Politics / Salary Deductions: Oyo NLC Insists Govt Must Pay Salary In Full by Ariba2(m): 11:22am On Jul 28, 2023
Civil servants in Oyo State have been directed to converge at the entrance of the main gate leading to office of the state governor on Monday by 7:30 am in order to have him address them face to face on their long time demands.

The directive was given by the chairman of the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Kayode Martins after addressing workers on issues bordering on their salaries and others on Thursday at the NLC office, Ibadan.

According to him, the directive became imperative owing to the situation of things on their demand from the state government over some time.

It will be recalled that the union last week Thursday gave the state government ultimatum till last Monday to attend to their demand, hence, they cannot guarantee the industrial harmony in the state.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday July 27, 2023, at the NLC headquarters, Ibadan, Comrade Martins said they are not relenting on their oars at ensuring that the state government yield and attend to all their demands.

“We have written so many letters to the state government without any response, we don’t actually know what is going on. Just last week Thursday, we gave the government an ultimatum to address our demands till last Monday, yet nothing happened. So, we have resolved again to go in our numbers to converge at the main gate of the governor’s office so that he can come out to address us.

Comrade Martins said they are demanding state government to release the outstanding salary deductions and other entitlements of workers in the state from January 2023 till date, adding that they can no longer bear the pain.

According to him, the union is also admonished the state government to roll out parliative measures in good time to cushion the effects of subsidy removal as being done in other states, saying the cost of living has gone up and has really made life difficult for the entire masses.

He said they have series of demands most especially on issues pertaining to welfare of workers and the entire masses in the state.”We are demanding the state government to release the outstanding salary deductions of workers and other entitlements from January till date to enable them cope with the present economic situation.

“We still have some of our salaries being witheld from January till date, which is staff deductions. Secondly, we demand that government should release outstanding leave bonuses and letters promotion of workers over the years. Take for instance, since his pronouncement in 2021 on the issue, no worker has received any letter.

“So, we are asking and demanding that year 2022 and 2023 promotion be addressed with immediate effect. We are asking that the government should commence the payment for gratuities to retirees, because things have changed economically.

“We are asking the state government to respond to the deductions in workers salaries, outstanding promotions, since 2021, we are yet to receive any letter. The issue of gratuities and pension areas has to be reviewed. Pension was last reviewed in 2007 and we are still on the old salary despite the high rate of inflation and the harsh economy.

Comrade Martins said it is high time governor Seyi Makinde address them (Civil servants) on the situation of things on their demands, adding that they have long pacified the people.

We want the governor to talk to us one on one on Monday in order to know the situation of things. We have written series of letters without achieving any progress, so. this time we want to have one on one talk with him. In the last four years, no meeting has come between us and the governor.

The NLC chairman said the outcome of Monday’s gathering will determine their next line of action.

Health / Japanese Students Pay N43,000 An Hour For Smiling Lessons by Ariba2(m): 7:29am On Jun 06, 2023
After years of wearing masks against Covid, students in Japan have been undergoing ‘smile education’ to relearn their social cues, Mail online reports

According to Mail Online, Keiko Kawano’s company, Egaoiku, has seen a more than four-fold jump in demand for smile instruction since last year.

A one-hour-long session costs 7,700 yen (N43,000), and customers range from companies investing in salespeople to local governments supporting residents’ well-being.

One of the students taking the class as part of her school’s courses to prepare them for the job market, Himawari Yoshida, 20, said she needed to work on her smile.

I hadn’t used my facial muscles much during COVID so it’s good exercise,’ she said. Before the pandemic, wearing a mask in Japan was normal for many during hay fever season and around exams due to concern about getting ill for a key life event. A poll by public broadcaster NHK in May showed 55% of Japanese saying they were wearing them just as often as two months earlier. Only 8% said they had stopped wearing masks altogether.

Roughly a quarter of the art school students who took the smiling class on May 30 kept their masks on during the lesson. Kawano said that young people have, perhaps, become used to life with masks. She noted that women might find it easier to go out without makeup and men could hide that they had not shaved.

The former radio host who started giving lessons in 2017 has also trained 23 others as smiling coaches to spread the virtues and technique of crafting the perfect smile around Japan.

Her trademarked ‘Hollywood Style Smiling Technique’ method comprises ‘crescent eyes’, ’round cheeks’ and shaping the edges of the mouth to bare eight pearly whites in the upper row.

Religion / What The Bible Says About Elections by Ariba2(m): 12:29pm On Jan 29, 2023
BIBLE'S OPINION ABOUT ELECTION

Exodus 18:21 (NIV VERSION)
But select capable men from all the people--men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain--and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.

From the above bible verse, it is clear that we shall select from many to govern over :

-Thousands - Presidency
-Hundreds - Governorship
-Fifties - National Assembly
-Tens - State Assembly.

While we choose, let's consider these three things as prescribed by the bible:

-Men who fear God
-Trustworthy men
- Men who hate dishonest gain (bribe).

I pray that as we choose our leaders in this Election, God will open our eyes to see the best for this country.

Gidado Siddiki mentioned that they were not opposed to ban on open grazing but that the public hearing on constitution review should grant all parties the right to make submissions for a law against open grazing.
“We were not given the chance to go for the Constitution review public hearing, we went there but nobody gave us an audience to talk. We did not submit a petition,” he said.

In Kaduna civil service, one office, two cars, ten drivers. Most of the workers are useless, they will sit under mango tree gossiping from 9am to 4pm every working day.

The Governor should not bow to the pressure by NLC to re instate useless workers, but, he should pay them their severance package.

El Rufai should also sack all of his useless political appointees if he wants the labour to reason with him. You cannot tell the workers to make sacrifices while you maintain your own hundreds of government appointees without portfolio.

I AM DONE TALKING

From your submission, its obvious that u don't understand what organization restructuring is all about. If 2 cars is been driven by 10 drivers, whose fault. Does that nean kaduna govt doesn't have agencies where these drivers will be much needed. And if perhaps they employed too much drivers, restructure them by training them on another profession and deploy them to where they will be needed more.
I work in a media organization, i ve seen a couple of times when drivers, carpenters is been trained and converted to cameramen because they needed more camera handlers than drivers.

See his tweet

In OAU I graduated with a 3rd class, In Canada my lecturers urged me to take an IQ test after they saw my methods in solving shit.

I will try to make my story short.

On july 23rd, i was trying to recharge my prepaid meter via quickteller and to every time i tried, i was having ERROR, so i kept trying till i was successful at the fifth time. Meanwhile i didn't get alert for my transaction till after some time.
Shortly after five minutes i received alert of #3100 for four consecutive times for the transaction error, totaled 12400.
I called FCMB for like 3times but wasn't picked after spending nothing less than 20minutes on each call and its was not toll free. Eventually it was picked and they promised to investigate. Two days, #3100 was reversed out of #12400.
Up till date, nothing has been done to the remaining 9300 and they kept wasting my call cards for calling customer care.
Pls i need the appropriate Authority to report this financial institution for this act.
Attached are the quickteller receipts and call for tonight without been resolved as well.

Crime / How I Orchestrated My Disappearance From Police Custody- Suspected Serial Killer by Ariba2(m): 6:10am On Aug 24, 2020
The rearrested suspected Ibadan serial killer, Sunday Shodipe, has revealed he escaped when given opportunity to bathe at the Mokola Police Station on August 11.

He revealed this in an unconfirmed video posted by an Ibadan-based broadcaster, Hamzat Oriyomi, on Sunday.
Shodipe, who was arrested on July 17, escaped from Mokola, Ibadan police station on August 11.

He said he decided to escape when he realised the police officer guarding him was engrossed in a chat with another officer at the station.

Shodipe explained a female Divisional Police Officer, who was recently deployed to the station, ordered one officer (Funso) to allow him to take his bath.

He said the officer had warned him not to make any attempt to escape while taking his bath, adding that he was not even thinking of running away at that point.

He, however, recalled he decided to escape when he saw that the officer was engrossed in a discussion with another person and not paying attention to him.

He said: “The new female DPO asked officer Funso to allow us take our bath. He cautioned me not to try to escape when taking my bath.

“I escaped when I saw him discussing with another person. I climbed the borehole pole and jumped the fence.

“The people living in the area saw me when I escaped but they did not raise any alarm.”

He was rearrested on Sunday in Bodija area of Ibadan.

Proven way out of poverty: A gallon of this small animal's venom can fetch you $39 million.

Reports have that a gallon of the deathstalker's venom can be sold for about $39 million. Do you know how much that is in Naira?

Are you thinking what I am thinking?

I almost turned my eye away from the news until I got more proofs. Check them below

Although the deathstalker is the most dangerous scorpion in the world, its venom can be used to treat brain tumor and other cancers.

To get a gallon full of the deathstalker's venom, one has to milk the scorpion about 2.64 million times or get about 2.64 million deathstalker scorpions.

Trust Nigerians with hilarious responses especially when it comes to Revelations like this.
