Abuja, Nigeria — Chartered Engineer (CEng, UK) and ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, Dr. Chinedu Ogwus, played a prominent role at the landmark signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the European Cultural Center and the International Society of Diplomats (ISD), held at the Kapital Hotel in Asokoro, Abuja.
The high-profile event, part of the United Nations World Tourism Day celebrations, convened global diplomats, ambassadors, policymakers, industry leaders, and diaspora influencers to explore the intersection of tourism, diplomacy, and sustainable development.
For Dr. Ogwus, the occasion marked a strategic alignment of cultural diplomacy and youth-driven transformation. His presence underscored the rising impact of African thought leaders in leveraging tourism as a tool for economic diversification and global engagement.
In his remarks, Ambassador Ogwus spotlighted the transformative power of Nollywood and international media in reshaping Nigeria’s global narrative. “Nollywood is more than entertainment—it’s a vehicle for cultural diplomacy,” he said. “By telling authentic Nigerian stories, we can project our values, creativity, and heritage to the world.”

The President of Women Mentorship Forum (WMF), Ebosetale Okhueleigbe has bagged Doctorate Degree in Philosophy, a giant academic breakthrough at the age of 30 that adds more feathers to her cap, ABUJAPRESS reports.

The exercise at Lugbe community in Abuja saw at least 25 beneficiaries walk home with brand new clippers and other materials that will help them become self-employed especially as they return to school.
In her address, the Founder of the Foundation, Njideka Kings praised the commitment and efforts of the beneficiaries and the resource persons who coached them in barbing skills, highlighting the importance of empowering women and children to drive change and human capital development.

The organizers said harm reduction acknowledges that in Africa’s systemic context, certain types of harm to individuals and communities are unavoidable, and prioritizes models and methodologies to mitigate and adapt to those harms by prioritizing solidarity, inclusivity, and local resilience.
The symposium highlighted the continent’s unique experience in navigating adversity, as Africa had at various times faced pandemic, fragile health systems, and resource constraints, yet it has consistently demonstrated resilience, innovation, and a people-centered approach to crisis management.

Njideka King Foundation to Offset School Fees, Empower 50 With Barbing Skills at Summer
A non-governmental organization, Njideka King Foundation is set to equip at least 50 less privileged children of Tudunwada community with barbing skills this summer, empowering them for self-reliance.
The empowerment scheme which is in advancement of the organisation's core objective of building children to become useful members of the society will also have them benefit from disbursement of barbing kits, including clippers, brushes and others.
In a statement on Tuesday, the founder, Njideka King said this will be a paradigm shift in the regular summer lessons as the benefiting students will have opportunity of being given access to sustainable means of livelihood.
The project which is ongoing in Abuja will have the children between the ages of 10 to 16 years engage in the skills acquisition for intensive three weeks after which they will embark on practical display of what they have learnt. The essence of the age bracket is basically to catch them young and make them entrepreneurs to support themselves even as students.
"This will also serve as a back-to-school initiative, giving school children free haircuts as they resume. Beyond community service, this activity is designed as a marketing strategy to help the newly trained barbers gain potential customers and build trust in their skills", the Foundation said.
Beyond training kid enterprenuers and giving back to school hair-cut empowerment, the triple pilot project also involves making scholarship support fund available school fees of 10 smart kids who can not afford their tuition fees in the host school.
This not the first time Njideka King Foundation is embarking on such capacity building programme. Last summer, it released a pilot project targeting to train young ladies on the skills of soap and other consumables making in a bid to give them economic access.
She promised to work hard together with the newly elected members to further accelerate the development of the institute and take it to greater height.
CIISM Inducts New Members, Inaugurates Council With Award Ceremony
The Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM) has held quadruple event of capacity building, induction of new members, inauguration of new council, as well as conferment of Doctorate Degree awards.
The event on Friday August 15 at the Army Resource Centre, Asokoro, Abuja honoured deserving individuals for their enormous impact and contributions to human capital development.
With the theme “Strategic Synergies: Leveraging Arts Management & Information Strategy for Nigeria’s Development,” the event brought together stakeholders from the academia, corporate world, security, media and diplomatic corps.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Board of Trustees of CIISM Prof. Paul Bolorunduro emphasized the need for intentional and concerted efforts towards human capacity building, entrenchment of the rule of Law and a comprehensive policy that will address indiscipline amongst the citizens.
"There is a need for a comprehensive policy to address issues of indiscipline amongst the citizens. However, the government alone cannot do everything, all stakeholders must come together to help in educating citizens on the need to maintain decorum, orderliness and adherence to rules and regulations which will foster mutual respect and orderliness for sustainable development and national transformation."
The newly elected president of the Council of CIISM, Amb. Dr. Mrs Temile Uduogho Oritseweyinmi in her address said she is overwhelmed by the load of support and encouragement she enjoys already as the president of the governing council of institution.
"This appointment is not just a personal milestone, it is a call to greater service. With the contributions of the past efforts and most importantly the renewed commitment towards capacity building for human capital development. I wish to express my sincere appreciation to my predecessor, Dr. Peter Nmrakpo for his efforts and time he devoted towards making this institution a great one", she said.

Also the Chief host of the event, Registrar of CIISM Dr. Adelanke Peter Oyintoke, DFCISM ACA MNIM congratulated the new council members as well as the recipients of the Doctorate honours.

Dr. Alex Nwankwo (CEO Amity global network), Dr. Tola Sunday Yusuf, Dr. Saheed Ekeolere, Dr. Emeka Henry Inegwu, Dr. Muhammed Bello, Dr. Mrs Lulu Prisca Nonyelum and others.
Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of the certificate of the honorary Doctorate degree to worthy recipients including, Dr. Alhaji Shehu Mohammed (Sarkin Shanu Kano), Oba Dr. Alaba Omotunde, HE. His former principal Late Rt. Hon. Prince Akinremi JAGABAN , a former member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency of the 9th/part of 10th House of Representatives from Oyo State was also a businessman and philanthropist, known for his dedication to public service, social justice, and the development of his community. Sadly, he passed away on July 10, 2024, at the age of 51.
Similarly, the bride, a lawyer and the Managing partner, Cyan Attorneys admitted she married a very kind man and promised to love her husband, respect and treat him with utmost dignity in the presence of the congregation.
