A decent defibrillator costs 900,000 to 1.5 million Naira.

We should have these things in public places, with training done for many Nigerians, especially motor park operators.

Many of our hospitals (primary and secondary health Centres) don’t even have it. And that is why they literally reject heart related issues.

If we have these machines in public parks and with trained people, we can increase survival rates of such heart/slumping.

Imagine that I made a post a few days ago that I have personally lost 4 people to such. Then this happened. Terrible!!! What a loss.

I must not forget to mention, heavy alcohol usage and chronic stress can also cause slumping.

Overall, let us increase our adoption of science to prevent these needless deaths.

There is only so much a defibrillator can do.

More often than not, cardiac arrest cases are brought in dead. Emergency ward workers can often spot a hopeless case on the spot and immediately reject it.

Obasanjo cannot account for 16 billion dollars invested into the power sector. It was under PDP that our public service began to rot.

Because he and Atiku wanted to float their own universities, our public universities were neglected and allowed to rot. There is not one single Nigerian university in the top 10 in Africa. Not even one. What happened to our national carrier? Under whom did insurgency begin? Under whom did our middle class begin to shrink?

Obasanjo even once boasted that he created the billionaires we have today. He created only 4-6 billionaires while millions of other Nigerians became poorer.

As for HIV, scientists have made great strides since when the viral infection was documented in the 1980s.

But viral infections are hard to cure because they are technically not living things that you can directly attack and kill.

ART does not cure HIV because the HIV can rest or hide in the DNA of some cells for years. Because these viruses cannot replicate themselves, they lay dormant and even manage to hijack other cells and force them to replicate viral reservoirs.

Scientists are currently researching ways to clear up these dormant cells because if an infected person stops receiving ART, the dormant cells will awaken and HIV will resume replication.
