Boss13:
I have been to Uyo, no doubt the roads are beautifully constructed, but the people are hungry. I visited the silver bird mall and the movies are heavily subsidized by the government, yet people do not turn out enmass. The wealth in Akwa Ibom is not evenly distributed and only a few enjoy from it.

You can judge true development not by road but by the quality and standard of lives. Now, when next you visit Uyo, try to look at the houses suitated ajacent the beautiful roads
Sadly, this is what you get when governments fails to invest in the people to get them to the next level where they are able to even patronize the ego projects on the ground like hotels, mall and still unused football field.

Not a single skills center.

Nursing school was shut down by the FG for poor facilities while this man spent billions on a stadium that is now dormant and unused, not a single soccer game or event since commissioning.

The stadium generates zero employment and the people of Akwa Ibom haven't' made 1 kobo off that stadium. This is the true definition of White Elephant..

Not a single health center

No water works

Just Ego projects with zero benefits to the people of Akwa Ibom.

The poor people of Akwa Ibom paid to build the cinema and are still paying today because the thoughtless man is subsidizing movie tickets with their money just to show patronage.. It's called double jeopardy...

This mall is another white elephant since the local economy is not strong to support patronage and functionality and the general population doesn't have the buying power.

When private entities sees opportunity to make money based on available local buying power and disposable funds, they'll show up to invest in hotels and all the other stuff this man is spending the people's money on, but they are not showing up to invest simply because the money is not there, the local IGR comes from Oil comps and not from general business activities..

@post
while Ibo Governors are developing lands and building super malls in Abuja and Lagos, Akpabio get sense and put mall in his own land for his own people to generate and redistribute wealth locally for progress of his people.

Where are the Ibos to come and learn lessons from their wise brothers? This is how you develop your homeland.

I watched it on Silverbird TV news, and I felt bad as a Nigerian.Immediately the PM went inside leaving him outside, he tried to peep through the door. I Am sure Buhari was not happy the way PM left him outside and went inside.

Anyways...untill 12am 28th of May, 2015, he is not the President of the federal republic of Nigeria...and should not have expected a Presidential treatment by PM.

Wait a minute...what is he doing in London when his Inaugration is in 5days?
UK Prime Minister, Cameron asks Jonathan to account for $100 billion oil money

The UK Prime Minister, David Cameron has asked Nigeria to account for $100 billion oil money that has accrued to Nigeria in one year alone. Like Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, former minister of education who asked the Federal government to account for a total of $67 billion in direct savings by the Olusegun Obasanjo government from oil boom revenues

up to 2007, Mr Cameron said that "last year Nigerian oil exports were worth almost $100 billion, more than total net aid to the whole of sub-Saharan Africa. Put simply, unleashing the natural resources in these countries dwarfs anything aid can achieve – and transparency is critical to that."

Speaking at G8 Economic Summit in Davos, David Cameron said, "a few years back a transparency initiative exposed a huge black hole in Nigeria’s finances – an $800 million discrepancy between companies’ payments and government’s receipts for oil. This is leading to new regulation of Nigeria’s oil sector – so the richness of the earth can actually enrich the people of that country. And the potential is staggering.

"So we’re going to push for more transparency on who owns companies, on who’s buying up land and for what purpose, on how governments spend their money, on how gas, oil and mining companies operate, on who is hiding stolen assets and how we recover and return them."

After 8 years in office and largest budgets in Nigeria's history.

We have a few roads and less than 10 major projects

Imagine a state with the largest budget in Nigeria N500+ billion with just 5 million people have less than 10 projects? grin

Flyover

1 library

1 gutter canal

1 redundant and unused football field

1 and only hospital he finally commissioned after 8 years in office

1 Ego white elephant mall

No skills centers to empower his people

His schools are getting shit down because of poor infrastructure

No water works

No visionary projects, just waste and Ego projects..

This man just walked away with uncountable billions grin

sign the Ibaka seaport project and concession and Akwaibom would have taken Africa by storm.
Despite the yearly allocation of several billions of naira for the construction of a proposed greenfield deep seaport at Ibaka in Akwa Ibom State by both the State Government and the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) since 2011, the project has remained elusive, with no evidence of a port being built at the proposed site.

The project is missing in the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan and in the list of similar projects planned in partnership between the federal government and state government, with expectations of private investors collaborations, investigations by LEADERSHIP have revealed.

This is one part of the meeting between the President Elect of The Frederal Republic of Nigeria Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and the British Prime Minister David Cameron many Nigerians wouldnt want to see.
Before the meeting , Buhari was seen alone waiting for close to 30 minutes for before he had access to The Prime Minister who after the meeting ,walked the next Nigerian President to the door and promptly turned back and left. Leaving Buhari stranded

Akwa Ibom Psychiatric School of Nursing Shuts Down Over Lack Of Infrastructure

The Akwa Ibom State School of Psychiatric Nursing located in Eket Local Government Area has been shut down after the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) de-accredited all the courses of the school.

A source in the school told this reporter in a phone chat yesterday. He maintained that after the NMCN carried out investigation last year and warned the school management that it was going to deactivate all the courses of the school if nothing was done in twelve months to renovate and equip the school. But after a year the body which is responsible for the regulation of school of nursing, psychiatric school and other allied health institutions in country launched another investigation in March this year and discovered that instead of improving, the learning environment of the school was further deteriorating. This informed it decision of deactivating all the causes which led to the closing down of the school in April this year

Duru1:
It is a pity that Nigeria is a place where horses are compared with donkeys. The Lagos which Fashola inherited has been developed by the federal government of Nigeria. It is really act of foolishness to insinuate any form of comparison between Fashola and Akpabio. Akpabio had turned a relatively jungle into a respectable environment yet goons still have effrontery to talk about comparison. Any dumbass will look like a genius as the governor of Lagos State.
Keep quiet you can't read and comprehend simple english words Old Man.

Everything all the Lagos projects in this thread were started and completed by Fashola and not by any government before him including Tinubu.

Fashola's 8 Years And Gej/FG/All PDP State's 16 Years Record. Compare. PICS
