Politics › Re: Russian Flag Terrible Consequences On Northern Nigeria by Armaggedon: 12:55pm On Aug 07, 2024
Biodun556:
EU , US and France are still in deep pain as Russia is taking over west Africa Francophone countries.

Few weeks ago US sent one of its official to Nigeria urging Nigeria to declare war on Niger military government

As Nigeria continues to ignore US call to fight Russia backed military regime in West Africa, the next option to use proxy against them. As northern Nigeria continues to show interest in Russian influence, then more terrorists organizations may spring up to destabilize the region as punishment for their insensitivity.
quit the delusion. If the protest continues amids serious hardship and Pro Russian sentiments grows, the west will support a "pre-emptive coup" that will enthrone a pro west military junta just like in Gabon. They know Russia will take advantage of the anti democracy sentiments occasioned by hardship.

The problem with Nigeria is that while there is a consensus that the country and it's leadership have failed, there is no unified nationwide response to this failure because of mutual hatred and suspicion among regions and ethnicities, making it likely that any military coup or revolution presently will achieve break up of the country instead of change of government.

You're correct. Northern Nigeria faces the same problem the rest of the sahel is facing.

Insecurity
Poverty
Perceived inability of their prowestern govt to solve it.

It's no surprise they yearn for the same solution Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger adopted which is a switch in alliance to Russia. The west is about to get the repercussion of weaponizing Northern underdevelopment for the control of the entire country. Considering the north have been traditional allies of the west since amalgamation to the detriment of the East, this is a very serious issue not only to the UK/US but also has serious implications for Nigeria's existence. Nigerians are unaware.

Politics › Re: Flashback: Why I Opposed Awolowo On Secession - Zik by Armaggedon: 12:14pm On Jun 06, 2024
LifestyleTonite:
Your people's penchant to look away even when truth stares them in the face is legendary.

Look at how you excused Zik from the blame. Zik ought to have argued in favour of secession like Awolowo, but he probably thought his people would succeed in lording over other tribes. Sadly, the opposite is the case today.

If Zik had supported secession clause, that would have been two against one. His people won't be screaming Biafra or death today and begging to secede. So you see, Awolowo was a visioneer, he saw today from yesterday.

It's sad that you now want Awolowo to commit a treasonable offense like Ojukwu after the latter's brother Zik supported the law that placed secessionist tendencies as treason.

The moment you fail to acknowledge the truth, no matter how bitter, you will start to make horrible decisions. That's what is wrong with your people.
shut up! Gowon ended federalism in Nigeria and declared war not zik. Zik supported a regional federation and did not contradict himself. Zik never claimed to be a seperatist. It was Awolowo who claims to be a separatist at first but when it was time to act it out during the war, he started to endorse what he hated.

Awolowo was the only politician in history who is known to have taken a major decision not based on strategy but his "antipathy towards the Igbos" Such a fool.

nobody really knows what he stood for till this day.

Market cap does not really determine the size of a company, only it's current value.
Politics › Re: Flashback: Why I Opposed Awolowo On Secession - Zik by Armaggedon:
Zik stood for regionalism and federalism with financial and legislative autonomy where the regions developed in their own pace. No contradictions.

One of the most confusing figures in Nigeria's history was Awolowo. He claimed he wanted secession and zik rejected. But when the opportunity presented itself during Biafra, the same Awolowo made a complete U-turn and and started fighting for a unitary one Nigeria as championed by gowon. His attitude justified Zik's opinions about him.

For those who claim his demand was in good faith, his demand was rediculous and he knew it. He was neither here no there. There is no sovereign state in the world that has secession in it's constitution. If he truly wanted his region to be alone he should have demanded a pre-independence referendum like southern Cameroon or pre-independence partitioning as in British India. Opting for a secession clause instead of pre-independence referendum clearly indicated lack of commitment to specific ideology from Awolowo. You can't officially keep one leg in the country and keeping one outside. A snake he was.

if you understand what self determination is all about, you should know that viability squarely rest with the people once the meet the minimum population threshold.
Politics › Re: The Restructuring Model That Would've Helped Nigeria by Armaggedon: 11:09am On Jun 04, 2024
Brilliant idea. But the seperatists have won public opinion in the East. People who strongly championed restructuring in the past like Ben Nwabueze , Alex Ekwueme, Chukwuemeka Ezeife etc have passed on.

The seperatists will win. It's a matter of time.

jaxin119:
Tiv always channel their energy to the wrong course. Salvaging yourself from fulani terrorists should be your number one priority followed by retaining your place as the food basket of the nation.

As for the Idoma people of Benue state, just know that you will never gain anything meaningful from Benue state. Given that Igbos have always stood by you/Idomas, the best bet for you/Idomas is to merger with the indigenous igbos of Benue extractions and become the sixth state of the South East since the present South East is slightly smaller in land mass.
There is no such state creation movement seeking an Idoma state in the south east. If they truly want it, I expect frequent press conference to that effect like the Anioma people used to do. Moreover, "Ohimini state" might appeal more to Igbos than Apa state.

Not just about state creation, political atmosphere in the country is getting fluid and we could witness drastic changes that could lead to seperation. Anyone left out of the Noah's ark will be lost forever.

Stop asking stupid question. Am I a governor?
Then you keep quiet and allow the governors sit at home in peace. If you dedicate to Nigeria half the way Biafrans love Biafra, Nigeria wouldn't have been one of the worst countries in the world.
