PoliticsRe: El-rufai Retweets Insults On President Jonathan by Arosa(m): 4:40pm On Nov 10, 2013
funnyx: Personal attack is distasteful but really do no damage, people can say what they like in the end it takes nothing away from the president however, replying every personal attacks is petty and not presidential.
The only part of your post that makes sense is "Personal attacks are distasteful". The rest is just blah blah blah. Are you a psychologist? Personal attacks on the president are damaging - to the image of the country, for one; furthermore, they are damaging to the individual (i.e. the president himself). It could be seen as bullying, against which there are laws in the Western world. People have been known to commit suicide due to being bullied excessively online. angry

You do know that I used the word "suggest" it's different from dictate.
PoliticsRe: El-rufai Retweets Insults On President Jonathan by Arosa(m): 4:18pm On Nov 10, 2013
funnyx: Your argument is juvenile and ridiculous, so being a president means you're the smartest person in the country?
If your president is making moronic decisions that continues to undermine the economy you should keep quiet so you don't appears stupeed?
I never said you should keep quiet. Did you not read my post?? I suggested that constructive criticism should be offered, instead of personal attacks and insults.
PoliticsRe: El-rufai Retweets Insults On President Jonathan by Arosa(m): 4:07pm On Nov 10, 2013
There is nothing wrong in criticising your president if it's constructive criticism. Personal attacks and insults towards the president is silly because it reflects on you. If you say that your president is a ninny, what will people think of you? If you are someone led by a daft person, making decisions that affect your life, then who are you? undecided undecided

I know some people will come on here and try to justify their stupidity, saying that this is done in other parts of the world. Well, just because this is done in the Western world, does this make it right? Why must Nigeria copy the worst parts of Western culture, and not the best parts, e.g. technological advancement? And by the way, even in the U.S., insulting your president is frowned upon. I wouldn't be surprised if many of those insulting their leader are psychotic/mentally ill.
Just my opinion.

omenka: Calling a spade a spade is the truth. All what the president has been doing so far in his admin validates el Rufai's statement.
Insulting the president like this is taking things too far, It's as if he has a personal grudge against him.

Ok, your opinion is noted. NEXT!

omenka: What is "mad" about telling the truth?
So insulting the president is the truth? diplomacy is one of the qualities of a good politician. El-rufai do not comprehend that.

kingoflag: Nigerian Politicians ---1st Republic, 2nd, 3rd and 4th have been worse than all the Military Govt put together.

Goodluck Jonathan's Govt has indisputably been the worst.
What is your definition of worst in the Nigerian context?

PoliticsRe: Jonathan: Military 'll No Longer Be Tolerated In Governance by Arosa(m):
egift: I disagree.

In the military, only few top officers steal. Others are scared, Oga will discipline them mercilessly and use them as scape goats.

For Politicians, like what we have today, everyone is busy stealing as they can. The only way to stay safe is (go big - stealing almost everything, give to your ogas at the top, don't ever oppose your bosses, always sign their praises, don't keep the glory for your hard works - send it all to the top - EG: A LGA chairman praising the Governor for all the wonderful projects he did).

The only problem of Nigeria is leadership - the one at the top. If we get it right, everyone will fall in line.
It was the first intervention or participation of the military particularly the army in politics that lead to the civil war. what about human right violation that they see as normal!? military rule is also not good for the military itself. Think about it will you. undecided undecided

PoliticsRe: Ghana Ranks 3rd Most Corrupt Country by Arosa(m): 12:19pm On Nov 09, 2013
ckkris: Of what? No Traditional Ruler in Nigeria will ever call for revolution. The one naive C K Nzogwu started, has produced more corrupt generals than the CIVILIAN POLITICIANS he called ten-percenters. National Conference may provide the handle on these intractable issues. There's hope. Ghana must learn from Nigeria now, same as Nkruma learnt from Zik.
I believe that Africa needs a role model. If Ghana is as corrupt as this article claims, then Africa is hopeless. undecided

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is Officially A Failed State by Arosa(m): 5:22pm On Nov 08, 2013
anulaxad: I believe Nigeria should be first out of all failed states, now before the abuse let me explain why.

[s][b]Nigeria is a very lucky country that has always had resources the whiteman did not exploit us a smuch as other african countries[/b[/s]],they hardly steal from us nigerians and even better we the nigerians control our own country fully, but why the hell is our infrastructure disgusting, why is corruption so bad and why the hell is there a lot of unnecessary spending.

Nigeria is truly the most failed state in the world by a mile according to my reasonable opinion.
I am not going to go into full detail.
You forget about human resources, Nigeria is the most exploited of all African Nations.
Most of the trance Atlantic slaves were from naija.
Do you know how many Naija men were lost in the world wars and Burma war?
Lets not talk about oil and gas.
