One Naira those days have you access to some rounds of Mario at Karachi, Oyakaka rice biscuit, condense and Ofio, with small change that was when I was in primary school, if you could tap One Naira without it being noticed, you are an Omo Baba Olowo.
I worked for my money back then though, helped a lot of Bachelors and spinsters fetch water, take their clothes in when it rained, some advantages came with leaving in an estate formation.
Not like this days we have primary school cultists, who feel everything should be done for them, and find it a burden greeting their elders.
That being said I will be free till weekend, let's make it eventful here.
koice: Don't you feel rushed whenever watching a movie? Because of the time constraint involved, movie characters goes through a comically rushed development sequence that serves to not only alienate the audience, but make the plot feel kind of half-assed. By contrast, longer plots in tv shows leave ample room for characters to maneuver at a more steady pace, hereby, creating a feeling of intimacy with their audience. Meaning, the viewers can become far more invested in tv show characters than movie characters.
i find time for both. i guess these days i also watch series more for reasons such as you said, but there are still some movies that are epic
dealtinate: Lolz. Not at all. Variety is the spices of life as they say. Not a movie buff (not anymore), but I do watch movies from time to time (usually when I have ran out of new shows to watch or bored of playing FIFA), and naturally, when I'm in my movie phase, I backtrack to this thread to spy on the recommendation of others. Sometimes, I even join in the conversation.
sod09: do you understand it or you only watched it to keep your eyes busy how to get away with murder and westworld are 2 series i cant figure out why the people are acting sef so confusing and stressful
First off west world is a spin off of a 70s or 80s movie starring yul brynner the guy who acted as the king in the original the king and I. Its based on a an artificial world where humans interact with robots who then go haywire.
That's the premise of the show. The automatons don't know they aren't real and are programmed to play a specific role I.e the love-vendor the cow boy and all that. Except that they are aware of self ( as programmed) and self preservation kicks in based on imprinted knowledge.
I actually enjoyed the show then but I have a lot o my plate now hence I am waiting for a time when I would just binge on it.

The problem is Nigeria had an Urban explosion it was not prepared for, also our poor maintenance culture and unwillingness to pay for public utility services, due to our entitlement mentality killed our power sector.
I can never forget as a kid in 1993 when the interrupted power before the match Nigeria versus Argentina. Half of Festac marched down to the Nepa Office before we got there power was restored.
Who knew what Generator was then
I tell you. My parent bought thier first gen in 1999. By that time power was already a mess. Grew up in ogba area. In the compound then we were the only ones with cable tv.
obixcel: First lady Melania Trump is recovering from an embolization procedure that she underwent Monday to treat a benign kidney condition, the White House announced — just minutes after word of former Sen. Harry Reid's operation to treat his pancreatic cancer spread.
Mrs. Trump, 48, likely will remain under observation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for the duration of the week, communications director Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
The news of Mrs. Trump's hospitalization came as a shock, as many Americans were unaware she had a kidney condition. The day before, she was wishing everyone a "Happy Mother's Day" on Twitter.
NOTE:
What is an 'embolization procedure'? Embolization procedures are performed to cut off blood supply to a tumor, aneurysm or abnormal growth, typically growing in the kidney or liver, to shrink the foreign mass.
"In this procedure, an interventional radiologist uses imaging guidance to insert a catheter into a primary artery and advance it to blood vessel leading to a tumor or other area where the bloody supply needs to be blocked," Cancer Treatment Centers of America explains in a post on its website.
Since the surgery is non-invasive, recovery time tends to be quick. Patients are usually monitored for about 2 hours after the procedure. If vital signs are strong and patients can walk down a long hall with a nurse successfully, then they're generally discharged that same day, according to Northwestern Medicine.
"Kidney embolization procedures are generally well tolerated," John Friedewald, M.D., medical director of kidney and pancreas transplantation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, told Women's Health on Monday, adding that it causes only minor side effects such as fever, pain or bleeding at the injection spot.
What is a benign kidney condition? When an abnormal mass is "benign," that means it's non-cancerous and contained, meaning it won't spread to the rest of the body. It's unclear whether Mrs. Trump had a benign tumor (angiomyolipoma), cyst or other unusual growth — but, as the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) points out, a "simple kidney cyst" is the most common benign kidney condition.
"A simple cyst is a round or oval fluid-filled sac. One or more cysts can develop in a kidney," the CCS explains, adding that it's most common in adults 50 years or older.
It's actually pretty hard to identify a kidney condition, experts say.
"Most kidney masses... are discovered incidentally - meaning that they are found by chance during radiologic studies obtained for an unrelated medical condition," the Mayo Clinic says.
Ok, I will download it based on your judgements. I'm downloading Early Man, after which I'll download Revenge. When I'm done watching them, Hardcore Henry next. I kukukma like gruesome movies, so no shaking.
I vividly remember that evening when some strangers came to the house and connected the cable and started tuning the tv for stations. UK gold came on first. It was so clear that I squealed in delight.
Lol.
I was hooked from then.on. one Saturday my parents had to travel very early thwy left around 5 a.m and we the kids immediately put on the tv and we watched it till thwy got back around 9 pm. Then nepa wahala wasn't as common. Light was always there . Our neighbours kids used to sneak up to come and watch with us..
Proudlyngwa: Whatever happened to BOP TV and UK gold.
I really don't know. Will check to see if they are still on. I remember when I watched the incredible hulk with Lou ferigno on bop tv then. All the movies back to back. Those where the days
Concerningnpay tv Dstv took over. The initial investors satnet and others introduced decoders for already subscribed consumers who paid a one time bill for unlimited supply. That killed them off. Many people where unwilling to pay as they already had it for free so why pay.
Dstv came with pay from the beginning so everyone knew what they were getting into.
I will check to see if those channels are still alive. Sky UK gold bop tv cartoon network and others
ahiboilandgas: it's by force since we are paying ur tuition fees ...ur are our investment and subject to our wills ....u are free to self train ur self in a private university or abroad
Following this logic everybody who goes to a public institution will be chained down for the same duration if not longer.
The concept of straight up debate with points has flown over the heads of most of you. Some people make attempts at having a discourse while others only know hate and insults.
It would be entertaining to have a discourse about this issue. Doctors and health workers. The way forward.
Not an argument but a debate with links to facts. That way it would be easier to make the nairaland populace see who's right or wrong.
Maybe there is no right or wrong in this situation.
