EducationRe: Shocking!the Only Lagos Model Pry Sch In Ikorodu Where Pupils Learn On The Floor by arlomah(op): 5:14pm On Mar 29, 2017
Thank you for your post @zxcvb. We appreciate it.

However, if you would like to visit the School in Ikorodu to confirm the state of things for yourself, we wont hesitate to provide the needed support.

Thanks once again.

zxcvb:
Just to draw traffic.. bloggers put up fake stories.....
This is not a school
And what proof is there to show that this is Lagos state?
This pic could have been taken elsewhere, but they know the name LAGOS will drive traffic hence they had to tag it "Lagos Model pry School".
And for those who don't verify the authenticity of stories.... you can gloat over this.
But for those of us who live in Lagos, Know Lagos and Ambode's might strides in Lagos, we know this pic wasn't taken in Lagos, and could never have been taken Lagos.
EducationShocking!the Only Lagos Model Pry Sch In Ikorodu Where Pupils Learn On The Floor by arlomah(op): 2:49pm On Mar 28, 2017
The sight of the students’ classroom that welcomes you to the only Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, located on Shagamu road, Ikorodu, is enough to leave one in worry.
This is owing to the current state of the class where school kids who are meant to grow into leaders, role models and government officers in the future are taught on a daily basis.
InsideMainland gathered during a visit to the school that the classrooms have been in such terrible state for quite some time.
The shocking discovery during the visit was that school kids are made to read and write on the floor owing to the lack of adequate structures in place in the institution of learning. The kids who are lucky enough to have something to sit on often times welcome their classmates to share the available ones with them.
Also, parts of the structure have grown so old and decrepit that when it rains heavily, academic activities would be disrupted because the cover has made way.

PoliticsLagosiansreact To Official Commissioning Of Second Ojota Pedestrian Bridge by arlomah(op): 7:25pm On Mar 24, 2017
The official opening of the second Ojota pedestrian bridge has in the last few weeks become topic of discussion on social media. This is as a result of the urgency in the opening of the bridge for public use not leaving aside the stress associated with using the only existing one at the popular Ojota bus stop.
Earlier today, InsideMainland reported the planned official commissioning of the footbridge for public use by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode led administration.
Moments afterwards, the information of the bridge opening as shared by InsideMainland drew the attention of Mainlanders who reacted to the move by the Lagos State Governor to officially commissioning the footbridge himself.
Mainlanders opined that as a result of the urgent need to open the bridge, the rendezvous associated with an official commissioning and the cost implication was unnecessary.
According to a Twitter user, Debowale, he queried the need to officially commission the bridge. “So we now have to celebrate commissioning of pedestrian bridge! Mediocrity 100%. I hope it's not Ambode that is doing the commissioning?” he asked.
Another user with the name Overgraduate went philosophical saying “a time will come when we won't be spending money and valuable time that could be useful elsewhere to commission projects.” Kylo Ryan said “getting a DJ is a bit too much for me. It's what's expected of them to open up a new pedestrian bridge if needed. Don't reward mediocrity”

Following InsideMainland’s exclusive look into the spate of cult related killings and the atrocities caused by the gang in Ikorodu community, the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) attached to the Lagos State Police Command have reacted to the investigation.
The Ikorodu community, formerly known for its serenity is now ‘unofficially’ the headquarters of cultism in Lagos if not Nigeria. This is as a result of the over 200 cultism-inspired attacks that was recorded in the area in 2016 alone.
Areas such as Igbogbo, Odogunyan, Ladega, Itun Nla, Anibaba, and Benson; is fast growing into the hotbed of cultism in Ikorodu axis. This is owing to the number of attacks by the rival gangs in these areas in the last few months.
Commenting on the efforts of the Police to ensure security of lives and properties in the community, the Commandant of the RRS, ACP Disu Olatunji disclosed that the “Police and the RRS are doing everything possible to make Lagos safe for everyone of us. We have our officers stationed across parts of Ikorodu and the crimes prone areas for them to easily nip crime in the bud.”

Politics#istandwithnigeria: Lagosians Storm Surulere In Demand For Good Governance by arlomah(op): 5:12pm On Feb 06, 2017
Lagosians as well as other Nigerians stormed the iconic National Stadium, Surulere, today to be part of the #IStandWithNigeria march in protest against the form of governance in the country.

The protest had earlier witnessed a major setback after its convener, Tuface Idibia announced the cancellation in the early hours of yesterday, February 5, 2017. The development however didn’t deter Nigerians who seized the opportunity to go ahead with the protest in the absence of the legendary music act.

Originally scheduled to commence at 8:00am, the gathering of the protesters earlier witnessed a low turnout with residents, protesters, NGOs alongside other civil societies converging late at the venue. This almost led to a turnoff for protesters who arrived the scene early enough to meet heavy Police presence across different strategic positions at the venue.

BusinessModion Communications Maiden Parley With Brand Journalists: See How It Went by arlomah(op): 6:13pm On Jan 17, 2017
On January 14th, Modion Communications hosted Brand Journalists to a media parley at La Mango in Ikeja. The round table event was put together by the Modion Communications team to inform the Journalists on thier activities so far.

Modion communications is a full spectrum agency, focused on providing public relations, brand development, marketing activations, media engagement, crisis communications, financial PR, investors’ relation Support, event management, digital marketing and media publishing.

Though Modion Communications is based in Lagos, Nigeria, it envisions an African dominance through superior, innovative, creative, cutting-edge communications solutions to individuals, small businesses, large corporates, industries and government agencies. Modion Communications is confident that this is a destination it is capable of establishing it's footprints. In just two years of its set up, the team is proud that they've been able to work with leading brands and organisations such as Oando, Leadway Assurance, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, Rain Oil, the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), Platform Petroleum, Nepal Oil and Gas Services Limited, Propetrol Limited, to mention but a few.

In 2016, Modion communications helped organise one of the leading conferences in the energy sector - the NGA 10th International Conference & Exhibition held in Abuja. The event had in attendance the Minster of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, CEOs of leading International Oil Companies (IOCs), GMD of the NNPC, Legislators and other key stakeholders in the Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. Modion communications also launched a content marketing campaign for Leadway Assurance - one of Nigeria’s foremost and most respected insurers - to creatively sell its products through a year-long editorial series in mainstream newspapers. In the same vein, Modion communications had the privilege of developing the brand identity for the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) - an initiative of the Lagos State Government established to provide institutional and financial support to Micro, Small & Media Enterprises (MSMEs) as a strategy to boost job creation as well as train and seek employment opportunities for the unemployed in the State. Modion Communications is also currently providing full communications advisory to the LSETF.

In his address to the Brand Journalists, the CEO of Modion Communications, Odion Aleobua stated that in spite of the state of country's economy, he is hopeful of the year 2017. "In the light of an eventful 2016, our outlook for 2017 is very positive and optimistic. We believe agencies who are able to provide integrated marketing communications with strong engagement tactics on the digital and traditional platform will excel in 2017 despite the current economic realities. The PR Agencies who can craft compelling narratives for their clients and creatively use other platforms to amplify messages will be at an advantage. Those who can evaluate their strategies and tactics deployed for clients to show ROI will gain the trust of their clients.

In continuation of the current communications trend, digital deployment will continue to grow in the dimension of tactics and budget. But with the social media space still grasping with the issues of credible information dissemination - especially as Fake News assume a new normal - the traditional mainstream media will be relied on for validation. This will once again help them gain ground hitherto lost to social media platforms in the wake of the new media phenomena.

In 2017, Modion Communications will be poised to play strongly in the digital and online media space as well as marketing communications deployments. Market activations and stakeholder engagements will likely dominate our offerings during the year. We are also likely to expand our operations with strategic acquisitions. We are currently in talks with our partners in this regard.

Looking back we are proud of what we have achieved in the last 2 years and I am thankful to the Modion Communications team; Their energies, commitment and drive ensured we deployed our plans with execution excellence that helped us exceed the expectation of our clientele. Also, I am eternally grateful to our clients who have shown confidence in this young startup. It gives me hope for future startups that bigger corporations will provide them the opportunity to demonstrate capacity and grow their businesses."

PoliticsKetu Pedestrian Bridge Continues To Shake As Terrified Commuters Beg KAI by arlomah(op): 5:16pm On Dec 15, 2016
Weeks after InsideMainland exclusively reported the overcrowding and looming danger at the Ketu pedestrian bridge, commuters still use the foot bridge with fear of being hurt in the process.
When InsideMainland visited the spot during the rush hour earlier today, commuters were seen in numbers using the bridge to access other parts of Ketu to avoid crossing the expressway due to the ban by the government.
InsideMainland learnt that due to the current state of the bridge, residents have resorted to begging KAI officers stationed at strategic points on the expressway to arrest offenders to allow them cross the expressway. This development was as a result of how the bridge vibrates and terrifies commuters when used.

However, checks on the pedestrian bridge showed that the government is currently involved in repair works there.

Presently, the rust railings commuters can use to gain balance when using the pedestrian bridge are currently been replaced with new ones while the usual directional signs on parts of the bridge has been removed.

Speaking to a resident who simply identified himself as Mukhtar, “the rehabilitation work on the bridge commenced few days ago but it has stopped. At first, I was impressed by the swift action to put the bridge in shape but I don’t understand why work stopped here.”

When asked when the workers were last seen on site, he swiftly replied that “it’s been three days since they last came here. I hope they finish what they started so we can use the bridge without fear.”

It was also discovered during checks around the bridge that the newly installed railings were only effected on both sides of the foot bridge as construction workers stopped at a portion connecting the railings to the steps on the pedestrian bridge.

The railings preventing commuters from failing off the steps connecting the pedestrian bridge are still in a bad state and needs to be changed.

The Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Communities and Communications, Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan, told InsideMainland that “the Ministry of Works and Infrastructures is evaluating the bridge and will recommend immediate and long term solutions.”

Furthermore, InsideMainland learnt that there are plans by the government to cover the pedestrian bridge during the ongoing rehabilitation work there.

I guess it is indeed turning into .... insidemainland.com/2016/12/14/niyisodimuschronicles-mogbo-moya-morogo-no-cant-happening/
