PoliticsRe: Senate Confirms Oyedele As Minister Of State For Finance by Artixmentor(m): 5:56am On Mar 12
This actually sounds like a sensible approach. Locking in crude prices could help Nigeria plan its budget better and reduce sudden fuel price shocks for citizens. The key thing now is proper execution and accountability.
Forward selling crude is not a new idea; many countries already do it. The real question is whether Nigeria has the fiscal discipline and transparency to manage such contracts without turning them into another avenue for losses and corruption.

CareerMaximizing Dairy Farm Profit: A Strategic View From The Accountant's Desk by Artixmentor(op): 11:30am On Jul 13, 2025
𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁: 𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁'𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗸

As an accountant working on a farm that integrates dairy, pasture, and grain production, I have come to realize that profitability in dairy farming is not just a function of revenue and cost calculations, it is the result of strategic alignment between daily operations and financial planning. Behind every litre of milk sold is a combination of good animal welfare practices, efficient resource use, and smart budgeting.

Profitability starts with the cows. Comfortable cows are productive cows. Providing clean, dry bedding, adequate ventilation, and shade ensures optimal living conditions. Access to clean water and ample resting space reduces stress and promotes health. From my desk, it’s clear: when animal welfare improves, veterinary costs go down and milk output goes up.

⏱️ 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙩

One of the most underrated contributors to profit is routine. Regular schedules for feeding, milking, and barn cleaning bring stability, which cows respond to positively. Operationally, it reduces inefficiencies. Financially, it allows for better forecasting and cost control. Consistency breeds both calm and clarity on the farm and in the books.

Nutrition plays a pivotal role in milk yield and cow health. Collaborating with nutritionists to develop the right mix of forages, grains, and supplements is crucial. Because our farm produces grains, we’re able to reduce feed costs significantly while maintaining high-quality rations. This integrated approach not only cuts costs but improves feed traceability, an added value for quality-conscious markets.

🧼 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙮𝙜𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙚

Milking is not just about extraction, it is a science of hygiene and timing. We milk two to three times daily using sanitized equipment that mimics natural processes. Cleanliness, especially of the udder and milking gear, reduces the risk of infection and spoilage. Every drop of milk represents a financial asset, protecting its quality safeguards revenue.

📊 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢

My role as an accountant is to convert these operational realities into financial insight. By tracking costs per litre, feed conversion ratios, and herd productivity metrics, I provide the data needed to make informed decisions. Whether it is adjusting feed budgets, planning capital investments, or identifying cost-saving opportunities, the numbers only make sense when grounded in the realities of the farm.

In conclusion, maximizing profit in dairy farming goes beyond the balance sheet. It requires a farm-wide strategy where cow welfare, routine discipline, smart nutrition, and hygiene are not just practices; they are investments. As an accountant embedded in this environment, I witness how financial success is built day by day, cow by cow and litre by litre.

FRIDAY'S EMBRACE: A Tapestry of Serenity and Faith

By K•A GBADEGESIN (Mr Mentor)

➡️➡️🕋 FRIDAY 🕋➡️➡️

As I woke up from my Matrimonial bed today;

I realized that today is Friday.

The day Muslims and Arabian called "yaomul Jumuah", the congregation day.

The day tranquil breeze sweeps the worries away, it's Friday.

Families gather for joyous play, celebrating this delightful day.

Worshippers gather at the mosque to pray, it's the holy Friday.

The noblest of the mankind (S.A.W) encouraged us to recite Suratul kahf on this special day

The day with a special time When Allah answer the supplications of his Servants is this Friday

On this special day, workers find solace as they lay their tools away, ending the workday.

As the moon ascends, a calmness in the air may stay, whispering tales of a beautiful Friday.

Couples stroll hand in hand by the bay, cherishing moments on this romantic day.

Children laugh and be in happy mood, embracing the freedom of Friday.

Sunset paints the sky in hues of gray, bidding farewell to the other day.

Stars twinkle, marking the night to display the blessings of this Friday.

SMART NETWORK TEAM GRACES THE 6TH ANNUAL ACADEMIC SEMINAR AND INTERDEPARTMENTAL QUIZ COMPETITION ORGANISED BY WINCO ALUMNI FORUM

Mr Oluwadamilare O. Ojo (funder and president of SMART Network) writes:

Outstanding People Standing Out!

As part of the activities of giving back, today, the old students of the Winners International College (WINCO) under the umbrella of the Winco Alumni Forum (WAF) held the 6th Annual Academic Seminar and Interdepartmental Quiz Competition for the senior secondary school (SS) students of their alma mater - WINCO, Sabo, Oyo. The seminar was centered around the academic performance of the SS students in Oyo State with a sharp focus on the peer group as an indispensable influencing factor.

Officially invited as a partner, the SMART Network Team took charge of the academic seminar. SMART Olumide Toyinbo gave notable tips to improve academic performance while justice was done to the positive and negative influences of peer group on the academic performance by SMART Basirat Abdulazeez with emphasis on the positive influence. Some invaluable nuggets and secrets of high-flying students were also disclosed by SMART Akeem Ademola. Their questions were answered. The student who answered the follow-up question correctly was 'handsomely' rewarded. The seminar was moderated by SMART Oluwadamilare Ojo.

We thank the leadership of the WAF ably led by Mr. Kazeem Gbadegesin (Mentor) for the great initiative and partnership invitation. In fulfilling the vision of the SMART Network, we are open to partnership.

PS: Academic excellence is possible without cutting corners.

...Excellence for All.
