Sports / Re: Napoli Players Blame Osimhen For Champions League Exit by aremubabs: 12:40pm On Mar 16 |
blowjohn: You blacks are more racist than whites. So, the same Osimhen who is Napoli's most expensive signing ever is being programmed to fail by the Italians? If they didn't want a black man to outshine them, why then did they buy Osimhen from Lille with such huge amount which still remains Napoli's most expensive signing in history? Was George Weah not in AC Milan (Italy) when he won the Balon d'Or? Maybe it was the Italians that made Osimhen miss many glaring chances at the AFCON 2023. The black man should work harder and stop blaming the whites for every failure. Ruud Gullit remains AC Milan's most successful player, and he is black. So? What else do you have to say? 4 Likes |

Nigerians can be emotional sha. You all forget how Napoli and fans have overpampered Osimhen. Suddenly, you accusing the same club and fans of being racist. Instead of being emotional, why not look at the stats. Osimhen could not even win 2 duels out of 10. At least if you don't score, make attempts to show some efforts. If this was how Messi played for Barca in his early days, you think he would be the football god he is today? I don't understand why we like to encourage inconsistency in our players. Messi and Ronaldo who played consistent good football for years have two heads abi? Are they not human beings? Osimhen should better make improvements for his own sake. If he wants to write his name in gold, he should start realizing that African Best Player award is not the limit for him. He should charge himself to win everything there is to win in football, even if he ends up not winning them. He should at least try. 6 Likes 2 Shares |
Family / Re: Marriage Is Now Useless, No Discipline by aremubabs: 12:02pm On Mar 16 |
lordnkem000: First of all, let me state that I am married, and HAPPILY married. People in miserable marriages usually marry for the wrong reasons. You marry for money's sake. We have women who go into marriage believing that money is everything. They get into marriage. The money is there, but they soon realize that other things are needed. They realize they need their husband at home almost 24/7. But the husband is at home only 3 hours because he has to work harder now. And even when he is at home, he doesn't have time to gist with wifey. Wifey starts needing companionship. She never thought that marriage (even with money) can be boring and/or lonely. You ignore all red flags You have a bossy girlfriend or boyfriend, you ignore the bossiness. You now get married, and they start controlling your life, and within 3-4 weeks of marriage, you are already asking for some freedom to make your own decisions or at least have a say in the house. You start behaving like you are just noticing the red flags. You have a rude boyfriend or girlfriend. They are nasty towards their own parents. They pick fights with their siblings at every opportunity, and they are quick to talk down on shop attendants, clerks, drivers, gatemen, etc. You still go on and marry them, and when they start dragging your parents or siblings like a dilapidated Tiger generator, or they start disgracing you outside with constant public fightings and quarrels, you will start running from pillar to post, looking for advice. Did you not see the red flags? Getting wooed by ephemeral things Physical attractiveness cannot be overlooked, but there should be other things drawing you to someone that you hope to settle down with. When I met my wife, it was at a school I was applying to. She was my boss because it was she that recommended me for employment after my micro-teaching. I didn't even look at her very much before I fell in love with her. Because she always wore free flowing clothes, I didn't see her curves until much later when I had fallen completely for her. We started as colleagues and then friends and then close friends. What drew me to her was her empathy, something which is still evident till this day. Another thing is her motherliness. She was motherly to me, without being controlling. In fact, I would put her empathy and motherliness together because it is her empathy that makes her motherly. And the best of all that made me decide that she must be mine and mine alone is the fact that we have almost everything in common from religious views to even likes and dislikes. And she is someone you can trust to get the home running smoothly even if you are away for several days or weeks. She has a way with children, having worked as teacher and administrator in several schools. She had even headed a nursery school before. Her experience helped us as a family when we started having children. I would like to say that it is important to know what you want in a woman or man. Many people are confused and would jump at any man or woman that seems ready. Being ready for marriage is not that easy to say. You may have the money to raise 100 children as a man, and yet be immature to keep a home. My wife and I have the same principles on spending and every month, we sit together to draw our monthly budgets. Our contribution to our household budget is 60-40, but this is not strictly followed. Sometimes, she contributes more than I do, and sometimes, it is 50-50. We have had this going on even before we married, which is why courtship is very important for a lasting marriage. This is not to say that my own strategy would work for everyone else. Every marriage is unique, but I believe that if people take their time more and look beyond ephemeral things, they would enjoy their marriages. 3 Likes |
Family / Re: Lady Dedicates Her NYSC Certificate To Husband As She Completes Service (video) by aremubabs: 9:08am On Mar 16 |
A worthless certificate. There are so many things wrong with this country. Why are we still funding ineffective programs like NYSC and many other schemes? Tendering NYSC certificates when you should be tendering your university or polytechnic certificates is an evidence of how confused we have become with so many similar programs that we are funding. If you want to help graduates, do so with access to grants. 33,000 naira per year multiplied by 12 (yes, 12), and hand it out to graduates as soon as they have fulfilled every requirement for graduation. No need to use them as cheap labour. Or better still, create a conducive environment for corporate businesses to thrive and give high-flying graduates automatic employment like they used to do in the days of old when Nigeria was the pride of Africa. The NYSC has failed. Yes, there are people who say they enjoyed their service year, but you don't use scattered good experience to adjudge a scheme as being efficient or effective. The scheme was established to reintegrate the country after the civil war. It was aimed at promoting unity in diversity, but just like every other effort of Gowon to promote unity, the scheme failed. Tribalism is still as high as ever and is even worse. The scheme is also very corrupt with people using bribe to influence posting. There are people serving within the very state or geopolitical zone in which they schooled or originated from. Graduates need better employment after their first degree. |

We will still end up behind Algeria and South Africa. Just one gold difference, and they have far more medals in total than us. They have managed to almost catch up with us, and they would, eventually, because the way they quickly closed the gold medal gap can only indicate that they will eventually overtake us. |
Family / Re: See Hilarious Comments On Social Media As Price Noodles Drops From 18500 To14k by aremubabs: 12:56pm On Mar 09 |
We4all: As simple as that. If demand decreases, price decreases. I told my wife last week not to worry. She came to me shouting that noodles price has increased and they are planning to increase a sachet of pure water to #100. I told her that it is the producers and sellers that will suffer it. Once value drops on these goods, the prices will come down automatically. The people I pity the most are the pure water manufacturers thinking of increasing price. Water that can be got anyhow. People will drink any water to survive, and the demand for pure water will reduce drastically. By the time the consumers are done with them, a sachet of pure water will sell for as low as #5. 5 Likes |

dankorode: You people have started the hyping again. The same hype that caused Joshua not to grow and develop into a truly dangerous boxer that he had all the potential to become. You all kept hyping him until he met a truly excellent, technical fighter who took him to school. This was how they hyped Ngannou too even when it was obvious that Fury did not take that fight seriously. Everyone began to think that Ngannou was the new Mike Tyson, and began to think he could beat any of the top guys. Now, Joshua destroyed the hypejob in just 2 rounds, scoring two knockdowns. Because Joshua has beaten four guys now, who are not even in top 20, you all think he is the greatest of all time. Take it easy. You all should let Joshua grow properly. He is getting his mojo back. Let him rematch Parker or fight Zhang professionally. He might even try fighting Dubious. He needs some level of self-confidence and skill to beat Usyk. 1 Like |

I knew Joshua would win very easily. What however shocked me were the knockdowns and the knockout. Just when I thought Ngannou had an iron chin. Ngannou was overhyped simply because he scored a knockdown against Fury. Now, he has been schooled by a no-nonsense Joshua. Everyone who hyped him can now rest. Ngannou himself should leave boxing. There is really no one he can beat. Fury will beat him in a rematch. Wilder will kill him. Zhang will batter him. Joshua will obliterate him in a rematch. Usyk will send him into a coma. 4 Likes |
Sports / Re: Anthony Joshua V Francis Ngannou: Fight Today by aremubabs: 7:39pm On Mar 08 |
Easy win for Joshua. Joshua is far more skilled (boxing wise) than Ngannou. Fury underestimated Ngannou, which was why he struggled. But Joshua will not underestimate Ngannou. But I don't see a knockout in this game. Ngannou's chin is too tough, so I see Joshua winning by a unanimous decision. 1 Like |

skultrick: Many of you actually think life is very easy until things like this happen to you. Yes, there is no spouse that is not replaceable, but in the beginning of a breakup, life does not always seem as simple as the advice many of you give: MOVE ON. My only problem with Israel is that he is trying to heal the wrong way. Moreover, when things like this happen, don't always be in a rush to make the situation irreparable. Leave room for reconciliation. From his outburst, it is clear that he doesn't really have anything against his former wife. But by attacking her mother, especially openly, and exposing too much domestic life to the unfeeling public, he is closing all doors to future reconciliation. 2 Likes |

When it comes to physical abuse, women are more wicked. The law should stop providing excessive protection to women. They should stop with that nonsense about violence against women and children. Women are more likely than men to abuse children, and when they do it, they do it with unimaginable violence. 1 Like |

If not that his ban remains until August, Samson Siasia is the best Nigerian coach for the job. We play beautiful football under Siasia, and I remember a football pundit made that comparison when Rohr was coach and our football had no coordination. Emmanuel Amuneke's Tanzania played that type of headless football too, reminiscent of Rohr. Amuneke would be a disaster waiting to happen if he is made coach. I am also surprised that many people are mentioning Finidi George. The same Finidi George under whom Enyimba is playing very uninspiring football? Finidi George was a fantastic player, and at a time, the best 7 in the world. But being a football legend doesn't mean you will make a good coach. The same with Amuneke. Some people are even mentioning Kanu Nwankwo and Jay Jay. Some Nigerians need to understand that being a good footballer does not mean you will make a good coach. What coaching experience do Okocha and Kanu have that you want to put them in charge of Africa's most decorated team? |

jaxxy: Technically, they were not Nigerians. In fact, as long as the war lasted, the Biafrans considered us enemies, and we did the same. They had their own currency, their own flag, their own military and central bank and tried to establish and protect their supposed boundaries. I don't know how Nigerians talk carelessly or stupidly about the war. All Yakubu said was that many thought that prosecuting the war was not feasible. Whether you like it or not, that war would always be a reference point for many things that concern this country. |

Jackipapa: This is Africa, not Europe or North America. Neighbours can sometimes come in handy. I remembered an incident of someone coming home late at night from a journey and the vigilantes took him to his house but no neighbour could identify him as a tenant in the compound. The landlord lived abroad, and the caretaker did not pick her calls. So, the vigilantes paraded the man naked through the town and through the night, making him sell eko with serious beating before taking him to the bale. 2 Likes |
