The decline in the price of crude oil may have started taking its toll on Nigeria as the Federal Government on Sunday announced measures aimed at cushioning its impact on the economy.

The Minister of Finance and the Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy , Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, announced this Abuja while addressing journalists on the Federal Government’s response to the crisis in Abuja on Sunday.

The measures which will see Nigerians paying tax on luxury goods, comes barely six days after President Goodluck Jonathan formally announced his intention to contest the February 14, 2015 election.

Okonjo-Iweala, in company with the Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Dr Bright Okogu; the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Jonah Otunla; the Acting Chair, FIRS, Alhaji Kabir Mashi and other top officials, told the journalists that the nation would be experiencing a challenging time owing to the global fall in oil prices.

So Nigerians will now be forced to pay TAXES on things they hitherto do not pay TAXES on simply because the government is incompetent? Why did we not take the right measures when the prices of oil was extremely high.

Where is the excess accrued to us from high oil prices?

Why did someone who claims to be an Havard trained economics not know that the high prices of Oil is not sustainable? Why the fire bridgade approach?

2. You are the man, we know, don't be overbearing on her. You want her to talk? You feel she is hiding something? Compel her to talk not force her to talk ( I regret till date yelling at her, trying to form a man not knowing her behaviour was as a result of the pain she was going through).

3. Settle a quarrel the same day. My ex threatened to walk out on me once she gets out of her sick bed unless I do xyz which I was not going to do but can't explain why as it will put her would be in laws in bad light forever. We had a big fight, her mom intervened and I had to be a man. She accepted she was wrong and thought she had pushed me away for good but was surprised I showed up at her sick bed 7am the next day. I could see the "sorry" in her eyes and when she said "I love you" I knew she meant it. She died 6 hours later. Imagine if I did not go to see her? Imagine if I was forming annoyed and I was not with her to show care in her last moment?
Seeing her take her last breath without been able to do anything has made me another animal entirely but I take solace in the fact that she knows even in her last moment that my love was real and long suffering.

Miracles are real but I guess not for everyone. Reading about how that lady survived brain tumour got me teary.

My fiancee almost made it through. She died 2 days before discharge ever since it has been one confusion to the other. To everyone in my family, no one survives a brain tumour but here is someone who survived it. Further makes me believe it is not for everyone.

bros you still don't get it. Tinubu and south west apc are not interested in anything presidential election. Apc knows very well that there is no way they can win 2015 presidential election but if they are able to put up a good showing then by 2019 they will have a very strong chance .tinubu is not a dumb brain or nitwit to believe apc with just about 12 state can win the presidency. But even now the problem confronting tinubu and his group is far beyond the presidential because the south west which used to be their comfortable stronghold is very fast slipping from their hold and there are very strong indications that they will still drop one or 2 more states in the south west. So all that is in tinubu brain and his plans now is how to retain the south west. Because without the south west been under tinubu faction control ,tinubu is nobody . Which means that the presidential will be left to whoever can fight for it. Tinubu will trade any barter with anyone just to have apc win the remaining 4 states in the south west. Tinubu and his ac n have now realized that the mega party they did only brought in political liabilities and people who can't deliver when the chips are down. This is what the northern caucus in apc knows and this will play a significant role against buhari because he hasn't got the financial war chest of people like atiku . That is why atiku is pushing for a primary and not a consensus candidacy.
