PoliticsRe: Jonathan Constructed More Roads Than Any Other Nigerian President – Fashola by aresssa: 3:35pm On Sep 15, 2016
[s]
Reasoningontop:
Babatunde Raji Fashola , Nigeria’s Minister for
Power, Works and Housing on Tuesday while
unveiling his plans praised the achievements of
former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Fashola during his first news conference tagged
“Setting the Agenda for Delivering Change” said that
Goodluck Jonathan has constructed more roads
than any president ever in Nigeria.
He also acknowledged that the Transformation in
the power sector is above 50 % and that he would
try to build on it.
Minister of State for Works, Adebayo Adeyeye, also
said that Jonathan’s administration has recorded
more success in the provision of motorable roads
than any other administration in the history of
Nigeria.
Adeyeye, who spoke as a guest on Channels
Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Monday,
insisted that the Jonathan administration has made
considerable progress in the road sector, more than
any of the governments that have administered the
country.
According to him, the administration in 2011 had
about 4,500 kilometres of fairly motorable roads,
just as he explained that today the administration
has about 25,000 kilometres of very good roads.
http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/jonathan-constructed-more-roads-than-any-other-nigerian-president-fashola/
[/s]

He made the comments on Tuesday, February 10, during the All Progressives Congress campaign rally in the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area.

Fashola says Jonathan has failed Nigerians, and as such, does not deserve a second term in office as president of Nigeria

According to the governor, the President was making things worse, by claiming to have constructed 25,000km roads within Nigeria, when “the distance from Lagos to London is just over 5,000km”.

He said, “President Goodluck Jonathan said he constructed 25,000 kilometres roads in the country. Now, the distance from Lagos to London is just over 5,000km. What the claim by the President means is that they have constructed a road from Lagos to London five times. But the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that is 404km and has not been done. So where did they see the 25,000km roads?

“On electricity, we pay 75 per cent more than we should pay for power through self generation of electricity. Contrary to their claim, the President and the PDP can’t give electricity.

http://ynaija.com/where-did-jonathan-construct-25000km-of-roads-gov-fashola-cant-believe-what-hes-hearing/
Na ipob generated lie, Fashola did not utter that lie and rubbish and in fact he said the opposite with facts...

Tell Buhari to meet with his follow APC states to kick start operation "own a rice farm". If every state can emulate Anambra then in less than 4 months Nigerians won't import rice again there by conserving scarce forex
And was our earnings the same like back then?

The useless woman gave the warning when oil was selling for $80 but oil us selling for $30 now so shouldn't common sense tell you that when your economy is doing bad at$80 p/b, it's even going to be catastrophic at $30/no.

It's like you think you should be drinking champagne when you have 3 Kobo when you couldn't even afford it when you had 10 Kobo.

The woman told us to get ready to suffer in 2013/2014/2015 because ahe knew our reserve was gone meaning if the price of oil keeps dropping and dropped to where it is today, their won't be any reserve left to fend of recession, it's simple economics.

When oil was selling for $100, she failed to diversify the economy and laid bsolutely no economic foundation to build on so what can the new administration do with oil as our main income earner selling for peanuts and some useless terrorists blowing up oil instalations and depleted foreign reserves?

The previous economy was based in corruption, looting and stealing and patronage. Even the banks had no real capital, the funds they lived large on was corruption and stolen funds that they no longer have.

That corruotion economy and culture must go and be replaced with real economy based on real productivity for us to survive.

We are talking about past governmenta that spent 90% of out yearly budgets on 1% of 170 with 10% left for the rest of the country. Jo money for capital projects which creates jobs and even the little they budget for roads is looted hence the whole country littered with thousands of abandoned projects.

You people can do better by telling us the brand or kind of magic wand or abracadabra this government can perform to increase our earnings by making oil sell for $100 like under jona or how they can do in less than 2 years with $30 oil price what previous governments could not do since independence.

You people should start from their, let us hear your wonderful advice and economic master plan instead of the pointless and meaningless noise.

I have read a lot of comments before making mine.

Jonathan did a lot of wrong things, but the reason why Nigerians economy was better off was not really about the oil earnings, it was simply because of the high number of technocrats he had in his administration; Okonjo Iweala, Akinwunmi Adesina, Olusegun Aganga etc.

This present administrations biggest problem is dearth or small number or even no technocrats in her supply. IN addition, majority of Jonathan's technocrats where coming from outside the country, with lots of experiences from having worked in foreign institutions, so they had a full grasp of the entire situation.

Why I mentioned technocrats with foreign experience is because these are the people Nigeria needs presently to turn around her fortunes. Nigeria as a nation is so disconnected from the global economy and markets,Nigeria has so much opportunity still going for her, if Nigeria gets her act right, she can spring up to become a big major economy in the world within a space of a decade or 2. But for Nigeria to transform a lot of bureaucracy, fat cats, redundancy must give way. We must get the best of the best to run our systems, not mediocre, ignorant and half baked individuals.
We are in an era in the world where knowledge reins supreme, therefore we as a nation have no reason dealing with super ignorant folks running our system. Time is ticking, we must get it right, because if we fail as a nation, a time will come when other parts of the world may not even tolerate us anymore. There is so much going for this nation, a word is enough for the wise.

We as a nation must seek for the best form of knowledge out there, we must completely overhaul our education and economic system, I will say it again, we need to get the best of the best, because those we have now have never really handled massive, complex task before and then they think they can handle the precarious situation the nation is in now. I rest my case.

Thanks

Nigerian govt borrowing billions to pay salaries – Okonjo-Iweala

In the face of dwindling oil revenues, Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said the Federal Government has borrowed about N473billion to pay salaries and fund the 2015 budget.

Brace for tougher times ahead, Okonjo-Iweala tells Nigerians

Nigerians should brace for tougher economic times ahead, the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said as crude oil prices slipped to a four year low on Wednesday.
New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) December WTI oil futures sold at $75.20 per barrel on Wednesday, down $1.98, from $74.96 per barrel the previous day, the lowest level for a most-active contract since September 2010.
Though the price of sweet crude, the blend of oil export from Nigeria, rose marginally at the close of trading on Wednesday to $76.96 per barrel, it has already crashed below the $79 per barrel benchmark approved in the 2014 Appropriation Act, concerns are mounting that tough times are indeed ahead.

N1.4bn Fraud: Court sentences ex-Kogi lawmaker to 154-year jail

April 25, 2016Press Release

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday secured the conviction of a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly and former Caretaker Chairman, Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of the state, Gabriel Daudu, for a N1.4 billion fraud.
Mr. Daudu, who was first arraigned in April 2010, was prosecuted by the EFCC on a 208-count charge bordering on money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.
Justice Inyang Ekwo, who tried the case at the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, found him guilty of 77 counts and sentenced him to 154-year imprisonment.

In his ruling, the trial judge held that the prosecution proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt, and therefore sentenced Mr. Daudu to two years on each of the 77 counts to run concurrently.
Yes, people don't go to jail for looting in Nigeria, just ask the above looter who is going to spend the rest of his life in jail...

He was charged in 2010 under Jona and PDP's EFCC and did not spend a day inside jail, but now that stealing is corruption under PMB, he's going to spend the rest of his life inside prison..

Blame Buhari for the recession

By Oby Ezekwesili

I still find it funny that most people don't know why Nigeria economy went into recession, they love the incompetent lies of Lai Mohammed about the past government ruining everything. It's also myopic to think that if Jonathan were to still be in power, we would be worse off.

The truth about Nigeria's recession is this; it was caused by the president's unguided rhetoric and uncultured body language. Firstly, there is nothing we are buying today that we weren't buying 5 years ago, therefore it's not our purchase that put pressure on Naira but withdrawal of funds by foreign investors. After the election, the president created instability with his unguided statements about how everyone is corrupt and how everyone is going to jail.

The instability made foreign investors to liquidate their investment and change their money to dollars. In the process of trying to flee, they were willing to buy dollars at any price, which lead to high exchange dollar rate. Even though some of them were not ready to run away, but want their money in dollars to save their investments from devaluation, the president gave a bad signal by banning deposit of foreign currency into dormiciliary accounts.

That was enough for free market believers to see the draconian handwriting on the wall, that was the beginning of dollar rush. To make matters worse, the president came up with another outrageous policy of rationing dollar to certain sectors and blocking many sectors out. That was the nail in the coffin which facilitated the emergence of free FALL. In the end, foreign investors took over $80B out of the economy within a short period and everything went down to free fall. To those who believe it will be worse if Jonathan is still there, you are all wrong. Policy continuity and political stability will not let billions of dollars leave our shores within such tiny time frame. Even though the government might have income shortage, the private sector will weather the storm by their
confidence in the market.

The fear of the unknown created by PMB is responsible for the economic downturn not low oil price. Interest rate in America is currently at 0.5% while it is 12% in Nigeria. JP Morgan & Chase will not mind borrowing $50b from Feds at 0.5 and put in Nigeria for return of %2000 profit. Citi bank will do the same, likewise US Bank Corp. Chase gave Buhari warning about the repercussions of his fixing policy before they pulled out, but his illiterate cyber warriors and misseducated e-soldiers said JPMORGAN can go to hell, they no longer believe in economic metrics since their messiah is in charge. Funny enough they are all suffering today because of the stupid policy, but they find relief by blaming it on past administration and Gucci appetite of average Nigerians.

For your information, if your president "kontunu" with his unguided rhetoric, Naira will go down to N1000/1 $. But we thank God, he is no longer talking.

She added, “Despite the foregoing, our client, who is a law-abiding citizen, has watched with surprise how efforts are being made surreptitiously to indirectly harass or harangue her and short-change her of her personal funds in breach of her fundamental human rights. We urge you sir, to kindly intervene to stop the untoward and wrongful actions of your officials to embarrass, inconvenience and short-change our client.
Law abiding citizen opening bank accounts in other people's names aka money laundering which is a criminal offense.

Criminal claiming law abiding... wonders shall never end.. grin

However, a detective in the EFCC said "We got a relevant court order to freeze those accounts and we have evidence which we will present in court on Friday.

“We did not know that the accounts belonged to Patience Jonathan at the time we froze them. The accounts do not bear her name neither do they carry her BVN (Bank Verification Number). So, how can she accuse us of harassment?
In the eyes of the law, that money doesn't belong to her. I mean, how do you lay claim to what's not in your name and not even the BVN?

Many looters used the same scheme to loot our money and got away with it, but this dumbass woman foolishly set herself up and lost...

BTW, what kain sickness you need $15 to treat? smh

Chai!! See ya life.. grin
