McDoe:No one should be immune from criminal proceeding. That is why they are there. If they feel police have harrass someone unnecessary they should step up their work as house of assembly and fight for our rights. Shielding anyone from criminal investigation and criminal proceeding is injustice to victims of crime |
Meanwhile in another part of the globe ITALINA PRIME MINISTER LOSES IMMUNITY Italy's Constitutional Court has overturned a law granting Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi immunity from prosecution while in office. The move opens the possibility that Mr Berlusconi, 73, could stand trial in at least three court cases, including one in which he is accused of corruption http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8295716.stm |
What if the man happened to be an ambitious comedian who also acts in movies and fight for human rights? |

They are Mugus. The don't even know barack obam is a chameleon and a liar. He went to Ghana because of the oil discovered. Americans dont give a shit about democracy and human rights. They are just after oil. Did you see Obama in Egypt? Why did he went to egypt if it is about democracy? or saudi? Who are they going to fool? Do you know how many times American presidents have visited Saudi in recent times? Bastard. Africans we shall continue with our ignorance and believe the white will save us. or the white man in black skin will save us. |

Fhemmmy:The problem is not the president alone. His ministers are bunch of nincompoons. They are suppose to pick up this issue for a long time and address the Ghanian nation. You might be suprised that the president will not be informed about what is happening. Our foreign affairs minister and minister of commerce are just bunch of political opportunist. Just listening to that Ojo Mad -akuya at UN made me sick. |
blacksta:There is nothing like every nation have a right to protect its local content. If you agree and sign a treaty with internation bodies you have to live up to your obligation. This is what it means to belong to community of nations. How can you belong to a community and only be ready to reap the benefits without giving anything in return. For years the Ghanian nation have refused to live up to its pledge. They do not contribute Forces for peace keeping in West Africa, they do nothing. But they are good in beging for subsidy of petroleum products. While we create a market for their industries. If they do not want to be part of ECOWAS, they should go out. Imagine Britain doing that in EU |
If I am the president of Nigeria, I will halt the west african gas pipeline project. Stop export of subsidized crude oil to Ghana. They depend on Nigeria to subsidized crude oil to Ghana and importation of any good made from Ghana. That will teach them a lesson. OBJ did that to Benin Republic. He closed the boarder and their president have to come to This government should learn to look after our interest with whatever means. You cannot continue to be a big brother and the bastards are pinching your with needles whenever you are not looking If I become the President of Nigeria I will teach them lesson Bastards Ingrates |
Most you will be suprise if you are told that the emirs and sultan are not fans of shariah. The masses in the north are not control by the emir, rather by certain religious group who do not even pay allegiance to the emirs. The politics in the north is rather a bit complicate. The emirs are mere traditional leaders now, just like the obas in the south. |
I still cannot understand Nigeria and Nigerians in general If you have problem with your wife and children try to sort it out with them. If they have problem try and find their problem. Your nuclear family is having problem with success and self esteem. Try and find your problems. Stop blaming innocent souls for your failure How do you know your extended family charmed your wife? This fallacy and ancients believe can't never go away? I believe in God but I no longer believe in charms. It is all about finding someone to blame for your bad luck. No one have the power on this earth to control the destiny of another soul through superficial myths |
@Yeanchah007 I definately have to jump into conclusion. Even if you are from north, then your knowledge of Northern politics is still rudumentary. I have indepth knowledge of both inside and outside of the sultanate coucil. The IBB, DASUKI, ABACHA case is completely different from present politics. What happend there is a personal fights and grudges not political. You can continue to wallow in ignorance if you believe the sultan and emirs dictate the political pace of Nigeria. At the moment it is people like james ibori and turai that determine nigerian fate |
yeancah007:Now I know you have little knowledge about the whole thing. Historically, the Sultan used to be leader of the Northern Nigeria but not something like a president or so. Unlike in Saudi or other Arab countries, the Northern Emirates are semi autonomous. The emirates council decides who become the emir and the sultanate council decides who become the sultan. With the present political system, the governors of the states approves the appointment of the sultan and the emir. The Sultan is symbolically the head of muslim but he is appointed and removed by the state governor. Abacha did not announce the removal of Dasuki, rather the governor of sokoto, Col Mu'aza removed the Sultan. Even today, Yar'adua cannot appoint or remove sultan. The case of Abacha is a different ball of game. He is dictator who decides who your governor, commissioners and even local government chairman. Most of you that are not from the north wont understand how the system works. The Sultan and the emirs have little or no political power. The governors are the maximum power brokers. Infact, Governors in the north are more or less like Military dictators. |
yeancah007:You don't know anything. You don't even know who an emir is, and what he does. You just read newspaper and believe every conspiracy theory you read there. |
yeancah007:It seems to me you have little knowledge about what is going up in the North. The myth that the sultan and emir control the political system can only be believed by someone who have little or no knowledge of the Nigerian political system. The greedy politicians control the system. The sultan can be removed today by the Sokoto State governor and all the Emirs can be removed by state Governors. The Emirs do not even have a say as to who become the governor of a state let alone the direction of the federal government. Stop blaming the North for the ill of this country. Stop blaming the Fulani for the ill of this country. Look into yourself and find out what is your problem and look for the solution. You can sit down somewhere and expect somebody to do the right thing for you. |
