HAJARA WANKA: A WOMAN OF ACTION

Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, the Hon Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs Bauchi State was born into the celebrated family of Tafawa Balewa and Yakubu Wanka in Bauchi State.

She is one of the granddaughters of the first and the last Prime Minister of Nigeria, Sir Abubakar Tafawa.

The mother of Hajara Wanka is the second daughter of Prime Minister, Tafawa Balewa.

Her late father Yakubu Wanka, Wazirin Bauchi, was a respected technocrat, bureaucrat, banker, and academic.

He was a college classmate to the late Alhaji Shehu Shagari, the first democratically elected President in Nigeria.

The new commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hajara Wanka is adequately nurtured in both Western and Islamic education.

She is an Alumni of ABU Zaria. She toiled and performed in numerous scopes of life.

She served as Special Assistant on MDGs to a former Governor of Bauchi State.

She served as an elected Deputy National Women Leader of People's Democratic party (PDP).

She equally served at different Government and non- Government agencies in the country.

The name Hajara Wanka is well discerned in the country.

She is the National Coordinator of *"Change Makers Nigeria".*

She is an outstanding politician and grassroots mobilizer.

It has gone into history that she competed competently for the Bauchi South Senatorial seat under the platform of the PDP in the 2018 Bauchi South Senatorial bye-election.

Hajara Wanka is a powerful woman. It is a fact, that strong women have a disposition and extraordinary character.

She possessed exemplary temperaments and character.

The Hon Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs has the grandiloquence of her grandfather, Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa, the tenacity, and organizational acumen of her late father, Waziri Yakubu Wanka, and the well-known unpretentiousness of her mother, Hajiya Binta.

It is a certainty, that innovation differentiates between a leader and followers.

She is highly resourceful, visionary, and with a charming personality.

As the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs in Bauchi State, I was pleased to participate in the much-awaited distribution of food and non-food items as palliatives to vulnerable citizens across the state. In a well-attended ceremony on Saturday, September 16, 2023, His Excellency Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed had flagged off the distribution at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium. Over 500 beneficiaries had gone home with 25kg of rice and 10,000 Naira each on that day.

The palliative program, which I was honored to oversee, provided 89,000 bags of rice distributed across all 20 local government areas. We also provided 10,000 Naira each to the most vulnerable citizens, mass transportation buses, and payment of students' scholarships. Additionally, we paid outstanding gratuities and leave grants to retired and active civil servants, as well as special allowances to volunteer health workers, casual workers, and environmental sanitation agents. This was aimed at alleviating the economic hardship experienced by citizens following the recent removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.

Adequate arrangements were made to ensure the targeted beneficiaries in both urban and rural areas were reached. The symbolic presentation of the palliatives by His Excellency, the Emir, Deputy Governor and other dignitaries marked a great start to bringing relief across Bauchi State. I am committed to executing my duties for the benefit of all citizens.

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED ADEKUNLE TINUBU

SHEIKH ZAKZAKY’S RIGHTS WERE VIOLATED BY THE PAST REGIMES, AND THIS CRIMES MUST BE HALTED.

My zeal for the advancement of fundamental rights compelled me to write this letter to President Tinubu. I'm writing to remind the current administration of His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky's (H) fundamental rights that were violated by the past regimes.

The present administration could recall the Zaria massacre executed by the Buhari regime through the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, on Saturday, December 12, 2015, against the followers of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky. At least 1,000 civilians were killed, and the bodies of the victims of the massacre were secretly buried by the army in a mass grave in Mando Kaduna, Kaduna State.

The Zaria massacre was a mission to eliminate His Eminence Sheikh Zakzaky and his followers. Please recall, the scenario started with the so-called road blockade, during which the Nigerian Army fabricated lies just to eliminate and wipe off a man who said no to injustice.

Despite the crimes of the Zaria massacre committed, the Buhari regime denies Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife Zeenah their passports, with which they could go abroad for their medical check-up as well as treatment. This is a total violation of their rights to freedom of movement and medication as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which grants all citizens freedom of movement.

Apparently, Sheikh Zakzaky's critical health condition has not been given the needed attention, and our concern over the deteriorating health of Sheikh Zakzaky is growing, as a person with this critical condition shouldn't be left like that without proper medical attention. It is the height of injustice to deny Sheikh the best medical attention, taking into consideration what has been done to him, his family, and millions of his followers.

Top PDP Stakeholders in Southern Kaduna On a Condolence Visit to Ungwan Wakili

It was an emotional outing today for the incoming Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr John Markus Ayuba, the Senator-elect representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Hon. Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung, the member representing Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency, Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, the Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government Council, Hon. Francis Sani Zimbo, and other members of the entourage as they paid a visit to the families of those killed in the recent attack on Ungwan Wakili in Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State.

The team visited each of the bereaved families and commiserated with them, the site of a mass burial where 9 of the victims were buried and also attended the funeral of one of the deceased who was buried separately on the request of her children. Earlier, the team paid a condolence visit to the Agwatyap, HRH Sir Dominic Gambo Yahaya and also visited the District Head of Zango Urban, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Tasiu.

After the visit to the families of the deceased, the team also visited those injured in the attack at the General hospital, Kafanchan, and requested the Director of the hospital to do whatever is possible to give them the treatment they need to get back on their feet again.

Other members of the team were Hon. Allahmagani Dauda, Hon. Danjuma Bello Sarki, Hon. Sam Kambai (Zango Constituency), Hon. Yohanna Gandu Chawai (Kauru/Chawai Constituency), Candidates for the State House of Assembly election on March 18, under the umbrella of the PDP.

Atiku inaugurates legal team, charges it to reclaim mandate and strengthen democracy

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday inaugurated the legal team to challenge the controversial presidential election of February 25, 2023.

The PDP presidential candidate, while inaugurating the legal team at his campaign headquarters in Abuja, charged it to establish the claim of illegality in the February 25 presidential election and reclaim the mandate of the Nigerian people.

Atiku told the team that apart from reclaiming the mandate from those who undertook the electoral heist that was not a reflection of the will of Nigerians, the legal team should also use the opportunity of the trial to strengthen constitutional democracy in the country.

Addressing the team headed by Chief J. K. Gadzama, SAN, at the conference room of his office at the campaign headquarters, Atiku said it was imperative that they work assiduously in reclaiming the mandate not necessarily because of him and the PDP, but to strengthen democracy and the electoral process and for generations unborn.”

BOLA TINUBU CANNOT DEFEAT ATIKU

Buhari didn't go to the 2019 presidential election conceding christian votes to his opponents. Buhari lost Benue to Atiku by 20k votes, he won Nasarawa, did well in Adamawa, Plateau and Edo states which have considerable christian population. Tinubu isn't lucky as Buhari, his same faith ticket has made APC lose grounds in a lot of areas where christians have a say. Primarily, Asiwaju lifelines are the SW and 11 Muslim majority states in Nigeria. He will do well in the SW but as for the latter he has to share votes with Atiku and Kwankwaso. Atiku is so lucky because he is poised to secure votes from the plethora of votes in the Muslim north, being a Fulani Muslim himself and also do favorably well in the South south and christian north. Tinubu doesn't enjoy this advantage. I can't imagine Atiku who is option A in most Muslim northern states and option A and B interchangeable in the South South and christian north to lose to a Bola Tinubu who is only option A in his SW region and in Yobe and Borno and option B in other Muslim majority states sharing votes with Atiku and Kwankwaso. For Tinubu to win, the voters turnout in the SW must be so high and he has to secure 70-80 percent of the total votes cast there in order to compliment whatever he gets from the North. Is this possible? Clearly not in Osun State. In a matter of hours I envisage Atiku as the president elect.

Don't trust anything that has to do with APC. Whenever APC is mentioned, the first thing that comes to Any Sensible And Rational mind is fraud. A typical example is the Buhari-led govt.
