I have never had any course to send dollar to anyone, I forsaw this and ensured all my workers are paid in naira even when most in our field prefer quotations in dollars. On the surface I should be happy as I receive dollars as payment for my own job but even I know is very sad at this development.

When you think you are getting more, nah you are not because as dollars goes up against the naira, prices of commodities go up as well and in Nigeria, chances are the prices may not come down once the forex market is normalised.

Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia has confirmed that his next Olympic team will be built around Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho.

Siasia has also given a contrasting view on Iheanacho to that of former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi – who believed the 18-year-old was too young and inexperienced.

Siasia praised the talents of Iheanacho and says the Flying Eagles star will definitely be a part of his team.

“Of course, definitely he will be (part of the team). You know it’s not about the age anymore it’s about what you can do as a player,” said Siasia.

“If Raheem Sterling can play for the national team at 17 and has been playing well there, but they might as well have invited him to the U20 or U21’s but it’s what that young player can give.

“Look at the South African team now, most of their players are young players and that’s what we’re looking at trying to build a strong team with.”

There has been a debate whether Kelechi Iheanacho deserves a call to the Super Eagles, but Siasia, a former Super Eagles coach himself, has wasted no time in confirming that Iheanacho will be a part of his U23 team.

The former Flying Eagles coach also praised Iheanacho’s talent describing it as outstanding, saying it is hard to miss such a talent.

“During the U17’s, I think he was the player that caught my eye. He was very outstanding and I don’t see why anybody will miss him,” added Siasia.

“He was doing well for his club in Europe before he went to America and I think he’s one of the future stars we have in Nigeria.”

Iheanacho and majority of his teammates from the 2013 U17’s are expected to form the bedrock of the next Olympic team, and also the Super Eagles’ team to go to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Seriously, Siasia is still the best for the Super Eagles, he understand the game well. I wish Keshi accepted the fact that not age play football any more these days.

However, Siasia just like Keshi finally need to accept that we are in 2014 and not in in the 90s. Players' ego have to be managed, you can't force your ideas on them any more these days and any manager that doesn't accept that fact won't go far. Keshi just like Siasia back then need to reduce ( can eliminate I understand that ) the amount of fall outs with his players.

New coach of the U23 team, Samson Siasia has said that players from the Nigeria Professional Football League would form the base of his team for the qualifying series for both the All African Games and the Olympic Games.

The trainer said that in as much as he has absolute trust in the availability of football talents in the country, he was also mindful of the fact that the AAG and 2016 Olympics qualifying series are not FIFA-listed tournaments.

He stated that in other to get the right kind of players to be invited for screening, he had contacted all the coaches of the various clubs in the premier league to give him names of very good players in their clubs.

"I have to start an early preparation so that we can pick the best players through elimination by substitution so that we can begin blending of the team before the qualifiers which is billed to commence in February 2015," Siasia disclosed.

Meanwhile, the former Super Eagles coach maintained that he is not shutting the door on the foreign-based players as they would be joining the team at a later date when they would be ready to go for the major championship.

"The foreign based players, especially some of them in the Super Eagles camp who are still within the age limit, would still make the team but that would be at very crucial point or when we must have qualified.

“The problem is that our competition is not under FIFA, so securing their release would be very difficult. But we are sure to get them when we eventually qualify," Siasia told SportingLife.

This is Siasia’s second stint in charge of the U23s. He led the team to winning silver at the Beijing Olympics Games.

I do not agree Super Eagles players should be called unless for the 3 overaged players for the Olympics. Wilshere for instance doesn't get called for the under 23 any more and he is eligible. Let Super Eagles players concentrate on the Super Eagles. The under 17-23 teams are developmental teams. Competitions in these age grades are meant to unearth players for the national team.

We need to stop this win at all cost mentality.

Nigeria has enough talent to form 3 very reliable teams at all level but NFF are handicapping the coaches. Yes, I agree the coaches are sometime not good enough but the bigger blame is on the NFF and the sports ministry.

I do not know why Aneke do not get a call up since. He may not be playing for Arsenal any more but if you have seen the guy play, you will know all he needs his regular playing time ( which Wenger didn't give him ). Another very good player is Tiago Ilori of Liverpool.

We won't give these players the chances they deserve until another nation tries to compel them to play for their team.

Dundee United striker Ola Adeyemo is attracting the interest of Nigerian Football authorities despite only just making his debut for the Scottish Premier League side on October 3.

Adeyemo, 19, is a strong and skilful striker who has been likened to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry due to his blistering pace and eye for goal.
