lilkech: I’m not believing this picture
Why will police first shoot you and then tie you up later? Or did they tie them and execute them? I thought ipob claimed police opened fire at people trying to shield the lawyers house
More questions... questions... questions I wonder o, why tying them up before or after killing them, they said the police came in started firing at everyone. The lawyer in his just released video said the brother told him they shot four people dead and the police took their corpses away so how and where did they pick up these two? What proves that this happened in the lawyer's compound? |

gidgiddy: We are talking about policemen, paid for by the tax payers, committing crimes by going and burning peoples homes and this one is busy talking nonsense Don't you know that with the indictment of IPOB from people like you, the police could go on the pretext of arresting the perpetrators and start arresting innocent IPOB members and people in the community? |

omenka: Coming from a human that was bragging over the news and boasting they are ready to kill more just two days ago.
When people call you lot chest beaters, it isnt a slight, it is exactly who you guys are. Very hollow noisemakers. No substance whatsoever.
See as him don dey humble like ice water. Your chest probably hurts from you pounding it day before yesterday.
Pathetic. I don't know the adjective to use in qualifying that person you quoted, I remembered how he was boasting and happy that IPOBians can now attack the police and even kill more, some of us even tried telling him that the perpetrators may not be IPOBians but he went on gloating that IPOBians can now square up with the police. In the first police report, it said "SUSPECTED" IPOB members but these ones had started indicting IPOB members already and now all fingers are pointing to them and he's now complaining. This is what you get when you talk without reasoning out the repercussion of the statement, they only reason after they've acted |

Tetehjewels: How silly can you be? The figures quoted in the article are in USD while you are mischievously quoting figures in Naira to make people feel that because they see trillion means it is bigger than the USD quoted in the article.
How daft can you wailers be?
Where did all those PDP borrowed go to? They love quoting in naira because since the naira fell in value against the dollar, the debt would be more in naira now |

There were two burnt corpses which for now nobody can prove how they died or who killed them, the other guy said members of the lawyer's family were killed with no picture, at least with that, we'd only be arguing who did the killing rather he told me read up what Kanu the liar said. |

I have attached pictures of quad-copters carrying bombs that can travel very far and at a high speed and can drop its content on any location , quad-copters are now carrying heavy guns and artillery Why not start with that ASAP instead of telling us your plans or will everything occur just on nairaland? |

kettykin: Some of you praying that IPOB Picks up arms dont know the foolish prayer you are making.
If IPOB deploy both high Altitude Drones that will be assembled thick inside the villages in the Eastern states that will be controlled using remotes and relays , you know it is easier to control a high altitude Drone that a low attitude, how would the Military or police be able to fight them .
Please dont pray for what Nigeria cannot fight , we are praying for peace all over the east now, Nigeria would need Russia , Britain, Egypt, Ireland and any other willing power to quench any fire they mistakenly ignite in the East .
IPOB might not fight the foolish battle that Boko haram fights in the North because that would endanger the whole east , but the use of drones to hit specific targets , Mind you drones can carry small improvised bombs too After your long epistle, go and pick up arms |

gidgiddy: So what you are saying is that if Policemen are killed, the Police should forget about the law they swore to uphold, no matter what, and take laws into their hand and go about burning houses and killing people?
If that is the case, that means than we are all justified to about being violent when we are aggrieved, if Police can do it, so can all of us.
What the Police have not yet told us is how unarmed IPOB overpowered them that are armed, put two of them in the back of a patrol car and burnt them there. I would really like to know how this happened Same stunts by IPOB, like Kanu like lawyer. Show us the evidence that the police burnt the house, what about seeing the gravity of what he did, he ordered for his house to burnt and he fled, just like kanu's stunt, till date no picture or video of soldiers around his compound that day |

Politics › Re: Buhari: No Date Yet To Re-open Land Borders by Area4Area: 1:07pm On Dec 03, 2019 |
gaetano: What about the cost of clearing goods at our ports,we seem to be overlooking that part. It's cheaper to move your goods from Europe/Asia to apapa than to clear it from apapa to Alaba market. Cost is the main reason people are patronizing ports of neighboring countries. Closing the borders without fixing the cost problem doesn't solve anything as every businessman strives to make profit. Major factor is the increased tariffs and the other contraband goods not even allowed to be imported like poultry and fish but are still smuggled from Benin. Rice is not contraband but you must pay the increased tariffs on it, the government did all this just to encourage local production |
Politics › Re: Buhari: No Date Yet To Re-open Land Borders by Area4Area: 1:02pm On Dec 03, 2019 |
gaetano: Again closing the border is not the way. The USA can afford to close the borders but they didn't. Our struggling economy can't afford it because business are suffering. We have better measures. Why is the US trying to build a wall along its border with Mexico, has Nigeria considered that yet? Every country has its way to fight out for itself, not one rule for everyone. the EU, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Norway etc all have ways of shielding their economies from outside just as Nigeria just did in her own way |
Politics › Re: Buhari: No Date Yet To Re-open Land Borders by Area4Area: 12:54pm On Dec 03, 2019 |
Obiaksnews: Rightly said, But i would disagree with you on some of the points you raised. The neighboring countries have a part to play in our fight against smuggling. Without being sentimental, i see reasons with the government on the closure of the Nigerian land borders. for instance goods brought from outside the ECOWAS region are being tempered with by neighboring countries. They collect the import duties from those countries but then bring it to Nigeria making us believe they are from ECOWAS nations, Thereby avoiding to pay import duties to Nigeria. Nigeria has reiterated that goods coming from outside the ECOWAS region should not be tempered with and should be brought straight to Nigeria in the containers they came with, but our neighboring countries do other wise. On the other hand fuel products which are subsided for Nigerians are being smuggled to other African countries and sold for exorbitant prices at the detriment of Nigeria and it's masses, How can you explain the existence of over 150 petrol stations along our border towns, when the people living in border town communities are just a handful ? And talking about border security, no matter how sophisticated our border security is, there would still be loopholes. USA with all it's technology is still battling with the infiltration of migrants and cocaine into it's territory and that's why they are talking about building a wall. The border closure is bigger than the issue of rice smuggling. Your brain has enough oil, you know how far, your parents should be and must be happy to have you. |

ericsmith: For once wen something is gud lets acknowledge it is n if that is to hard learn to keep quiet. i agree the closure of border is affecting some other businesses buh there is absolutely no gain without pain. Rice is the 2nd largest commodities imported into these country & the most consumed commodities of all, the aim of govt @ these time is to creat a market & acceptance ... sum1 like me could neva av settle for local rice, buh today it what i buy n consume. the gain here is most of us won't be going back to foreign rice even if the border open cos we've seen there is little or no differences. more mills to spring up, job i.e more employment & local production that will boost our GDP. thumbsup to d illiterate You've said it all there, most people didn't even know they've been eating local rice before the border closure. Some rice traders even rebag local rice into foreign rice bags to deceive those who still believe foreign rice is best because the sellers know there's no difference between some brands of local to the foreign and some mumu Nigerians will still buy it believing it is foreign. |
