Gospel music is a major branch of the music industry in Nigeria and it's the most powerful genre. Gospel music export Nigeria language more than the secular genre. The genre is not only dominated by Igbo language but are dominated by Igbo artistes. Coming to Nigerians music itself, I can prove to you that Igbos artist sing in Igbo more than Yorubas sing in Yoruba. Igbo artistes basically sing in Igbo while Yoruba artistes sing in pidgin and with a touch of Yoruba. While I don't vibe to the so called afro beat, it is well known that the following artistes are very popular with the lovers of the genre:
Flavour, Phyno, Oma lay, C Kay, Patoranking, K cee, Chike, Duncan mighty etc Not to mention the likes of Psquare and Don jazzy
