Tar. Unilag is not a good school academically. Only God knows how marks are given there. I remember a Prof from Unilag who took me a course in my third year. About 60% passed with "A" for that particular course. It was unprecedented to us. We wondered how it happened.

If you are worth an 'A', you should get it. Denying people their actual grades dont make lectures better lecturers. If only students know their right. Your example is flawed. Dont you think the lecturer taught u guys well that's why 60% ended up with 'A'. Or u dont believe you were worth the grade he gave you? (I'm assuming you are among the 60%).

I thought i was the only one that thought this. Especially in a course that is as subjective as psychology. Where there is no definite answer and knowing your lecturer's stand on a theory/ issue is crucial to passing.

Lol, you minored in psychology. That doesn't make u a master of depression. My msc dissertation is centered around depression and other SMI, but i wont claim to know abt depression as much as those going through it. Also, there is a strong correlation between depression and suicidal tendencies. The higher the severity the more likely the probability of suicide (Harter, 1993; Berman et al, 2006). I can keep citing literatures, but u have to be in dier shoes to understand. Its surprising dat someone with educational exposure like u will have an idea like this.

On a lighter mood, ur Masters degree ws in what field?

Ode! Majority of Nigerians are depressed, frustrated, angry and so on, yet most are not threatening to kill themselves. If you are depressed go to a mental facility and seek help, this is what humans do, it's only nitwits like yourself and this guy that would consider taking a life they cannot create!

She should have;
1) denied collecting 20k from him, he has no evidence to show she did (did she give him receipt of payment? Did he record the transaction? I doubt)

2) denied being a sex worker. She could say they met on the road and clicked. Hard to believe, but it will save her the inequality she will face during the course of justice as a result of her choice of work.

3) sued for rape and attempted murder. Den she can say she was defending herself from the man raping her a second time. That is more believable than the charm excuse.

With 1, 2 and 3 she cld have had a better chance of getting away with it..

I dont endorse commercial sex, but i refuse judge people based on the choices they make. That God's work.

My fears exactly, i nd my friends registered late October. Is it safe to say its been domant since den? Almost 4 months and nothing.

Im no lawyer but i can spot a lot of flaws in this 'brilliantly executed policy'.

To start with, this is taking the word 'open court' to a new level. They could use an enclosed space and still call it a mobile court. I agree it doesn't affect the justice served, but it doesn't help by torturing everybody present with intense heat from the blazing sun.

Additionally, are suspects allowed to consult their lawyers? Or to ensure a speedy process, are they denied that privileged? Is legal council provided for those that cant afford a lawyer?

Finally, what form of evidence is provided to the court? Or is it all 'hear-say'? When did' hearsay' evidence become admissible in the court of law? I understand that this kind of justice system is being practised in some countries. However, transfering such policy to a country like Nigeria that doesnt have the right infrastructure (eg functioning traffic cam) is not a particularly good idea.

I wont talk about sentencing and monitoring of convictions as someone as touched this earlier.

I believe in Lagos and the government's efficacy. It is a move in the right direction but we have jumped a lot of steps.
