CrimeEiye Cult Leader Killed In Ipaja Cultism Clash - Graphic Photos by arlomah(op): 2:01pm On Oct 26, 2016
There was pandemonium in Abesan Federal Housing Estate, Ipaja in the Alimosho axis of Lagos yesterday, Tuesday, October 25, 2016, after suspected cultists wreaked havoc in the area. During the attack, a man identified simply as Bebo, was butchered in cold blood leading to his death on the spot.

Presently, shops in the area are currently locked for fear of a reprisal attack in the community.
InsideMainland gathered from a source that residents were thrown into confusion when the cultists stormed the area on motorcycles. The gang we learnt had been on the trail of Bebo before he was cornered at the spot where he was murdered.

The source who craved anonymity disclosed that “he is popularly known as Bebo in the area. He visited a pharmacy to get drugs before he was hit unaware. The guys who attacked him outnumbered him and he couldn’t escape the scene.”

InsideMainland gathered that Bebo was formerly a student of the University of Lagos before he dropped out. Our source revealed that “He is feared in the area because he is a member of the Eiye Confraternity. He was the second in command while at Unilag and also held the same position in Abesan before he was killed yesterday night.” Photo of a much younger Bebo Another resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said that “he was killed at Greenland Bus stop after stepping out of the drug store. The cultists blocked him while he tried to run and immediately took turns in inflicting cuts on him before he died.” When asked if security operatives have visited the scene, the source told InsideMainland that “Police officers were around yesterday after the incident but no arrests were made. CrimeShocking! 200 Cult Attacks Recorded In 10 Months In Ikorodu Community by arlomah(op): 8:18am On Oct 21, 2016
Since the turn of the year 2016, the spate of cult related attacks in the usually peaceful Ikorodu community, an area located North East of Lagos State, has gone up north.
The community with a population of 535,619 as recorded in the 2006 census was formerly a toast of Lagosians due to the quiet and serene environment. The reverse is however the case now as the community is gradually turning to a theatre of war due to incessant killings by cult groups, daylight robberies, kidnapping and land grabbing in the area.
This development has led to panic on the part of residents who currently live in constant fear of being attacked in parts of the community.
An investigation conducted by InsideMainland showed that Ikorodu community is currently the hotbed of cultists in Lagos owing to the number of attacks recorded in the community in the last few months.
In October 2016 alone, nine deaths have been recorded in Ikorodu with more than 22 cult related shootings recorded. While some persons survived the shootings, the unlucky ones did not. Some innocent citizens were also hit by stray bullets leading to their demise. You will recall that InsideMainland has extensively reported the cult killings in Ikorodu community in recent times.
In an exclusive chat with the Provost Marshall of local vigilante group, Onyabo, Mr. Olanrewaju Olabinjo, he told InsideMainland that the number of cult attacks in 2016 alone has increased drastically as the cult members now attack in broad daylight. He however stressed that his vigilante group has made over 150 arrests to ensure safety of lives and properties in the community. In his words, “I have said it on different occasions that the reason behind the incessant cult attacks in Ikorodu is due to the land grabbers who give ammunitions and also sponsor the cultists in the community. PoliticsRe: Contractor Who Did Horrible Road At Makoko Will Be Summoned - Lawmaker Says by arlomah(op): 9:10am On Oct 19, 2016
Hello, Mr Stephens..

I'm glad my report on the commissioning of the Ramotu/Erejuwa street in Makoko and subsequent follow up on the job done there got your attention and that of the government. I presented facts in my report and challenge you to come up with a convincing evidence because the ones you have here are doctored ones.

In response to your allegations that I was sponsored by members of the community, you have your right to opinion however, I am not will never be bias when presenting an arrangement of facts in my story. Here I make bold to say that InsideMainland does not request, solicit or receive inducements to do our stories.

While you claim the flood was caused by tides, I would like to remind you that the area was flooded owing to the demarcation constructed by your workers to prevent water from spilling on the road prior to commissioning. Also, your workers stationed pumping machines by the spot to continuously pump water from the place and I'm surprised you retracted your words that "the community members were impatient" as your company will continue repair works on the road for the next 6 months.

Wishing you all the best as you battle to save the road.

Warm regards,

stevehans:
This unfounded report by so called reporter with no traceable address is in no doubt sponsored by some members of the community that made some demand which was refused.

I am an Engineer on this project at Ramotu/Erejuwa street in Makoko and I would love to invite you Hon. Oladele Rufus Adekanye, representing the Lagos Mainland Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly and other well-meaning Lagosian who appreciate and support the laudable efforts of His Excellency, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode on this 114 roads which is the first of its kind in the whole country to take a visit to this site and access the beautiful project of this road in Makoko.

The flood on some portion (20m) of this road was caused by tides couple with the opening of river Oyan (17/09/16). This caused the water level of the lagoon (about 40m) close to the road project to overflow and spill on the road. This was possible because the road drainage system link directly into the lagoon and there was a backflow.

On experiencing this and in agreement with the community with the CDA, the contractor decide to increase the size of the drainage to accommodate larger volume of water, that was when the so called reporter from “insidemainland”came took the pictures and posted it online.
Once again, I challenge anyone that love the truth to take a visit to the project site and have a first-hand information.
Here are some of the picture before and after the project work.

The seven days eviction notice and plans of demolition of waterfront structures was announced by LASG on Sunday, October 9, 2016.

Hon. Oladele Rufus Adekanye, representing the Lagos Mainland Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has responded to the exclusive report done by InsideMainland on the horribly constructed road in Erejuwa, Makoko axis of Lagos. The road constructed by Hansmag (Nig) Limited was poorly done and rushed to meet the deadline date set aside for commissioning by LASG.
Commenting on the road development, Hon. Adekanye popularly referred to as Lado in a chat with InsideMainland said that “the idea was to encourage local contractors and I don’t think there was anything wrong in doing that. This is done so that the economy can be bold but some people take advantage of the opportunities given to them. We want to believe that we have few of such cases (substandard roads constructed) and we will correct them accordingly using the processes that have been identified by the Lagos State House of Assembly.”
He added that the “Governor is concerned about excellence and of course those of us at the Lagos State House of Assembly too. We want no less. Where we notice things of that nature, we are already working on them and we can assure our people in Lagos State that we will do the best to ensure that corrections are made.”
Speaking on the processes in correcting the shoddy job done by the local contractors, he said, “some of these contractors will be invited and then we will ask them to do the right thing and we hope that subsequently it changes because the process is an ongoing thing and new set of roads will still be constructed. We want to ensure that as we treat the substandard roads, there will not be a repeat of such cases again in the future.”
When asked if the government will desist from working with local contractors owing to the faults in the job done by the local contractors, Hon. Adekanye disclosed that “there has been no regret whatsoever working with local contractors. Do we want to begin to invite foreigners to fix our roads again? On a personal note, I can say that the idea is ideal and good for the State. We run an economy that needs to be encouraged and boosted in one way. PoliticsNewly Commissioned Road In Ikorodu Breaks Apart, Government Reacts by arlomah(op): 5:38pm On Sep 27, 2016
Barely one week after the official commissioning of the newly constructed Federal Low Cost Bye-Pass in Itokin axis of Ikorodu North LCDA, Ikorodu by the Lagos State Government, the road is currently breaking apart. The road was commissioned as part of the ongoing 114 Roads project across the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the state.

The road which was constructed by DHV Nigeria Limited was commissioned last Wednesday, September 21, 2016. The road is presently nothing to write home about as parts of it is filled with pot holes while some parts is wearing off.

What is however shocking to residents of the area is the current state of the road that was rated as 90% perfect by the Sole Administrator of the Ikorodu North LCDA, Alhaja Shukurat Okeowo.

While some residents are currently looking for avenues to ensure the road is put back in good shape, some others have continued to condemn the shoddy job done by the construction company.

Government Reaction

In a swift response to the negative comments that have trailed the state of the newly commissioned road, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon.
