It all depends on the version of the processor we are looking at.

Phones / Is Snapdragon Really Better Than MTK? by aramanda14: 11:45am On Aug 28, 2019
Qualcomm snapdragon processor has been for years the “thought to be” better smartphone processor compared to the MediaTek (MTK) because it has been used with a lot of top rated phones. Although this afore mention myth was true some years back following the low AI power delivered to users who purchased phones with MTK processor, as the users experienced low graphics display, tardy or missing system updated and other complains.
Are phones built with snapdragon processors cool? Sure they are, but does that mean MediaTek processors are bad? Of course not, surprisingly the MediaTek (upgraded) and Snapdragon processors have same central processing unit cores.
And also as much as the snapdragon processors are cool and great, snapdragon processors offer less level of Artificial Intelligence for most snapdragon series compared to MediaTek Helio Series (e.g P90) which deliver more AI power as it has additional AI accelerator chip and a better face Detection Engine.
It is important to know that not all phones with large snapdragon processing unit and high clock speeds are worth the price most of them are usually outdated and have no much spec but just there to blow your mind out of the main purpose of getting a phone. Samsung and xiaomi flagship phones budget chips are prime examples of this. They offer decent CPU specs, which don’t possess quite enough ability for heavier tasks like gaming.
Considering xiaomi, Huawei and even Samsung low end phones, there are some good System on Chip(SoC) choices if you’re on a budget. However, you have to be increasingly careful which chip you pick as the price gets lower as most of them are outdated. OPPO is a phone brand that is innovative in making use of processors, they have a good SoC by integrating different chipset to achieve the best specs which are exactly what they are and offer good specifications.
In all snapdragon processors are okay but not all are as updated as the big CPU. MTK are as well okay and following the fact they can be optimized on phone system.
Most times going for processor which are updated and capable of handling large RAM, give best processing speed is necessary.
Asking me what processor in phone I will go for? I do chose MediaTek processor following their recent improvement and trusted chipset as they are going to produce what will make them outshine their competitors. So going for OPPO devices, since they seem to be one prominent brand using such processor won’t be a bad idea.

Phones / Re: 5 Things You Need To Know About OPPO Phones by aramanda14: 3:52pm On Aug 27, 2019
Lordjb:
Nice one, thinking of going for Oppo A5s
I know you are getting the right smartphone.
chumsfortech:
1. The quality is always the same all over the world.

OPPO doesn’t manufacture substandard versions for the Nigerian market.
Unlike other OEMs that make phones with a subpar standard for the African and Nigerian market, OPPO mobile maintains the same standard for all their products around the world. OPPO makes sure that all their phones are of a uniform standard, hence ensuring that all their consumers, irrespective of their country and continent, have the same product.
This is an indication that they recognize and value all their customers alike and are interested in making their innovations accessible to all.

2. The 2-year warranty is always a standard whether the phone costs 35k or 139k.

Product warranty is an issue that a lot of OEM battle with. Most of them provide warranty based on the price range of the phone, hence some of their low-cost products have very little warranty duration or none at all.
This is not the case with OPPO mobile. All OPPO smartphones come with a 2-year warranty regardless of the purchase price. Whether it is their cheapest smartphone, the A3s which sells for N34,900, or the F11Pro which goes for N139,000, they both come with an enforceable 2-year warranty.

3. OPPO never gets hot, neither does it hang or shut down suddenly.

There are some major fears that a user has when deciding to purchase an Android smartphone, top on the list of these fears are unnecessary hanging and overheating. Some smartphones overheat even to the point of explosion. This is not the case with OPPO smartphones.
OPPO devices are innovatively designed with a heat dissipation mechanism that drastically reduces heat emission from their devices. In fact, the OPPO F11Pro has thermal gel near its CPU to completely eliminate overheating. Also with the hyper boost feature of the OPPO smartphones, there is a specialized optimization for the system, games and apps, which ensures a glitch-free performance whether you are immersed in a game, or switching between multiple apps.
With OPPO smartphones, all your fears are forever gone!

4. The battery is big in capacity, Charges fast and doesn’t discharge too.
For a country like Nigeria where electricity is an issue, a smartphone with a big and long-lasting battery is very important. OPPO smartphones do not only have big batteries that are incredibly long-lasting and sufficient to last for 18hours straight, even when with full everyday use, OPPO also has a fast charge technology that is 3 times better than that provided by every other smartphone OEM.
The VOOC charge system is a proprietary rapid-charge technology created by OPPO, which, is able to charge OPPO devices from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes. The VOOC Flash Charge circuit technology lowers the temperature of the charging adapter and creates an interface from the adapter to the phone, which improves the speed and safety of the charge.

5. Flaunts the aesthetically appealing Color OS.
OPPO smartphones also run on a unique operating system known as the Color OS. Color OS is an operating system created by OPPO, it is based on Google's operating system; Android.
The Color OS follows the idea of borderless design to bring about the most intelligent system experience, featuring a whole new interface, from home page to app icons, font sizes to background colors. With the Color OS all OPPO smartphones, have a uniquely beautiful user interface and experience.

The OPPO smartphone experience is by far the most intuitive, intelligent and seamless and absolutely reliable experience for all users. For more information about OPPO smartphone devices, visit www.oppo.com/ng

Phones / OPPO Mobile Unveils Market Entry With Two Devices by aramanda14: 4:23pm On May 07, 2019
Global smartphone maker, OPPO Mobile, has officially announced its presence in Nigeria with the launch of its 2019 flagship devices, the OPPOF11 Pro and the OPPO F11 Pro Avengers limited edition.

The limited edition is in line with Marvel Studios partnership, the company stated at the unveiling of the devices on Friday.

Addressing guests at the event, the Marketing Manager, OPPO Mobile Nigeria, Nengi Akinola, spoke about OPPO’s drive to always deliver products with superior quality, high standard and pioneer designs.

She said “OPPO is a brand that is involved in ‘many firsts’ globally and is also expanding in not just making smartphones but also providing superior smartphone technology to every single person all over the world. From 5G to Internet of things, OPPO is constantly innovative. One of the reasons we are launching the F11 Pro in Nigeria is to mark a major step which is OPPO coming into the market to make a bold statement.”

During the product presentation, the brand’s key opinion leaders, a paramount professional photographer, Anny Robert; popular OAP, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode; and former BBNaija housemate, Bamike (Bambam) Olawunmi, all came up to speak about their personal experiences with the phone.

After using the phone to take some pictures, Anny described the OPPO F11 Pro as “that device that shoots portrait pictures just like a DSLR camera. The camera quality and its features are second to none. I have never seen anything like it on any smartphone. I was impressed with the 48MP+5MP dual rear camera setup, especially the F1.79 aperture.

“Its performance in low-light conditions is very impressive! The camera sensor can increase the area of a single photosensitive unit by four times in low-light conditions, to significantly improve the light-sensing capability and capture more details. It’s an experience you need to have to understand this mind-blowing feat,” he added.

The Product Manager, OPPO Mobile Nigeria, Sope Sogbesan, said, “OPPO provides a two-year warranty on the F11 Pro.”
Phones / New OPPO F11 Pro To Rival Samsung And Apple Smartphones In Nigeria by aramanda14: 5:28pm On Apr 25, 2019
It is no longer news that the smartphone market in Nigeria has become more interesting in 2019, with the active participation of global smartphone brands. For the average Nigerian, this means access to superior technology enjoyed in Europe and other parts of the world. It is basically goodbye to substandard products and hello to cutting edge technology.

OPPO is taking the first step to announce the F11 Pro at an official launch event in Nigeria on Friday, 26th of April, 2019. From what we gather, the phone has a breathtaking 48+5MP camera, a hidden front camera that rises when the selfie camera is launched, a 4000mAh battery that charges really fast and depletes slowly and 6.53-inch full screen display which will be the first of its kind in Nigeria.

If this is really true, then smartphone users now have something to consider buying. Although the price hasn’t been officially announced, we gather that it might sell between N100,000 and N120,000 in retail stores nationwide.

With Samsung, Apple and Transsion Holdings having strong presence in Nigeria’s marketplace, OPPO is proving that there’s still enough room for innovation and competition. And with OPPO F11 Pro, the company is offering average Nigerians a chance to own high quality phones at very competitive prices.

Phones / Re: OPPO Reviews Anyone? by aramanda14: 10:17am On Mar 18, 2019
OPPO hasn't fully launched in Nigeria. They presently only have one phone in the market the A3s. I think they plan to launch with the OPPO F11 Pro, but I know hey haven't fully launched, so not alot of people are using their phones presently

therealesttin:

So, I have noticed that its been over 3 months OPPO mobile officially came to Nigeria and I really havent seen a lot of people using the mobile phones yet. I haven't even seen 1 single advert about OPPO in Nigeria. If you are a user of OPPO bought in Nigeria, can you kindly share review of the quality and general use cos its looking like no one is using it or are they not selling anymore?
