Hamachi:
Zambia doesn't equal Morocco: Morocco plays a more structured, technical game. Beating Zambia 5–0 doesn’t guarantee Nigeria will dominate Morocco the same way.

Morocco Is Resilient: They haven’t lost all tournament, and they’ve beaten strong teams like Ghana and Senegal. They know how to manage tough games.

Watching replays isn’t the same as live play: Replays remove pressure, but real matches are about handling the moment—crowd, tension, momentum. That’s what makes finals hard.

Conclusion: Nigeria is strong, yes—but dismantling Morocco won’t be easy. Respecting the opponent is key to winning the title.

Who got her pregnant? That is first question that should bother everyone, especially women.

In a sane country, the person who got her pregnant would be languishing in jail right now.

But this is Nigeria, an insane country. A girl got pregnant at 15, and no one is asking the salient question.

OBJ had shortcomings and was criticized for them, but when it comes to Nigeria, his government was one of the most prosperous for Nigeria between 1999 and 2025. Tinubu's government is the worst within the same period, and that's the most important thing to Nigerians.
Prosperous to you because Nigerians only think about the enjoyment of today. You don't think about tomorrow.

It was prosperous, but you didn't worry that the government would not be able to sustain the prosperity.

They didn't build refineries, they wasted 16 billion dollars and even more on fake 24/7 electricity supply project, they didn't tackle corruption.

How do you think prosperity will continue for years?

We don't have the capacities to refine our own oil, rather we import the finished products and then subsidize them for the populace and the populace is happy because food is cheap.

Now that reality has caught up with us, you want to exonerate the originator of the whole mess and blame everything it on Tinubu simply because he grew the balls to do something OBJ should have done many years ago.

Do you people actually think Nigeria will continue to prosper by buying finished products of its own crude oil and then subsidize it to keep pump price affordable?

Have you seen our GDP per capita? Did you see the subsidy debt Buhari inherited and the one Tinubu inherited from Buhari?

Everything is not about today. Think about tomorrow too.

You are enjoying today but you don't care to put in sustainable practices that will make sure you continue to enjoy. That is the case of OBJ.

He swindled all of you.

The Moroccan team played so well against the Black Queens of Ghana yesterday. In fact, both teams displayed quality football. I was wondering if the Super Falcons could handle any of the teams.

Based on this premise, I hate to say that the Atlas Lionesses will lift the trophy. My prediction is based on what I have seen both teams play.
The Zambians played well against the Moroccans, and even led twice before Morocco forced them to a 2-2 draw.

But we saw what happened when Zambia met Nigeria.

Their two prolific strickers could not even register a single shot on target. Then, to make matters worse, the whole team was dismantled 5-0.

It is easy to see the good performances of other teams. It is hard to see the good performances of your own team because you will be in too much pressure to see beautiful football even if it is being in full display.

To really see how your team fares, watch their matches after the live match. With no pressure, you will see that the Nigerian team can actually dismantle this Moroccan team.

Iran lost 20 generals, but they achieved significant success against Israel's military shield.

For Israel to agree to a ceasefire so quickly means they felt the power of Iran.

Israel lost because they cannot say their goal for waging war was achieved. But Iran won because they defended themselves well and exposed some of the vulnerabilities of Israel.

Israel felt they could bully Iran. They threw the first blow and warned Iran not to retaliate. Iran not only retaliated, she went on to hold Israel and her allies in battle for over 2 weeks.

Just imagine Iran with so much human rights violations and suppression of minorities in its domain having nuclear weapons? You can't be serious. A country where citizens are persecuted for daring to criticize the government, a country with no democratic value or rule of law, a county where abosulte power is enshrined on an individual for 36 years... To some extent US can be trusted with Nuclear weapons because since 1945 after the Hiroshima and Nakasaki bombings the two countries have moved past that phase. The relationship between the two countries is so strong that US has military presence in Japan, I don't know why you are crying more than the bereaved.

The thing is that single moms always have a way of trying to justify what happened to them refusing to acknowledge that they made wrong choices of men, willingly opened their legs and have baby for the man.
It is not about wrong choices of men all the time.

Why do we blame men for the occurrence of every single mom?

Let me tell you a story.

When I was in the university, our social director was dating one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. The girl seemed well-behaved for someone so beautiful. She was respectful and all that.

One day, our social director caught another guy on top of her in her room off campus. Although, at the time, she was pregnant and our social director knew and even showed commitment towards marrying her.

But when he caught her with the other guy, he didn't trust that the baby in her womb was his anymore. That was how they broke up.

I don't know anymore about her story. Let us say the other guy also rejected the pregnancy, she would become a single mother. Can we blame our social director for breaking up with her?

She probably would go around trying to blame the social director for her plight without telling anyone that she was the cause of the breakup.

Women are very good at the pity game. So, don't believe that every single mom made a wrong choice of men. Some of the single moms are badly behaved and loose. Some of them are to blame.

While I will not stop any man from dating them, I will advise that you date them with sense.

Imagine a single mom telling me she had 2 kids and when I told her it was too much responsibility for me, she said I was not man enough.

Women generally are manipulative. So, men should be like our fathers. Thread carefully.
PropertiesRe: Can I Get A Refund Back? How Do I Approach My Landlord? by aremubabs: 5:57pm On Jun 20, 2025
Host78:
So, I'm in a jam right now.

I'm a student and also work online. So I decided to rent a new place last week. The major reason is that I need constant power supply.

In this area they use band A light.

But the problem is that other student occupants don't always pay for meter subscription.

Hence there is constant light but most times this particular house don't always have light.

Before paying for rent I actually asked one of the tenants, the person currently occupying the room I paid for and he actually assured me that the compound has no light issues.

So, when they gave them light a few days ago I decided to go and check the house myself and discovered they don't have light while other compounds have light.

I then decided to speak with another tenant and he started narrating the issue to me. In fact, for the last 3 days they've not seen light in the compound even though the street have had constant light.

That some tenants are even using ac, electric cooker and so on.

So when they recharge it doesn't stay long and worst some don't even pay. I was there until night when I saw one of the tenants, a lady going round to raise money they can use for subscription that night.

She didn't get a kobo from the over 20 tenants there. The compound is that big.

So, even if I say I want to sub for the prepaid meter, with 20 people I don't think N20,000 will even last for the month.

I made the payment but I'm yet to move to the house because the other occupants are still in the house.

Please I'm thinking of going to collect my rent back because I can't cope with this. How do I approach this issue please.
You may not get a refund easily, especially for the agent fees.

But instead of fighting for a refund, speak with the landlord.

The metre is registered in his name and he needs to do something about how it is used. It is not just about filling rooms with tenants. A landlord must also be concerned about certain use of properties attached to his name and identity.

Tell the landlord about the issue. He should call a meeting and find a lasting solution to the problem.

During my master's degree programme, I rented a self-con apartment close to school gate. There were about 14 rooms, all full.

There seemed to be no light issue for almost a month until one morning, I woke up and saw light everywhere outside, but not in my own room. I went outside and discovered that it was the same for every other tenant. Only our building was affected.

Soon, they sent a student to collect contribution of money to bribe NEPA. I began to wonder. Bribe NEPA for what? There was a prepaid metre, so why was the need to bribe?

To cut the long story short, it turned out that the house had bypassed metre and NEPA caught them and slammed 2 million naira charge on them. Instead of finding a way to reach a common ground with the NEPA officials, the students reconnected to direct, and began tapping light from another compound.

Hearing this, I went straight to the landlord to complain.

He didn't respond for a long while. During the time of his silence, the boys continued to find a way to beat NEPA.

They had contributed money for wire (they didn't dare come to me for contribution). So, late at night when they were sure NEPA officials would not catch them, they will connect to someone else's wire, then before 5am, they would quickly disconnect.

So, we didn't always have light throughout the day for fear of NEPA. We only had light late at night into early morning.

And the painful thing was that the light in that area was very good. Almost 20 hours per day.

Eventually, the landlord sent some people to issue quit notice to everyone. I was issued too, but the landlord called to tell me not to worry. That I could stay.

So, speak with the landlord.

Why did Israel attack in the first place?

Is the attack legitimate? Israel claims they attacked because they believe if Iran had nuclear weapons, it would attack it in the future.

International laws allows preemptive attacks.

But preemptive attack one described as IMMINENT, not one that would happen in the future.

Israel's attack on Iran is just a bullying tactic, not a preemptive attack. And the fact that the US overtly supports Israel and Trump (the Zionist) wants to join the war reeks of nothing but bullying.

Perhaps Iran has sponsored non-state attacks on Israel in the past, Israel cannot use those as preemptive defense for their unprovoked attack on Iran.

US used the atomic bomb to indiscriminately wipe out the Japanese, but look at them pretending to be the only ones capable of using nuclear weapons responsibly.
PoliticsRe: Calling Prof Wole Soyinka A Tribal Bigot Is Callous by aremubabs: 3:12pm On Jun 16, 2025

Well, the six African authors below won the Nobel Prize

Wole Soyinka (Nigeria), Naguib Mahfouz (Egypt), Nadine Gordimer (South Africa), J.M. Coetzee (South Africa), Doris Lessing (Zimbabwe), and Abdulrazak Gurnah (Tanzania).

Yeah, and off the top of my head, the following deserving great authors from Africa never won it

Chinua Achebe
Peter Abrahams
Ngugi wa thiong o. (who definetly should have long been nominated, now he is dead)
Amos Tutuola (never even considered)
Ferdinard Eyomo
Camara Laye. (A whole Camara Laye).

Nobel prizes are hit and miss. I mean one year, they gave Bob Dylan the nobel prize for literature. Dylan is a SINGER AND MUSICIAN. Never wrote a book, wrote song lyrics, that's it. One year they even gave a European writer who allegedly had close relationships with some of the judges. And some science fiction fans are not happy someone like Ursula Le guin never even got considered. And so on.

Achebe is as good as Soyinka. Soyinka deserved his price, but Achebe deserved the 2000 prize...someone who has been published in several languages, and can tell an engaging story like Soyinka....yet he lost to a obscure chinese author.

Achebe was good enough for a Nobel, and the fact that he did not get it does not mean he is a bad writer.

Infact, go and read Amos Tutuola or even Ngugi, or Camara Laye, who was even known in both the Francophone and Anglophone world self!..and you will be angry they were never even considered. But it is what it is.
What do you mean Chinua Achebe deserved the year 2000 prize?

In year 2000, Chinua Achebe had not published anything since 1988 when he published his last novel "Anthills of the Savanna".

You expect the Nobel committee to overlook active writers and give it to someone whose last book was published 12 years ago.

When Soyinka won the Prize in 1986, Chinua Achebe had not published anything new in 20 years. His last novel at the time was "A Man of the People" published in 1966.

While Achebe was inactive, Soyinka was publishing every year.

Gao, who won the Prize in 2000, is not well-known in his native China, but being also French, he is well celebrated in Europe.

Many Nobel prize winners are usually not commercial successes like Chinua Achebe. It doesn't mean they are obscure. There are those who read them and they usually belong to a class of readers who value profound writings.

Chinua Achebe was a great storyteller, but he struggled as a writer.

Imagine a novelist of his fame could only boast of 5 novels in his entire lifetime. How could someone who was inactive most of his writing life be awarded a Nobel Prize in a world where there are writers churning masterclasses nearly every year?

Even Soyinka who is not primarily a novelist has as many novels as Achebe. In his genre (play), Soyinka wrote over 30 plays.

The fact is Achebe was not in the same class as many of his contemporaries. He was clearly inferior. The only thing he had going for him was the success of just one of his books, "Things Fall Apart". He lived in the shadow of that book until his death while other writers like Mahfouz, Gordimer, Coatzee, Gurnah were publishing powerful books and winning the Nobel Prize. His only strength was his role as editor of the African Writers Series through which he helped many writers, including Wole Soyinka and Nadine Gordimer, to get published. This role earned him the title of "Father of African Literature."

A very lame title, considering that he only wrote novels. He wrote poems too, but no one regards his poems.

Father of African literature with only 5 novels. For context, Chukwuemeka Ike published close to 15 novels. And they were widely praised. Shouldn't he too have won the Nobel Prize?

What about Ben Okri who is way more profound and prolific than Chinua Achebe?

If any Nigerian writer should have won it after Soyinka, it wouldn't have been Achebe, as he never deserved it.

Ben Okri, Femi Osofisan, Niyi Osundare, JP Clark are some writers who would have won it ahead of Achebe.

“The more you pull people out of poverty, the more you solve insecurity. We need to invest in education,” Obi stressed. “Our children are not in school. I’ve sat with Almajiri children—they are some of the most brilliant minds God created. If they can’t go to school, take the school to them.” H.E Peter Obi

Man like Obi
How many people has he pulled out of poverty in his personal capacity?

How many did he pull out when he was governor?

Did poverty not almost double under him when he was governor of Anambra State?

I don't know what is wrong with you Nigerians. Why do you fall so quickly for the antics of these politicians?

Why?

From "I had no shoes" to "Mr Incorruptible" and now, "Mr Saint Obi."

The same politicians. Different messianic names.

Who has noticed that while Goodluck Jonathan made efforts to get Almajiris off the streets by building them decent schools, Tinubu hasn't even mentioned lifting these folks off the streets?

No wonder he clearly stated that he has no plans for northern Nigeria. He just needs their votes and to enjoy his turn (Emilokan)

You don't know how the almajiri system works.

Being on the street is part of the almajiri education system.

GEJ didn't build schools for them to take them off the street.
PropertiesRe: How Would You Feel Sleeping In This Kind Of House? by aremubabs: 7:02pm On May 17, 2025
I once worked at a boarding school which was built at the base of a rock formation such as this.

But the school owners had first got a geologic report that the site was safe before building the school there.

Moreover, there had never been a rockfall there, so that was proof that it was safe.

At first, I worried myself to death about the rocks falling.

But you can't beat nature. I soon began to sleep and to even sleep well at night. The cool air was a blessing.

Snakes were not an issue. You would even often see them basking on the rocks during the daytime. But the big ones never came near the school. Only the babies always come. But after many killings, we stopped seeing the babies too.

I ended up spending 6 years in that school. Many times, I would even stay behind during holidays (especially short holidays like Muslim holidays or mid-terms) and I would be the only one in the school. During those periods, I would oversleep because it was always cool even at midday.
