989900: Arrant bile.
Lagos does not tolerate mediocrity.
The precedence has been set from when we had the British as governors, and Lagos has had governors from all four corners of the country -- all pragmatic and forward thinkers.
The Lagos house and government is made up of folks from all parts of the country.
Even bus conductor in Lagos is more pragmatic And agile than his counterparts else where -- it is the Lagos spirit.
Do a simple search on on-going projects in Lagos, then comeback.
"Awa o r'aye oshi', no time for rubbish. Eko for show Eko o ni baje Center of excellence Ti oju o ba ti eyin igbeti, oju o ni ti ilu eko...(You have to be a konk Lagosian to know this phrase and it's meaning) These are not just slogans, they are call to duty and state of mind slogans.. No Governor in Lagos state is willing or will allow Lagos to dabaru on his or her watch, even Marwa who was not a Lagosian answered that call.. |

modath: Lagos may or may not make more but Lagos' population exceeds both countries put together! Togo is bout 7m and Benin is 10+, Lagos is +- 20m...go figure!!
Lagos' wage bill alone!!! No need to discuss the impact of overpopulation, it's clear for all to see.. Let me tell you something about wage bill. Lagos state with 20 million people has the 2nd largest workforce in Nigeria after the FG, they also have more agencies that has more pull and machineries and equipments than many FG agencies like, the most equipped and funded police force in Nigeria and their wage bill is N6 billion.Delta state with less than 5 million people and almost zero presence agencies has a wage bill of N7 billionImagine Delta state paying out more money in wages than Lagos state.. The story is the same all over Nigeria and nearly all of the workers in these crooked states are all ghost workers.. |

@ Topic, it's all about competence, vision, sense of duty and purpose which you can not buy with money hence richer states with less than 5 million people falling short.
Delta state with less than 5 million people busted all their IGR, allocations, derivations and all the extra funds like NDDC is the largest debtor state in Nigeria. They owe N700 billion with ZERO to show for it and they still owe salary all over the place.
It has nothing to do with money, it's all about the individuals you put in office to rule you.
Obiano has all the media in the world and he doesn't leave home without camera men, large delegation, microphone and loudspeaker, but it's all noise and cover because there's nothing to show for it..
Fayose is in the media everyday, he gyrates around town everyday with camera man and microphone and loudspeaker, but it's all empty noise.
Aregbeshola with all his money challenges still commissions more projects than all the states in Nigeria apart from Lagos state. |

Love Machine: Lagos state proposes the highest budget after fg,whereas,95% of those funds doesn't not go the the projects they are budgeted for. They end up in godfathers pocket. You are wrong based, Akwa ibom was the richest state with the largest budgets in Nigeria for so many years even more than Fashola's budgets and Akwa ibom has just 5 million people. Lagos state's budget for 2012 was N485 billion
Akwa ibom's budget for 2012 was N398 billion + N125 billion supplementary = N523 billion
In 2013, Lagos state's budget was N499.105 billionin 2013, Akwa ibom's budget was N459 BILLION + N70 Billion supplementary budget = N529 billion. Still, Lagos state with larger population, largest work force, most delivered and commissioned projects in the history of Nigeria and more than all the other 35 states combined including the FG commissioned more projects. Akpabio with all his money and just 5 million people delivered less just 1 football field, 1 cinema, 1 library, 1 uncompleted hospital, a few roads and flyover... Get some education and quit spewing your usual ignorance.. |

The United States is likely to sell its Super Tucano attack aircraft to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). In addition to this, the NAF will also be inducting Mi-35 helicopters and JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft and Super Mushsack trainers. “The US would soon authorize the sale of the Super Tucano Aircraft which would be used to replace the nation’s ailing Alpha jets,” the Director of Public Relations and Information of NAF, Capt. Ayodele Famuyiwa, was quoted as saying by Punch, a Nigerian news daily Wednesday. Famuyiwa quoted the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, as having said that the facilities of NAF were expanded as a result of the proposed fleet acquisition. “NAF, at present, is on the verge of inducting the Mi-35M helicopter gunship and JF-17 Thunder Fighter Ground Attack aircraft in addition to acquiring the Super Mushshack trainer aircraft. There are also strong indications that the US Government may give the nod sooner than expected with regards to the sale of Super Tucano to NAF to replace the aging Alpha Jets,” Abubakar said. |

The problem with our military has always being corruption, incompetence and unpatriotic spirit, but we are moving away from all that across the board.
We now have credible defense and warfare training, weapons procurement, good accommodation and welfare benefits which is boosting morale at all level. The new focus and determination is undeniable.
We are getting there... |

FemiMaduka: I love my country, but let's not be immersed in mediocrity. The Nigeria air force will be shot out of the sky in no time, if it dares to come into the way of some African countries. the Algerian, Egyptian, Ethiopian and South African airforces are decades ahead. It's a shame that Nigeria of the 21st century cannot even parade a 4th generation aircraft. All these pictures of tired C-130s, Super Pumas and alpha jets don't even buy in. In the U.S, private individuals own alpha jets... Too much willfully ignorant folks in Nigeria. We are where we are today because the corrupt and unpatriotic people we put in charge have been looting and stashing funds for weapons in private bank accounts, buying mansions and and so on.. We know what we need and how to get there, it's just a matter of time.. |

Counter Insurgency is a nightmare for conventional armies because of its complexities. The key to success often boils down to raw real time Intelligence and surveillance. The Nigerian Air force capacity in aviation technology and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) through the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna is unmatched in all of Africa. Nigeria has Africa’s only fleet of combat ready armed Drones, is the 3rd country after the United States, Britain and Israel with the capacity to use armed Drones in combat. The 75 Strike Group is a component of the Tactical Air Command.
75 Strike Group Component
Nigeria’s Drone fleet is scary. Nothing comes close in Africa.
GULMA TACTICAL UAV.(Remore Sensing)
AMEBO TACTICAL UAV(Terrain mapping)
CH-3 ARMED DRONE (anti tank missile and Chinese hell fire missiles)
CH-4 ARMED DRONE (4 units on order from China. longer range and better precision) |
