The Rivers State Government has intercepted a truckload of suspected substandard animal hide, popularly called ponmo, in Onne, Eleme Local Government Area of the state, even as two persons accompanying the truck were arrested.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Fred Kpakol, who confirmed the incident while speaking to journalists on Port Harcourt, said the import papers showed that the seized product came into the country from Madagascar.

Kpakol said the containerised truck, which conveyed the product, came through the Onne Port, adding that it was seized and taken to the police area command in Eleme for further investigation.

The commissioner explained that the arrest followed a tip-off and the ministry quickly swung into action with the help of the police, adding that the state police command would conduct a full-scale investigation into the incident.

Kpakol stated, “We got a tip-off that some canda meat that was imported found its way into the state. We went in and found out that it had come in from the Onne Port[color=#000000].[/color]

“It’s was a container full of canda meat. We were able to intercept it and took it to the area command. When it was opened, it was discovered that it was adulterated and stinking.

“From the import paper, we found out that it came in from Madagascar.”

Meanwhile, the Area Police Command said it had begun investigation into the incident.

The Police Area Commander, Martins Nwogu, stated that those arrested with the truck claimed that the consignment was owned by a man simply known as Alhaji and contained raw materials for the making shoes and bags.

When contacted, the police spokesman for the state, Nnamdi Omoni, said the command had yet to get the report, but promised to contact the Eleme Area Command and get back to our correspondent.

64-Year-Old Man Slumps, Dies While Fighting With Girlfriend Over Suspicion Of Infidelity

64-year-old man, Osita Anwuanwu, has reportedly slumped and died while fighting with his lover over suspicion of infidelity.

Anwuanwu had gone to check on his girlfriend, Juliet Eguebor at a bar owned by Ngozi Emezue, Juliet's friend in the Ikotun area of Lagos and slumped after having a misunderstanding with the two women.

The Lagos state police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the police had immediately rescued the man who was later certified dead at the Igando General Hospital.

A statement issued by Adejobi read, “Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have again arrested two suspects for the alleged killing of one Osita Anwuanwu, m, 64, at Arida area of Ikotun Lagos State on 8th April 2021, at 8.45 pm.

“The daughter of the deceased, Linda Anwuanwu of Temitope street, off Governor's Road, Ikotun, Lagos State, reported to the police at Ikotun Division that she was informed that her father, one Osita Anwuanwu, 64, same address, was lying down in a bar at Arida after he had a misunderstanding with one Ngozi Emezue, f, 38, and Juliet Eguebor, f, 35. The police operatives at Ikotun Division raced to the scene and rescued the deceased to the General Hospital, Igando where he was certified dead.

“According to a preliminary investigation by the police, the deceased had gone to check his lady friend, Juliet, whom he had not seen for some time, at Ngozi's bar, where he engaged the duo in a hot argument and physical assault before he slumped.

“The two (2) suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for proper investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Osita Anwuanwu.”

A popular Cameroonian cross dresser known as Shakiro and two homosexuals have been sentenced to prison.

According to Cameroon News Agency, the court of first instance in Ndokotti Douala on Tuesday, found them guilty for practicing homosexuality which is a crime in Cameroon.

The suspected homosexuals were sent to the New Bell Central Prison in Douala.

It was gathered that Shakiro had been arrested several times and released.

Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) on Monday confiscated fake and expired drugs worth over N200 Million.

The Managing Director of the council, Baffa Babba Danagundi, said the organisation made the seizure following a raid on a building where the drugs are stored and repackaged. [color=#000000]Anambra 360 Reports[/color]

According to the Acting MD, the KSCPC raided the building on No. 37 Niger Street after tip off about the illegal activities carried out within the building.

He said some of the drugs confiscated have no NAFDAC Registration Number, while some have expired and repackaged before releasing them back into the market.

Baffa Babba calls on the general public to be conscious of the drugs they consume as well as places they patronize to avoid purchasing expired and fake drugs which instead of getting relief, would lead to more complications.

He warned that the Council will continue to do its best in riding the state of any form of fake, expired and unwholesome products that poses danger to the health of the people of the State.

Furthermore, he charged those with credible information to come forward as his doors are always open and ready to act on such information and there is always reward for patriotic citizens who feeds either the Council or KAROTA with information that leads to such arrest.

To overcome bad envy, speak to God to help you. Tell him you’re envious and that it’s eating you up.

Secondly, override your natural self and become supernatural by speaking a kind word to the person whose success is making you sad.

Third, Understand your place and stay in lane. No one person is the only one God is using. All that there’s to a beautiful body isn’t seen. The kidney, liver, heart are important. Yet they are not in public glare.

Also, those of us who are older should not always demand eternal and compulsory ‘returns’ from younger people. There’s a temptation to always feel if not for us, they won’t be here. Life is about paying it forward. And young peeps, don’t partake of the trend of this age - please honour your elders.

Fourth. You’d be less envious if your approach to life is to always help others become better. I love what Max Lucado said, ‘When fishermen don’t fish, they fight’

Lastly, when you’re envious, you create more blind spots for yourself. You end up having faith in what has only been made manifest. That my friend is not faith. Faith has to do with the unseen.
