Dumebi213:Did u use www.studyinnorway.no. there are biology courses ..I'm seeing a lot RN. Just keep engaging sha. |
Dumebi213:God morgen everyone!! Yeah, the language is kinda rigid.. It's not what someone can just learn without guide.. I'll advise from what I've researched one enroll in their respective universities' Norwegian classes. For example, UiS offers rebated Norwegian class to international students for just 1000Noks compared to what you'll pay if you enroll outside the school environment. This class is flexible and Also facilitates faster assimilation. Being amongst tenacious people learning a new language would make one understand it faster. Coupled with the rebated cost, they offer certificate upon completion of the language program.. For UiS, it's just 12 weeks with week 9 being a free week. Go to your prospective univs and make enquires on Norwegian class. I'm learning it via YouTube just easy ones but I'm definitely enrolling to my University's Norwegian class. Language to one isn't a barrier rather an advantage, opportunity for one.. Remember; whilst applying for a Norwegian PR,you need not only show proof of funds but you also need to show proof of Norwegian language proficiency up to an intermediate level. Tausen takks! |
I mailed UiS yesterday vis-a-vis Norwegian language to learn. The team reverted explicitly which I'll share :

Easternheart:That's nice... More grease to your elbow!! We shall come out triumphant,Amen!!!!! |
Whilst surfing Nord University's website, I saw the incoming semester timetable for my Desired course,MSC Finance and Investment and I was in a state of awe. The duration of their lectures is 2½ min - 4hrs max lol. No wonder our compatriots over there spend less time here.. Nevertheless, I have a question to our brothers/sisters over there What's the range class for a distinction in their MSC program? |
Easternheart:Wonderful!! That's how it's meant to be! We engage them(admission team). Happily and readily available to solve our challenges.let's keep engaging dem via mails. Just yesterday's news, Norway economy is booming already despite the distasteful pandemic that temporarily halted economic goals. @Easternheart,what do u plan on studying? |
Hello, i'm new here If this thread is still active please i would like assistance. Click on their website www.studyinnorway.no and Viola you'd see loads of universities that you can prolly choose from offering your loved program.. Normally ,they set their least grade requirement to 3 or C albeit I have seen some that set a floor of B. My advise for you are in 3 ways 1) prolly go for a less competitive course. 2)prolly go for a less competitive university. 3) spread ur application options that's applying to numerous schools. Who knows? From my observation, I think some schools would waive the ielts requirement due to the pandemic.. Sequel to my observation, I would advise all to prolly mail their preferred schools and engage with them, ask them questions. They're happily ready to assist. Like me now,I have interacted with my intended schools on a frequent basis. |
Under the GSU list,Nigerians are exempted from showing a proof of English Proficiency except some private universities like NHH and Bi Norwegian and also University of Oslo. I would advise you to be on a safer side that you should mail NTNU admission team relaying your challenges. They're in the best position to answer.. Howbeit, from referencing from the GSU list, we are exempted. We're to upload our Original Waec result.
|
Lol I saw something about it but I don't understand literally. Its like a nynorsk language having a testkbok for learning. Make our people shed more light on this..
|
There's no ongoing application RN. Traditionally, they commence school application by October prolly October 1st and some school starts theirs December 1st. It all depends on ur intended school.. |
Pls I was chitchatting with a tweep and she said they don't speak Bokmal any longer in Norway. She said they speak Pa vei. I don't really understand. Nairalanders in Norway studying, pls help out! I believe we should help one another when in position. This Nigerian Lady i chitchatted with gave hopes that Norway is a nice place and they're not really racist .

Haggai92:You're Green to go with UiS and NMBU. Only Oslo demands Ielts letter. You can mail Oslo telling them your challenges like ielts exam has been postponed indefinitely and besides you completed your Bsc in an English speaking country and English was the mode of instruction. They should understand... Rounding off,UiS and NMBU exempted us from any English tests. Namaste. |
Haggai92:Some schools exempted Nigeria from doing any English tests.. It all goes down to the school you intend to apply. What's the name of the intended school? |
Aragon1:Impressive! Congrats on your admission and stepping to a new level!! With the covid-19 pandemic all country experiences, what has your school put in place vis-a-vis to resumption of 2020 academic session for international students? Also,I understand one have to show a sum of #5m during the application process, if my sponsor at the moment has in his account #3m,is it possible to still get the admission letter. I still know I have to transfer #5m but during the application process can I show #3m. Hope u understand the question? |
Easternheart: |
Yeah, I know! Thanks for the clues on how to source the needed fund. Which program are u going for in the stated universities? |
What I saw. It's like our brothers that got admitted for this about to commence session can start preparing to travel though Nigeria is yet to lift international flight temporary ban. This news is a breeze of hope to y'all.. Wish y'all luck this coming session and may y'all excel over there academically and beyond. We are preparing to join y'all by this time next year. Enjoy!

Yeah,Actually you can! When I was in year 1(2016),the 1st semester I had 3.75 and the corresponding semester I had a g.p. of 4.67 accumulating to a CGPA of 4.21. Fast forward to yr 4(2019) which was my grad year,I graduated with a CGPA of 4.52(first class honours at the University of Lagos). Albeit it wasn't a rosy journey but I was pragmatic and tenacious, setting per semester what-if-gp scenarios (that's, setting a ceiling and a floor and must not go beyond their floor),and Yes!it worked for me. It's all about setting your priorities right, when to read and when to play. I never joked with my reading time table. Believe you can and you shall achieve it and Put God First! Namaste. |
Norway wants to kill us. Where people go c 123k Noks... God will make a way,Amen!!!!!!! |
Goddys:The public universities are tuition free.. Basically, it's tuition free |
You are really doing a great Job. Keep it up. I hope to be of help as much as possible when the need arises. Cheers bro. Please just to clarify, I am not in Norway just a prospective 2020/2021 Student. [/quote. You're welcome bro..I feel we should help each other and carry each other around. If anyone is interested in Economics, Finance or Investment. I could gladly put you through 'cause that's where my interest lies. Conversely, Boss what do u intend to study and which? |
I have read this thread from the first page to the last page and also independently researched on most schools in Norway via websites, mails,Youtube videos and others. I can also offer my #1. Majority of all schools requires Nigerians to send the under listed docs; 1) Transcript of records ( an original uploaded one and also the one send by your previous school to the intended school). Watermarked student copy won't be accepted,UiS told me that. 2)Diploma/Certificate ( all meaning the same) 3)CV 4)Waec/Neco Results. Or Waec scratch card(Nord Univ requested this) all as proof of English Proficiency and some need it to show as an evidence for o'levels 5) International Passport showing all ur details and photo. 6)An Enclosure form ( though its on their website, fill, sign, scan and upload it to them. 7)Documents of financing (2019/2020 session were asked to provided 121,220 Noks, though it might increase for 2021/2022(it basically covers ur wellbeing for a yr including accommodation but still hold more) The aforementioned ones are the primary ones, the secondary ones demanded by some are; GRe/GMAT ( NHH and Bi Norwegian demanded it)9) motivational letter or statement of purpose ( some art courses requested for it. 10) ielts/TOEFL ( some private univ demanded it) 10) Online dance video( some dance programs asked for it). That's all. The Herculean task is raising the 121,220 Noks . God will see us through, Amen!! |
Donppppp:Which schools are you contemplating on or Prolly want to apply to? I'm applying to 4 schools this October/December namely; University of Stavanger (UiS), University of Adger(UiA),Nord University and NMBU. I've been in talks with UiS via mail like 5 times though they said everything about admission would be made public this October obviously due to covid-19. They also said 15 Nigerians accepted to enroll to UiS this about-to-commence academic session. |
Who's applying to a Norwegian Univs this year? Let's liaise and share information! |
I think they've started attending to study-visa like issues. The embassy has started operations.

Good Afternoon Everyone! I'm a Prospective corp member yet to be deployed. I recently discovered that there's a mistake on my date of birth on my green card. My authentic DOB is 15th of January, 1995 but I saw May 15th,1995. I have gone through the online process of rectifying it using a waec verification card but the issue RN is that the date of birth icon is not on the dashboard. Pls is there any way I can rectify this cos I'm disturbed by it. Thanks in anticipation. |
Good morning everyone!!! Someone should pls shed more light on the grey areas I listed in my previous post. What grading system do they use in Norway? What score would give me an A(i.e 1) in Norway. For example, Nigerian Universities, one must have 70% in a course to have an A in that course, what score should one have in Norway to have an A in that course. My brothers and sisters in Norway, could you pls answer my questions.. I have narrowed my interest to 4 Norwegian Univs namely; UiS,UiA,Nord University, NMBU. All economics or finance courses. Lastly, how is the financial Industry like ? The rate at which they employ an African with an intermediate bokmal language knowledge. Pls ,help a naive brother! |
Who's applying to any Norwegian University this fall of 2020? I have read all from the beginning to the end of this thread and all I can say is 3 Gbosas to the pioneers and all that offered words of advise. I've made all independent research about Norway and my interest to study over there increased exponentially. If you've developed interest to study in Norway or nursing the thought, let's discuss about it and keep the thread full of life. Also, our Nigerian brothers over there, how is the country treating y'all, during studies and post studies? How easy did u get job after learning nyorsk or bokmal ? And lastly, which is recommended, nynorsk or bokmal albeit they're of equal importance but from what I read so far, people recommended bokmal more, pls shed more light on this Moreover,I graduated from Unilag late last year With a Cgpa of 4.52. I'm a prospective international student in Norway with interest in Economics or finance. Look forward to hearing/jotting your experiences. |
GRe/GMAT ( NHH and Bi Norwegian demanded it)
