It might be happening a bit later than usual, but Apple has just announced the iPhone 12. Featuring the same 6.1-inch display size as the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR before it, the latest “main” iPhone — and likely the model most people will gravitate toward — is making the transition from an LCD screen to OLED. And as rumored, the phone has flat aluminum sides for an overall look that more closely matches the iPad Pro and iPad Air (plus the iPhone 4 from years ago).
The iPhone 12 will come in black, white, blue, red, and green. Pricing starts at $799. Preorders start this Friday, and the iPhone 12 will be available on October 23rd. For storage, you can pick between 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Aside from the flat sides, it still largely resembles the iPhone 11. There’s still a notch at the top that houses Apple’s Face ID technology, though the bezels around the screen have been reduced — another perk of the OLED switch. (Crushingly, the combo Touch ID / power button from the new iPad Air didn’t make it to the iPhone this year.) Around back, the iPhone 12 has two cameras housed in a matte glass squircle, which makes for a nice contrast with the rest of the glossy back panel.
Apple has also sought to improve wireless charging on the iPhone 12, which contains a “MagSafe” system with built-in magnets to guarantee that the iPhone properly lines up with supported MagSafe accessories. Cases, charges, and other accessories snap onto the iPhone 12 magnetically. Apple is introducing a dual wireless charger for the iPhone and Apple Watch that utilizes the new MagSafe tech.
As rumored, Apple is removing the charging brick from its iPhone 12 boxes, a move it says is meant to push forward the company’s environmental goals.

Alongside the 6.1-inch iPhone 12, Apple also introduced a smaller 5.4-inch model that it calls the iPhone 12 mini.
If the iPhone 12 and 12 mini aren’t quite your speed, then you might be better served by checking out the iPhone 12 Pro, which was one of the four iPhone 12 devices revealed today. The iPhone 12 Pro features the same 6.1-inch display of the standard iPhone 12, and just like the iPhone 12, the 12 Pro will have the same ceramic shield cover for the display and stainless steel bands wrapping around the outer edges of the phone.

The iPhone 12 Pro uses a Super Retina XDR display, according to Apple. It will also use MagSafe, which was announced earlier in the day as a complementary tech for wireless charging and magnetic accessories. Finally, the 12 Pro will have IP68 water resistance and, of course, support 5G.


Apple unsurprisingly spent a lot of time talking about the cameras on the iPhone 12 Pro. We’ll be getting a 12MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view, an ƒ/1.6 aperture wide-angle lens, and a 52mm focal length telephoto camera. The 12 Pro’s camera will also support 4X optical zoom and come with the ability to record HDR video with support for Dolby Vision.


Apple, in fact, says that “Dolby Vision grading is processed live and sustained during editing,” and that the phone’s Super Retina XDR display will support HDR playback as well. Apple also promises an improved night mode for the iPhone 12 Pro, and that each of the cameras on the back of this phone will support it. Deep Fusion is also making a return in all cameras on of the iPhone 12 Pro as well.


The iPhone 12 Pro will be launching in four different colors: graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue. It’ll be launching with 128GB of storage in the base model for $999. Here in the US, pre-orders for the iPhone Pro 12 will start at 5 AM PDT on October 16th, with the phone going live a week later on Friday, October 23rd.

But with recent world events, specifically the rapid spread of the coronavirus it can be said that the closure of the Airport couldn't have come at a better time, The low rate of coronavirus infection​ in the south East can be attributed to the airports closure.
So is the closure of The Enugu international airport a blessing or a curse to the south East?

Hello Nairalander's, please i need help urgently. i applied for medicine in one of the universities in the south east (unn) but was offered medical laboratory sciences. i was later offered dentistry in their subsequent admission lists which i proceeded to accept on jamb caps through their transfer approval page. when i tried to pay my acceptance fee i was shown medical laboratory sciences on the universities portal as my course but on my jamb caps i still see dentistry though my admission status there is not admitted.
i would really appreciate any advice on how to solve these issues, both the one of my university's portal showing medical laboratory sciences and of my caps showing not admitted.

As expected, Apple finally announced some new MacBooks at its special event today. The MacBook Pro line has received a much needed refresh. The new MacBook Pro laptops still come in 13" and 15" sizes, though this time you can choose between silver and gray as colors. They're made from aluminum, even more this time around than in the previous design.

There are two 13-inch models. The entry level option is aimed at fans of the MacBook Air. It's 14.9mm thin, comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, and weighs 3 pounds. It's powered by a sixth-gen 2 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, with Iris Graphics 540, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. It is priced from $1,499 and is available today.


The high-end 13-inch model is also 14.9mm thin, and weighs 3 pounds too. The sole 15-inch iteration is 15.5mm thin, and it weighs 4 pounds. Both are thinner and lighter than their predecessors, unsurprisingly. And they both have touchpads that are two times bigger than what their predecessors had, as well as a new keyboard with the company's Butterfly mechanism that debuted in the 12-inch MacBook (though with more key travel in this case, thankfully).

Touch ID fingerprint recognition is built into the power button, as previously rumored. Multiple people can set up their fingerprints, and macOS will switch accounts based on the person who authenticates.

The biggest new feature for the high-end MacBook Pros is the oft-rumored OLED touch strip that sits above the keyboard and replaces the row of function keys. This is called Touch Bar. It shows you different things based on what you're doing with the Mac. So for example when you're typing some text you'll get iOS-like word suggestions, or even a full assortment of emoji. When you're in another app some quick options for that will be shown - in Safari, these are your most visited websites. Oh, and you can still get the row of function keys to show up, if you hold down the function key. Siri has a dedicated key in the Touch Bar, so you can invoke her as often as you want.


The new MacBook Pros have screens that are 67% brighter and with a 67% improved contrast ratio compared to the last-gen 15" model. You also get 25% more colors thanks to a wider gamut. The new 15" MBP is powered by Intel's Skylake quad-core i7 processor, paired with 2,133MHz DDR4 RAM. The laptop features Radeon Pro graphics, based on the Polaris architecture, with up to 4GB of VRAM. The SSD is up to 50% faster, with read speeds hitting 3.1GB/s. Storage capacity options will go up to 2TB.

In the high-end 13-inch model you'll see Intel's Skylake Core i5 or i7, with Iris graphics and the same superfast SSD as in its bigger sibling. Both laptops have four Thunderbolt 3 ports, supporting USB Type-C 3.1 Gen.2, as well as DisplayPort 1.2. Any of the ports can be used for charging. Last, but definitely not least, both laptops have a 3.5mm headset jack. They run macOS Sierra and get up to 10 hours of battery life.


The high-end 13-inch model will retail starting at $1,799, while the one 15-inch version starts at $2,399. The more expensive options start shipping in 2-3 weeks. All three laptops can be ordered today from Apple.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps on the planet, so even small changes warrant some attention. This isn't a small change, though. This is a big one. WhatsApp is rolling out support for video calls in the Android app, but not everyone has the feature yet.


Video calls are becoming available seemingly at random. You won't need an app update as long as you're on one of the recent beta versions (people are reporting success on a few builds). If the person on the other end doesn't have video calling enabled yet they'll just get a voice call. You'll still be able to see the video calling UI, though. The call log shows that as a video call, but tapping the video button just pulls up an error message (below).



When you have video calling, tapping the call button or contact card brings up a dialog with both voice and video as options. There may be a version of the app later that flips the switch on video calls automatically, but for now you're at the mercy of the WhatsApp gods.
