solotutu: Abraham's native town-the Ur of the Chaldees is in present day Iraq.(ancient land of Mesopotamia) it was one of the most populated lands in 2nd millenium Bc, as it was home to the tower of Babel.
Its near the Euphrates. Thus ........
Well, we cant say he was born black. I doubt he was dark. Those in Ur(Mesopotamia) are still like white. Abraham is the father of the Hebrew Israelite nation. He was the first to be called Hebrew. (Genesis 14:13) He came from Ur of the Chaldeans, (Genesis 11:31) which is in the country of Iraq today. Godfrey Higgins, a reliable English antiquary says, "The Chaldeans were originally Negroes". Professor Rudolph Windsor is in total agreement with this, which he states in his very noteworthy book, FROM BABYLON TO TIMBUKTU. He writes, "The Chaldeans and the other People of that region were Jet black in their complexion." The root word of Ur which is ORR means fire oven. The average temperatures in that region was 120 degrees. this is where the ancient Sumerian civilization began. The Sumerians called themselves "Saggig", which means "black headed ones", because they shaved their heads. The ancient Chaldeans were their cousins. Abraham father Terah, was a relative of Nimrod. He was a merchant who sold idols in the city of Ur. It's a widely known fact that Nimrod was the son of Cush. Cush is the progenitor of the Nubians / Ethiopians, and the Nubians are a black skinned people. So, this means that Nimrod was also black. Abraham came from this part of the world, which in his day was overwhelmingly populated with black skinned people. This is not surprising because in that region the average temperature was 120 degrees. This means that the people in that part of the world had to have large amounts of melanin in their skin, which means they were very dark skinned. Dr. Charles S. Finch III, M.D. says in his book Echoes of the Old Darkland, on pgs 5, & 32, "We know from the fate of albinos all over Africa that unprotected skin (light skin) is subject to grotesque, disfiguring cancers that are soon fatal." "Melanin, the substance that gives the skin a dark brown or black pigment, by absorbing ultra violet radiation and scattering the ions produced, protects the skin from cancer". So, for Abraham to have come from that part of the world, he had to have been very dark / black-skinned. NOTE: I've recently got a revelation about the above fact. I have a 24 year old relative in the United States Army. He just fought in the Iraqi war, he was in Iraq around the area where Abraham was from. I spoke with him after he arrived home, he told me about the sights of the land. The first thing he spoke about was the heat, he says it’s 125 degrees average, he mention that some of the white soldiers were being burned so badly by the sun that they could hardly walk. He said they had to have special covering sometimes. But the thing that struck me, was he said "THE NATIVES OF THE LAND WERE SO BLACK THAT THEY LOOKED LIKE US (“AFRICAN AMERICANS”)". In fact he went on to say that He "THOUGHT THEY WERE US (African Americans)." The people from the Iraqi town of Basra are black skinned and look like "African Americans". |

solotutu: hmm! I never said Noah, i referred to the sons of Noah. These three men are the progenitors of all races we have today. If you accept the Migration and climatic condition theory, you will understand why races look the way they are today. And note the earth divided, d distance increase as centuries wore by. Thus its no surprise that until Sea navigations began. No one knew about indians, chinese etc. i saw somewhere that Abraham's native land is modern day Basra in Iraq....and to my suprise i found that native Basra indigenes are black like africans too....so who are these guys in modern day israel? |

solotutu: Since the Flood recorded in the Holy Book, we are made to believe that all races came from the three sons of Noah [ Noe].
Little proof there is by all these races to deny this Biblical fact.
Let us see how the world came from these three men as Genesis chapter 10: 1-32 states......
SONS OF JAPHETH
His name means 'Enlargement, or extension'. This was true of him for his posterity spread all over the earth. He had 14 descendants, 7 sons and 7 grandsons.
1) Gomer-means 'completion' [ Gen 10:2-3; 1st Chro 1:5-6 ] : the progenitor of the ancient Galatians and Phrygians, from which came the natives of northern Europe known better as the Gauls and Celts, and in later times as the Germans, French, Welsh, Irish, Britons and various other Anglo-saxon races. These all came from the 3 sons of Gomer- Ashkenaz, Riphath and Torgarmah.
2) Magog-means 'increase' [10:2; 1 Chro 1:5] : He is the progenitor of the Scythians and Tartars. Whose descendants predominated modern Russia [ Ezek 38:2; 39:6 ; Rev 20:8]. Magog was also a general name of the country north of the Caucasus mountains which are between the Black and Caspian seas.
3) Madai-means 'middle' [ 10:2; 1 Chro 1:5] : He is the progenitor of the ancient Medes, Persians, and perhaps the Hindoos.
4) Javan-means 'supple or much'[10:2-4; 1 Chro 1:5-7 ] He is the progenitor of the Greeks, Italians, Spaniards, Portuguese and other nations through Elishah, Tarshish and Dodanim.. [Isa 66:19; Ezek 27:13, 19] Kittim is identified with Cyprus and Mediterranean coasts. [Num 24:24; Isa 23:1; Jer 2:10, Ezek 27:6; Dan 11:30].
5) Tubal-means 'production' [10:2; 1 Chro 1:5]: He is the progenitor of the Iberians, Georgians, Cappadocians, and other Asiatic and European races.
6) Meshech-means 'drawing out' [10:2 ;1 Chro 1:5]: the progenitor of the Muscovite tribes that now inhabit Russia.
7) Tiras-means 'desire of parents' [10:2; 1 Chro 1:5]: The progenitor of the Thracians and perhaps the Estrucans who migrated to Italy.
SONS OF HAM [Gen 10:6] His name means 'warm'. The father of Africans.
1) Cush-means 'black' [ v6-12; 1 Chro 1:8-10; Isa 11:11]: the progenitor of various Ethiopian tribes that settled south of Egypt and also overan Arabia, Babylonia and India.
2) Mizraim-means 'fortresses' [v13-14; 1 Chro 1:8-11]: the progenitor of various Egyptian tribes. Mizraim means 'double or fortresses'. Tribes of double Egypt (lower and upper Egypt) called the land of Ham came from him [Psa 78:51; 105:23-27; 106:22]. The Philistines also came from Mizraim[v14].
3) Phut-means 'brow' [v 6; Ezek 27:10]: the progenitor of the Libyans and other tribes in northern Africa [Ezek 27:10; 30:5; 38:5; Jer 46:9; Nahum 3:9].
4) Canaan-means 'lowland' [v 6,15-19; 9:18-27; 1 Chro 1:8-13]: the progenitor of peoples that settled mainly in Palestine, Arabia, Tyre, Sidon and other parts of the land promised to Abraham.
SONS OF SHEM [10:22] His name means 'name'. Through him the Messianic line was produced, mainly from Arphaxad
1) Elam-means 'high' [v 22; 1 Chro 1:17]: the progenitor of the Elamites who settled near the Persian Gulf [14:1,9; Isa 11:11; 21:2: 22:6; Jer 25:25; 49:34-39; Ezek 32:24; Dan 8:2].
2) Asshur-means 'level plain' [v 11, 22; 1 Chro 1:17]: the progenitors of the Assyrians [Num 24:22-24; Ezek 27:23; 32:22; Hos 14:3].
3) Arphaxad-means 'one that releases' [v 22]: the progenitor of the Israelites, Arabians, Edomites, Moabites, Ammonites, Ishmaelites, Midianites, and other tribes of Asia [ 11:10-32; 17:20; 25:1-18; 36:1-43].
4) Lud-means 'bending' [v 22]: the progenitor of the Lydians of Asia Minor and the Ludim of Chaldea and Persia.
5) Aram-means 'high' [v 22]: the progenitor of Aramaeans, later called Syrians.
This all shows clearly that God planned and purposed the origination of seperate races of various colors and distinct types after the flood. He further achieved this by scattering them with the division of the earth into islands and continents but only after the event at the Tower of Babel had taken place.
Expect more coming your way....... i thought HAM(khawm) in hebrew means black, hot and burnt....ancient israelites were black though |

Nairaland General › Re: 37 Things You’ll Regret When You’re Old by arantess: 11:56am On Sep 03, 2014 |
collins123: 1. Not traveling when you had the chance.
Traveling becomes infinitely harder the older you get, especially if you have a family and need to pay the way for three-plus people instead of just yourself.
2. Not learning another language.
You’ll kick yourself when you realize you took three years of language in high school and remember none of it.
3. Staying in a bad relationship.
No one who ever gets out of a bad relationship looks back without wishing they made the move sooner.
4. Forgoing sunscreen.
Wrinkles, moles, and skin cancer can largely be avoided if you protect yourself.
5. Missing the chance to see your favorite musicians.
“Nah, dude, I’ll catch TuBaba next time they come through town.” Facepalm.
6. Being scared to do things.
Looking back you’ll think, What was I so afraid of?
7. Failing to make physical fitness a priority.
Too many of us spend the physical peak of our lives on the couch. When you hit 40, 50, 60, and beyond, you’ll dream of what you could have done.
8. Letting yourself be defined by gender roles.
Few things are as sad as an old person saying, “Well, it just wasn’t done back then.”
9. Not quitting a terrible job.
Look, you gotta pay the bills. But if you don’t make a plan to improve your situation, you might wake up one day having spent 40 years in hell.
10. Not trying harder in school.
It’s not just that your grades play a role in determining where you end up in life. Eventually you’ll realize how neat it was to get to spend all day learning, and wish you’d paid more attention.
11. Not realizing how beautiful you were.
Too many of us spend our youth unhappy with the way we look, but the reality is, that’s when we’re our most beautiful.
12. Being afraid to say “I love you.”
When you’re old, you won’t care if your love wasn’t returned — only that you made it known how you felt.
13. Not listening to your parents’ advice.
14. Spending your youth self-absorbed.
You’ll be embarrassed about it, frankly.
15. Caring too much about what other people think.
In 20 years you won’t give a damn about any of those people you once worried so much about.
16. Supporting others’ dreams over your own.
Supporting others is a beautiful thing, but not when it means you never get to shine.
17. Not moving on fast enough.
Old people look back at the long periods spent picking themselves off the ground as nothing but wasted time.
18. Holding grudges, especially with those you love.
What’s the point of re-living the anger over and over?
19. Not standing up for yourself.
Old people don’t take shit from anyone. Neither should you.
20. Not volunteering enough.
OK, so you probably won’t regret not volunteering Hunger Games style, but nearing the end of one’s life without having helped to make the world a better place is a great source of sadness for many.
21. Neglecting your teeth.
Brush. Floss. Get regular checkups. It will all seem so maddeningly easy when you have dentures.
22. Missing the chance to ask your grandparents questions before they die.
Most of us realize too late what an awesome resource grandparents are. They can explain everything you’ll ever wonder about where you came from, but only if you ask them in time.
23. Working too much.
No one looks back from their deathbed and wishes they spent more time at the office, but they do wish they spent more time with family, friends, and hobbies.
24. Not learning how to cook one awesome meal.
Knowing one drool-worthy meal will make all those dinner parties and celebrations that much more special.
25. Not stopping enough to appreciate the moment.
Young people are constantly on the go, but stopping to take it all in now and again is a good thing.
26. Failing to finish what you start.
“I had big dreams of becoming a nurse. I even signed up for the classes, but then…”
27. Never mastering one awesome party trick.
You will go to hundreds, if not thousands, of parties in your life. Wouldn’t it be cool to be the life of them all?
28. Letting yourself be defined by cultural expectations.
Don’t let them tell you, “We don’t do that.”
29. Refusing to let friendships run their course.
People grow apart. Clinging to what was, instead of acknowledging that things have changed, can be a source of ongoing agitation and sadness.
30. Not playing with your kids enough.
When you’re old, you’ll realize your kid went from wanting to play with you to wanting you out of their room in the blink of an eye.
31. Never taking a big risk (especially in love).
Knowing that you took a leap of faith at least once — even if you fell flat on your face — will be a great comfort when you’re old.
32. Not taking the time to develop contacts and network.
Networking may seem like a bunch of crap when you’re young, but later on it becomes clear that it’s how so many jobs are won.
33. Worrying too much.
As Tom Petty sang, “Most things I worry about never happen anyway.”
34. Getting caught up in needless drama.
Who needs it?
35. Not spending enough time with loved ones.
Our time with our loved ones is finite. Make it count.
36. Never performing in front of others.
This isn’t a regret for everyone, but many elderly people wish they knew — just once — what it was like to stand in front of a crowd and show off their talents.
37. Not being grateful sooner.
It can be hard to see in the beginning, but eventually it becomes clear that every moment on this earth — from the mundane to the amazing — is a gift that we’re all so incredibly lucky to share. OP, how old are you?? |

Take a gud look at urslef b4 laffing and pitying odas cos ur nowhere beta dan dem. U dont know much abt d DSS and u eagerly equate dem to d military. The training DSS gives to its agent is meant to protect dem shuld they find demselves in a difficult situation, its is nowhere near d training an average soldier is subjected to. Anybody worth his salt shuld know dat the work is demading and entails making some sacrifice but its not as extreme as u paint it. They choose wives for their officers .....which planet are u from?? .FYI, the rate of fatalities suffered by d DSS since d start of d boko haram insurgency is negligible compared to dat of d army and even d police. U dont want to discourage pple but ur invariably doin dat. D DSS can neva send out a field agent to accomplish a work if he isnt up to it. U should know dat there are various roles in d DSS not just gun carrying and office work. Its one thing to inform pple but its anoda tin to try put fear in dem just because u ar not man enuff. If evryone shuld adopt ur mentality, no one wuld work in d armed forces and even d police. when he says they choose wife for their pple, he's partially true....in the SSS before you get married, they carry out background checks on your wife-to-be and if nothing is found linking her or her family with any threat to the agent and at large the society, they issue a 'permission to marry' certificate - I have seen the certificate issued to my friend 2yrs back...so in a way they choose ur wife |
