In your analysis you have Identified one of the main cultural heritage that drag us back to ancient world. While Africans still prides themselves in the same old primitive cultures, the rest of the world have discarded them and moved on. Once, I described some of our culture as primitive in a wrong (right) place and I nearly got the beaten of my life in Nigeria for daring to insult our way of life. However, a careful thinking and observation, can attest to the fact that they are primitive.

Take for instance, the Emir and Oba systems we have. It is not uncommon to find people that are called servants of the king. But in the real sense, these people are slaves. They do not earn a living or have any independence of making choice about their lives nor aspiration for a better life. It is is more shocking that in the North, servants are inherited. Even the mode of dressing of these our called Traditional Rulers reflect the stone age. Prior to the develop of cloths, all human dress in either leaves or animal skin. But as humans discover clothes they shed those things and embrace the civilization. Africans, however, stuck to the same stuff. Claiming to be the only people with culture. This is no culture. This has been the way of life in the ancient civilization. We are just a living musuem for the amusement of the rest of the world.

The bondage to Slavery is more apparent when you are denied the right to speak in your mother Tongue.

Wake up Africans. Speaking good English, French, Portugese, Arabic will not make us a better nation.

This is like inventing the "Perpetual Motion Machine" which violates the fundamentals laws of thermodynamics. However, no such machine exists and can exist.

The reference to the dry cell give the complete description of the machine. It is just a DC to AC current converter. Not an inverter in the sense, but at the end of the day, you might have to buy the dry cell.

Energy can only be transformed from one form to another.

@All,

It seems a lot of people are interested in participating in the discussion for various reasons. While I do not know your motives but as a frequent visitor to this site,  Im not lost at the intentions of many.

In any case, I m not the originator of this post but a contributor. And I took it as a responsibility to response to his challenge. There is no sinister or ulterior motives. Most of what I say is not new to most of you here, rather just written in a different language. And even with that, most of you will have an idea of what the discussion is all about.

In summary, we are just discussing the problems of Northern States and Nigeria in general from the eyes of the Almajiris

I am Igbo first, before I am Nigerian. What is hard for you people to understand that?

Nigeria was forced onto my people and I am tired of this nation. These yeye people who continue to scream "One Naija" continue to delude themselves and they should have their head examined. The country is not working and Africa is moving into the direction in which ethnic groups are being given political and economic federalism or outright autonomy.

People need to understand how a person's ethnic group plays a role in someones identity. Africa is no different from the world.

The French are an ethnic group with their own country, Germany is filled with Germans who are an ethnic group.

Why should I support a nation that was created at the Berlin Conference? angry

I want to believe you have grasp of the Nigerian history before the Independence and immediately after the first coup more than I do. Why do you want to skip the fact that at that time, the Northern Nigeria would rather go alone than be part of the Nigerian state? This is a stated fact and everybody knows that. The Western and Eastern Nigeria before independence are the champion of one Nigeria.

We're no longer under military rule? Does that mean we should forget how the north used military incursions into government to creat the present disequilibrum in the polity?

After Independence, there was a tripod of regions in this country: north, east and west, after the war, the military rulers who have been mostly northerners destroyed the tripod and instead created a simple dichotomy of the north vs disorganized south.

I bring up this issue at this time, because the son of a slave owner who benefitted immensely from the sweat and blood of his father's slaves can't just say, because slavery is over, I have had no advantages over the sons of those slaves from who back he profitted.

In Nigeria, the northern based military apparatus created a constitution that permenently enslaved the southerners, created a lopsided number of states in the north to ensure perpetual northern domination in the federal legislature, and you don't want to talk about the past military rules?

Actually the Unity Government was started during Ironsi and so, the military continued along that path.

My argument is not for a breakup of the country. My argument is actually
for us to stop the instinctive tendency to divide the country into an imaginary
North and South.

There are states in the ''North'' that have lost and still have as much to lose
based on this mythical division. If we can get states especially the middle belt
states to the side of the ''south'', then we can constitutionally shape the country
that best serves our needs.

We have to look at issues pragmatically and holistically.Check this links out from Al Jazeera .Then you will understand that many Africa leaders who refuse to give in to the right reasoning deserves a coup against them. Why must Africa continue to suffer under despotic leaders who are never interested in their well fare? When it happened in Honduras last year, the world condemned it but later had to understand that it was necessary to save a society from the whims and caprices of one man.The US has recognized the Honduras election although Brazil and some other countries have not and to a large extent it is inconsequential.Where was your president who was supposed to take charge of this matters that has been trying to escalate in the last one year? Did you think that this is an isolated incident? Address my questions and writing holistically and stop singling out legitimacy. Why must it be in Africa that leaders spend many years in power and have only poverty to show for it? It is in your country that a man had the guts to tell the whole nation that he made $500 million from sale of oil block and will get away with it.Was that oil block located in his fathers compound?

Any act can be deem legal if it is supported by the Law of the Land. When we say Law of the Land, I think you will agree with me, it is the Law of the country. The Law of the Land made Armed forces the Protect Territory and Government of the country from internal and external forces. Mr Tanja is an internal threat to the peace of the country. The Constitutional court in Niger Last year declared that his intention to extend his power is illegal and therefore he should conduct election and handover.

Mr Tanja, illegally dismissed the constitutional court and suspended the constitution by insitituting state of emergency in the country. By doing that, Mr Tanja have violated the Law of the Land and therefore consititute an internal threat to the peace of the Nation. It is the Legal duty of the Army, to remove Mr Tanja from office because Tanja by Law is not the Commander - in chief of the forces as he is by Law barred from being the commander in chief since December 22nd.

However, it is illegal for the Army to also declare themselves the leaders of the government. If they remove Tanja from office and follows the consititutional order of handing power in the country then they act within the Law.

I hope you are aware that a visa is a diplomatic privelage not a right.

A country have a right to regulate the number of people it allows to settle. Anybody that goes on a student visa, should go to school and after that pack his things and move back to his country as someone told you. Any pretext of extending your stay if not legal you have no right to complain if you cannot get a job or otherwise you are asked to move out.

UK is a pathetic country if you don't have a job or legas status.

One more thing to remind you, Nigerians are currently killing each other in Jos, largely based on the indigene settler status, not religious as widely reported. And till the present day, no person can go to another part of the country and claim residency despite the fact that we are all black people.
