These people won't reason with you.

Anyone that thinks it's okay for Israel and others to have nuclear weapons but Iranians shouldn't is really sick.

These eediots can't even see the clear silliness of such nonsense talk.
Many people taking sides don't even know what the issue is all about.

Why should some countries be policing those who should have nuclear weapons and those who shouldn't?

It remains known that no one can be trusted with a nuclear weapon, not America, not Israel, not Russia, yet these countries have a stockpile of them.

The only time nuclear weapons was used in warfare was in 1945 when the Americans dropped atomic bombs on Japan.

Now, the same America thinks they can be trusted to own nukes but Iran can't.

I hate the hypocrisy. There are Nigerians supporting Israel and America because they hate Islam. What they don't understand is that this conflict can quickly escalate into the Third World War.

Already, Turkey has begun talks on expanding their nuclear programme. Russia and China are watching and seeing how the United States is breaking protocol by bombing a sovereign state. They are taking note.

Even if they don't join the war directly, trust them to join through proxies.

The Nigerian thinks he is safe in his own country. He doesn't know the economic impact it would have on him if the economy of Europe shuts down.

The fight between Russia and Ukraine caused the price of wheat to skyrocket in Nigeria. Just wonder what would happen to many of our imports if a World War was to begin today.

Are you people aware the number of American soldiers who have died in the Middle East.

Trump himself said it that America should never have involved itself with the Middle East. He said it to throw shades at Obama.

But Trump becomes president again, and he is doing exactly the same thing he criticized Obama for.

In fact, he is doing worse, striking Iran unprovoked.

Are you people aware that there was a negotiation going on before Israel struck Iran unprovoked.

Are you still aware that negotiation hasn't closed yet before Trump struck Iran?

Trump did a Great Job!
IRAN'S Formost Strength ( Nuclear) is Obliterated

What comes next will be the EXODUS of people from iran. Watch out!!

You are just being unfair.

Iran was on the negotiation table when Israel struck unprovoked.

Iran asking Israel to stop their own nuclear programme is fair and reasonable. Why should Israel be allowed to have a nuclear programme, but Iran can't?

Now, the warmonger, Trump, goes and bombs Iran.

Many Americans are angry because Iran sees this as war now, and it might awaken sleeper cells, even in the United States.

The only issue is that it is not Trump and his fellow warmongers that will suffer it.

The thing is that single moms always have a way of trying to justify what happened to them refusing to acknowledge that they made wrong choices of men, willingly opened their legs and have baby for the man.
It is not about wrong choices of men all the time.

Why do we blame men for the occurrence of every single mom?

Let me tell you a story.

When I was in the university, our social director was dating one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. The girl seemed well-behaved for someone so beautiful. She was respectful and all that.

One day, our social director caught another guy on top of her in her room off campus. Although, at the time, she was pregnant and our social director knew and even showed commitment towards marrying her.

But when he caught her with the other guy, he didn't trust that the baby in her womb was his anymore. That was how they broke up.

I don't know anymore about her story. Let us say the other guy also rejected the pregnancy, she would become a single mother. Can we blame our social director for breaking up with her?

She probably would go around trying to blame the social director for her plight without telling anyone that she was the cause of the breakup.

Women are very good at the pity game. So, don't believe that every single mom made a wrong choice of men. Some of the single moms are badly behaved and loose. Some of them are to blame.

While I will not stop any man from dating them, I will advise that you date them with sense.

Imagine a single mom telling me she had 2 kids and when I told her it was too much responsibility for me, she said I was not man enough.

Women generally are manipulative. So, men should be like our fathers. Thread carefully.
Properties › Re: Can I Get A Refund Back? How Do I Approach My Landlord? by aremubabs: 5:57pm On Jun 20, 2025
Host78:
So, I'm in a jam right now.

I'm a student and also work online. So I decided to rent a new place last week. The major reason is that I need constant power supply.

In this area they use band A light.

But the problem is that other student occupants don't always pay for meter subscription.

Hence there is constant light but most times this particular house don't always have light.

Before paying for rent I actually asked one of the tenants, the person currently occupying the room I paid for and he actually assured me that the compound has no light issues.

So, when they gave them light a few days ago I decided to go and check the house myself and discovered they don't have light while other compounds have light.

I then decided to speak with another tenant and he started narrating the issue to me. In fact, for the last 3 days they've not seen light in the compound even though the street have had constant light.

That some tenants are even using ac, electric cooker and so on.

So when they recharge it doesn't stay long and worst some don't even pay. I was there until night when I saw one of the tenants, a lady going round to raise money they can use for subscription that night.

She didn't get a kobo from the over 20 tenants there. The compound is that big.

So, even if I say I want to sub for the prepaid meter, with 20 people I don't think N20,000 will even last for the month.

I made the payment but I'm yet to move to the house because the other occupants are still in the house.

Please I'm thinking of going to collect my rent back because I can't cope with this. How do I approach this issue please.
You may not get a refund easily, especially for the agent fees.

But instead of fighting for a refund, speak with the landlord.

The metre is registered in his name and he needs to do something about how it is used. It is not just about filling rooms with tenants. A landlord must also be concerned about certain use of properties attached to his name and identity.

Tell the landlord about the issue. He should call a meeting and find a lasting solution to the problem.

During my master's degree programme, I rented a self-con apartment close to school gate. There were about 14 rooms, all full.

There seemed to be no light issue for almost a month until one morning, I woke up and saw light everywhere outside, but not in my own room. I went outside and discovered that it was the same for every other tenant. Only our building was affected.

Soon, they sent a student to collect contribution of money to bribe NEPA. I began to wonder. Bribe NEPA for what? There was a prepaid metre, so why was the need to bribe?

To cut the long story short, it turned out that the house had bypassed metre and NEPA caught them and slammed 2 million naira charge on them. Instead of finding a way to reach a common ground with the NEPA officials, the students reconnected to direct, and began tapping light from another compound.

Hearing this, I went straight to the landlord to complain.

He didn't respond for a long while. During the time of his silence, the boys continued to find a way to beat NEPA.

They had contributed money for wire (they didn't dare come to me for contribution). So, late at night when they were sure NEPA officials would not catch them, they will connect to someone else's wire, then before 5am, they would quickly disconnect.

So, we didn't always have light throughout the day for fear of NEPA. We only had light late at night into early morning.

And the painful thing was that the light in that area was very good. Almost 20 hours per day.

Eventually, the landlord sent some people to issue quit notice to everyone. I was issued too, but the landlord called to tell me not to worry. That I could stay.

So, speak with the landlord.

Lazy country.
Instead of them to target Israel military facilities, they are fighting sick people in the hospital.
Jihadist are all brainless and clueless.
Who says they must target Israel military facilities?

Why did Israel attack in the first place?

Is the attack legitimate? Israel claims they attacked because they believe if Iran had nuclear weapons, it would attack it in the future.

International laws allows preemptive attacks.

But preemptive attack one described as IMMINENT, not one that would happen in the future.

Israel's attack on Iran is just a bullying tactic, not a preemptive attack. And the fact that the US overtly supports Israel and Trump (the Zionist) wants to join the war reeks of nothing but bullying.

Perhaps Iran has sponsored non-state attacks on Israel in the past, Israel cannot use those as preemptive defense for their unprovoked attack on Iran.

US used the atomic bomb to indiscriminately wipe out the Japanese, but look at them pretending to be the only ones capable of using nuclear weapons responsibly.
Politics › Re: Calling Prof Wole Soyinka A Tribal Bigot Is Callous by aremubabs: 3:12pm On Jun 16, 2025
nairalanda1:
Well, the six African authors below won the Nobel Prize

Wole Soyinka (Nigeria), Naguib Mahfouz (Egypt), Nadine Gordimer (South Africa), J.M. Coetzee (South Africa), Doris Lessing (Zimbabwe), and Abdulrazak Gurnah (Tanzania).

Yeah, and off the top of my head, the following deserving great authors from Africa never won it

Chinua Achebe
Peter Abrahams
Ngugi wa thiong o. (who definetly should have long been nominated, now he is dead)
Amos Tutuola (never even considered)
Ferdinard Eyomo
Camara Laye. (A whole Camara Laye).

Nobel prizes are hit and miss. I mean one year, they gave Bob Dylan the nobel prize for literature. Dylan is a SINGER AND MUSICIAN. Never wrote a book, wrote song lyrics, that's it. One year they even gave a European writer who allegedly had close relationships with some of the judges. And some science fiction fans are not happy someone like Ursula Le guin never even got considered. And so on.

Achebe is as good as Soyinka. Soyinka deserved his price, but Achebe deserved the 2000 prize...someone who has been published in several languages, and can tell an engaging story like Soyinka....yet he lost to a obscure chinese author.

Achebe was good enough for a Nobel, and the fact that he did not get it does not mean he is a bad writer.

Infact, go and read Amos Tutuola or even Ngugi, or Camara Laye, who was even known in both the Francophone and Anglophone world self!..and you will be angry they were never even considered. But it is what it is.
What do you mean Chinua Achebe deserved the year 2000 prize?

In year 2000, Chinua Achebe had not published anything since 1988 when he published his last novel "Anthills of the Savanna".

You expect the Nobel committee to overlook active writers and give it to someone whose last book was published 12 years ago.

When Soyinka won the Prize in 1986, Chinua Achebe had not published anything new in 20 years. His last novel at the time was "A Man of the People" published in 1966.

While Achebe was inactive, Soyinka was publishing every year.

Gao, who won the Prize in 2000, is not well-known in his native China, but being also French, he is well celebrated in Europe.

Many Nobel prize winners are usually not commercial successes like Chinua Achebe. It doesn't mean they are obscure. There are those who read them and they usually belong to a class of readers who value profound writings.

Chinua Achebe was a great storyteller, but he struggled as a writer.

Imagine a novelist of his fame could only boast of 5 novels in his entire lifetime. How could someone who was inactive most of his writing life be awarded a Nobel Prize in a world where there are writers churning masterclasses nearly every year?

Even Soyinka who is not primarily a novelist has as many novels as Achebe. In his genre (play), Soyinka wrote over 30 plays.

The fact is Achebe was not in the same class as many of his contemporaries. He was clearly inferior. The only thing he had going for him was the success of just one of his books, "Things Fall Apart". He lived in the shadow of that book until his death while other writers like Mahfouz, Gordimer, Coatzee, Gurnah were publishing powerful books and winning the Nobel Prize. His only strength was his role as editor of the African Writers Series through which he helped many writers, including Wole Soyinka and Nadine Gordimer, to get published. This role earned him the title of "Father of African Literature."

A very lame title, considering that he only wrote novels. He wrote poems too, but no one regards his poems.

Father of African literature with only 5 novels. For context, Chukwuemeka Ike published close to 15 novels. And they were widely praised. Shouldn't he too have won the Nobel Prize?

What about Ben Okri who is way more profound and prolific than Chinua Achebe?

If any Nigerian writer should have won it after Soyinka, it wouldn't have been Achebe, as he never deserved it.

Ben Okri, Femi Osofisan, Niyi Osundare, JP Clark are some writers who would have won it ahead of Achebe.

Israel cannot single-handely hold Iran in warfare without the help of the United States.

The answer is the United States.

Israel has a technological edge (all thanks to the United States), but in a one-on-one, Israel will not be so confident.

I once worked at a boarding school which was built at the base of a rock formation such as this.

But the school owners had first got a geologic report that the site was safe before building the school there.

Moreover, there had never been a rockfall there, so that was proof that it was safe.

At first, I worried myself to death about the rocks falling.

But you can't beat nature. I soon began to sleep and to even sleep well at night. The cool air was a blessing.

Snakes were not an issue. You would even often see them basking on the rocks during the daytime. But the big ones never came near the school. Only the babies always come. But after many killings, we stopped seeing the babies too.

I ended up spending 6 years in that school. Many times, I would even stay behind during holidays (especially short holidays like Muslim holidays or mid-terms) and I would be the only one in the school. During those periods, I would oversleep because it was always cool even at midday.

We have never won an U-20 World Cup. Ghana is the only African country to have won an U-20 World Cup.

You also accused APC of destroying sports in Nigeria. Let me educate you even more.

It was under Buhari that our female basketball team won the Afro Basketball Competition three consecutive times, making history.

They won the fourth one under Tinubu. This means that before APC, the Tigress had only won the Championship two times. But under APC, they have won it a record 4 consecutive times.

It was also under Tinubu (and APC) that the Tigress won their first Olympics game in 20 years and advanced to the Quarter Finals of the Olympics for the first time ever. They also became the first African basketball team (both male and female) to qualify for the Quarter Finals at the Olympics.

It was also under APC, that our male basketball team won their first ever FIBA African Championship.

Education › Re: Natasha-Akpabio, Fubara-Wike In Usman Danfodio University's Exam Question by aremubabs: 6:43pm On May 15, 2025
Almunjid:
It appears you didn't fully grasp my previous comment. Allow me to clarify it more simply. When designing standard exam questions, it's crucial to encompass all cognitive abilities: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation, progressing from the most basic (knowledge) to the most advanced (evaluation or drawing conclusions).

The aforementioned questions were specifically crafted to assess students' cognitive abilities across the spectrum, from the lowest (knowledge) to the highest (evaluation or judgment). Question 1a assesses students' knowledge, 1b evaluates their synthesis skills, question 2 measures comprehension or understanding, question 3 tests application (students' ability to apply Captain Ibrahim Traore's leadership style and achievements to Nigerian regional leaders), and question 4 was specifically designed to gauge students' analytical skills without requiring them to draw conclusions or pass judgment. Lastly, question 5 designed to test students' capacity to evaluate or draw conclusions, and propose solutions. As seen above, a particular question (question 4) was meant to test students' ability to analyze information without drawing conclusions because there's already a question that tests students' ability to evaluate and draw conclusions (question 5). Naturally, students might gravitate towards simpler questions focused on knowledge, comprehension, and application, potentially avoiding the more complex analysis and evaluation questions.

Your question, "How can you analyze without drawing conclusions?" is akin to asking: How can you possess knowledge without comprehension or understanding? How can you apply knowledge without being able to synthesize the information? How can you evaluate or draw conclusions without the capacity to analyze information? While these enquiries hold value, exam questions must be designed to addressed them individually, as seen in the exam questions.

In education, combining two advanced cognitive tasks—such as analysis and evaluation—within a single question is incorrect; therefore, the alternative question you posed wasn't ideal. Instead, you could consider separating these tasks into distinct parts, like in question 1, using subsections (a) and (b). However, this strategy can only combine simple and complex tasks (i.e., testing students' knowledge and synthesis skills) but cannot be applied to two complex tasks simultaneously (i.e., testing analysis and evaluation or drawing conclusions). This implies that you can only ask students to either analyze or draw conclusions, but not both at the same time.

As previously mentioned, this exam questions were developed by experts who upheld high standards. Your criticism of question 4 appears to be influenced by your political affiliations and does not impact the overall quality or standard of the exam questions. You're not alone in this, as many educationists face challenges in developing high-quality exam questions and might critique these questions, as you did, due to their insufficient knowledge. Nevertheless, if you carefully read and understanding my explanation, you'll acquire valuable insights for the future.

Peace!
If the questions were specifically crafted to assess students' cognitive abilities across the spectrum, from the lowest (knowledge) to the highest (evaluation or judgment).

Why then did the lecturer not ask the students to answer all the questions?

Lol. I am an educationist, so I can assure you that your assessment is incorrect-though, of course, we all learn every day. The lecturer’s question may have seemed wrong to you because you are not an educationist. In fact, the lecturer’s question was even better than yours, although you may dislike it because it was a leading question. However, that is entirely valid in this context.

Before deciding who is right or wrong between you and the lecturer, it’s important to understand the aim of the question. When setting standard exam questions, one must cover all the cognitive abilities: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation- progressing from the lowest cognitive ability (knowledge) to the highest (evaluation or judgment).

The question you complained about was designed to test students’ ability to analyze situations without drawing conclusions. That’s why it began with the word “analyze.” Whether or not the question is a leading one is irrelevant; what matters is the student’s ability to analyze a situation.

It is not appropriate to ask students to perform two complex cognitive tasks in a single question, as you did (asking them to analyze and then evaluate or draw a conclusion). Instead, you could ask them to analyze a situation in one question and then cover evaluation or judgment in a separate question. Therefore, the alternative question you provided was incorrect.

Moreover, these questions were set by professionals and are very much up to standard. The only reason you objected is likely because the question touched on politics, and everyone tends to support their preferred candidate. However, that does not affect the quality or standard of the question.

Peace!
You don't know the meaning of analyze.

How can you analyze and not draw conclusions?

Why would you be analyzing in the first place.

Certificate courses are put under "Continuing Education/Certification" Section of your CV.

Certificate courses are short courses, and it is a dubious thing to include them in your "Education" section.

For example, each member of should be made to choose and learn a skill for one year.Resourse person's should be made available to train them in their chosen skill.

During this period, apart from the monthly stipends being paid to the corper every month.

A lump sum should be given to each corper to set him or her up at the end of the training and tools to start.

With this the scheme will be meaningful to graduates.
Why not incorporate that into the university curriculum?

Many primary and secondary school now have certain skills incorporated into their curriculum?

In the school where I teach, students are encouraged to own farms in the school compound. Last term, one student harvested a yam tuber that was so big, some of we (the teachers) had to help him carry it to the store room.

We also have a home maker club where boys and girls are taught how to cook and bake varieties of things. And then the science club. During a science fair, a student of ours built a robot from scratch and even represented Nigeria in a science fair in Dakar.

If I become president tomorrow, the NYSC will go. It has no usefulness. I would rather invest money into overhauling moribund curricula that have no progressive outlook.

Nigeria needs to start looking ahead like every modern country.

The NYSC will not help us get there. It would only continue to allow government steal money and access cheap labour.

Always dropping points to smaller teams when they should be consolidating their position with consistence.

That is the difference between them and Liverpool.

The process of becoming a pope is highly occultic.

These men are senior grand masters.
You have come with your nonsense again.

There is nothing occultic about it.

It is a secret ballot.

The Cardinals eligible to vote simply write the name of the person they went as pope and then drop it at the altar.

At the end of voting, the votes are counted. If there is no 2/3 majority, the ballot papers are burnt with a chemical to produce black smoke.

Then, they would have another round of voting. If they eventually get a 2/3 majority, the ballot papers are burnt with a chemical to produce white smoke.

The white smoke signifies that a pope has been elected.

The elected person accepts his role as pope, he is dressed up and he is taken to the balcony.

Simple!

Those over 80 are not allowed.
That is not true.

Any cardinal above 80 cannot vote.

It doesn't mean they can't be voted for. Even an 100 year old Catholic male can become a pope.

Although, the chances of the College of Cardinals voting for a 92-year-old man is very, very slim.

He was the first jesuit priest in the history of the church.
That's why he can't wear red shoes.

Jesuit priests according to hierarchy are the real pope behind the doors. They are called black pope. Pope Frances broke the record. They are the real owners of Catholic church and only them can affect change. The reason he introduced lgbt and no Bishop said pim.

Forget their common look, they are very dangerous.
You are saying a lot of rubbish, bro.

I was a secular Franciscan before I withdrew some years back because it was not my calling. Moreover, I had my own many personal issues which made it difficult for me to commit to the fraternities and the community at large.

Let me educate you.

There are many kinds of priests of the Catholic Church.

There are priests who take vows (typically, they always belong to a religious order like the Franciscan, Benedictine, Jesuit, Carmelites, and many others.) Their vows usually include that of celibacy and poverty.

Now, the Jesuits are usually teachers. They usually teach in the seminary or mission schools. They earn salaries, but they share their salaries among themselves like the Early Church did. A community of Jesuits is called The Society of Jesus.

Because the Jesuit has vowed to a life of poverty, he is not allowed to own properties or keep his salary for himself. It doesn't necessarily mean he is poor. He gets stipends from the Society of Jesus which takes care of his needs. The Jesuit is not extravagant, so even a few dollars can take care of his monthly needs.

While it is true that Pope Francis is the first Jesuit to be pope, there is no hidden secret to it. Anyone, who is a baptized Catholic male can become pope, whether he belongs to an order or not, or has taken a vow or made a promise. In fact, laypersons can become pope (story for another day.)

Diocesan priests don't make formal vow of celibacy, although they make what we call a "promise". Some of them are secular Franciscans like me, but even a diocesan priest can become a pope.

So, stop saying rubbish that Cardinal Arinze was somehow bullied out of the papacy because he is black. Or that the Jesuit snuck one of their own into the consensus of the Conclave.

As long as you get a 2/3 majority of votes of the College of Cardinals, you will become pope.

Although, one cannot deny that there are elements of politics in the election of a pope. But the conspiracy that the Jesuits are the major player in the politics of the Catholic Church is nonsense.

Nothing bad investing in ponzi as long as you do it at the early stage, cash out and flex.

Rules of ponzi.
1. Only invest what you can afford to lose.
2.invest early and cash out.
3.dont be greedy.
I know lots of people ponzi scheme made rich.
After cashing out, borrow leg and run fast like usain bolt from the platform.
Life itself is a risk, every investment has its own risk.

Even your keke business has it own risk.
Everything is bad about it morally.

It is like blood money.

People's sweat are used to pay the early investors. Although the early investor's money might also be used to pay others, but there is nothing good about Ponzi schemes.

If you make money there, just know that it is blood money.
