As for political influence, there shall be no added influence for the southeast by making Anioma as sixth state for the southeast. Rather, a sixth state carved from the present southeast shall increase the political/electoral influence of the southeast. Do the Maths as well. Ned Nwoko has been exploiting the ignorance of some uninitiated Igbos in the southeast.

you should not go the route of technicality and calculation since either you are being mischievous or comprehension seems not to be your fort.

Politics is guided by interest, and a group bound by common values always share common interest. The bigger such group is, the stronger and more power it'll have to bargain for its interest. If such group is fragmented and carved each into larger distinct groups, their interest will be subsumed to that of the respective dominant groups. For instance, if you have a majority and minority group in a state or region, the minority group in the state will only increase the bargaining power of the dominant group without catering for its own specific interests, talk more of the interest of its kinds scattered across different political boundaries also as minorities. It is this type of gerrymandering that the British used to increase the influence of the Hausa/Fulani while diminishing the influence of Igbo and Yoruba. This is why you have something called "divide and conquer"

Creating six states within southeast will increase political representation but will not boost the economic and political bargaining influence of the region by increasing its resources and population omlike Anioma will do.

Do not let your petty clannish gains override the collective Igbo interest.

You don't get the "memo" do you?. The report recommendation says New state for the southeast not a new state in the southeast. Getting more territory in to the southeast will not only increase representation like creating from within it will do but also increasing the overall influence of the region.

The only one not listed here (Anioma) is the one that'll be created.

The claim of southeast being landlocked has been bursted severally here. Several rivers empties into the Ocean from southeast including Azumini in Abia which is actually closer to the Atlantic than many parts of Rivers

Note that the southeast is different from Igboland. Ever since we publicised the Igboness of Opobo, Bonny and many Igbo speaking area that live at the ocean shore in Rivers state, they slowed down the claims that Igboland is landlocked.

This is the first thing they carryout for administrative reasons. In fact, a lot of work had been done on these areas by anthropologists, explores, missionaries and even slave dealers before the arrival of colonialists. These old maps may address the tribes or ethnic groups by their former names but still remain very consistent.

However, colonialism is politics. When politics come to play, all sorts of tricks are employed such as divide and rule and gerrymandering in order to advance colonial goals. This may see splitting of ethnic homelands between regional boundaries. This was why Igbos of the Aboh division (Delta Igbos) ended up in the colonial western region while the minority Igbos of the Benue valley and the Idomas/ igede despite being culturally easterners, ended up in the Northern region. A dominant north serves British interest.

if the war never happened at all it would have been the best. That would have been the case under Trump. A lot of damages have been done already which has pushed Ukraine to a weak negotiating position. Continuing support for Ukraine which has been biden policy makes no sense. It will only make Russia pay a prize for the war through their losses but won't change anything for Ukraine.
