o, let me get this straight, Nigeria wants to ban their soccer team, so FIFA in response threatens to ban them too? Sounds like a win-win situation for all involved! Why can't all conflicts be resolved like this?
SportsRe: Fifa Give Nigeria 48 Hours Ultimatum To Reverse Ban. by ariy(m): 2:02pm On Jul 02, 2010
all of u that saying competing, competting, if nigeria was banned. do u thing nigeria will win nation or w/cup in 2014 if we were not ban? or do u think we expecting immediate result of this restructuring. all is for future. nigeria can benefit from it in 10yrs time.

Princek12:
Here, it defeats the purpose of rebuilding the Eagles if they can't compete in international competitions for two years or more, assuming FIFA suspends us because of govt. interference in football affairs. At the end of the suspension, the SE would have suffered a serious setback.

It is shocking that so many Nigerians who are supporting this ban cannot foresee the seemingly inevitable ominous consequences of this ban.
what did nigeria got since 2002?
What if next 4yrs u got nothing again if lulu & co still there?

mr.official:
I laugh at people that say, its a wrong decision. Ok, lets think about it, what do we gain from the football?

No results.

Looting.

Politics.

e.t.c

The only result we get is disappointment.

Does this Nigeria Corrupt Football Federation help Nigerians? No!

So why waste billions on something that yields nothing?

Can't we sacrifice 5 years? For how long now?

I don't bleeping care about FIFA and Nigeria's football anymore.
God go bless u jare

World Cup 2010: Gabriel Heinze's Argentina Strike Should Have Been Disallowed - FIFA
Referee's committee criticise Wolfgang Stark's decision not to give a foul for Walter Samuel's obstruction in the build-up to the goal.

Argentina missed several gilt-edged chances on their way to a 1-0 reverse of Nigeria on Saturday. However, according to FIFA the one attack that did finish with the net bulging should have been disallowed by referee Wolfgang Stark.

Ole reports that a FIFA post-match analysis ruled that there was a foul in the build-up to Gabriel Heinze's stunning header, and that Stark should never have allowed the goal.

The FIFA referees' committee released their findings on Tuesday, as a guide for future judgements in this year's tournament. And amongst other rulings, they made it clear to referees that they must watch for infractions at corners and free-kicks - specifically attacking players blocking markers, as happened on Saturday.

As Juan Sebastian Veron's cross floated over Walter, Samuel enveloped Chinedu Obasi and stopped him from moving, thereby giving Heinze all the space he needed to propel the ball home. Stark should have therefore penalised Samuel for obstruction and awarded a free-kick to the Super Eagles - a judgement that could have changed the course of the whole game for Argentina.

Although the ruling comes too late for Nigeria, it has interesting implications for the rest of the tournament; a sign that FIFA will not tolerate the pushing, shoving and holding commonplace on both sides at dead-ball situations, and that in future such offences will be punished with either disallowed goals or penalties in the case of the defence committing an infraction.

A giant sinkhole larger than a street intersection has swallowed a three-storey building and a house in Guatemala, as residents reel from a storm that has killed at least 146 people across Central America.

In the north of Guatemala City, the giant sinkhole opened up in the wake of Tropical Storm Agatha, reportedly killing a security guard although local officials have not confirmed the death.

A similar hole opened up nearby last year and residents blamed the sinkhole on a poor sewage drainage system underground.

In towns outside the capital, people caked in dirt searched for their loved ones as the stench of mud and sewage from flooded drains filled the air and emergency workers urged survivors to leave ruined houses and go to shelters.

The first-named storm of the 2010 Pacific hurricane season, Agatha hit Guatemala on Saturday, dumping more than one metre of rain in the mountainous west of the country and in neighbouring El Salvador.

"I've got no one to help me. I watched the water take everything," said Carlota Ramos in the town of Amatitlan near the Guatemalan capital.

Her brick house was almost completely swamped by mud.

As the sun came out, exhausted rescue workers hauled away stones and tree trunks from crushed houses as they fought to reach wounded people and find the dozens still missing.

"We just have shovels and picks. We don't have any machinery to dig," said firefighter Mario Cruz, who had been working almost non-stop since Saturday.

Other rescuers walked for several hours along muddy tracks to reach trapped villagers and pull them out of collapsed homes.

At least 123 people died in Guatemala and 59 others are missing, according to the government.

Helicopters ferried tents and medical supplies to remote towns on Guatemala's Pacific coast and the first foreign aid began to flow in on Monday.

More than 94,000 people have been evacuated as the storm buried homes under mud and swept away a highway bridge near Guatemala City.

Central America is vulnerable to heavy rains due to its mountainous terrain, while poor communications in rural areas complicate rescue efforts.

ComputersNigerian Scammers Con Wa Woman Of $9000 by ariy(op): 12:26pm On May 14, 2010
A West Australian single mother is out of pocket by nearly $9000 after being ripped off by Nigerian internet scammers who impersonated the state's consumer fraud regulator.

The woman, who did not want to be named, was conned into transferring the money overseas with the promise of a $US250,000 ($A278,000) windfall from the Nigerian government.

The hoaxers used fake emails from WA ScamNet, eBay, PayPal and the Nigerian Police, Customs and Central Bank in the elaborate sting.

WA ScamNet is the fraud advisory arm of the WA Department of Consumer and Employment Protection (DOCEP), which profiles scams targeting local consumers and businesses.

Consumer Protection Commissioner Anne Driscoll said the victim was targeted after selling a $250 portable PlayStation on eBay last month.

A bogus buyer made an offer, but asked for the item to be shipped to Nigeria, claiming to have transferred the funds via PayPal.

The seller received a fake email from PayPal confirming the funds had been deposited, and was then asked by the scammers to pay additional shipping costs and duty.

Fake Nigerian Customs forms and phony PayPal emails again `confirmed' payment.

Suspecting a scam, the victim contacted WA ScamNet, which advised her to break off contact with the fraudsters.

But after forwarding the email to the scammers themselves, they sent her fake emails with WA ScamNet and WA government logos, advising her to co-operate with Nigerian authorities.

She then received a phony eBay email saying the case had been reported to the Nigerian police, who had arrested the fraudster.

Later, a fake police email told her the Nigerian president had awarded her $US250,000 ($A279,485) in compensation.

SportsRe: Age Cheat Chukwudi Fortune - Evidence Released, What Now? by ariy(m): 5:51pm On Nov 12, 2009
Jonnic1:
Adokiye is entitled to his observations/opinions.  But may I ask, why now, when the world cup is ongoing? Was he aware of the inclusion of Fortune Chukwudi in the squad before the competition began? If yes, what did he do or say? did he come out to tell the NFA and the World that Chukwudi was well over aged or he is just getting to know that he was included in the team? so many questions. Sometimes I wonder what informed Adokiyes outburst at this point in time.  Let's stop deceiving ourselves, I am not supporting age cheats in anyway, but lets be honest for once, how may of us talking about age cheats do in all honesty declare our true age in documentation/applications/vacancies we apply for. In Nigeria today people hide their true age for various reasons, especially in the civil service.

Did we care to ask about the players paraded by other Countries if they are truly 17 years of age or not, or is it in Nigeria alone that we have supposedly age cheats? How many of you can truly raise a team of true under 17 players if supposedly you are appointed to raise an under 17 side for Nigeria? When you were 17 years old how did you look like, perhaps you have boys and girls around you who are 17 years of age, how do they look like? So what I am saying in effect is that placed in the same situation as Coach of the under 17 side, most of us will definitely include over aged players in the team.

Adokiye that is shouting today I can bet you that if giving the opportunity to raise an under 17 side for Nigeria cannot raise a true set of players who are just 17 years of age or under.  To my mind, FIFA has the final say in respect of fishing out over aged players. That is the reason why they have introduced the  MRI Test to help determine the true age of players and they have stated categorically that players are being tested randomly and results will be released accordingly. I personally believe that there is no player in the Eaglets team that is truly 17 years of age but as long as FiFA's MRI test say they are within the age bracket so be it.  After the competition we can sit down as a country and find ways to raise a true under 17 side for future competitions. But I count it absurd for somebody to come  out at this point in time to start chorusing over age about your Countries player/s while d competition is in progress. For the records, the Nigeria version of the  MRI test was carried out in the National Hospital Abuja.S
huh?
