The Way northerners take that 1966 coup is a way too personal, those guys that took part in the coup are igbos by name not even s.e igbos but s.s and they lived most of their lives in North, there were equally a good number of Hausa that partook in the coup.

I am 100% Niger Deltan, why are the Igbos so eager for the ND to merge with Biafra? When the ND can use the same referendum for self determination. You are accusing the North of forcibly integrating Igbos into Nigeria, and here you are forcibly trying to integrate another region into Biafra. Is that not hypocrisy?

Look at that one up there complaining that they should be controlling our resource by the simple fact that they are "our neighbors".

During the Civil war, the people of ND were simply casualties, each side fighting to integrate us into them for the sole purpose of our wealth. We say no more, in the event of the disintegration of Nigeria, we are neither going with Biafra or the other side. We are standing on our, no longer shall we be used.
you are 100 percent niger delta how? did you grand fathers know the name Niger delta?

Dredge those rivers at your own peril.

You never move soil the land underneath dey shift and swallow roads and villages. What do you think will happen when you disturb the subterranean to widen and increase depth for the river?

We are tired of hosting ungrateful refugees from East. If you drege and widen the gullies whats the first place you think your people go run go?

Yorubas have a stake here. We need to protect interest in our future, for us and our children, our region is over saturated with Ibos, we cant absorb anymore refugees. It is therefore politically prudent that our leaders oppose any act and discourage discussion on dredging anywhere in SE. Such a task requires heavy machineries with high vibrations that will displace rocks, soil and water. The subterranean formation underneath alaibo will not absorb these impacts well and will result in human catastrophy. We say no to river dredging in East. Why cant you continue to use ports in West, is anyone evicting your people from doing their business at Apapa? No! If the space at Apapa and Tin Can is no longer sufficient to accomodate you then talk to Lagos State Governor and we can build more ports to make your business easier and smoother.
Thats common sense! Stop talking about ports and dredging you will upset us. Remember, we are brothers....and no need to upset your kins in West.

PoliticsBuhari Did It: Nigeria Will Start Exporting Yams To Europe - Agric Minister Read by Arda1000(op): 5:12pm On May 31, 2017
The minister of Agriculture and Rural Development said Nigeria will start exporting yams - He said Nigeria's agricultural sector will soon regain its lost glory as a major food producer and exporter - The minister also insisted that Nigeria has everything to be a key player in the international processed food market Audu Ogbeh, the minister of Agriculture and Rural Development said a container of yams will soon leave the shores of Nigeria for the European continentHe said the country is doing well in the exportation of of vegetables, beans and cowpeas to India, as well as cashew to Vietnam. He said: “In another two years, we will be back on the world stage where every country had recognized and expected Nigeria to live up to the name – Major Food Producer. “On the 29th of June this year, the first container of yams will be leaving the shores of Nigeria for UK. “Yes, we have been dealing with vegetables and a lot of other produce already and we will continue to be selling pulses mainly beans and cowpeas to India. The beautiful thing is that Nigerians make me proud. In spite of the trauma they have been through, their response to the call by the President to return to agriculture has been absolutely successful – Young and old, civil servants, military men, journalists, everybody is on his way back to agriculture. “We only have the challenge, now, of giving them what they need, and we will definitely meet that challenge.” The minister also insisted that Nigeria has everything to be a key player in the international processed food market. Highlighting the challenges the country need to overcome before playing a key role in the processed food market globally, the minister listed procurement of machineries, stable electricity and value of Naira. “We have to process what we grow. There are very few things we eat raw especially vegetables and fruits. But rice, sugar, milk, sorghum, millet, cassava – among those items; we are almost there. “Nigerians may find that difficult to accept now because the prices are so high and that can be explained by the sudden drop in the value of the Naira. Machineries need to be procured. We need to stabilize electricity otherwise the cost of production and processing gets too high. “Otherwise, there is no question whether Nigeria can or will get there. It is just a matter of time. “Unfortunately, for agriculture once a country slows down like we did for nearly 30 years, it becomes difficult to restart the engine. “But for Nigeria, the people are incredible and they are doing it. It took Brazil 30 years and India 50 years to be able to get to where they are now. It won’t take us that long. “In 10 years, I tell you, people across planet earth who want to respect Nigeria on agriculture will definitely have to do so; because they have no choice. We are on our way.”
