Two idle people, probably their first time. |
The story is not adding up. Which is why I support the arrest of the matron. If the suspect had indeed been raping minors and yet no one took note, it can either mean that the minors were already used to sex before the suspect began to abuse them or the matron knows about the suspect's unholy moves on the minors and the other female students. Rape is not that easy to hide when the victim is a minor, especially as young as 11. It is either the story has been exaggerated for the sake of sensationalism or the matron is a culprit and aids the suspect in his evil act. |
SocialJustice:Just because you can finish reading a piece of literature in a day does not mean it is easy to write. A 1 hour movie can take a year to write and produce. That it is 1 hour does not mean it was easier to write than a 3-hour movie. You think all those 4-minute musical video you watch are easy to make than those 1 hour Nollywood movie. You need a lot of learning to do. |
SocialJustice:You must be a clown to think that Achebe with his 5 watery novels can be compared to Soyinka who has over 30 solid plays and is regarded the most poetic playwright in the world. |
franchasofficia:Wole Soyinka is not living in his past glory. The Obidients reminded him of the days of despotism, and he had to speak out. In 1948, George Orwell wrote a book warning the future generation about what the world would become if it allowed communism gaining footing. Soyinka saw the evil of Nazism and spoke out against the political intolerance of a mob which must be forbidden from taking over power. Prof Wole Soyinka did exploit based on the time of his youth and trend of events at that time, but he has become completely irrelevant in today's events and now living in his past glory. He ought to have left the stage when the ovation was high for him.Wole Soyinka does not simply start talking. The press come to him now and then, and the man makes his thoughts known. He is after all, a Nigerian, and has every right to speak his mind. Soyinka has never been known to keep quiet in matters that concern human rights. We all saw how terribly the Obidients comported themselves, bullying everyone who had contrary opinions, cancelling people who dared to have preferred candidates other than Peter Obi. They brought, to our political clime, a politics of intolerance and invectives. I write too just like Prof Wole Soyinka and in fact, my writings have been published in international platforms and gained wide audience, I also have books on sale and will soon become a PhD holder like Prof Wole Soyinka and if God keeps me alive, I will also become a Professor like Soyinka, so I see no reason why his criticism should even be taken serious if not for bigotry. What does Soyinka a 90yr old man know about today's events and current desire of the youths? He failed in all his youthful attempts to correct Nigerian dictators, little did the world know that he was only fighting for power to go to his preferred corrupt civilians so that he can have unfettered access to government funds and contracts. It is a shame that a supposed writer (which you claim to be) would resort to jumping into baseless accusations. What proof do you have that Soyinka was fighting for his own pockets? If you look at Soyinka's background, you will realize that he was raised in a family of activists. JJ Ransome Kuti, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Eniola Soyinka (his mother), Beko and Fela (his cousins) were all activists. It is needless to say that he modeled the activists in his life, and did so without any financial rewards in mind. Soyinka won the Nobel Prize in 1986. The Prize comes with a huge monetary reward. If Soyinka was a materialistic person or a power hungry person, he wouldn't have used all his Nobel money to fight Abacha, raising activists around Europe. Soyinka returned from exile in 1999, and the first offer made to him was to become president. But he rejected it, saying he had come home to rest. If he was power hungry or wanted access to public funds, he would have been president. What makes Wole Soyinka's criticisms of Obi more ridiculous is the fact that he agrees that Peter Obi is a man of impeccable character but his only anger is that Peter Obi's supporters are incompetent as if Peter Obi's supporters will be governing Nigeria from Aso Rock with Obi should he become President. The same stupid opinion that useless Reno Omockery have about Obi. None of them is saying Peter Obi is bad or corrupt or anything, their only problem is Peter Obi's youth support base that is not agreeing with their old way of cash and carry politics of highest bidder.Your bigotry keeps revealing itself with every paragraph. Jumping into the conclusion that Soyinka and the others are against Obi because he has an army of unruly youth makes me wonder whether you are indeed a writer and an academic. No academic (who is used to research) will make unverified and unverifiable claims. More funny is the fact that Prof Wole Soyinka support Bola Tinubu whose supporters kill, burn and destroy properties and even fought opposition voters from voting, but they are excellent supporters to Wole Soyinka but Peter Obi's supporters who only respond to critics online are the dangerous supporters not Bola Tinubu or Buhari's supporters who kill people, burn houses, cars, etc, and you say all is well with Prof Wole Soyinka's mental state?Another wild claim by a supposed writer and PhD candidate. For the illiterate, anyone who speaks against Peter Obi is supporting Tinubu. Show me one evidence of Soyinka endorsing Tinubu or openly admitting to supporting Tinubu. If you are truly a PhD candidate, then you a big disgrace to academia, and an evidence of how low our education system has sunk. Sad!!! |
All the 3 goals were beautiful. |
jude79:Show me an article where Soyinka called Buhari a man of integrity. If you can't, then you better stop making false accusations. Because one day, you will make false claims against someone who will explore all means to get their pound of flesh from you. |
turmacs:They will bring bastards for your brother or son to father. You think this is a matter to joke with? |
Messina123:Don't change the topic. Soyinka had problems with the way the Obidients comported themselves. For a man who fought against the despotism displayed by people like Abacha, you can't expect him to be quiet when a mob was busy bullying other people because they refused to support Obi's ambition. How Tinubu has fared is not the topic of discussion. There is no evidence that Peter Obi would have performed better. One evidence would have been his performance when he was Governor of Anambra state. He couldn't increase IGR and did not make any groundbreaking achievements, and yet you think he has enough to outperform Tinubu. |
okoloto:What lies did Soyinka say? He said the Obidient is a Nazist mob. Nazism is a totalitarian political ideology. With the way the Obidients comported themselves towards the election, you can understand why Soyinka called them Nazists. A Nazist is someone who is totalitarian or supports totalitarianism. This means they don't allow freedom of expression. The Obidients never wanted anyone to speak ill of Obi. To them, everyone must support Obi. They don't want to respect other people's opinion or choice. |
aviara:But you all judged Buhari based on the actions of his supporters in 2011. The truth is that you are a leader if you can take responsibilities for the STUPIDITY or excesses of your foot soldiers. |
magoo10:How did he stoop low? He called out bullying which the unruly Obidient mob is known for. Anyone who calls out Obi is immediately tagged an evil person. You people forget that every other Nigerian has rights. Soyinka may be a professor and a Nobel laureate, but he is still a Nigerian and has every right to speak in public on any matter that he feels strongly about, and that includes politics. |
SisterAnn:I pity you. This is how you all start, but when you end up in handcuffs for STUPIDITY, you will start showing pity face. If I ask you for proof of the professor clutching brown envelopes now, you will have no proof. How you all sit down and manufacture lies against people is hard to understand. |
Jobless people. What has the national anthem got to do with it? People are suffering. But the bill to revert to the colonial era anthem sped through our typically slow legislation. Our legislation is never fast when a public-spirited bill is passed. I don't know whether this is a curse. |
SisterAnn:I am not sure you know the meaning of fluke. If you know the amount he rakes in every time his plays are performed, you will not be spewing rubbish. Recently, Biyi Bandele bought film rights of Death and the King's Horseman. His plays, Lion and the Jewel and Death and the King's Horseman are some of the most performed plays in the world. His play, "The Lion and the Jewel" is on the UTME syllabus. He gives lectures around the globe. He earns royalties even on books that he wrote in the 1960s. And you still think he is hungry. |
AcuraZDX:The question is: "Who is your brother?" How many patents does he have to his name? If he is in the humanities, what papers or books has he written. If he is in the social sciences, what groundbreaking research has he done? MIT my foot. |
Kokomaster69:Where is the video clip? Stop telling lies. |
Kokomaster69:Manufactured lies against the professor. Soyinka who gives lectures across universities, including Harvard and Oxford will not have something to fall back on? His plays are doing well in Europe. Imagine the amount he rakes in as royalties. Stop saying nonsense. |
derecho:You people really think highly of yourselves. There is never a year when Soyinka's birthday goes unnoticed in the literary circle. For the fact that you think it went unnoticed shows that you are not a reader. Already this year, a competition is being proposed to count down to the professor's 90th birthday in July, this year. The ANA, and other literary bodies across Africa and the world don't fail to recognize the professor. On his birthday, the Official Nobel Prize page always acknowledge him as one of the finest writers in the English Language. The joke is on you. |
AcuraZDX:Professor Gbajue, and yet he has taught in Oxford and Harvard, and is the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. He is respected the world over as a literary giant. The joke is on you. |
AcuraZDX:You people have no commonsense. The questions were directed at him by journalists. You expect him to be talking about Tinubu when the question was about Obi and his senseless foot soldiers? |
Arsenal should wake up from dreamland. They bottled their chances of winning when they lost 0-2 to Aston Villa. West Ham can't stop Manchester City. |
helinues:Perhaps, slightly too much, but still not unrealistic. Look at the cost of food. The minimum wage needs to meet up, otherwise crime rate and suicide rate will jump up. |
Deepspirituals:It is hard to call. Fury likes to fight dirty. And he has a height and reach advantage which he knows how to use very well. I prefer Usyk to win. And I hope he does. He knows how to adapt. But Fury is not just dirty when he wants to, he can also box and move. Which is why it is hard to predict a winner. |
Arsenal will drop points tomorrow. I honestly wanted them to win this season, but after that disappointing 0-2 loss to Aston Villa, I knew immediately that they had gifted City the league. I mean after Liverpool's loss to Crystal Palace, one would expect Arsenal to use the opportunity to extend their lead, but no, they disappointed in their usual Arsenal style. |
"One thing led to another..." I hate this statement, and cheats like to use it a lot. Which thing led to another? You went to show appreciation at his house. So, what thing led to another? Usually, when sex happens like this, it is never accidental or unplanned. Both parties wanted it. It is a different thing if she was raped or if he asked her for sex before helping her, and she was really in a terrible situation. But when a cheat says, "one thing led to another..." I only understand it as that they planned to have sex. Perhaps, she even shaved and wore new panties before going to meet him. You would be surprised that she went there prepared to have sex. |
These pastors know that there are no consequences, that is why they spew a lot of rubbish. With the sex scandals of Suleiman and Fatoyinbo, people still flock to their churches. Damini knows that even if he called Jesus evil, customers would still come to his |
MaziObinnaokija:They pay per night. I have listened to a similar experience. But this one was about a woman who lived in the market. They can charge you as much as 1000 naira per night. That is 30,000 naira for a sleeping space every month. |
Harry Kane close to continuing his trophyless runs. |
youngrichnigga:The video was not even clear enough to ID anyone. |
