I can see that learning culture is dead in Naija. We think we can do everything we want without training for it. Even those that try to learn don't complete or perfect their skills. Tonto please, I take God beg you give singing up or go for voice training classes. ![]() Out of 10 I give this song a 1. note I am being generous here. |

Emoticon: Wasn't she "civil" enough to know that what she was abouto do was evil before proceeding on such devilish act?I am not in anyway in support of this evil woman's act. Plus I agreed that she should be punished. |
Cap28 Can you (as in African Nations)stop the US/EU from taking over Africa, good or bad? ![]() |
andyanders: You are right but sometimes, we do not get those form of reform or rehabilitation in this part of the world as a result of a legal system that does not work. Such actions against minors should be a capital punishment to the offenders. If the offender know that he/she will get same punishment, he/she will not act that way. If you kill a minor, you must be killed.Justice should be supreme and should not be compromised. I agree with you that this woman should be punished, it's the type of punishment you suggest that I disagree with. |
I think I'am falling in love with Goldie, God please help me. ![]() |
andyanders: Why not for a woman with such heart? Using a hot pressing iron on a little girl? Why not and if not. She must be rewarded same way. While it may be a more or less normal emotional reaction to wish this person to be punished severely, and perhaps even in the same way as what she did to the victim, the question is whether you can build a society's judicial system on such principles of punishment. Punishment can serve different functions: preventative, rehabilitative, and revenge. Inflicting the same punishment on the perpetrator as what they did to the victim (similar to capital punishment) serves the principle of revenge. But where does it end, and what does it achieve? It makes more sense to focus on rehabilitation, i.e. to aim for a reform and reintegration of the individual into society. This is a principle pursued in many Western countries- examples include anger management classes, psychotherapy, or even parole. On the other hand, a punitive system based on revenge achieves nothing - it does not do anything other than satisfy primitive emotional urges, and teaches the perpetrator nothing. They may come out of prison and continue to pursue crime, but do it on the down-low, and out of fear of being caught, kill their victim(s). Not to bore yo with psychological detail, but these are facts. |
