During the factory tour, the delegation was introduced to over 25 advanced industrial embroidery and monogram machines used in garment customization and mass production.

Another significant aspect of the tour was a visit to a high-capacity production warehouse, where Ambassador Ramalan observed advanced automated production systems capable of producing thousands of garments within a short period.

The CSOs followed the press conference with a protest at Eagle Square to reaffirm the need for SERAP to seek for appeal rather than creating tension on social media.
Civil Society Organisations, CSOs, have urged the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, to seek redress through the courts rather than escalate tensions following a recent judgment of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, ABUJAPRESS reports
The groups said while parties reserve the right to disagree with court decisions, the proper channel remains the appellate process, warning that sustained public reactions could erode trust in the judiciary and inflame the political atmosphere.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Ambassador Dr Duke Alamboye, National Secretary of Nigerian Youths in Politics and convener of the National Security Summit for the Green Assembly Initiative and Nigerian Youth Organisations, said the call became necessary after the May 5, 2026 ruling involving SERAP and officials of the Department of State Services.
He noted that the court, presided over by Justice Yusuf Halilu, found certain publications linked to a September 2024 incident involving alleged unlawful invasion of SERAP’s office to be defamatory, awarding damages and ordering public apologies alongside post-judgment interest.
“As Civil Society Organisations committed to the rule of law, constitutionalism, and democratic accountability, we acknowledge the authority of the judiciary as the final arbiter in disputes of this nature.
“We therefore reaffirm the importance of respecting court decisions, regardless of individual or institutional dissatisfaction, and of pursuing any legal remedies strictly through established appellate processes where necessary,” he said.
Alamboye expressed concern over SERAP’s public reaction to the ruling, stating that continued statements rejecting the judgment rather than pursuing appeal could heighten tensions.
While we recognise the right of any party to express disagreement, we strongly believe that continued issuance of highly charged public statements at this stage risks escalating tensions and may inadvertently undermine public confidence confidence in judicial processes,” he added.
He added that sustained media narratives around ongoing litigation could be misinterpreted by the public and strain institutional trust, including perceptions about judicial independence and the conduct of security agencies.
Also speaking, Executive Director of the Coalition of Patriotic Youth Leaders, Comrade Rikki Nwajiofor, stressed the need to protect the judiciary as a cornerstone of democracy.
He warned that politicising judicial outcomes could deepen divisions, especially in a sensitive political period, and urged all parties to avoid inflammatory statements. What we call a simple call is, Sarah, please, take further judicial process. Appeal.”
Nwajiofor said the group was not taking sides but was focused on preserving democratic institutions and ensuring that disputes are resolved through lawful means.
The CSOs followed the press conference with a protest at Eagle Square to reaffirm the need for SERAP to seek for appeal rather than creating tension on social media.

In a powerful address at the Plug and Play x NIMENA Innovation Night during Singapore Maritime Week, Engr. Dr. Eferebo I. Sylvanus, the National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Marine Engineers and Naval Architects, issued a clarion call for Nigeria to transition from a passive participant in the maritime sector to a globally competitive power.
Addressing a diverse gathering of international maritime leaders, policymakers, and investors, Dr. Sylvanus argued that the true potential of Nigeria’s blue economy can only be unlocked through a steadfast commitment to technical sovereignty.
He emphasized that economic independence is inextricably linked to the ability to innovate internally, stating, "Technical sovereignty is the foundation of economic sovereignty. We cannot continue to build critical sectors on imported expertise alone."
Expanding on this vision, he highlighted the necessity of self-reliance in maritime oversight, noting, "Technical sovereignty through an indigenous classification society is a very critical aspect that needs to be echoed. We must prioritize creating marine standards and ensuring indigenous local vessel classifications and standards are developed locally."
To achieve this, he advocated for the implementation of the Triple Helix model—a synergistic partnership between government, industry, and academia—to foster a robust indigenous innovation ecosystem.
The event featured high-level participation from notable legislative and diplomatic figures, including Hon. Boma Goodhead, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring.
Emphasizing the legislative commitment to these goals, Hon. Boma Goodhead stated, "Our focus remains on creating a legislative environment that mandates and supports the utilization of local talent and resources. It is through such deliberate policy frameworks that we can ensure the maritime sector becomes a true cornerstone of our national economy."
Throughout his remarks, Dr. Sylvanus drew critical parallels between Nigeria’s aspirations and Singapore’s established success, noting that the host nation's maritime dominance was built on a foundation of policy consistency and the deep integration of academic research into industrial application.
This sentiment was echoed by session moderator John Ang, who highlighted that successful innovation must be embedded into the daily operations of institutions, noting, "The most successful innovation ecosystems are those where collaboration is not optional—it is embedded into how institutions, startups, and governments operate daily."
The importance of international partnership was further emphasized by Hemant Naik, who observed, "As we scale new energy shipping solutions globally, the countries that will lead are those that can de-risk innovation through strong partnerships and clear regulatory frameworks."
The gathering also welcomed Amb. Francisca K. Omayuli, Head of Mission at the Nigerian High Commission to Singapore, and Dr. Seng-Chuan Tan, President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, all of whom witnessed the Chairman's roadmap for a technologically independent maritime sector.
Beyond theory, the discourse touched on the practical necessity of establishing maritime technology innovation hubs and joint Nigeria-Singapore research initiatives to bridge existing gaps in technical infrastructure.
Supporting this view, Dr. Augustine Ada Elakpa reinforced the importance of indigenous research, stating, "For Nigeria to truly compete, we must invest in applied research that directly solves industry problems. Innovation must be practical, scalable, and locally relevant."
A particularly vibrant highlight occurred toward the end of the event, as the focus shifted to the frontline of digital transformation.
A cohort of startup founders and tech entrepreneurs took the stage to pitch their innovative products and maritime solutions.
These pitches were delivered directly to a global audience of prospective investors, showcasing the high-level technical talent and entrepreneurial spirit ready to drive the next phase of Nigeria's maritime evolution.
Ultimately, Dr. Sylvanus concluded that while Nigeria possesses immense untapped opportunities in maritime logistics and offshore energy, the path forward requires a shift from potential to structured execution.
"Nigeria does not lack potential; what is required now is structured execution," he reaffirmed. "With the right alignment of policy, people, and partnerships, we can transform our maritime sector into a major driver of national economic growth."
By aligning policy with the right talent and global partnerships, NIMENA believes Nigeria can transform its maritime sector into a primary engine for national economic growth and long-term stability.

The Umuchukwu Progressive Union (UPU) has declared that the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria affirming the change of the community’s name from Nkerehi to Umuchukwu is final and irreversible.
Speaking on behalf of the union, the very proactive President General, Chief Adinchezor Chukwuemeka said the judgment has conclusively settled all disputes surrounding the identity of the community, warning that any covert or overt attempt to revert to the former name, Nkerehi, would not succeed.
He noted that the apex court’s decision, which upheld the government gazette recognising Umuchukwu, represents the highest legal authority on the matter and must be respected by all parties.
“The verdict of the Supreme Court of Nigeria has come to stay. It is not subject to further debate or manipulation. Any surreptitious effort to return to the old name Nkerehi will fail because the law is clear and binding,” Chief Chukwuemeka stated.
The UPU further emphasised that the transition to Umuchukwu followed due democratic process, including a referendum overwhelmingly supported by community members, and subsequently validated through all levels of the judiciary.
On traditional leadership, the association reaffirmed that the election of Kenneth Maduka as the traditional ruler of Umuchukwu remains valid, lawful, and binding.
According to Comrade Chukwuemeka, the process that produced Igwe Maduka was conducted in line with established guidelines and under the supervision of relevant authorities from the Anambra State Government, including officials from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
He stressed that the outcome reflected the will of the people, adding that the overwhelming support recorded in the election underscores the legitimacy of Igwe Maduka’s ascension to the throne.
“The election of Igwe Kenneth Maduka remains a settled matter. It was free, fair, and conducted under government supervision. The mandate given to him by the people is clear and cannot be undermined by dissenting voices,” he added.
The union called on residents and stakeholders to disregard what it described as misleading narratives aimed at creating confusion, urging the community to remain united and focused on development.
UPU maintained that with the legal affirmation of its name and the recognised leadership structure in place, Umuchukwu is poised to continue its progress under a stable and lawful traditional institution.

Board Director at APICES Finance, Chief Moses Chukwu, who represented the Board Chairman Mrs. Evie Ukodiko at the launch described the opening as the first step in a long-term plan to build a financial powerhouse that contributes to national economic growth and empowers stakeholders across sectors
APICES Finance Company Limited has officially launched, promising innovative financial solutions and inclusive opportunities targeted at small and medium enterprises and Nigerian youths.
Speaking at the launch on Wednesday, Group Managing Director of APICES Finance Company Limited, Chief Daniel Oniko said the firm seeks to bridge gaps in the financial sector while fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth.
He emphasised that it also aims to empower lower, middle, and upper segments of the market through tailored savings and investment products, adding that its strategies also include nurturing the next generation of leaders in the financial sector through practical experience and skills development.
He explained the vision behind the establishment, saying his 24 years of banking experience motivated him to create a platform that contributes to Nigeria’s economic growth.
He highlighted the firm’s focus on youth development, stating that the company is grooming young employees to become future captains of industry by immersing them in financial transactions and operational processes, adding that the company stands out through knowledge, experience, and unique products that are not widely available in Nigeria.
He detailed two key offerings for the market, saying: "I just talked about the gold-for-cash facility. I don't think any bank in Nigeria is doing that. And that is something we are bringing to the market; to uplift people who have the wealth that is tied in their pillow, that we can actually exploit that to make them trade and understand that they can trade with that even when they still own the value of gold. So we are coming back.
“We are also doing debt factoring. Debt factoring, of course, is a legal framework where funds are actually released for some contractors and other contractors and companies who are doing supplies and all that to various companies where their payment circle is being withheld and all that. And we are ready to come and play on that field to actually release such funds to boost the economy and create more wealth for people."
He noted that a strong work ethic and profitability analysis remain crucial, saying many opportunities exist in Nigeria that are often overlooked. He said APICES Finance intends to lift businesses from lower levels to higher operational and financial success.
Board Director at APICES Finance, Chief Moses Chukwu, who represented the Board Chairman Mrs. Evie Ukodiko at the launch described the opening as the first step in a long-term plan to build a financial powerhouse that contributes to national economic growth and empowers stakeholders across sectors.
Chukwu highlighted APICES’ mission to support customers, partners, farmers, businesses, and youths, emphasising shared prosperity and wealth creation. He explained the firm’s commitment to digitalisation, stating that all applications and processes are technology-driven to efficiently reach underserved communities.
Chukwu highlighted investment opportunities for Nigerian youths, saying, "We have so many youths that have skills that can convert their skills into money. But because they lack opportunity and they lack access to finance, most of those dreams remain a mirage. And that is why we say, we are intentional and it is a partnership for prosperity. When we discover such youths who have skills, have talents, we will partner with them to bring that dream to reality and convert it into money."

Arome said the government’s initiatives aimed at boosting agriculture would help ensure food security, while ongoing reforms were designed to stabilize the economy and create opportunities for Nigerians.
He called on citizens to demonstrate patriotism and support government efforts, stressing that rebuilding the country is a collective responsibility.
“We must all join hands to rebuild Nigeria because the responsibility to build our nation lies with all of us,” he said.
The RTIFN national secretary also commended Tinubu for initiatives aimed at supporting students through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, noting that the programme has expanded access to higher education for many young Nigerians.
He further praised the administration’s efforts to boost national revenue, which he said has enabled state governments to meet obligations such as the regular payment of workers’ salaries.
Arome also highlighted the President’s push for financial autonomy for local governments, describing it as a major step that would accelerate grassroots development across the country.
He added that reforms introduced by the administration have improved the ease of doing business and are expected to stimulate economic growth.
Speaking on the objectives of RTIFN, Arome explained that the group was established to combat misinformation and ensure that Nigerians receive accurate information about government policies and programmes.
According to him, providing factual information about the activities of the Tinubu administration will help citizens better understand the reforms being implemented to reposition the country for long-term development.

Accord Faction Slams INEC Over Adeleke Listing, Insists Clement Kolawole Is the ONLY Legal Candidate
Court Order Ignored? Chris Imumolen’s Camp Accuses Independent National Electoral Commission of Backing ‘Wrong Candidate’ in Osun Showdown
The leadership and faithful members of the *Accord loyal to Chris Imumolen* strongly condemn what can only be described as a reckless and partisan action by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Osun State gubernatorial process.
Despite a subsisting and valid court order recognizing Prof. Chris Imumolen as the authentic National Chairman of the Accord Party, INEC proceeded with deliberate disregard for the rule of law by listing Ademola Adeleke as the Accord gubernatorial candidate in Osun State.
This action is not only unlawful; it is a direct assault on constitutional order, party autonomy, and the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic framework.
INEC Is Not a Faction of Accord
INEC is not a member of the Accord Party. INEC is not an interested party in our internal leadership matters. INEC is not a political stakeholder to defend one faction over another.
INEC is constitutionally established as a neutral and independent electoral umpire, mandated to regulate political parties without bias, fear, or favour. Yet, in this instance, the Commission has acted in a manner that gives the disturbing impression that it has chosen sides, aligning itself with the Maxwell-led faction contrary to a valid judicial pronouncement.
Even more alarming is the speed and manner with which INEC Osun responded after the primaries conducted by the Prof. Chris Imumolen-led leadership. The primaries were conducted on a Sunday, and shockingly, INEC issued a declaration that same Sunday , a non-working day , invalidating the exercise.
Such extraordinary administrative speed raises serious and legitimate questions:
* How was a thorough review conducted within hours? * What processes were followed? * Why the urgency? * And who benefited from such haste?
The Nigerian public deserves answers.
The Lawful Candidate Remains Hon. Clement Kolawole
Let it be clearly and unequivocally stated: The only legally recognized and duly nominated candidate of the Accord Party in Osun State is Hon. Clement Kolawole, whose nomination form was properly submitted to INEC following a validly conducted primary election under the lawful National Chairman.
Any other listing is premature, questionable, and subject to judicial review.
Respect for the Judiciary Must Be Non-Negotiable
When a High court gives an order recognizing party leadership, compliance is not optional. Selective obedience to court orders undermines democracy and encourages institutional lawlessness.
The matter remains before the Federal High Court for final determination, and we have absolute confidence that the judiciary , the last hope of the common man will rise to defend the rule of law and protect democratic sanctity.
If a regulatory body begins to:
* Disregard subsisting court orders, * Impose its preference on internal party affairs, * Appear to defend one faction against another, * Or act with suspicious speed in favor of certain political interests,
then democracy itself is placed at risk.
Nigeria’s democracy cannot thrive where arbitrariness replaces law, and where regulatory institutions overstep constitutional boundaries.
We state categorically:
1. Prof. Chris Imumolen remains the authentic National Chairman of the Accord Party as recognized by law. 2. Hon. Clement Kolawole is the only validly nominated Accord candidate in Osun State. 3. INEC must immediately correct its records to reflect compliance with the subsisting judicial order. 4. Any attempt to undermine lawful party leadership will be vigorously challenged through all legal and constitutional means available.
We are not intimidated. We are not deterred. We are fully committed to due process, democratic order, and the supremacy of the Constitution.
History will judge institutions not by convenience, but by their adherence to justice.
The Accord Party under Prof. Chris Imumolen will continue to stand firm in defense of party integrity, democratic accountability, and the rule of law.
Justice may be delayed, but it cannot be denied.
*Signed,* Peter Itodo, Jagunmolu Moses & Lawrence Ojaide For and on behalf of the Leadership of the Accord Party (Prof. Chris Imumolen Loyal Structure)

2026 Convention: I’ve no interest in contesting for APC National Youth leader, says Obidike
Former aspirant for the position of National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chukwuebuka Obidike, has ruled out any intention to contest for the office at the party’s forthcoming national convention.
Obidike made this clarification in an interview with our correspondent amid speculations and reports suggesting that he was preparing to re-enter the race for the influential party position. He described such reports as misleading, stressing that he has neither declared nor shown interest in contesting for the office.
Chief Obidike Chukwuebuka who is the Chief Executive Officer of Clarivo Oil and Gas explained that his decision not to contest should not be interpreted as a withdrawal from party activities or a lack of commitment to the APC, rather, he said it reflects a personal choice to focus on strengthening his businesses while continuing to contribute to the party’s growth in other ways.
Asked if he had any preferred aspirant for the position of APC National Youth Leader, Obidike said he has not endorsed any candidate, noting that he believes the process should be open, fair, and driven by the party’s constitution and internal democratic principles.
Speaking further, Chief Obidike, who is also the Executive Director of Clarivo Holdings Limited, said that if the APC considers him useful in any other form or position that he is ready to offer myself to serve.
Obidike Chukwuebuka also emphasized the need for unity and discipline within the party as preparations for the national convention gather momentum. He urged party leaders, delegates, and members to place the collective interest of the APC above personal ambitions, noting that cohesion remains critical to the party’s strength and electoral success.
He called on youths within the party to remain constructive, focused, and supportive of the APC’s leadership, adding that meaningful engagement and responsible participation are essential for sustaining the party’s vision at both national and grassroots levels.
