How many Nigerians engineering professors has published engineering books used in other universities abroad unlike their colleagues in the medical fields that are doing well.
This is because all the know is theory not practical, you can’t teach buy going to classroom to dictating notes alone , it’s not sufficient

There is a Medical Prof in one of our university in Nigeria that buy foreign books, read, correct mistakes in those books and send the books back to the writers in advance countries, and he returns they do acknowledge and thank him, we’ll recognized , he was honored in the US years ago, we don’t have such in our engineering faculties, still the point I’m trying to make you understand

My dear friend, you still don't get it. You think professors just wake up , rub their bottoms and scientific knowledge flow out? You don't that there are processes they must go through which may require huge investment in money, time and other resources.

Professors are not technicians, this applies all over the world. And the scientists you were talking about, who told you that they were out in the field with spanners and hammers building the nuclear reactors in Iran or in any other place? I mentioned earlier that our educational sector, like every other sector in Nigeria has issues...but that isn't because you have professors that can't fix broken down generators. Moreover, different field of studies require different approaches. What's required in theoretical physics differs from what's required in mechanical engineering and medicine.

Do you know how much the people you are using as an example spend on researches and education? How much do you pay your professors that you are expecting something extraordinary from them? Go and check the amount budgeted for education in Nigeria for 2025 and check that of Harvard university alone. Check and tell us what you discovered?

You have a point, but you are pointing in the wrong direction. Professors are not the problem, but the educational sector as a whole and the way it's structured. Professors and technicians are not same. Professors don't train technicians, not even in your beloved Germany.

The problem of your country is not that you have too many professors. The problem is that you have few technicians and your education sector is underfunded. Professors don't build physical infrastructures , the design mostly.
The two are different and both are equally important. We have Polytechnic and technical schools were technical knowledge are meant to taught. But today it's a different ball game. Not everyone need to spend five years in the university, one year certificate program is enough to get some people started in their field of interest. For your information, there are no Chinese professors in Nigeria building infrastructure for you, but technicians and laborers.

Go and research how much it cost to fund researches. Who is going to fund those researches you are talking about? Do you know how much it cost to build a standard engineering laboratory? You think those things you have in federal school are up to standard? You get what you plant, my friend.

Have you ever studied engineering ? In an engineering faculty, there are lecturers and lab technicians whose job is to conduct practicals with students. The two are different. Una ignorance is so embarassing.

You are obviously ignorant of how school works! I guess this is because in Nigeria certificate and degrees are everything.
