying for the forms.
One of the aspirants from Emuoha Local Government Area, Kinikanwo Ogbu, told journalists that, “We are all law-abiding members of the PDP in Rivers State. What we are holding is our bank drafts which we have paid into the party coffers to obtain our intent and nomination forms.
“But on getting here (party secretariat) this morning, we could not find any party officer to do the needful for us to get our forms. We are worried because the closing date for the purchase of forms is less than 24 hours and today, we cannot find any party official.”
But the state spokesman of the party, Sydney Gbara, said those protesting were not known to the party, and challenged them to present proofs of their payment.
“We don’t know whether they are PDP members because they didn’t pay any money to the state PDP account to get the intent and nomination forms in the state assembly. The party has a procedure. So, if they have proof of that procedure, they can show it to the public,” he stated.
A man identified as Mohammad Bagudu Abdulrahman Lapai and his pregnant wife, Khadijat, have died in a fatal auto crash along Suleja road.
It was gathered that the couple, from Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, were killed in the accident which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, February 13, while their 3-year-old son survived.

A Magistrate Court in Kaduna State, presided over by Ibrahim Emmanuel has remanded one Gado Yahaya, a tailor for allegedly killing his neighbour during an altercation over a bucket of water.
Yahaya, a resident of Rigasa, looked remorseful while in the Court.
The Court was told that Yahaya, 29 years old, allegedly fought with one Liman Salisu during an argument over a bucket of water, which resulted in Salisu’s death.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo said, “he (Gado Yahaya) is a resident of Rigasa in Kaduna State and was arraigned on charges of culpable homicide before a Kaduna Magistrate Court on Monday.” [color=#f6f6ec]Catholic Spanish Prayers[/color]
The prosecutor alleged that Yahaya killed Salisu with a pestle during a fight over a bucket of water.
He narrated that in the course of the fight, he (Gado Yahaya) went into the kitchen, picked a pestle and hit Salisu on his head, adding that he (Liman Salisu) slumped after he was hit on the head and died on the way to the hospital.
The prosecutor told the Court that Gado Yahaya had written and signed a confessional statement when he was brought to the police station for questioning.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened the provisions of Section 190 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.

The council also directed all the landlords in the community to submit the names and occupations of tenants living in their houses to the office of the President General within one month of this notice to enable the community to have an adequate census of all the people living in the area and their professions.
The Osun Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a 27-year-old man, Mumeen for burglary.
According to information made available by the Osun NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Daniel Adigun, the suspect was apprehended on Saturday, December 11, 2021 as he made to jump over the fence into a compound situated in Sunday Akpan, Ilesa Garage, Osogbo.

Zamfara State House of Assembly has lamented that the State ministry of Finance has been allocating illegal funds to MDAs.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital, by the chairman, House committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Shamsudeen Basko Mafara.
Hon. Marafa stated that series of irregularities and misappropriation of funds had been uncovered in the ministry of finance, as it was paying some MDAs more than what was appropriated to them.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that he is being denied food in the facility of the Department of State Service (DSS).
Kanu is currently detained in the facility of the DSS on the order of Justice Binta Murtala Nyako-led Federal High Court in Abuja on the treasonable felony charges preferred against him by the federal government of Nigeria.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has remained silent days after the release of the Lagos EndSARS panel report, DAILY POST observed.
The panel has released its report in which it described the Lekki Toll Gate incident as a massacre, contrary to the hard stance of Mohammed.
On October 20, 2020, soldiers had shot and killed some Nigerian youths protesting against police brutality under the tag ‘EndSARS’, at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos State.
While the soldiers drafted to the scene to contain the protest allegedly shot and killed protesters, DJ Switch had transmitted the incident live to the world via her social media handles.
Following the incident, CNN had carried out an investigation, in which, it affirmed the killings of protesters by the soldiers drafted to the Lekki Toll Gate.
Dismayed, Mohammed had denied claims that soldiers had shot protesters, while accusing DJ Switch of trying to destabilize the country.
Mohammed also claimed that some proponents of the protest used the alleged massacre to paint the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government in bad light before the international community. [color=#d7e0c9]Cleaning Services In Nigeria[/color]
In a series of press conferences, the Minister denied that nobody was killed when soldiers invaded the protest scene.
He described the EndSARS “massacre” at Lekki tollgate as false, requesting for the bodies of those killed.
Mohammed also maintained that the narrative by CNN that soldiers shot live bullets at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos State was ‘fake news’.
He had tagged the widespread reports as: “Phantom Massacre at Lekki tollgate” which should be discarded.
Against the backdrop of the conflicting stories surrounding the incident, the Lagos State Government had set up the EndSARS panel to unravel the truth.
The panel released its report in the week and it indicted the Federal Government, the police, and the Nigerian Army.
The report accused the soldiers drafted to the scene of the protest of shooting live bullets and killing some protesters.
However, DAILY POST observed that the Minister, known for describing the Lekki massacre as a hoax, has remained “mum” over the released report.
Effort to get the Minister’s reaction also failed as at the time of filing this report.
A source, however, told DAILY POST that an official reaction is currently being prepared to set the record straight.
